Disappointed: Empower E-mail Reader PRO Tech Support

I just wanted to say how disappointed I am with Empower's Technical Support for their E-mail Reader "PRO" (and I use the term loosely) software. I downloaded the trial version, really liked it and immediately purchased the full version for $29.99. I received no key, no SN, no PW. But they took my $$$. Now I can't upgrade from the trial to the full version and Tech support has been totally worthless on the issue. It's obvious I don't have their attention. I purchased their software after reading many posts which rated the software highly as well as the tech support. Unfortunately, that didn't happen for me. As soon as the trial version expires (and who knows when that will be) I'm going to delete it and purchase BBSmart like I should have done in the first place! Really, really disappointed but that's just my opinion.

Update: Everyone is always quick to say when they're not happy. We also need to be just as quick to congratulate when we ARE happy. Empower's Tech Team did come through.  They found a way for me to manually register the software and inside of 30 seconds it was done.  So Kudos to the Team and thank you.

    Hi I am also in the UK, but not with Tiscali and am having the exact same problems. I can also send with wifi, but not 3G. I have tried amending all sorts of settings, including those above and amending the smtp server to the settings for my provider, but all to no avail.
    It is thoroughly frustrating, as I cannot send emails unless I have wifi access.
    Any further suggestions would be very welcome.

    After receiving an HTML weekly online newsletter with no problems for months, I suddenly got a LISTSERV message asking me to confirm that my e-mail account actually does exist. The message said the error was this: Your e-mail reader does not support MIME. Please upgrade.
    Since I have the latest version of Leopard (which I sincerely wish I had NEVER installed, but that's another topic), I don't know what I am supposed to upgrade to!
    In addition to this, when other people forward me e-mail messages, the series of e-mails they forward now appears as a MIME attachment. I can get to it by double-clicking on the attachment, but it's a pain.
    Any suggestions?? Many thanks.

    f I choose to see the emails I send to my hotmail account on the internet on my computer and not on the phone, I can see that everything should be okay, everything gets received exactly as it should. And if I select feature on my Nokia E72, which means that I can "hear" the email, I hear the e-mail has all the words and phrases in the email I sent to the e-mail account on the phone. Strange! : (

    Are you intending to blank out all the proprietary info?  IPs, Hostnames etc? 
    Suggest an advanced editor such as ultraEdit which can find and replace any private information.

    Hi folks,
    I have Mac's forever, finally got my aging technophobic parents to switch from PC to Mac. So now they have MacBook Pro with OS 10.5.4 just like on my MacBook. They've been having problems setting up e-mail, printer, etc. Hard to help talk them thru stuff by phone. I suspect that I could remotely access their computer but I don't know how. Both of us have broadband cable modem internet service. I already looked at Mac Help, but the remote access stuff appears to involve only those on the same local network. We're 200 miles away, with 2 different local broadband cable internet service providers. But we ought to be able to do this with software and capabilities already onboard, right? Please advise.     Use iChat Screen Sharing. Assuming you also have Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) installed on your Mac.
    Go to http://www.aim.com and get yourself and your parents a Free AOL Instant Messenger account. If you do all the work, it will make it easier when you have to talk your parents through the next part.
    Configure iChat on your Mac. Also add your parents as a Buddy (iChat -> Buddies -> Add Buddy...)
    Now with the knowledge fresh in your mind, talk your parents though configuring iChat on their Mac. Then have them add you as a Buddy.
    Now you should be able to select your parents in the Buddy list, and at the bottom of the buddy list is an icon of 2 overlaping squares. This is the screen sharing icon. Click it and you parents will get a request to share their screen with you.
    Once you have control of their screen you can do all the work of configuring their system. You can also walk them through using their Mac letting them do the work while you watch.
    You can also do text, audio, or Video chats with your parents via iChat.
    I originally setup my Mom's iChat so she could do video chats with my brother and Mom's grandkids. Turns out I now do more text chats with my Mom than anything else. I see her come on-line, I say "Hi", and we have a quick chat about the weather or something trivial. I'm actually more in touch with my Mom than I've been in years, just because I can say "Hi" via iChat

    Try this from MacFixIt as well:
    In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
    * Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
    * Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear.

    For several hundred productions, Pr CS6 worked perfectly for me.  Now, for some unknown reason, when I attempt to render video, the render progress window continually shows more and more frames to be processed.  Therefore when I get to 80% rendered it drops back to 70% and increases the total frames in the render.... over and over, so that I never get past 99% rendered... regardless of how long I let it process.

  • Very disappointed after 7 calls to Tech support!

    I bought My Lenovo G560 on April 2011 and have since then had to call tech support  7 times, out of which in four of those occasions the tech support rep asked me to use the One Key recovery to solve the problem. When they checked my warranty, they had in file that it had expired.  Luckily, I had my receipt.  When I called back again, they asked me to do the recovery one more time.   Seriously?  You have in your system that a laptop had to be recovered four times and you still ask your client to hit the one key recovery again?  Isn't that supposed to be your last resort??  I am so disappointed at this company!  
    I bought the Lenovo, because I thought that it had to be good with IBM behind it, but my experience with this laptop has been awful.  The last time it stopped working,  I was in the middle of a job, so I had to run to the store to buy another computer so that I could finish it.  Now, I would just like to have this computer fixed or replaced.  Can someone, please, do something about it?

    Back in December I was told Lenovo would contact me to resolve this issue in a couple of days.  I am still waiting for that contact.  My computer is still not working properly. 
    I have invested more than 20 hours with CSR's by now and plenty more on my own, plus the many headaches that come from having your computer stop working in the middle of a task.  This is a shame.  I would certainly not recommend this product to anyone; not because the computer is bad (a lemon can come out of any company), but because Lenovo has done nothing about the issue and every rep just asks me to hit the recovery button.  I am thinking that the problem lies in that the company does not give the power to the reps to really help the customers.  Reps are just asked to be pleasant, but not given the power to really do what is right for customers (and ultimately the brand). 
     For the last time, will Lenovo be doing anything regarding this issue?  It's been going on now for several months and still not one person has done anything about it. This computer is a lemon.  We removed all programs and, as per the recommendation of several tech support reps, have hit the recovery button three times (thus erasing all programs and having to invest time in backups and reinstalls, etc).  This computer is not even a year old.  Still, all techs are very pleasant and nice as can be, but no one has taken responsibility for the issue and done what is necessary to fix the laptop

  • Very Disappointed in Verizon Tech Support re: iPhone Visual Voicemail

    I receive a new iPhone 4S with no voicemail capabilities. I take it into the Verizon store and they are nice enough to call tech support with me and do a restore and all of that. Tech support says my phone is "a lemon" and I have to go into Apple and get a new one and that they would give me one for free, no big deal. Okay, no big deal. 
    So I go into Apple and get a new phone, but it's *not* free. It's $162. Fine. I need voicemail. No big deal (this time with gritted teeth).
    I pay the $162 and get the new phone and activate it. Still no voicemail!
    So the Apple genius calls Verizon Tech Support. Nobody knows what's going on. We work our way up the chain and finally get someone who fixes the problem which is an issue with Verizon's network.
    So I'm out $162. I have a new phone I did not need and I wasted about 2 hours solving an issue that took less than 2 minutes to actually fix.
    I realize that everyone is human. I'm trying to decide whether to let it go or to pursue some some of compensation. I'm guessing that's futile as I have no record of anything.
    To make this more useful than just a kvetch:  VISUAL VOICEMAIL is a NETWORK ISSUE with Verizon and has absolutely nothing to do with the device itself. Just in case you find yourself with the same problem.
    And out of curiosity, has anyone else had this problem?

    It's NOT Verizon....  You are talking about the iPhone which runs a different system than what Verizon offers for Android and other devices.  You need to contact Apple to fix your issue.  Apple uses their own servers for their iPhones which are owned, run, and maintained by them.  They offer the service for "free" to get people locked into their ecosystem.

    1 Year ago I bought an HP DV6 Intel Core 2 Duo Laptop for roughly $1000. The Unit immediately started having problems! I bought the laptop from CostCo. They literally waited until the day after the 90-Day Return Policy expired to call me back after I called them days earlier! I bought my HP for Video Editing and Rendering, the Unit would heat up to 194F when doing normal tasks like web-Browsing, and would get up to 212F when trying to render video! Me and my Farther who used to work for HP for R & D have spent hours on the phone, getting the run-around from CostCo to HP, Back to Costco, and then to Costco's 3rd Party tech support who don't care and do not have any power to do anything! The Power supply is underrated for the Laptop, not being able to give the Laptop even half of the power to properly run and charge the laptop. Over 2 months the CPU was trying to compensate for the Extreme Lack of Power, and burned up most of the internal components. Because of this, the Laptop CANNOT BE REPAIRED, NOR CAN IT BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE NEWER UNITS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AND ARE MORE EXSPENSIVE. This puts me in a Twilight-Zone esc Grey-Area where my 2 Year Limited Hardware Manufactures Defect warranty will not cover a refund. It's get's better, I HAVE BEEN TOLD OVER THE PHONE AND BY HP REPS I HAVE A "LEMON" WHICH I HAVE BEEN TOLD MEANS THE LAPTOP WAS DEFECTIVE BEFORE IT LEFT THE FACTORY IN CHINA. AND STILL I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANY MONEY BACK FOR MY $1000 PAPER WHEIGHT THAT IS ALSO A FIRE-HAZARD! MY BATTERY IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST, MY POWER SUPPLY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND BOTH HAVE BURNT-OUT AT HIGH TEMPS, AND I CANNOT EVEN CHARGE THE LAPTOP BECAUSE THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR A 3RD POWER SUPPLY WHICH THEY HAVE TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE IS DEFECTIVE! Hopefully he will be able to expose HP and their Products to be Faulty, Unreliable, and the Horrid Truth behind HP's business Practices!

  • What is the problem with Adobe Customer/Tech support for Premiere Pro?!?!?!

    Today Adobe closed the NINTH support ticket - since mid-January - on my problem with Premiere Pro CC - it crashes on startup (just after the splash screen loads). From what I gather on here, I am not alone with this problem. It's apparently rather common!
    I've left message after message and, as I said, NINE tech support tickets (most recent #0185443350). All have been closed or withdrawn without ANY help, reply or solution. Yet my monthly Cloud charge is reliably withdrawn from my bank account!
    I need access to a working program! I use this in my studio business and my customers have been waiting since the end of January! This is now costing me money and customers!
    Adobe - Apparently you don't particularly care about your customers. I am NOT impressed and, at this point, I'm starting get a little pissed off. It's been almost six months and.....NOTHING!
    And YES, all of my drivers are up to date, etc. I've reinstalled. Updated drivers. Etc etc etc, ad nauseum!

  • As a Realtor I can't access documents on our ARMLS web site, the tech support say it is an adobe reader issue?

    For some reason, suddenly I can't access the documents tab on our ARMLS web site. I called Tech support for the Flex web site and they say they can open the tab and read the docs fine.
    They are saying it is an Adobe issue on my computer. I un installed adobe and reloaded but the same result.

    still can not read any PDF documents loaded to this site.
    I have not tried un installing adobe but that is next, then reinstalling
    while in Explorer.
