Disappearing Service Interfaces and Broken Concatenate Functions,  Oh My!

Hello everyone,
So in a customer's test system I have a solution with an XML service interface. That was working fine on Friday, e.g. you could select it as the interface used when uploading a new file, could schedule the run and it'd do what it was meant to. I come back to it today and it's disappeared from the list of possible service interfaces when uploading a file. So I delete the existing service interface, recreate it, all is well. Then just now I create a service interface for a different business object in a different solution, and suddenly neither are appearing in the list of possible service interfaces! What gives?
And on an unrelated note, the string Concatenate() function seems to be broken, or at least it was yesterday. Initialising a string with a bit of text then typing, for example, "variableName.Concatenate("more text");" meant the string was empty, but typing "variableName = variableName + "more text";" worked fine. Good work, SAP, good work.
EDIT: sticking both bits of work (2x custom BO, 2x scripts, 2x service interfaces) in the same solution makes both service interfaces appear in the file input screen. So my guess is that 1502 managed to bork how service interfaces deal with multiple solutions...

  • Synchronous interface without Service Interface and Mapping

    Hi all,
Short and simple question: Is it possible to set up a synchronous interface without using Service Interfaces and (Operation and Message) Mapping?
In my case I would like to create an interface with a SOAP and File adapter.
    Cheers,
    Mac

    Hi Mac,
    >>Short and simple question: Is it possible to set up a synchronous interface without using Service Interfaces and (Operation and Message) Mapping?
Yes possible provided you have both Sync adapter as sender and receiver. For eg: Soap sender --> PI --> HTTP adapter
    >>In my case I would like to create an interface with a SOAP and File adapter.
Sync scenario using File adapter as receiver is not possible. Because File adapter works asynchronously.

  • Creating Entity Object from Service Interface - JDeveloper version 11.1.1.3

In our project, we don't intend to have any JDBC connection to a database and want to create all my entity objects using SDO web services deployed in a remote server. I could create an entity object based on a SDO web service deployed in the standalone WL server successfully. But at the time of Development, when I select ADF Business Component --> Entity Object, it always takes to a screen that prompts for a JDBC connection, if you have no connection defined in the project yet. To bypass this, I need to create a valid connection to a local DB and then I can go the next page that prompts me to to choose service interface and asks for a WSDL URL. How do I get around creating a JDBC connection and create a service interface based data source directly?
    To get around this issue, I created a connection to a local DB by providing a wrong password to make sure that we don't need a valid db connection. The application module (Business Component Browser) works fine when the DB connection is broken. But when I create a JSF page and put the data control there, if we don't have the DB connection established it gives error during deployment.I tried deleting the unused connection, but that gives a lot of errors during deployment. My question is;
    1. How can I create a service interface based data source by-passing the requirement for a connection?
    2. If that's not possible - how can I cleanly delete the JDBC connection and all it's dependencies, so that, it deploys and runs without error

    Frank,
    Thanks for your response.
I have made some progress in last two days and solved some of the original issues. I deleted the fake JDBC connection from connection.xml that I had to use to go to the second screen that lets me select the WSDL for the service interface. After that, I checked off the "Auto Generate and Synchronize ..." option from Application --> Application Properties --> Deployment. (thanks to Steve Muench's blog post on this subject). After that, I could deploy the JSF page and the page shows up with no problem.
However, when I try to run the App Module that was created from the WSDL (service interface), it brings up a pop-up with heading "Password Required" that says "Enter the password for" and asks for a user name and password (not sure what they are as they take any value and takes me to the next screen). After that, I can open the View and navigate through it. When i change some data and try to commit - it makes the change to the data and stores in the DB but gives an error saying "(oracle.jbo.NotConnectedException) JBO-25200: Application module is not connected to a database."
Also, the data control created from the service interface had operations called Commit and Rollback. I used the Commit on JSF page and that does the exact same thing too. Any idea?
Also - when we consume a SDO WSDL to create the entity object - how can we access the SOAP Request and Response objects? We have to implement WS-Security by instrumenting the SOAP header and need to get a handle on that. Is there a mechanism similar to JAX-WS handler framework for SDO?

  • Mapping in Services Interface with multiple operation... ?

    Hi ALL,
I have a SOAP to SOAP scenario here Just PI 7.1 with EHP1 acting a bus no mapping nothing .
    1) I have the WSDL file from the receiver system with multiple synchronous operations  in it ..i imported the wsdl as External Definition .. i used the same the WSDL file to create the sender Service interface also...
when i created the service interface with the operation in it , i just gave the same operation name from the WSDL.this i followed for the sender and receiver service interface.
1)now the issue is do i need any operation mapping if the service interface has more than one operation ...?
    2) I compelted the scenario without any operation mapping ..but i am getting this error ..Problem occurred in receiver agreement for sender -ICRM_D to receiver -EXACTTGETWEBSERVICE_D,http://ICRMtoExactTaetWebservice.com.si_os_ICRM_EXACTTETWEBSERVICE: No standard agreement found for , ICRM_D, , EXACTTARGEBSERVICE_D, http://ICRMtoExactarebservice.com, si_os_ICRM_EXACGETWEBSERVICE..?

  • How to create Endpoints for Inbound Service Interfaces in PI?

    Hi Gurus,
we have to publish Endpoint URLs for third party system, which have to send us SOAP Messages via HTTP. For this we need to publish Endpoints (Incoming into PI) for the third Party Systems.
I already tried to publish it out of the Sender Agreement, but this is only for Outbound Service Interfaces and not incoming. I Also tried to publish the WSDL out of the Service Interface Design, but there are no Endpoints supplied.
What can i do, to get incoming endpoints?

Once you generate the WSDL in that there will be an SOAP Action url where you can see the endpoint or the target to which message will be sent to...
only thing you need to provide them apart from WSDL is user credentials.. thats it..
they need to import the WSDL provided by PI in their application

  • Sxmb_moni - selction lists for service, interface etc. are empty

If I use the transaction sxmb_moni at XI/PI systems it is possible to get such lists of services, interfaces and namespaces if I use the selection help at the selection screen. If I click at the selection help of the sender interface column I get all my sender interfaces.
If I do the same at one of my SAP applications systems I always get the message "No values found" Is this normal (by design) or is there a configuration error?

  • Multiple Operation in Service Interface

    Hi Experts,
    Here is the problem -
Scenario:      SOAP Adapter-> PI (7.1) -> XI Adapter -> ERP Proxy
We have defined multiple operation in Service Interface using Interface pattern "Stateless".
Message posted using SOAP adapter goes through PI alright. But on ERP is throws the error saying "No implementing class registered for the interface"
    Well the checklist-
    1. Proxy class generated/re-generated. Class/Interface/Methods all activated.
    2. If I remove all the operation from Service interface and just have one with the same name as Service Interface (which is also default when you create new service interface) it works fine.
    Any idea guys ?
    Regards.

    Hi Sreenivas,
I appreciate your promptness in answering the query.
    1. And I know that if you select Stateless (XI 3.0), in the service interface you just can't have multiple operations.
    2. ID contents are generated fine (I dont do it manually. I just import the scenario from ESR).
Please, first test yourself and let me know if you succeed or point me to some document explaining that.
    Regards.

  • Add Service interface

    Hello folks,
In PI 7.1 there is a new naming for message interface which is the Service interface.
When i create a Business service : i can add sender and receiver Service interfaces.
But if i create a Technical system in SLD and assign Business system to it . I cannot add Sender and Reciever Service interfaces to a Business System ( there is no + or - button to add sender or receiver service interfaces in a Business system). Is this how Business systems work or there is something wrong with the PI system?
    regards

    HI,
In case of business service you have to manually add the corresponding(inbound/outbound) service interfaces in ID(configuration). Business service has nothing to do with SLD.
But in case of business system, which you define in SLD, while defining Business system in SLD, you have to add software components(including the one where you have your service interface and other design objects) so when you will go to configuration there your service interface will be automatically listed fron this entry, which you have made in SLD.

  • Service Interfaces not showing in the IP when imported in ID in PI7.1

    HI Experts,
I have developed an Integration process(IP) in ESR using some Service interfaces and Operation mapping for implementing BPM.
I am trying to import the IP into my Integration Directory. But the imported Integration process(which is now as good as a Business Service) does not show the Interfaces i have used in the BPM in the ESR.
Without the interfaces being attached to the IP, i cannot create RD and ID's.
This is the first time BPM is being configured in this server.
Please guide me if there are any settings specific to ccBPM to be done in ECC.
Please help me resolve this issue... i am in a crictical condition to meet the deadline..
    Thanx in advance,
    Nandan

    Hi Neetesh,
Thanx for your reply. If there are any initial settings to be done in PI, please list them so that i can check if they exist in our system.
Also, when i check(f7) my IP , its showing a message that " Container element my_interface in step Send1 is initialized but is not used ". Is this a concern ?
I have copy pasted my interface names in the RD and InterfaceDtrmn in my ID and completed the ID part of configuration. When i test the BPM by triggering my Purchase Orders from my sender service,it is showing the following error in moni:
    "<SAP:Category>XIAdapter</SAP:Category>

  • Any possiblity to use single Inbound Service Interface with multiple Receiver Agreements

    Hi All,
    Scenario: PROXY to FILE.
Requirement is to receive to two locations.
Is it possible to use single Inbound interface with multiple Receiver Agreements. I tried using two operation in the Inbound Service Interface, and Operation Specific in Determination. But couldnt proceed further. Do I need to use seperate Service Interface for two receiver locations?
    Please suggest some solution.

    Hi Naveen,
There is a possibility but in the case in the same server location with dynamic configuration: Placing file in two different directories using single receiver communication Channel
With different location you would need to develop a new adapter module as Amit Srivastava explains and develops here Send File to Two Different Locations using Adapter Module

I have looked at web.xml, weblogic.xml, but couldn't figure out the issue.
Our packaging structuring is some like this.
    Model -> Contains EO's, associations
UIModel -> Contains AM, VO's Webservices
    UI -> Jsp, taskflows.

  • SPROXY not recognizing new Service Interfaces

    Hi all,
We are currently on SAP_BASIS 7.0 connecting to XI 3.0 on SP18.  I have created a new inbound asynchronous message interface within XI and want to create a server proxy on the SAP side to consume the message from XI.  When I execute the SPROXY transaction to import the XI message interface, it is not displayed under the service interface and not allowing me to generate this.  Existing proxies exist under other service interfaces created since the upgrade but it doesn't seem to recognize that I created a new message interface in XI.  Would this be a compatibility issue with SAP_BASIS 7.0/ECC6 to XI 3.0 SP18 or would do I need to refresh something?  Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nate

1.Recreate the name space with other name else than sap.com
    2. check whether ur namespace is displayed in light Grey Color
then there may be connection to SAP XI issue.
yes if it is in Light gray colour, you will get a status message as "NO CONNECTION TO INTEGRATION BUILDER (ONLY GENERIC DATA VISIBLE)
check whether the proxy objects are created under seperate package

  • PI 7.1 "stateless" service interfaces prerequisites and limitations

are there  any prerequisites and limitations for "stateless" Service interfaces.
We are directly implementing PI 7.1, (i.e not upgrading form 7.0 or 3.0).
so for all our service interfaces, shall we safely use tne interface pattern "statelss" instead of "Stateless(xi 3.0 compatible)".
if use the "stateless", are there any addition prerequisites or constraints/limitations.
can we use abap proxies, java proxies, providing webservices via xi, and consuming other webserivces in xi, all adapters, asynch, synch scenarios with "stateless" interface patterns.
In short, are there any things that can be done using "Stateless(xi 3.0 compatible)" and cannot be done using  "stateless" interface
are there any specific requirements for using "Stateless(xi 3.0 compatible)" even in newly implemented PI 7.1
    thanks in advance,
    Madhu.

When it is an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 the default Interface pattern is Stateless (XI 30 Compatible)
Using Stateless Interface Patterns wont cause any harm/ restriction on any of the development.
The only twist will be in the way a condition is specified in the Receiver Determination.
For any Interface pattern (other than Stateless(XI30 Compatible)) you wont be able to see the message structure in the Condition Editor of Receiver Determination. All other functionality (Async, Sync, Proxy) will be available.
In such a case Condition should be specified as shown in this blog: /people/abhishek.salvi/blog/2009/07/15/sap-pi71-receiver-determination-xpath-and-you

  • Enterprise Services, Service Operations and Functional Business Component

    Hi,
in the Enterprise Service desing guide (see https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/40c05360-0501-0010-63bd-aedd415b6e05 ) the relations between Enterprise Services and Service Operations are covered.
I understand that one Enterprise Service consists of one or  more Service Operations. For Example General Ledger Processing ES offers seven Service Operations. (See Solution Composer)
Functional Business Components offer one or more Enterprise Services and several Service Operations. As mentioned in the Design Guide, an Enterprise Services is dedicated to a certain Functional Business Component. An Enterprise Service could use several Service Operations of  one ore more Functional Business Components.
When browsing the Solution Composer I couldn't discover any Enterprise Service that uses Service Operations of more than one Functional Component.
Here's my question: Does anyone know an Enterprise Service  described in the Solution Composer which uses Service Operations of several Functional Business Components? If there aren't any, why?
    Regards,
    Sebastian

    Sebastian,
I haven't looked through the entire set of preview services, but most of what I have seen is consistent with what you are describing. I think the short answer is the ESA preview system is really a pre-release of the intial ESR which itself is essentially an extension of XI's integration repository. These are basically the finer grained object and interface level services.
SAP should be releasing some significant content updates to this ESR after NW2004S goes GA later this year. More importantly the next edition of the ESR tied to the BPP release will greatly expand on the scope including containing the more complex service defintions and process models which cut across components that you are looking for.

  • MS Word Web Service Interface: bad format of date and currency fields

    Hi,
I am using MS Word Web Service interface to create contract documents. However, my date and currency fields show in a strange format. Date is in"YYYY-MM-DD" format, while currencies always have "." as decimal separator (probably technical values). My user settings are "DD.MM.YYYY" for dates and "n.nnn,dd" for decimal numbers.
My workaround is to create a Z structure for WS interface with char fields and then do conversion through CRM_WST_RT_BADI->OUTBOUND_PROCESSING method. This works, but requires a lot of custom development.
Is there a way to "tell" the interface to use correct formats in MS Word without doing it all manually through custom fields?
    Thanks!
    KR,
    Igor

    Oh, indeed!
We might be closer than you think - I live close to Croatian-Slovenian border so we might pop out for a drink! But we can discuss this out of forum...
    Now work again:
Is there any documentation on possible formatting keywords? I suppose it's possible to set up decimal places, custom date formats etc.
    Cheers,
    Igor
