Dock and Menu disappear only for Safari

My dock and menu disappear only when I am using Safari. They re-appear when I hover my mouse at the location that they should be at, but for some reason their default positions are to be hidden.
The dock and menu are present for all other apps and when I'm on the desktop--basically whenever Safari isn't "chosen" as the active window.
I have checked to make sure that Safari is NOT in Full Screen mode. What could be the problem?

This has happened to me before and it took me a long time to work it out.
But all you need to do is froce quit safari or any application that this is happening to and start the application again.

Either the window is in full screen mode or the toolbars have been removed and you can customize them to put them back.

You can also go up to "View," and look all the way down to "Exit Full Screen."
Command+Control+f will toggle it off and on.

CSS hack only for Safari

CSS-hack *selector:not(:root:root) {property: value;}* works only in Safari 4 but not in _Safari 5_.
Whether there is any CSS-work-hack for all Safari ver. including Safari 5<?

This is a typical IE6 positioning and ul/li as link problem.
IE6 has a problem when multiple position absolute rules are applied in the wrong position (order), and this can show itself by strange behaviour or the element not being visible (it is there but moved off the page).
As for the ul/li as links in IE6, there are fixes for this but they are often unsatisfactory and use hacks (even the '! important' is an hack for IE6 in this respect), which is where the ie conditional statement comes into play.

You may wish to reconsider your menu styles though, as the last two main items / submenu items, are unselectable in every browser I tested them on.

Support message and change requests only for production system

Hi guys,
I would like to connect the solman helpesk with CHARM ( CHARM is still running ).
In CHARM I have to create a CR only for production system. ( don't know why - but works as designed).
In SAP helpdesk I can create support messages for every kind of system type but if I want to connect both (HD and CR) , the source system (ibase component) of the issue will copied to the CR and runs in error because of the rule (only p-system) of CHARM.
Of course I can change the ibase to production system manually in SDCR but it seems a very error-prone method.
Now my question: is it possible to change the ibase component due to the creation of CR by copy rule or something like this?

Hi Rayko,
We do not have this option.
Once in ChaRM, we assume that the changes will always correct an issue in the PROD system.
I would recommend to open the tickets directly with the PROD system IBase, once the issue is also happening there.

So today when i turn on mozilia fire fox i could not see menu bar and my dock bar but when i open other app i can see thoes 2 things.

You're in fullscreen mode. If you put the mouse at the top of the screen, does the menu bar reappear? If so, do you see a blue box like this on the right side of the menu bar?
If so, click it.

Desktop icons non responsive but dock and menu bar ok

I have at times had a situation where my dock is accessible and the top menu also accessible but non of the icons on the desktop can be accessed. You can click on them all you want and they do not respond. Even the disk drive (which I have displayed on the desktop) can not be accessed through the desktop but it can through the Finder via the dock. The only way to have access to the desktop icons is to go to "force quit" via the apple menu and then select "Relaunch Finder" which after complete will allow the icons on the desktop to be accessible. Does anyone know what the problem is so that I don't have to go through this each time I let the computer sit for a while?

Performance tip: Keep the Desktop clutter-free (empty, if possible)
Mac OS X's Desktop is the de facto location for downloaded files, and for many users, in-progress works that will either be organized later or deleted altogether. The desktop can also be gluttonous, however, becoming a catch-all for files that linger indefinitely.
Unfortunately - aside from the effect of disarray it creates - keeping dozens or hundreds of files on the Desktop can significantly degrade performance. Not necessarily because the system is sluggish with regard to rendering the icons on the desktop and storing them in memory persistently (which may be true in some cases), but more likely because keeping an excessive number of items on the Desktop can cause the windowserver process to generate reams of logfiles, which obviously draws resources away from other system tasks. Each of your icons on your desktop is stored as a window in the window server, not as an alias. The more you have stored, the more strain it puts on the window server. Check your desktop for unnecessary icons and clear them out.
Keeping as few items as possible on the Desktop can prove a surprisingly effective performance boon. Even creating a single folder on your Desktop and placing all current and future clutter inside, then logging out and back in can provide an immediately noticeable speed boost, particularly for the Finder.
And it is why Apple invented 'Stacks' for Leopard.

As I understand, all partial checks say that cache is good. But ending doValidation=1, probably, means that request will be sent. Do not see any reason.

New Menu's Only For the iTunes Store? What the...???

Installed the update. Works good, looks good, sounds good. BUT... here I go...
The new horizontal screen layout only applies to iTunes Store rentals. One of my biggest gripes with the Apple TV has been that it requires a widescreen, Hi-Def TV, but the Movie/TV Show menus are laid out vertically. You get 4-5 small lines of text (this is at the highest resolution setting) to describe the movie and the rest of the text is cut off, usually by up to 50%, and you get room enough for only 2 actors.
The horizontal iTunes Store layout would have been common sense for the whole interface and I'm floored that Apple of all companies did not realize this.
Search only applies to the iTunes store and YouTube. You can't search your own library. Why?

I'm guessing they really only what to focus on updating things that will drive revenue to them... Hype up an update that really only makes it easier for us to buy things from them. From a business standpoint, it's smart. Frustrating for consumers though.

Outlook asking for username and password, but only for some users

Hello, I'm
in an Exchange Server 2013 client
environment, two CAS servers
and two Mailbox.
Some users are having trouble in Outlook 2007
and 2012, which is directly
requesting the user name and password, not all,
just some.
The Active Directory is ok,
DNS and also own Exchange
servers apparently do not see errors.
Has anyone here ever experienced this?
How can I solve this problem?
As this happens only to some users
and the vast majority have no problems, so
difficult to find the cause.

Hi Ivanildo,
From your description, only some users have an issue that Outlook prompts for username and password. In your case, I recommend you compare the normal and problematic Outlook settings. Here is the Outlook settings in my environment for your reference:
1. "Always prompt for logon credentials" isn't checked.
2. Logon network security using Negotiate Authentication.
3. "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" is checked.
4. Use the NTLM Authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange.

In the meantime you can go to www.icloud.com and register your username and what not. You cant really do much until your iOS5 comes out except for find your iphone.. It looks pretty cool though. I will be waiting with the rest of the iPopulation for this update.

Figured I'd add to this very old post as opposed to starting a new one. I've followed the steps outlined by Hillary, and the new table simply never shows up at the Subscriber.
I've also attempted everything through the GUI, but get the message "[0%] A snapshot was not generated because no subscriptions needed initialization." when trying to launch the Snapshot Agent.
Note this is on 2012, and the initialization was done via backup/ restore (not snapshot).
Any ideas? Thanks!
