Disco Plus switched to Danish for connection login screen

I have a user who created a connection in Discoverer Plus 9i, and left the locale at the default value of "set in user's browser". When he clicked the connection link, he got the login screen in Danish. We're in the US, and his browser language is set at English (United States).
I had him change the 'nlsl=da-dk' portion of his URL to 'nlsl=en-us' and refresh the page, and it switched to English, but is there any explanation as to why this happened in the first place? I told him to try setting his connection locale to English, but I haven't heard yet if he's done so, and if so, did it fix the issue.

I have also tried the following:
1) Bounced application and db. Still error
2) $ cd $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin
$ perl ojspCompile.pl compile flush -p 2

3) adconfg for application layer
Still error
4) adconfg for db layer and then application layer.
Stil error.
5) applied patch 6971036. Ran autoconfig
Error
The error has continued to be the same.
Can please somebody help me urgently.

Anyone have any solutions for connecting TWO (2) individual displays to a MacBook Pro? I am currently using "Matrox Power Desk" but this thing *****! I have two Apple 23" Displays (they're older, probably from 2006ish) and want a better method for connecting them both to my MacBook Pro.

Sql usage for user login screen in uix

I am very new to Jdeveloper so many things remain a mystery at this point. I'm using version 9.0.3.3.
I implemented a login screen using the example supplied in the uix developer guide and the solution works great except for the un-implemented method from the sample java program
if (password.equals(getPasswordForUser(userName)))
I need some help in how to implement this method. Conceptually, it is simple. Just a sql statement that searches the user file for a match on user name and password and either returns a single row or nothing.
The user interface screen works and passes down the user id and password and I made the java program work by hard coding in the user id and password rather than go to the database.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you figured this out, please share some code. In a nutshell I have some code that does not work, and have posted several questions on forum. So far no luck. The only way I made it work is to have dummy binding of USERS VO on my login page. Weird?

Login page message for all login screens

Hi - were looking at opening up APEX in our organisation and expect that we may get 10's if not hundres of workspaces running (everyone doing their own thing). In order to control this we want to have a general set of Terms and conditions on the login front page. Does anyone know how the generic login can be modified to do this across all workspaces - alternatively we could use the password change screen also if that was possible.

Use the Site Administration page at Home>Manage Service>Messages and put a custom message there. This message will appear on the workspace login page.

I'm trying to save user name and password on a site with a pop-up for a login screen but it clears too quickly after submitting to reach the remember pw button.

When I log in to point click care, for example, the site requires a password to electronically sign a document. This has the option to store the password immediately after clicking the "sign" button but the whole window clears as soon as I submit it which consequently clears the remember password dialogue box therein. I would like to manually add the password to the list, is it possible? Can it be made possible? Several hundred of these a month and typing an involved password gets pretty old.

Do you still see the Key icon on the location/address bar to open the remember password doorhanger?

HT5017 does not work for first login screen after boot

I did not move the home folder to /var because I am not sure it will be backed up by time machine, but in any case, the first log-in screen keeps showing all accounts. 10.8

I updated to 3.6.4 and when I went to NetFlix to watch the next show of a series, it said
something like
Installation complete, restart your browser.
I restarted browser, same problem. Restarted comp. Same problem.
I updated Adobe Flash 10.1, still same problem.
But able to watch some vids on other sites, but full screen gave me the big blank white screen with audio only, had to click around in the dark ( so to speak) to find the minimize button.
I did a System Restore to before the Firefox and Adobe updates.
I then did not update Firefox as recommended and went to NetFlix and wellah, i can view the movies again.
And Full Screen is fine.
I then experimented and updated Firefox only, went to NetFlix and got same msg with no viewable shows.
So did a System Restore once more.
Staying at 3.6.3 for a while longer until I know I can watch my movies.
I don't own a TV, so this is my only form of an occasional escape.
I do hope this is figured out soon.
With what I have done, it seems to be Firefox, Not Flash.

Switch port configuration for 3500i AP

Hi,
We are due to install a brand new enterprise WLAN based on the WiSM2 platform, 3502i AP and WCS. The APs will be plugged into the 2960S-24TPS-L.
I have scanned over all documentation and cannot for the life of me find a recommended switch port configuration for connecting the AP to the switch in terms of speed / duplex etc. For example, should I just configure the port to auto detect, or is forcing the speed / duplex the way to go. I could also do with knowing other best practice configurations for AP connectivity.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The AP comes online with just auto detect, but I want to know if there are any benefits to forcing this to 1Gbps / Full duplex, or even if this is the right way to go. I suspect auto detect is the best method.

Keyboard problem with Mac os 10.7 + FileVault to + login screen

I have a problem with the login screen, the keyboard is recognized as a English keyboard but I have a french keyboard. The menu to change keyboard language is not displayed on login screen since 10.7.2.
During the session the keyboard is French, it's only for the login screen.
How can I fix this and switch my keyboard layout to French in login screen ?

How did you find out the keyboard layout changed to English? I had a similar problem with my first login after enabling FileVault, and now I think this might be a cause? I have a Spanish keyboard.

Keyboard lighting at the login screen?

Hi,
I have a mid 2011 MBA with 10.7.4. Lion used to have the feature where the keyboard light had its own setting for the login screen. This way I could set it so that the light was on at the login screen and went off right after logging in.
After installing ML today it seems that this is not the case anymore. If I switch off the light in my account, the light is off also at the login screen. Is it supposed to be like that? I guess, there's no setting for this in ML?

Could someone please test this? Resetting SMC and PRAM didn't change the situation.

Can't always see network accounts at login screen

I just got a Mac Mini Server for my home network. This is my first time setting up an account server and first time using OS X Server. My server is running Lion, my client is running ML.
I have network accounts setup on the server and working. The home directories are on the server. I don't seem to have any issues, other than making the network accounts (I only have 4) show up on my client login screen. In other words, if I use "Other" to type in my login information, I can login just fine. I have enabled the "show network accounts" feature on my client.
Interestingly, if I am logged in via any user on the client (network or local), using fast user switching to go to the login screen ALWAYS shows the network users. Only on boot, or when all users are logged out, do I have this problem of the network accounts not showing up. Even then, they do occasionally show up.
Is there a known bug here? I've gone through several tutorials, it seems I've done all that is required.

I seem to have isolated the issue.
I was using wireless for both server and client, so I switched both to ethernet to eliminate any possible issues there. No change.
Then after some more experimenting I realized my original statement

was incorrect. It turns out I have to be logged in with a local user for the network users to show up. So I went back and experimented with the Login Window options I configured in Profile Manager. Here is how I had my client configured.
If I enable "Show computer's administrators", or if I disabled "Show local users", the problem goes away. The problem only exists when I have one or the other, but not both, options enabled. So it seems there is a bug on the client, or there is a bug in the profile that Profile Manager is pushing to the client.
Another interesting tid bit. I temporarily changed the local user on the client to an administrator. That left the client with two administrators and no standard users. The problem went away. Turning that user back into a standard user, and the problem came back.
So there's one combination of options here that isn't working. In the long run I won't have any local users anyway, so it won't matter. This only affects me now while I'm migrating things.

Login screen input sources

Whenever I log out of OS X it changes my input source from Colemak to back to English and removes Colemak from the login input sources menu.
This is infuriating and as prematurely balding man I have little hair left as it but this is driving me made.
This didn't previously happen under earlier versions of OS X.
Can anyone suggest a solution to force the default layout to Colemak for the login screen and help save what's left of my barnet?

Hi, we have two accounts on the Mac at home and my account worked well with the new Mac App Store. The other account met the "Login Screen Not Accepting Input." problem.
Both accounts have administrator rights.
I followed your advice about the
com.apple.storeagent.plist
com.apple.appstore.plist
trashed the babies, rebooted the stuff and…
It did not arrange anything on the account which already did not work.
and… the worst part of the cake :
It somewhat scr*wed-up my own account… I cannot even log on the Mac App Store, saying :
+"Unable to find and connect to the agent.+
+Is it running?"+
I checked : both have been recreated on the Prefs folder (and the cookie's for the com.apple.appstore.plist
This one does not seem to resolve any problem in that case. :!

Is there a way to permanently change the input language in the login screen?

Whenever I start my iMac with Mavericks, after the boot is complete and the login window appears, I have the change the language in the top right corner from US to DE, else I can't type in my password. Mavericks does not remember this setting, next time after startup I have to do it again. The original owner of this Mac was using US as input language, so I guess that's where it's coming from. This extra step of changign language only takes a few seconds, but many times I forget it and try to enter my password but it will not work. There must be a console command or somethign that can fix this? Thank you!

Is there a way to hide users from the FileVault 2 ''main boot'' login screen?

After your entire disk is encrypted with FileVault 2, there is a now a ''main'' boot login screen with users displayed--after a full shutdown/restart--as opposed to a ''normal'' login screen when logging users in and out after booting into FileVault 2.
If that made any sense...there was a way to hide users from the ''normal'' login screen before by running this Terminal command:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow \ HiddenUsersList -array-add xxxx
(xxxx being a short user's name)
How do I do this now for the login screen that comes up on a full/shutdown restart?

Not really, but you can move them from the home screen to, say, the 4th, or 10th screens. But you do need to have at least one app in every screen on the phone. My idea was to have several blanks before the screen with her apps, but the phone doesn't allow this.
Sounds like time for the Iron Fist. ::grin:: Putting your foot down. Funny how those two descriptions don't quite match up. Our 5 year old son loves to use the iPhone, and with consistent training we have minimal trouble when he doesn't want to quit.

Maverick update now my login screen does not work please help.

Hello hope you can help. I have a 24 inch Mid 2007 Intel iMac. It has been great until now. I recently did the Maverick update and now my login screen does not work. When I wake the computer up the screen appars with my picture icon. When I click on it nothing happens. If I click on it a second or third time the beach ball appears and nothing happens. I have to shut the unit down with the power button and when the unit powers back up everything works normally. Are there any suggestions out there? I have updated the software without resolution. Is this computer too old? Do I have to buy a new one?

Your iMac can support Mavericks according to the requirements > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
Try a Safe Mode boot. That deletes some system caches that may help.
Startup your Mac in Safe Mode
A Safe Mode boot takes much longer than a normal boot so be patient.
Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple () menu.
See if there's an improvement for the login screen.

Password Nightmares in Login Screen

Hello All:
For some reason, my computer is not recognizing the login password for the login screen.
*I get to the point which asks for the master password, which I type in correctly.
* P.S. The screen says "type the master password to reset this user's password and to unlock FileVault"
* A screen pops up that says "Changing the password for this user account creates a new keychain to save passwords."
* I click Ok.
* The screen is now asking me to enter a new password, verify password, and give an optional hint.
* I enter a new password and verify, but then the gray window nods side to side.
I tries this several times and nothing is working.
Any help is appreciated.
