Downloaded IOS8 and now my iPhone AND MacBook keep timing out. HELP!
Im having a problem with my Phone and Computer timing out after trying the developer ios8! i dont know what happened ;( its a brand new macbook pro with retina and iphone 5s!
This is a HUGE bug and an incredible embarassment for Apple. I had the same problem has many-transfer of data (music) hung on the last step. Don't waste your time...it won't transfer. I tried everything I could for 8 hours. Next day went to Genius Bar (this was only 3 days after 1os 8 release). Replicated problem for Genius. He couldn't figure it out. We googled so I could show him it was a widespread problem. He was honest-he said this is the biggest bug he has ever seen and Apple has to be working on an update via itunes or iOS. Still no word, and the os has been out almost a week.
Ok..everybody screws up. But Apple isn't even admitting this is their problem, that they are trying to fix it, and they will issue a patch. Complete silence. That is incredibly bad business.
They will release a patch eventually, but they won't talk about this huge screw up that should easily have been picked up.

Why can't I update my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1? Every time I try it gets all the way done downloading it; however when it's processing the file the page tells me "There is a problem downloading the software for the iPhone. Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. or try again later." and next to the file it has err = -3259. I have tried this 17 times and it won't work. My iTunes is completely up to date. I have made sure that my connection is fine and I have tried turning my firewall off with no avail. This has happened to me before but usually the update will go through after 2-3 tries, never to this extent. I don't know what to do. Help!

I just had the same problem updating my iPhone 4. I found out by turning my Kaspersky virus protection OFF, then everything worked out, and I was able to update my phone.
Virus protection programs can cause alot of problems sometime, so it's worth a try if you haven't already tried. -

Downloaded iOS8. Now phone crashes and wont go into recovery.

I updated my Itunes and downloaded iOS 8. When I plugged the phone in and selected update phone, it started updating, and then said there was an error. The phone just keeps crashing and the screen goes all different colors and fades out. Wont enter recovery mode or anything. Once or twice over the last 4 hours it has come on completely like a brand new phone, but before I can back it up it cuts right out again and can't be found.... HELP!!!!Have you tried to restore from DFU mode?

If that doesn't work, your phone may have a hardware issue and you'll need to schedule a Genius Bar appointment. -
my phone was not working only the restore button was available so i restored it and they told me i have to update my iphone 5s as well. i waited till the end the update software was downloaded successfully but then the iphone restarted by itself and now its not working. the iphone screen is shown the picture when you first time open the phone to connect it to an itunes. i connected it by it not working, i restart everything still not working:( i need help asap please. thankyou
it seems like apple's activation servers have gone down under the weight of the overwhelming amount of activation requests. you will be able to activate your phone once the servers are able to catch up with the activation requests.

I changed my password for iCloud on my Mac, but my iPhone and iPad keep reverting back to the old password which no longer works. I cannot iMessage or purchase anything from iTunes.

Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone.

Try temporarily disabling your firewall and security software and see if the download will complete.
