Discontinuation functionality with production orders

Dear Guru's,
Can anyone please confirm: is the functionality for discontinuation of a material (including follow-up material) not available with production orders?
Example: in our system we have component A that is followed up by component B. This is set in material master - MRP 4.
We also have production orders for the upcoming 4 months in our system. If the stock of component A is depleted within these 4 months, we would expect to see requirements (orderreservations?)  on component B, but this is not the case.
Thanks for any comments,
Rgds, AJ

Hi
Discontinuation works for Production orders.Couple of Checks needed for both Follow up and Discontinued Materials to arrive to actual problem
1) Base unit of measure must be same
2) Should have same MRP type
3) Not defined as Co-Products
For detailed info pl refer the link

  • URGENT: Prob with Production Order Confirmation

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem with Production Order Confirmation.
When I am confirming a Prod Order and if the components present are more than '999', then error is being thrown and Material Document Number is not being created.
I want to split the records into 500 slots and pass them at a time for the creation of the Production Order so that it doesnt throw me an error while creating a Material Document No.
While saving the Production Order confirmation order, it should split the records into 500 slots each and then create Material Document No for each slot.
Can anyone please help me out in this regard, how to solve this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Harish Kalla

    Hi Harish,
This problem is addressed in OSS Note : 36353
    The Symptom reads like this
    ==========================================================================
When you post documents using the AC interface (from SD, MM or other applications), items appear in the FI document which are identical in all or in almost all fields.
This can also cause error message F5 727 ("Maximum number of items in FI reached"). The system issues this error if more than 999 items occur in an FI document.
    ===========================================================================
This Note is an elaborate one..
Hence, go through this and ask your FI Consultant to help you in this regard.
    All the best..

  • Goods Receipt with production order in WM

    Hi all,
My client requirement is whenever i am issuing  goods to the production order the stock reserved to production order, once i confirmed the  TO stock level  reduced.Once production  completed when i put the goods receipt with production order the stock increased for finished goods only at storage location level not  upto warehouse level.
when i put goods receipt with others the stock increased in  warehouselevel upto my destination bin(as i configured). My requirement is how to move goods to my  destination bin when goods receipt for production order. any configuration required? solve my issue
    i am maintaining configuration as
    i)in omlj iam using movt type-103, source as 901(scr checked),dest as 003,reqirement type-orders.
ii)in omlr i am assigning 103wm mov type to 101 im type.
whether  my configuration is correct or i have to do any other configuration ?..i am not maintain any production staging process is it necessary?
    appreciate your help always
    ramesh

To consolidate your requirements once again
You want imediate TO creation for components. (It is configured & working fine now)
You dont want imediate TO creation for finished goods, only in the case of GR for Productio order. Right?
If Yes, you need to have a small configuration setting (if it is missing)
In OMLR Create TO immediately Indicator should be space "Do not initiate TO creation" (not X) for 101 F - 103

  • Function about production order component material

WHO can tell me the function about  production order component material?
When import production order number , the function export tables about component material.

    Hi!
    you can use FM CO_SF_RESB_READ
    or directly from RESB table
select single rsnum  into lv_rsnum from AFKO where  aufnr = aufnr.
SELECT * FROM resb INTO TABLE lt_resb WHERE  rsnum =lv_rsnum AND xloek NE 'X' .

  • Diff between with production orders

    Hi Friends,
pls explain dif between planned orders & Production orders.
    Regards
    Jagadeeshwar.B

    Hi,
Planned orders are results of running MRP. Shortages of materials that are set to internal procurement will create planned orders, which can be converted into production orders. Production orders are like "hard copies", they cannot be adjusted by MRP anymore.  Well that's for a discrete environment, not sure about repetitive manufacturing.
One we firm the planned order changes will be not reflected in the subsequent MRP, correct. e.g. BOM change. New components will not be recommended for firm planned order.
I'm assuming when you ask about when to use planned vs production orders you are asking when to use Repetitive Mfg (with PE planned orders) vs Discrete Mfg (with production orders). We use both and while we're not perfect in our approach yet we are gaining a better appreciation for the two.
For repetitive, the planning is much simpler, you basically run MRP against your demand and you get planned orders. You can change and firm these manually or you can use time fence strategies, and you can have multiple operations running through multiple work centres. They are very simple to maintain and use. Repetitive is normally run against shorter lead time build, where we don't need a high level of control. If we have the option we go with Repetitive.
Where we want a better level of control we go with discrete. Planned (LA) orders are created from a run of MRP against your demand. These are converted to production orders, released, and processed. There is a lot more control (and work) with this order type than we see with Repetitive planned orders. We can link documents to the order, we can change the routing and the BOM on the order, and we have better visibility of the individual orders while they are in manufacturing. Costing is against the order as opposed to Repetitive where the costs (and variances) are seen against the cost collector. After everything is complete, you still have a record against the build. The order stays intact, though it may be complete and closed, you still the retain history.
    Reward Points if found helpfull..

  • Error in posting goods movement with production order

    Hi all,
I have a custom program that post goods movement using function  'Bapi_Goodsmvt_Create'.
The material passed into is a FERT material along with movement type 101,  goods-movement code = 02', movement indicator = 'F'.    This function gives an error :
'E M7 022 Order quantity exceeded by 21.390 cse : item xxxxxx, plant xx prod order xxxxx'.
The material is a take weight material.   In production order, it came up to 910lb for total weight.
In goods receiving this material, i have changed the material from 910lb to 1016.950.
This is where the error came in.  Note: 21.39 cases = 106.95 lb.
We had such take weight material worked before.
Can anyone pls suggestion what can be done about this ?
    Thanks
    Joyce

    Hi Dario,
Because the finised material is a take weight product, it should be ok unless there is a tolerance in the takeweight.   Also the production order is generated from 2 sales orders.
To migo a production order, would it be A01 Goods Receipt and  R08 for prod order ?
    Thank you.
    Joyce

  • Make to order availability check scenario with production order

We have a make-to order scenario where we build custom products for our customers.
In SAP, we specify a strategy group so a production order is automatically generated when an sales order item is entered. However, we sometimes create a small amount of stock, in anticipation of an order. I would like the system to first check available stock in the system, beofre proposing a production order.
Is something like thi spossible thru configuration of the strategy group, or perhaps another method?
    Regards
    Ken

    Hi,
In SPRO->Sales and Distribution->Basic Functions->Availability Check and Transfer of Requirements->Availability Check->Availability Check with ATP Logic or Against Planning->Carry Out Control For Availability Check
Select the Availability check and the Checking rule  combination of intrest and if you select the details, here you define that stocks that are to be considered during availability check.

  • Function Module Production order created via Variant Configuration conditio

    Hi,
I am looking for a function module which can provide me with the following information.
the component selected in  a production order and the corresponding VC condition which forced this selection in the production order.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello ,
There is no proper FM or BAPI that can do the way it is used that all the components are first selected buy FM get_stpo and then configured via FM cubx_configure_object or CUBX_CONFIGURE_STPOB. The ones that fulfill the condition gets deleted. For the Selection condition you can look at table STPO-KNOBJ.
Generally for configuration you should use FM vc_get_configuration_ibase..
Also for SO FM CUKO_ddb_has_components reads from the database but you can check if it can work for PO
    Thanks

  • Service GR link with Production Order confirmation

    Dear PP Experts,
My scenario is like this ,
With respect to service one annual contract will be there & one release Purchase Order for one month will be there.
I want to take this service with Service GR from Service Entry sheet in a particular operation of a production order.
Is it possible to get the service entry sheet during confirmation of production order of that particular operation.
Please any one can give some idea.
    Thanks & Regards
    Aniruddha Biswas

    Hi ,
It is not possible in Standard SAP . But I can give you some insight for custom development
    1) Create Contract
    2) PR can be created from the Prodn order with reference to contract.
    3) Instead std confirmation , use the custom program for confirmation , which will carry out a)creation of the purchase order b) service entry  and finally confirmation.
There is functionality in Plant Maintenance that creation of PR is possible wrt to Frame work purchase order and service entry is done for a PR directly without Purchase order. But this functionality is not avl for the prodn order.
I don't know how far this is useful for you.....

  • Issue with production order linked to quote instead of sales order

    Hi Gurus,
I did a lot of digging through SAP notes and accross the internet. Before I contact SAP, just wanted to give a shot @ SDN. Please help.
Background- for ATO (VC assemble to Order):
    i) Created a quote
ii) Created a sales order with reference to a quote
iii) MRP created a planned order and the planned order is linked to the quote
iV) Production order created and it is also linked to a quote
    v) All reports, MD04/COOIS shows that the plnd order/prd order is linked to the quote
My issue - print a shop paper or a customer specific product ID label....guess what 'it prints the quote number everywhere'.
Everything is tied to a quote - which is not a real demand. All purchase orders are tied to the quote. THIS IS STUPID.
I refered to SAP Notes - 181685 and 459734. But I need details of what config settings I should do and where?
I'm a pure PP guy, getting into SD requirement type & account assignement settings. Please help me with details.
    http://scn.sap.com/message/8018953#8018953
This guy also had the same problem and his issue was never resolved.
    Thanks,

    Hello
Take a look on the following note where this scenario is described:
16658 - Generate sales order stock based on quotation
The note proposes the following setting as a workaround to this issue:
"As of 3.0, when the requirements type is assigned to the transaction
during requirements type determination, it is possible to assign a
requirements type to the quotation that does not represent make-to-order
    production."
Therefore, please check your customizing settings and make sure that a requirement class/type (transactions OVZG and OVZI) without MTO is assigned to the quotation item category (transaction OVZI).
On transaction OVZI, there is a field called "Origin of requirement type in requirement type determination". Please take a look on the information provided on the F1 help of this field:
    ========================================================================
Origin of requirement type in requirement type determination
In the standard release, the requirements type is determined according
to a certain search strategy depending on the strategy group of the
    material.
In this field you can select an alternative search strategy (source):
Source 0 = Material master strategy, then item category and MRP type
Source 1 = Item type and MRP type strategy
Source 2 = Item type and MRP type strategy (as for source 1) with
additional check of the allowed requirements type
    ========================================================================
Therefore, my suggestion is to set this field to 1 for the quotation item category and assign an MTS requirement type on OVZI.

  • Inspection lot with Production Order

    Hi friends,
I am PP consultant and need some help in setting up a scanario of Production order with inspection lot.
I need to setup a scenario where a inpspection lot is created from production order manually (not at the time of release). The purpose is to post few quantity of production order to scrap storage location. Inspection lot needs to be created only in certain production orders where some of the quantity has to be declared as scrap and that needs to be rejected with usage decision.
can any one please suggest the overview of such scenario.
    Regards,
    Rohit

    Dear Rohit,
You want to create a manual inspection lot only for the purpose of Scrapping and also want it to be done with Usage Decision.
You can not use inspection type 89, as it is not stock relevant (Inspection type for Miscellaneous inspection),
There is one another solution with inspection type 08( inspection for Material Movement), but it might look Lengthy.
    1. Release a Production order. say 100 qty.
    2. If during process, 10 is scrap, then perform Partial Confirmation of 10 Qty.;  Stock will be in Unrestricted.
    3. Now, through MB1B, transfer 10 qty from Unrestricted to QI.
    4. As you have inspection type 08 active, System will create an Inspection lot for 10 Qty.
    5. You can post this whole 10 qty to Scrap while giving Usage Decision.
I think, in your process, Scrapping is not done frequently, that is why you do not want inspection lot at every production order.
in that case this solution may solve your problem.
    regards,
    Amol

  • Requirement strategy : PIR reduction with Production Order GR

    Hello,
I'd like to manage in APO a requirement strategy reduced by Goods receipts of production order.
I'v tried to manage a specific strategy but I don't know wich Category Group setted in the customizing.
    Could you help to:
    - first confirm that we could reduce the PIR with GR from a production order?
    - Then which category or category group should I select ?
    thank you for your help
    Renaud

    Hi Renaud,
Below you have the strategies that are supported by APO. For your requirement you have to create a new strategy in APO that support your needs. The steps are described in my first replay. I don't think that you will find exactly the same logic that you have in ECC but something similar yes. In APO we can't do moving type!
For example you can modify strategy 10 and change the category group to FP1 (production fixed). So, it's clear that you will have in stock the quantity of the confirmed pl.order!
    Thanks, Marius

  • Use of Planning Table (MF50) in Capacity Levelling with Production Order

    Hello Experts
I wish to know that is it possible to perform Capacity Levelling in planning table (tcode MF50) with respect to a Production Order ? It is known that MF50 is used in Repetitive manufacuring to do the capacity levelling with respect to Planned orders. But in our discrete manufacturing scenario we want to use planning table to the capacity levelling with respect toa Production order.
Any clue or help pertaining to this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Jayanta

    Dear ,
MF50 is does the cacapcity leveling based on mateail -run schedule order (planned order ) where as in discrete manufacturing , when you run the MRP ,  MRP system assume Infinite Capacity  and schedule the order as per your selection in MD02(2,1,3,3,2)  and then you convert those planned order to Production order .Here you checkied the Capacity in Production Order level .
In stanadrd SAP  , it is not possible to use MF50 for discrete production order.
In discrete order or process order ,  do the caapcity leveling , there are seperate planning table available based on Over all Capacity Profile and Schedule type .This can be done  in following way :
    1.CM31-Production Order Wise -Tabular
    2.CM23-PO wise -Graphical
    3.MC88: Ruf Cut Planning
    Work Centre Wise : CM21 -Graphical , CM22-Tabular Planning Table .
Make sure the below set up before  you carry on the Capacity leveling :
    .Define time profile in OPD2.
Define the strategy profile in OPDB
Define the Overall profiles in OPD0.
In OPJK  maintained check capacity with SAPSFCG013 profile for your production order type
In OPU3 , scheduleing parametre s: Generate Capacity , Scheduling Type , Automatic Log ,Start date in Past as per your req.
In OPJU , chekc the contol tab of the scheduleing as per OPU3
In OPKP- Production scheduling paranmeters assing the overall capacity profile -SAPSFCG013  with finte scheduling tick.
    Master Data :
1.Materials Master define the Production scheduler and production scheduling profile
2.Work Center - Define the capcity planner group, activate checkbox Relevant for Finite sceduling,on the capacity header define the shift timings, break timings and unit of measure,no of individual capaity, enter formula for scheduling in capacity view.
3.Routing - enter the values for the standard values. Use control key with scheduling.
Hope this will help you .

  • Relevance of Sales Order tagged with Production Order

    Hi,
In the Production Order, there is an option to tag any sales order with it and the Customer Code follows. Is this for an information purpose only? How does the cycle differ from running a Production Order without a Sales Order? Does it have any reports or flows related/linked?
    Regards
    Sudatt

    Hi.......
Yes this is only for information.
There is a term as per industries Make To Order and Make To Stock.
Make To Order means if you are doing production against Sales Order
and Make To Order means if you are doing production against Stock.
This is just an information against which SO (Make To Order) you have made production......

  • Control for manual Reservation with production order

    Dear PP Guru,
In my business, I have more than 356 semi finished material and each material have at least 30 item in BOM. We issue material from Raw material store to shop floor store from where these are consumed on production orders and I have 5 level Material BOM for Finished materials. Due to having a number of production orders it becomes impossible to check for which material reservation have made or not.
Give a wayout from which I can easily traced out by an application. when production orders is being created, system made automatic reservation according to BOM whether stock is available or not. just like automatic reservation, is it possible to make manual reservation without having stock of any material. so that reservation remain open till recieving new stock for material.

    Dear Muhammad,
Do you mean to say you want to do a transfer posting?
You can do using 311 movement with respect to the BOM in T code MB1B or else with respect to a
production order in MF60,if you are going to do in MF60,then in global settings remove the indicator for
stock transfer so that it moves from one production storage location to another.
Generally once the production are in created statuis itself, reservations are generated for 261 movement
    for its components.
Either you can do MB1A for good issue or else use even CO27 or else backflush while doing
    confirmation.
    Now check and revert back.
