  • Adobe Encore CS4 - Encore Failed

I recently had a problem with Adobe Encore CS4 with finalising a project to DVD, and to make a long story short I had my computer totally wiped and reinstalled all programs. The problem I now have is, I export a HDV file from Avid Media Cmposer and import it to Encore but when I try to Transcode it, I get a "Encode Failed" message.
I have tried other formats "Quick Time Movie" and "Quick Time Reference" which works fine, but I get a colour burst in the video which is not in the original footage and it only appears in Encore.
I appreciate any help to solve this problem.

For CS4 you must update the Roxio component http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1309029

  • Adobe Encore CS4

My adobe Encore CS4 d'ont work - It blocks at Initializing Transcoding!

Make sure you run as administrator.
If that does not do it, give us a bit more info: what operating system? Has it worked before on this system? Did anything change?
    Run as administrator:
    From John Smith:
Right click the Encore icon on your desktop
    Select Properties
    Shortcut tab
    Select Advanced
Click the Run as Admin option
    Click OK
    Click OK
To set it to run like this all the time, see post 1 here:

  • Will Adobe Encore CS4 burn MTS files to an external blue ray burner if I buy one?

Will Adobe Encore CS4 recognize/burn MTS files to an EXTERNAL blue ray burner if I buy one?

Internal vs external should not matter.
I have a burned to external with CS4, but it was a long time ago.
And most importantly, Encore is not a reliable burner for many users, and they, and I, use imgBurn rather than Encore to burn.
Also, "burn an MTS" file is totally different from authoring and burning. Encore (was it by CS4?) added a limited AVCHD passthrough option. I have not used it.

  • Adobe Encore CS4 crashes during Render Progress

After creating entire menu without any problems ( there is occasional encore system crash...) I go to File and then Render Project. Rendering process start with rendering of my audio file and then it goes to "Rendering menu" and crashes every time! I called technical support but after couple of hours i was told to give it a rest and try call them next day... I have bought CS4 back in June 09 and it was running kinda good, I had a system crash from time to time but never a problem with rendering. Now it will not even render my old projects that I have successfully burnt in the past. I get the same error every time; " Adobe Encore has encounter an error. [..\Port\PhotoshopObject.cpp-568] " and after clicking on "continue" button Encore disappears... I have formatted my "C" drive reinstalled windows vista64, reinstalled all software downloaded "new" file from adobe and reinstalled Encore again but the problem is still there. I also read some post about encore crashes and i even deleted my nvidia dll driver but Encore crashed as usual... Does anybody have any idea how to solve this?
    Thanks

    Well,
it seems you have run Encore in the past succesfully (more or less) and this is the first "big stop".
    I'd suggest few tips:
-have you recently update firmware, drivers of your video card or something else? If yes, I'd try the previous one, though I had to say that I'm working great with the newest beta 196.34 and my GTX 295.
    - It's just a menu render matter? or everything can't be rendered? (you probably know you can render every menus/assets one by one).
    Let's know

P.S.; sorry for delays in answering but I have connection problem (provider), router keeps net connection but loose internet several times (has been "infected" by Bill's one?)

  • Adobe Encore CS4 File is not valid MPEG?

    Hi!
Today, I opened up my Encore project to make a small change.  I imported new assets and changed the menu to something different and then linked my buttons to a new timeline that then linked to another timeline.
I planned to create a DVD, but while it was transcoding and error popped up that said "Adobe Encore File is not valid MPEG."
All of my assets are in MPEG2-DVD format.  The menu (both the original menu and the new one) was a video created in After Effects CS4 and the other assets were created in Premiere Pro CS4.
Both the menu and video are 720x480.
    Thanks,
    Brittany

Um, I'm not exactly sure how to find this, but I just right clicked on the video to click properties and this is what I found:
    Menu:
    Data Rate: 6455kbps
    Menu Audio Bit Rate: 1536kbps
Second Part of Menu: (I have it set up so that it when you click "Play" or "Behind the Scenes" that it looks like the camera zooms into the title on the menu.  This is in a seperate timeline.)
    Data Rate: 6000kbps
    Audio Bit Rate: 1536kbps
    Main Video:
    Data Rate: 7000kbps
    Audio Bit Rate: 1536kbps
Also, I don't know if this is worth mentioning, but .xmp and .m2v.xmpses files also rendered along with my MPEG2-DVD video.  I guess this is standard but I just thought I should mention it.

  • Adobe Encore CS4 unter Windows 7 Problem mit Einlesen von HD Material

    Hallo zusammen,

    nAbend,
hast das hier auch schon probiert?

  • Message saying Windows 7 32-bit pro isn't Compatible with Adobe Encore CS4.

After a fresh install of my CS4 suite on my new Computer I got this message. I have updated Encore with 4.1 and I still get the message. I can open Encore anyway, and I have even burned a project too (SD project). However, when it always freezes when I import an HD file as an asset while I'm attempting to burn a Blu-Ray disk. Is this related? I have updated my drivers on my burner as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You!

  • Adobe Encore CS4 crashes when starting

When I try to start Encore it fails to start and produces a crash report.  It does not even get to the splash screen.  Has any one ever had this issue?

    Hello Bill,
I have looked at the event viewer and there is nothing in there that points to issues that could cause what appears to be a corrupt file/directory.
I have now had the same happen to soundbooth.  I could not start soundbooth.   I then renamed the directory: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Soundbooth\2.0 to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Soundbooth\2.0_Old.  I later deleted the library.
    Again Soundbooth now works.
I still do not know what caused the problem.
Anyone any idea what is happening?

  • Adobe Encore CS4, Blu-ray burning issues

    Greetings!
I'm trying to get some Blu-ray discs authored for a client and am running into a snag on the last 2 discs that remain. When it gets to actually writing to the BD media, it comes up with an error message (See screenshot).
This is starting to drive me up the wall as I've been fine all along with creating Blu-ray discs up until now, and I'm sure my client is getting anxious.
For what it's worth, I am using Verbatim DataLifePlus media, 25gb. As far as what I'm bringing into Encore (which I have been doing this method many times in the past with no snags whatsoever and getting great results), I'm using the Blu-ray M2V export option. There are no issues during the transcoding phase, it's just when it finally gets to actually writing to the media. I have created ISO's of the Blu-rays I'm trying to finish (Making the ISO files come out fine) and running into a snag using other software capable of burning disc images. With this said, what could be going on? Could my optical drive be kicking the bucket?
Also to point out, where it's telling me that there's not enough space, there is some remaining space.
An interesting thing to note as well, my write speed dropdown is grayed out (The media I'm using recommends 6X buring speed).
Any feedback would be hugely appreciated as I'm trying to get this job wrapped up.

If Ann's comment doesn't fix the issue for you, the most common workaround for this is to build to a folder and burn with ImgBurn (for PC) or toast (for Mac).
So what were the issues you ran into when you tried that.
I am sure you have searched this error, and you can see that there has been success in many situations. I do not believe that it is one problem.
I have generally believed that Ann is correct and that it refers to temporary storage on the hard drive. And users underestimate the amount of temporary hard disk drive space used.
Some users experience this error when they are creating dual layer BD disks, and a layer is more than 25G. Each video/layer must fit on one side.
And some users got resolution by reencoding to a lower bitrate (a 25G BD disk does not hold 25G). Encore uses padding to predict the size on disk (e.g. add 10% to the amount of space it predicts that build will use), and it can be wrong.
Always good to "run as administrator, though I don't know that ever fixed this issue if someone wasn't.

  • Adobe Encore CS4: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point

    Error screen:
Error I’m getting for section titled Notes (PP 45 second video): “End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point.”
The icon that shows error is in top line second from end.  I’m trying to 'end action' that portion of the video by going back to 'menu default'; also tried end action w/ ‘Stop’ and neither work.
I saw a post about checking timeline.  Not sure what I’m looking for there.  I have nothing in Orphanage area.  I also tried building despite Check Project error and it will not build project.  Any suggestions on how to fix: “End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point.”?

Select chapter one on that timelne. Look in the properties panel. Does it have an end action? You do not want an end action on the chapter; just on the timeline itself.
That will not generally prevent a build, however. So you may have other issues.

  • Encore CS4 Missing Frames/Stops Starts  and Blue Screen Crashes During Playback

I'm opening Premiere Pro CS4 with the default presets of HDV Capture, HDV 1080i30 software only mode. I'm capturing from my Canon HV20 using firewire HDV out 1440 x 1080. All goes well during the editing process but when I Dynamic Link and playback in Encore CS4 I observe dropped frames or stop and starts in Encore timeline sequence. At times I may even crash Encore with a Blue Screen. While still running Encore I can go back to Premiere Pro and play the timeline sequence with no issues. I will mention that I have the Matrox RT.X2 installed. But when starting a project I'm doing software only and disabling RT.X2 hardware playback. If I remove all effects in the timeline sequence and then Dynamic link to Encore the playback is normal with no effects. I did exported the Premiere Pro CS4 project using Adobe Media Encoder CS4 with a setting of MPEG 2 Blu-ray 1440 x 1080i 29.97 High Quality. I than import this MPEG2 back into Adobe Encore CS4 and it plays without dropping frames or hang-ups.

    Try to remember this:
Encore "Tries" to playback from premiere pro.  If you have a full set of previews available, it will play those, but you are probably seeing a lot of dropped frames and choppy video if your previews in premiere are set pretty low.  What you can do to combat this--in my experience--is export your video from premiere into a whole file in full format (in a non-lossy format with full frames, and in it's proxy equivalent;  I use Prores LT for many projects, and export that as a final output from premiere), then have that encode in an h.264 format (which will maximize smooth motion and quality playback).  Now... ...In your encore project, you should be outside of your original formats and in the intermediary that encore will recognize, so you should have it "Locate transcoded file".  Once you have done so, it will playback that movie in the preview.  I've done it.  With CS6 and 4gb ram with a vidcard at 256mb and a core2duo 2.16ghz, it plays fine.  With CS4 the encoding takes a while, and if you go to dvd, even longer for compression to work properly.  I use Compressor to output AVCHD .264 stream and an AC3 file.  When I locate the transcode for BD, I locate the .264 file first, then I get asked for the AC3 file.  This allows me to import them both, and have Encore encode them into the transport stream without transcoding.  I use Distributed processing to get the job done quickly, as I have minimal access to several computers and have connected them by that method for a Render Farming setup.  It works well.  With a hardware based device playing back your files, you won't see the same performance in Encore.  It has to make two hops already to get to your video, and adding a third (goes from encore to Premiere, then to codec, then plays normally;  third step is to external hardware, which eats up processing like crazy when it has to come all the way back to an encoding output to screen through encore, adding more steps for the system along the way) really can slow down the performance in Encore.  IF you take the Steps out by encoding a finished playback stream, Encore will handle it quickly with it's own processing.  It really does work well.  If you don't like it, make your changes in Premiere, then re-encode with your hardware and make an h.264 file for encore again.  You can use AME, but you'll always get standard Blu-ray (old file-stream format; lesser res and quality).  You can use Compressor to make AVCHD which allows for 264 output that is PSF or progressive that is interpreted as simultaneous fields (fake interlace), or even solid progressive formatting for AVCHD compatible players, and you can render-farm it to speed up the encoding process.

  • PS3 (Playstation 3) issue not loading BDR Bluray | Adobe Encore CS6

I recently created a Bluray using Adobe Encore CS6, and the Bluray is not loading on my PS3, but is working fine on my other player (LG, Toshiba and PC).  Does anyone have the same issue and found a solution?  I need help on this as most of my client use their PS3 as Bluray player.
Authoring program: Adobe Encore CS6 with the Creative Cloud latest update
PS3 with latest firmware update (PS+ member with auto-update: on)
Video files: 1920x1080 FPS 23.976 Program Stream MPEG-2 for Bluray *.m2v (transcode with FCP Compressor)
Audio files: Dolby Digital Audio *.ac3
    Burner software: CyberLink Power2Go V6
Burner hardware: HP BD Writer bd340i
    Media: Verbatim BD-R 25GB 6x Speed
    Project size: 20/25GB
The project setting in CS6 is: Blu-ray NTSC with MPEG-2 Codec at 1920x1080 at 23.976FPS
The “Check Project” shows no error.  I build (output) as an image, then burn the *.ISO file using CyberLink Power2Go.
The BD-R work fine everywhere (LG & Toshiba player) except on my PS3.  The BD-R has the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folder, so I don’t know why my PS3 don’t recognize it.  And I have three PS3 at home; 1xPS3 80GB version (3yrs old) and 2xPS3 super slim (1yr old).  All three are unable to see the BD-R.  My PS3 work fine with all other media (games & movie Bluray); and I highly doubt that all three have trouble with the Bluray player.
I did the same process last time (in 2013) and everything is working fine, all the same configuration, except I used Adobe Encore CS4.  My PS3 was able to read and recognize the BD-R.  But since CS6, my PS3 don’t see the BD-R.  I also put back the copy that I did last year with CS4 (just to make sure that is not a PS3 firmware issue) and the Bluray work fine.  The media (Verbatim) come from the same tower (leftover from last year).
So everything point toward CS6…is there something that change from CS4 to CS6 for Bluray creation? Jumping from Encore CS4 to CS6, I don’t see anything different, but look like there is, because the Bluray can no longer be played on my PS3.  Please help!

Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
