Disappointed that drivers are not availa

Earlier this year I bought a Creative SoundBlaster card to replace an older one I had. Since 996 I have purchased various Creative produces (sound card, CD writers, etc.) because of the excellent support that I have come to expect in the past.
Yesterday my system suffered from a hard dri've crash, and all of my hardware drivers needed to be replaced. The CD for my sound card was lost late this summer when moving (the moving company lost several boxes).
Tonight, I came to the Creative web site to obtain the drivers I need for my sound card. Unfortunately it appears that if there is no update that Creative will not provide the driver for the card. And, instead, offers this message:

Appearently, the era of Creative's world class excellence in after purchase support, is now a thing of the past. Amd your marketing people think that charging for simple drivers is worth the negai've impact that it will have on customer loyality.
I'm sure that your market8ing people will make arguments such as, "well, with the cost of providing these drivers... etc, etc, etc," and work like hell trying to justify charging for simple drivers for a product that has alreday been purchased. The fact is, this action by Creative is just pure greed, plan and simple. :^/
So, this is to let you know that you have lost me as a customer for any future purchases. Tomorrow, I will be purchasing a new sound card, and will make sure that the manufacturer provides immediate online access to their drivers.

I think what I'm so angry about is the inconvenience they've incorporated into their support. If I could down;load the drivers on line for $2 or $3 I'd complain, grumble, and pay the few dollars. But to buy a CD, and wait a week or two before applying the drivers, is absolutely absurd.
I'm sure that if asked, everybody at Creative will point at everybody else, or complain about raising costs and so on (as if automated content deli'very were a raising cost). But chances are, this is the "brain child" of some guy in their marketing department.
I'm actually glad this happened now, because I'm going to be upgrading my video card soon, and I would have hated something like this to happen with an expensi've video card.

  • Why am I told that fonts are not available when the file was originally created in Fireworks?

    I get the "Fonts not available" message when I open up a document, i.e. open up a png document in the program/computer/etc. where the program was created in the first place.
    I don't get this. How can the fonts not be available when I'm using the same program that used these fonts originally? Having said that, the appearance doesn't seem to change.

    Are the fonts in question installed on your computer?
    Fonts are not part of a program, fonts are installed on a system. Once installed, a font is available to any program that uses fonts. If you're opening a document that was made in the same program, but on a different system, using fonts you do not have installed, then you will get that message.
    So... Are you opening a document that you created? Are you opening the document on the same system on which the document was created? Have you made any changes to the installed fonts (installed or uninstalled any fonts)?
    What version of Fireworks are you using and what OS are you running it on?

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 drivers are not installed

    I've the problem that drivers are not installed by PXE staging. I'm 100% sure I've the correct drivers. I've installed them over a pendrive without any problem but, SCCM doesn't install any driver, also I receive no error message. I see that the drivers
    are downloaded during the staging process but after the driver installation step nothing is installed. I have this problem on all hardware types and devices. It's ever the same. The task sequenze is also correct. We checked that again and again.
    First I loaded the whole driver package (including all drivers for this hardware tag) => dosen't work.
    Have deleted all drivers and assigend just the exact network driver to the categorie ==> dosen't work.
    Had also an SCCM specialist in the house which analyzed this issue but, he also cannot explain what could be the reason. He has never seen such a problem and he has installed a lot of SCCM2012 environments.
    Has anyone an idea or maybe similar problems?

    I got now an answer from Microsoft. It really seems like the setup installation is no longer supported for Windows 7 like Thomas said.
    The better formulation in the WhatsNew in SP1 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj591552.aspx#BKMK_WhatsNewSP1_Software) would be:
    The build and capture task sequence was updated to apply an operating system image instead of running Setup.exe for installation. You can only
    still run Setup.exe for Windows 8 deployments by editing the task sequence in the task sequence editor.
    First I thought this would be a joke but seems so. I was able to very that it will work if you use an image. With the image all drivers were installed and the task sequence ended without any error.
    I loaded the install.wim from the original CD as image install and used the OSDPreserveDriveLetter setting like Thomas said.
    I asked Microsoft for an official statement if this install type would be supported by Microsoft or what the recommended way is to create the golden image by using SCCM. At the moment I’m waiting for the final answer. I don’t want to use
    unsupported installation methods for my customers.
    I will post the answer from Microsoft after I got it.
    We all could be happy that we now have Windows 8 and all Company want to install Windows 8 at all systems otherwise we have to wait until we get a supported way. ;.)

    It's pretty difficult to offer suggestions when you say nothing about your Mac, the version of Mac OS it's running, or the models of printers you have. This forum, however, is intended for questions about old, pre-G3 hardware, so unless you are asking about an very old Mac, this is not the forum where you'll be most likely to get help with your problem. I'd suggest you ask this question in the forum for your model of Mac or version of Mac OS X it's running. You'll be more likely to get assistance there, assuming you provide sufficient detail for anyone to make a diagnosis of the problem.

    I cannot find the answer anywhere. You need to  give answers to how to fix these errors because when I  "search" "error code" or the number there is NOTHING. NOTHING!  Yet you give us these stupid error codes
    then you do not give us ANYTHING on how to fix these. These error codes make me so mad it makes me hate outlook, and hate the developers and hate microsoft.  How in the world can you give us ERROR codes without the explanation of what
    to do or how to fix it. You need to  add each  error code number in your "search" then explain what it is and how to fix it.  I am not a tech. I am a lawyer. I have googled the entire string of error code and nothing is clear.

    I understand how frustrated you are when facing such an issue, maybe I can provide some suggestions on the problem.
    Based on the description, you should be using an IMAP account setup in Outlook. As for the error message, usually it's caused by a corrupted message on the Server. I suggest you logon the Webmail site, check if sending/receiving emails works well.
    If you find any unusual emails that cannot be read or sent, try deleting them to try again.
    I also suggest you create a new profile to setup the IMAP account:

    Contact your Email Service Provider to get the correct and latest account settings, since you have been using Outlook for years, some settings may have been changed while you haven't been informed.

    Your content will only be where you put it.  It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
    You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
    You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
    You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
    You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer.  You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

    I just checked to see if the update to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 solved any of the issues outlined in my previous post, and to my dismay, nothing has changed -- all of the previous problems persist.
    My iMac (8) -- it's renamed itself eight times since the recent troubleshoot with the Apple tech rep -- shows up as a shared device in Finder on my MacBook Pro, but when I click on it, I cannot establish a connection using "Connect As".  So I've attempted to connect using the menu "Go/Connect to Server...", using both (alternately) the iMac's name and IP address, to no avail.  I get a message which reads: "There was a problem connecting to the server 'Peter's iMac (8)'. This server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time.  Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
    Here's what I know:
    The server -- Peter's iMac (8) does exist;
    The server -- Peter's iMac (8) is available at this time;
    The server name -- Peter's iMac (8) -- is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
    The server IP address is correct, as specified in the system sharing preferences;
    The network connection is active when I attempt to connect.
    I'm convinced the problems stem directly from the OS X Yosemite update.  None of this was ever remotely an issue in the previous OS X's -- any of them.  This is maddening!  What can be done?  Apple?? Anyone???

    Have you deleted anything from your iTunes library ? Have you checked to see if they are still on your computer, but not listed in your iTunes library ?
    If not then do they show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for redownloading ? If they don't show there and others do and they are still in your country's store, then check to see if they are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
    If they are no longer in your store for redownloading (or you aren't in a country where music videos can be redownloaded) then you will need to copy them back from your backup of your library/downloads.
