Do we have a function in oracle to select not null columns at the begining
Hi,
I have 8 columns. Some of them might be null.
I want to display all 8 columns in my result. Not null columns will be first and null at the end.
Here is a sample data :
Employee table :
Employee_id Emp_fname emp_lname emp_mname dept salary emp_height emp_weight
1 aaa ddd d1 100 6 180
2 bbb ccc 120 169
3 dfe d2 5.9 223The expected result is :
result1 result2 result3 result4 result5 result6 result7 result8
1 aaa ddd d1 100 6 180
2 bbb ccc 120 169
3 dfe d2 5.9 223Thanks.

The requirement doesn't make a lot of sense and tends to imply that you have an incorrect data model. If that's the case, you'd be much better off fixing the data model than in trying to write this sort of query (particularly since a poor data model is going to force you to write a bunch of creative SQL).
If you define a type and a function
CREATE TYPE num_tbl AS TABLE OF NUMBER;
create or replace function count_null( l_nums in num_tbl )
return number
is
l_cnt integer := 0;
begin
for i in 1..l_nums.count
loop
if( l_nums(i) is null )
then
l_cnt := l_cnt + 1;
end if;
end loop;
return l_cnt;
end;Then you can do something like this
SQL> ed
Wrote file afiedt.buf
1 select product,
2 coalesce( q1, q2, q3, q4 ) col1,
3 (case when count_null( num_tbl( q1 ) ) = 0

5 when count_null( num_tbl( q1, q2 ) ) = 1
6 then coalesce( q3, q4 )
7 when count_null( num_tbl( q1, q2, q3 ) ) = 1
8 then q4
9 else null
10 end) col2,
11 (case when count_null( num_tbl( q1, q2 ) ) = 0
12 then coalesce( q3, q4 )
13 when count_null( num_tbl(q1, q2, q3) ) = 1
14 then q4
15 else null
16 end) col3,
17 (case when count_null( num_tbl( q1, q2, q3 ) ) = 0
18 then q4
19 else null

I have some expensive plug-ins which are not being recognised by the new Logic. Where should I install them ?
I am using Mavericks OS, and I am considering transfering my choiceof DAW to Protools.
YoursdisillusionedbyLogicHi
LPX only supports 64bit Audio Unit plugins. You probably need to get the latest updates for all of your plugs.
Some plugs are not currently available as 64bit versions: you may want to try

when I restart my ipod I appeared that I have to activate it , but I can not remember which is the email that is associated with my ipod and I can not use until you activate it and use all those who believed that they could be and I get not you can use this email
To address this at the Apple ID level, use Apple's iForgot service, or click here and contact Apple.
To address this at the device level, you need to be its original owner, and take the device and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store.

Can anyone tell me why my PC doesn't automatically update with my photos. I' m pretty sure I have all the right setting on. When I go to iPhoto's there's nothing there. I have my photo stream folder with pictures I have had to transfer in. The photos don't show on my PC and my recently acquired iPad. Only on the original iPhone device.
This behavior is normal. Since photos in anything other than the camera roll had to come from your computer, you can not sync them from the phone to the computer. In addition, the photos on the phone are not stored at their original resolution, but are optimized for the display of the phone.
You eill either need to restore from the backup you made of your computer before you re-formatted it, or you will need to invest in 3rd party software to extract the low res photos from the phone. -
I have added Open in browser add ons in Firefox browser, but still not able to see the .shtml files on local machine.
Can any one please tell me how to view .shtml files in Firefox?SHTML files are regular HTML files that make use of Server-Side Includes. In some server configurations, the special file extension is required to instruct the server to parse the file for SSI code.
If Firefox doesn't recognize the file type, it is likely the MIME type is incorrect.

why am i not able to use the $12.58 in my itunes acct to purchase items - I am using a new computer and it requests the code on the back of the itunes gift card which I no longer have available but Itunes is telling me I still have that amount in my acct.
You don't have a copy of it on your backup of your downloads and you've checked your computer's hard drive for it ? What you can re-download will show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage on your computer's iTunes. If other films show there but not that one and it's still in your country's iTunes store then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If it's not hidden and it's still in your country's store then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they wil grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption -
I have iPone and iPad. I amnot able to transfer/copy the contents of my computer to iTunes. Can anybody help me?
How are you doing it? What happens when you try? More info is needed in order to help you troubleshoot.

Check the Module property: Console Window. If this property is null, then the Status Bar will not be displayed during runtime. You have to set this property for each form.

The "Splash.gif" is located in the frmall.jar file. What is it you want to do? Do you want to use a different spash image during application startup? If yes, you can display a different startup splash image by using the splachScreen= parameter in the formsweb.cfg file. The replacement .gif file must be located in the directory specified in the imageBase= parameter. Keep in mind that this file will need to be signed or you will get a security warning.

Create XML from oracle table if not null
Hello dear community,
I have a problem by creating an XML file in oracle and hope you could help me.
What I have is an table named "description" with three rows there:
person varchar2(50)
adress varchar2(50)
Nr number
Reading this table I am going to create an XML file like that:
Procedure Create_XML (iNr IN number, cXmlFile OUT clob) is
varPerson varchar2(50);
varAdress varchar2(50);
Begin
varPerson := ... ;
varAdress := ... ;
select
xmlserialize
content
xmlelement
"Head",
xmlelement
"Node",
xmlelement
"Line",
xmlelement("ATNAM", 'PERSON'),
xmlelement("ATWRT", PERSON),
xmlelement("ATFOR", varPerson)
xmlelement
"Line",
xmlelement("ATNAM", 'ADRESS'),
xmlelement("ATWRT", ADRESS),
xmlelement("ATFOR", varAdress)
indent
) as xml
into cXmlFile
from description
where Nr = iNr;
End Create_XML;
What I want to do, is just to take the value from the both rows "person" and "adress" and fill the xml file with additional info.
1. My first question is, if it is possible to create any kind of routine for the xmlelement "Line" instead of doing it all over and over again? How?
2. An other issue is very important to me: how can I check here if f.i. the row person is empty or not? If it is, the xmlelement "Line" with person information in it should not be created at all.
Any answer would really help me!
Thank you a lot in advance!Hi,
Could you elaborate a little on your first question?
Are you looking for something like :
SELECT xmlquery(
'<head>
<node>
for $i in ora:view("DESCRIPTION")/ROW[NR=$nr]/*[local-name()!="NR"]
return element Line {
element ATNAM {local-name($i)},
element ATWRT {$i/text()}
</node>
</head>'
passing sys_xmlgen(1) as "nr"
returning content
FROM dual;but since you use a specific variable for each "line" type, I don't see how we can generalize the construction of the line element.
