Disappearing ILOM settings

We have a number of T5120 SPARC servers where the ILOM works fine for months, years - and then suddenly all the ILOM settings just get wiped out and disappear. We are not aware of any power outages that may be affecting the servers. I had one in my cubicle that I was still setting up, and overnight the ILOM settings disappeared while it was running over night. Does any one have any information on this annoying problem?

I would think that if the server is continually powered up, the ILOM settings would remain, regardless of the battery - as I expected the one in my cubicle to do. Perhaps not. I'll check that documentation you listed - thanks.
Update: checking on the most recent system where this happened, on 25 JAN there was a PS0 fault, but on 10 FEB the ILOM was successfully accessed. No power outages in the logs since then and the ILOM was most recently accessed today when the ILOM settings were completely re-inputted because they were missing. The sensor for the battery (I assume) indicates good voltage unless there is some other battery that is not indicated in the sensor settings. So, the ILOM shows no power outages or faults since the last time the ILOM was accessed.

  • Disappearing EDGE Settings

OK, this is weird. I have an 8GB, bought in the UK with an 02 plan set up to roam. When I went abroad, I turn the phone off on the pane, then when I turn it back on, the EDGE settings have disappeared. I contacted 02 and got the detail which I loaded in and it worked: then when I flew back to the UK, once again when I turned the phone on, the EDGE settings were gone.
I can't see a lock in the phone to be able to change this permanently. Any idea?

  • Disappearing build settings?

I have just been messing around with trying to get the equivalent of "NDEBUG" working in xcode. I put NDEBUG on the preprocessor line in the build settings for the release target, and now my preprocessor settings don't even show up under build settings? I must have corrupted some file. How do I get this back?

  • Disappearing user settings

Last year I set up a mini for my wife and added it to a small network connected to my iMac. To speed things I went through the mini installation as if I were the only user and she has been operating the mini ever since. Last week I was helping her organize Quicken files and as an afterthough changed the name on the house icon from mine to hers. Big mistake. Suddenly, her internet connection was gone, her mail files disappeared, her bookmarks disappeared, her desktop items vanished. I had to reestablish her internet connection. I found the bookmarks in a file named "Metadata" but there were many more than her custom list. Her emails are available from the internet provider, all 2,000 plus dating back to 2005! I am still not clear why all this happened. Obviously, her mini thinks she is a new user and is starting everying from scratch. We have reconstructed the Bookmarks in Safari but have not had the energy to deal with the mail. Then there is the now empty Address Book, and probably more missing items.
My question is whether all her old settings still exist somewhere in the System and whether they can be resurrected? I would also like to know what happened. I have been using Macs for some years but am no technician. I know OS X is designed as a multi-user system, but our machines are all in-house and used only by my wife and myself, thus we've had no need to wall off usage of various kinds. When I want an application not in the dock, I go to the Applications icon, not the Application folder under my User icon, for that folder contains only a partial set of applications. I have never understood why this difference exists but simply ignored it to get on with the work. After the mini fiasco, I am aware I should understand better the underpinnings of OS X. But the 2-3 OS X manuals that I have do not really explain any of this. Where should I look? Thanks for any comment and all comments will be appreciated, harsh though some may be.

  • Touch id disappeared from settings menu

afetr upgrading software touch id stopped working properly and O2 suggested a hard reset, which I carried out.  Subsequent to that the functionality has disappeared from the phone.  There is no touch id section under general in the settings menu, so no way to re-scan fingerprints.

I had the exact same problem.  Touch ID completely disappeared.  Just got back from Apple store.  Not a fixable problem.  They gave me a new phone.

  • Icloud drive toggle has disappeared from settings

Now that I installed Yosemite I went to upgrade my icloud drive on my phone but the option is gone. Icloud does not work on any of the apps.
I restored from backup and still the same

Have approximately the same situation myself. Icloud drive disappeared completely from the icloud settings on my iPhone with ios 8.1.3 (after I have upgraded my iPad to ios 8.2 but maybe it's a coincidence)
Upgrading iphone to ios 8.2 did not resolve the problem.
The only thing that helped was reset to factory settings and initialize iphone as new device.
Restoring from backup introduced the problem again, so you are effectively stuck with a broken backup, forced to reinstall everything and configure all from scratch.
Not professional and not what I would have expected from apple.

  • When I access Visual Voicemail, my Personal Hotspot option disappears from settings.

Why does my Personal Hotspot option disappear when I access Visual Voicemail?  I need to reset network settings to get it back and then Visual Voicemail no longer works.
Also, does anyone know how I could disable Visual Voicemail and set the phone app's voicemail button to dial 901 instead? (as a workaround)

The iOS5 upgrade for the iphone allowed network operators to control the availability of the 'personal hotspot' feature. If your operator is one of those who charge extra for tethering (and most do) then by upgrading to ios5 you've facilitated them to remove the option for you.
Apple bowed to the demands of the opertators on this one.
I am with Tesco(O2) and as soon as I upgraded to ios5 I lost the 'personal hotspot' option.
I have the last laugh though; They cant control my Android phone so I put the Tesco mobile sim into that when I want to use tethering.
Get an Android phone or if you're in the UK use Three mobile who allow tethering.

  • Can't turn of voice dialling from locked screen. Option disappeared from settings (I-Phone 4S)

I've just updated my I-Phone 4S to the iOS 7.1 and have lost the option to turn voice dialling off - this could be found in Settings > Passcode (Passcode Lock) > Allow Access When Locked > (then turn off the) 'Voice Dialiling. BUT I only see 'Passbook', 'Reply with Message' and a blank space where voice dailling was. I also have no idea where you can turn Siri off for good as that doesn't seem to be in the settings either.
If anyone has some useful comments or suggestions please post back!
    Cheers,
    Tmalia

  • Disappearing personal settings in Safari

for like the 3rd time since i installed leopard, my personal safari settings, like user id/password for all websites it used to remember are suddenly gone! i did not even look at, nor do anything with the keychain app, nor purposely clear the cache!!! this is getting very annoying. anybody has some ideas why this is happening?

Go to your Applications>Utilities folder. Open "Disk Utility". There, select your HD on the left, then on the right, select "repair permissions".
If you notice no change over the next day or so, then I suggest you reapply the 10.4.11 Combo Update. "Repair permissions" as above when complete.
You'll find the Combo Update either here (Intel), or here (PPC).

  • ICloud, FaceTime, Facebook & Twitter disappeared in settings?

    iPhone 5 - iOS 6
Ever since upgrading to iOS 6 (even on my 4) I haven't been able to access my settings for iCloud, FaceTime, Facebook or Twitter.
They are just faded out and unable to be accessed.
It stops me from being able to tap to tweet and use the Facebook widget.
Cannot find a anything to help me on here. Can you help?

I read other discussions and after various attempts to re-start which did not work. In order for iPhone to access Facebook, tweeter, iMessage, iCloud on settings you have to go to settings>general>restrictions>scroll down and where it says ALLOW CHANGES: make sure it's not disabled if so enable to allow changes. Hope It works .

  • With latest update, personal hotspot disappeared from Settings menu

How do I get the Personal Hotspot back on the Settings menu?

So this is what I did to rectify the problem. First, do a Network Reset, this resets all network settings to factory, wait for the iPhone to reboot. Then, do a Reset All Settings, you won't lose data or media, but if you have a passcode on, it will be erased, but is easily fixed when it reboots, also note your iPhone's background will be reset to the "Water on Window" background, so you will need to change that as well, but that's about it. Wait for the iPhone to reboot, then go to Settings>General>Network>Personal Hotspot, and turn it on, then immediately connect a computer to it, then afterward disconnect, and it should still show up in the settings on the iPhone, and visible to any computer with WiFi capabilities. I just had this happen to me a few minutes ago, and this fixed it. Try it.
