Disabling email account

I want to disable my email acount on my Palm Centro, but do not know how to do that.  Also, is there a way that when you click on the "envelope" button, you view your "messaging"/text messages/SMS and not "email"?
Thanks

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
Not sure exactly what you mean "disable" your email account.  If you have created any accounts, have you tried just deleting them?  Menu > Account Setup > then select the account and tap Delete.
To change the button assignment to Messages, go into the Prefs application, select Buttons, then tap the down arrow next to the button you want to reassign.  Scroll to and select the Messaging application, and you should be all set.

  • Enabling / Disabling Email accounts during working Hours

    All,
I have my work email and personal email coming in to the same account under Mail. I am finding on weekends i am getting new email into my work account (nothing abnormal there) but worst i am reading and responding to them - i.e. should be enjoying the weekend not working but the self discipline is lacking and temptation to read them is just too much!
i would like an automatic way to either exclude the work email being received during Sat / Sun or find a way (thought about script excuted from iCal) that could disable / enable work email Friday night / Monday morning. Either that or any configurable app that allows me similiar control over the accounts
Any ideas on best ways to acheive.
    Many Thanks

Sorry for clarification - i have two email accounts, both going into a single Mail under a single user login; ones a .Mac account, one's an IMAP account connecting to work.
They already both go to individual mail boxes so i don't need to set up rules to split, the issue i am trying to get around is avoiding looking at new email that arrives in my work email box during the weekends.
Please don't get me wrong, its an irritation i would like to avoid rather than a system critical issue so refinement being the objective purely with geek-hat on rather than desperate-user.
    Any thoughts on solving welcomed!

  • API Disable email account

    Hi all,
We are running IMS5.2 on Solaris 8. Is there an API or line command to disable an email account without deleting the account completely. i.e., to keep the mailbox and entry in the LDAP but the account is disabled so that the end user cannot access his/her emails. And in that case, will the account continue to receive emails or it will be disabled in a way that the mailbox will not receive email also?
    Thanks

    Please check the documentation/
    Yes, purge will remove all.
Yes, it's immediate, assuming it actually completes correctly.
One of the command line flags you may need to set is "g", for "grace" period. By default, you can't purge users "deleted" for less than 5 days.
If you didn't use the -g0 flag to eliminate the grace period, then you didn't purge the user. There may be other reasons why purge didn't remove the user, too. Use the -v flag to see some debugging data.
You also have to use the
    imadmin user delete
    before you can
    imadmin user purge

  • How to copy messages from a disabled email account

Hello. I have this [email protected] configured on imap4.serverA.com. Now I've terminated contract with the provider that owns imap4.serverA.com and created the same email account on a new provider with an imap4.serverB.com. I've added the new account on Thunderbird and tried to move/copy the messages (drag and drop) from the old account to the new one. The problem is that when I try to do this Thunderbird keeps asking for the imap4.serverA.com login data. I can't login on that server because I've terminated contract with the provider, but the messages are still saved on thunderbird. Is it possible to copy those messages to that new account?
    Thank you in advance.

    Try this.
Go into 'Offline' mode, (click on 2blue screen icon - bottom left in Status Bar' to change to 2 black screen 'offline' mode), but do not synchronise because you already have the emials.
Move emails from old imap mail account into Local Folders. Then the emails are not stored in an imap account.
then go back into Online mode and try moving one email from Local Folders back onto new imap account.
check it moved ok by checking the webmail account via a browser.
You may discover it changed the dates as you are putting it onto the new server for the first time. If this occurs and is not desirable, then at least you can still view emails in Local Folders.

  • Disabled Email Account Sent feature in outlook is not working

In outlook, is easy to setup one email account just to receive emails.
    Example:
    Account A receive/send emails
    Account B receive only.
This is easily setup by configuring the send/receive groups (link: http://smallbusiness.chron.com/remove-send-account-outlook-2012-67137.html)
But this is not working! I configured account B to receive only and I can send emails using Account B without any problems. Any idea? This is driving me crazy! I tested in 3 different computers with the same results.
    Any ideas?

When you change the S/R group, you just tell it not to use that account in the group. You need to 1) use a fake SMTP server and 2) set the account in any and all S/R to not send mail (to avoid error messages). I have steps and screenshots for a
send only POP3 here - use the same method for receive only pop3, with the servers and settings reversed.

i just got a pre-used iphone 5S. It has a disabled icloud account. i tried to delete it but it asks me about the password.
i cant reset the account cause i don't know the email for verification.
also i can't restore using itunes because it asks to turn off find my iphone feature. and i can't turn it off because the account is disabled
how can I restore the iphone in this case?

You can't. There isn't a way to bypass Activation Lock: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13695 Your only option is to return the phone if possible. If not, you have a useless device.

  • HT1420 How do I authorize music I purchased a few years ago from an account that no longer exists?  The music shows up in my library, but it won't play.  I can no longer access that email account because it was disabled...anyone can help?

I purchased a bunch of music years ago with an old email account and password and then switched (before I understood about the apple account thing) and now the music will show up on my new computer but I can't authorize it to play because the old account is disabled and I can't remember my password!!!!!!
    HELP!!!
Anyone else find a solution to this?
Am I the only idiot who has done this?
    Thanks in advance

Hey there~ I had a similar experience, when the email I used to set up the account was hacked and subsequently shut down by Hotmail. If you contacted Support to change the name, but not the email address, you will need to do so again.
Also worth noting~ if, at any time, you synced your device to your work computer, you'll need to contact Support to deauthorize it and enable your current one.
    Good luck!

  • Temporarily disabling specific email accounts for phone shared by multiple users

Hi all and thank-you in advance for any potential help!
My company has a Blackberry "Style Flip" 9670 for our sales-people traveling in Northern Canada in the Yukon area.  This phone goes with whoever is going on that particular trip, however it has 5 different email accounts associated with it for the 3 users that share it.
I don't know if this is possible with a Blackberry or not, but we would love if there was an easy way to temporarily disable the email accounts that do not belong to the person carrying the phone at that point in time.
The way it is now, we have User A (2 email accounts), User B (2 email accounts), and User C (1 email account) sharing this phone.  If 'User C' is presently up north and has the phone and sends an email to 'User A' and 'User B', the email is still received on the shared BB for both 'User A' & 'User B' and wastes a lot of precious bandwidth.  The main dilema is the two users with multiple accounts on that phone receive a ton of emails daily.  This means 'User C' may have 1 crucial email waiting to be received, but has to wait for all of 'User A' & 'User B's' emails to be received before getting the important email.
Is there a way without deleting the accounts each time to turn certain email accounts on and off?  Any help is much appreciated!
    Colin

  • EMAIL Account Disabled

I was checking my account and just discovered that my email account has been disabled.
What is this about?  Do I need to contact customer service for this?  I really don't want to contac them because sometimes it is just too much.

This appears to be the same exact issue that I have.  Once you sign up for a "portal partner"  like Yahoo, your verizon.net account is permanently disabled.
To access my email using a client (like Thunderbird) on my computer, I must use "incoming.yahoo.verizon.net" and "outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net".  To access my email using web mail, I must go to the Yahoo.com home page, and log in using my verizon.net username and password.
I practically begged Verizon to get rid of Yahoo, and put me back onto verizon.net.  They tell me that once the change is made, this is impossible; supposedly, the ONLY option is to switch to another "portal partner", which is completely unacceptable.  As a field engineer, I find this very hard to believe.
It looks like we are totally and completely screwed.

  • Disabling specific emails accounts temporarily

Is there a way to ONLY enable downloading of 1 email account over certain wireless networks?  I have 3 email accounts 2 of which are personal.  When at work I would only like my work email to be active and not my personal emails.  When at home I would like to be able to download my 2 personal accounts.  I don't want my personal data traffic going over work servers.....  Thanks.

Go to Apple Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Disable the accounts you don't want to download from during the day.
Alternatively, you can create a separate user account for your work environment and another for your personal use.
Option 2, is a better choice.

  • I need to reset a password for a game center account that does not have an email account associated with it. I keep getting a message that it has been disabled.

We have 3 iPads on my iTunes account.  My son created a game center account as a minor and it did not require an email account. Now he cannot remember his password and he is locked out. I am unable to reset it because all he has is his nickname and not a real apple I.d. How can I fix this?

I just saw that the app Doodle Jump HD FREE which  is said to be downloaded is not seen in my purchases in APP STORE, so assume it is a spam. However I still cant reset my password...
    Thank you again!

  • Checking POP email on iphone disables mail account on my MacPro?

    Hello
Just set up new 3G iphone and have set it up to receive and send email from two accounts, I believe both are POP (one of which is a .ca.rr Road Runner account; other hosted on Bluhost). The iPhone is receiving and sending email from these accounts just fine. However, if I recently accessed mail on my Iphone, and I happen to be at my MacPro computer and my Mail application is open at the same time, and I go to check mail on the MacPro.... exclamation points will appear next to my Road Runner account (as if it cannot connect to that account/been disconnected to it). I either need to (A) wait a few minutes from after my phone has accessed the account, or (B) I need to shut my phone off for the exclamation points to go away and I can check mail again on the Mac. My other email account (the Bluhost one) seems unaffected and never loses connection.
Generally, if I am at my Macpro, I do not need to be checking email on my iphone, but I don't want to have to shut my phone off when I am using my Macpro at home. In summary, checking email on my iphone is temporarily disconnecting my ability to check the same email account from my Macpro.
This seems to happen whether my iPhone is connected to the 3G network or connected to my home Wifi. My MacPro is wired, running off an ethernet connection. I use an Airport Station to send out the WiFi signal.
Anyone experience similar or have suggestions?
If I need to provide more info, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance!

    You're welcome.
What I like about POP though is how it downloads an independent copy to my computer INBOX. From what I understand, IMAP keeps the copy on the server. Yes, I could create a folder in my Mail app on my computer, and drag the email to that folder, thereby saving a copy on my hard drive. But sometimes I just want to leave mails in my INBOX without having to organize.
Messages do remain on the server with an IMAP account but with the Mail.app on your Mac, there is an option to keep copies of messages for offline viewing with an IMAP account for viewing messages in server stored mailboxes when you don't have internet access with the following options - all messages and their attachments, all messages but omit attachments, only messages that have been read. Not usually required with a desktop, but a good feature to have with a laptop when traveling from location to location during periods of time without internet access.
As far as configuration, I am also using AT&T SMTP for outgoing mail on the iphone. Without the AT&T SMTP, I couldn't send mail on the 3G network trying to use the RR servers. This also works when I hook into the WiFi.
Does this work when connected to any wi-fi network regardless the internet service provider being used for internet access with various wi-fi networks that you access? If so, this is good, but not a concern with an authenticated SMTP server.
One thing that remains a bit confusing is, on my iPhone, when I send a mail to the TRASH. If I go to the Trash to read the email, I can see the subject line, but the body reads "This message has no content" -- not for all trashed messages, but most, which makes it even more confusing why some are like that and others are not.
Not sure about this one, but I don't believe this has anything to do with messages not being removed from the server when downloaded by a POP account.
