Drill down in crystal on same page

I have hierarchy in my Report . I want to do drill down on that hierarchy field on same page . So that that user can Expand and collapse that field . Pls , i am waiting for your reply.

In-place drill-down is not built into Crystal but you can add such functionality if you develop your own viewer application with the Crystal runtime components.  You can see a [video demonstration|http://www.milletsoftware.com/Download/DLV_InPlace_DrillDown.wmv] of how this works in my viewer app.

  • Looking For Method Of Displaying Drill-Down Subreport Data On Same Page

Not sure what the technical term for this is, but I need to find a way to display dynamic drill-down sub-report data within a report.  Here is an example of what I am trying to accomplish:
    + DATA SUMMARY 1
    + DATA SUMMARY 1
    - DATA SUMMARY 1
            data detail 11
            data detail 12
    - DATA SUMMARY 2
            data detail 2
            data detail 2
The idea is you click on the + (plus sign) and the subreport detail unfolds below the summary row.  To close the sub-report data, you click on the - (minus sign).  Right now, the report pops up the sub-report data in a separate tab, which is not what the client wants.

  • Drill Down in crystal report

    Dear Members,
I have designed a report in which there are 3 groups namely Customer Name,Invoice No and Items.
I need to display the report in a way that.
If i drill down say in customer Name it should list all the customer Name along with invoice No.
If i drill down further for a customer say solns1 it should list the invoices for that customer,
If i now drill down say invoice No then item details should be displayed .
I want all of these to display in a same page.Is this possible?
Any suggestions would be of great help.
    Customer Name say Solns1,Solns2,Solns3
          + Solns1
             +InvoiceNo
                +Items
           + Solns2
                +InvoiceNo
                    +Items
           + Solns3
    Thanks And Regards,

One of the 3rd-party Crystal Report viewers listed at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html provides that functionality (but it requires you add some formulas to the report to enable that behavior).

  • Drill Down in Crystal Reports

    Gurus,
I am trying to add drill down to my Crystal Report, I know this can be achieved by using Hyperlink but the button for drill down is disabled. How can I enable this achieve the drill down function. Please find attach file for your convince.
    Faisal Baloch

    Hi Faisal........
    Please check the below explanation.......
    The Report Part Drilldown option
The Report Part Drilldown option lets you define a hyperlink so that the Report Part Viewer can emulate the drill-down functionality of Crystal Reports. The Report Part Viewer displays only destination objects; therefore, to make drill down work, you need to define a navigation path from a home object to one or more destination objects. When you have multiple destination objects, they must all reside in the same report section.
The Report Part Drilldown option does not affect the DHTML page viewers since the option emulates the default Crystal Reports behavior for drill down (which the page viewers already support). Page viewers, however, do not limit which objects are displayed—they always show all report objects.
Note: Use the Report Part Drilldown option only to navigate between objects in the same report.
Because the Report Part Viewer shows only destination objects, you must define Initial Report Part Settings (that is, a default home object) for a report before your Report Part Drilldown hyperlinks can work. A report's Initial Report Part Settings define the object that appears first in the Report Part Viewer. Think of this object as the place you'll begin your path of drill-down hyperlinks from.
To define Initial Report Part Settings
Open the report whose default home object you want to define.
Right-click the object you want to set as the default home object and select Copy from its shortcut menu.
On the File menu, click Report Options.
In the Initial Report Part Settings area of the Report Options dialog box, click Paste Link.
The program pastes the name and data context of the report object you selected as your home object into the appropriate fields.
Tip: For more information about data contexts, see Data context formats.
Include another object from the same section of the report by entering a semi-colon (;) and typing the name of the object.
    Click OK.
To create a Report Part Drilldown hyperlink
Note: Before you begin this procedure, be sure to read Setting up navigation to acquaint yourself with the limitations of creating this type of hyperlink.
Open a report and select the intended destination object; then click the Format button on the Expert Tools toolbar.
Tip: You can also do this by selecting Format Field from the Format menu.
In the Format Editor, click the Hyperlink tab.
In the DHTML Viewer Only area, select Report Part Drilldown.
The "Hyperlink information" area changes to show the fields available for this type of hyperlink.
The Available Fields area shows only the sections and report objects you can select for drill down. In general, these objects include field objects, charts, maps, bitmaps, cross-tabs, and text objects contained in the next section down (that is, for example, objects in group two when the object you selected is in group one).
Note: The Available Fields area does not show suppressed report objects.
In the Available Fields area, select the section or report object(s) you want to use as your drill down destination.
Tip: Use the Report Explorer to quickly identify the default names assigned to each of your report objects. To open the Report Explorer, click its button on the Standard toolbar.
You can add all the objects in a section by selecting the section node. If you expand the section node, you can select one or more of the objects that it contains.
Use the arrow buttons to move the selected section or object(s) to the Fields to Display area.
For ease of identification, the program creates a section node in the Fields to Display area. This node contains the objects that you selected in the Available Fields area.
If you want to add another object to the Fields to Display area, select it in the Available Fields list and drag it into position.
    Note:
The position an object has in the Fields to Display area determines how it appears in the Report Part Viewer; top to bottom in the Fields to Display area equates to left to right in the viewer. Use the arrows above the Fields to Display area to change the order of objects. (Note that a programmer can alter this default behavior through the PreserveLayout property of the Report Part Viewer.)
The Fields to Display area can contain only one section at a time. If you try to add a second section or an object from a second section, it replaces any existing section in the Fields to Display area.
    Click OK.
You have established a hyperlink from your report's home object to a destination object or objects. In the Report Part Viewer, you will see the home object first, and when you click it for drill down, you will see the destination object(s).
    Regards,
    Rahul

  • Anable drill down to crystal from xcelsius

    Hello,
I would like to know what are my options to have a drill down or link to crystal reports from xcelsius?
I have note for only one option, where I can put a "url button", in this option, is it possible to redirect to a crystal report which I save on my local computer or only to the server?
    I will appreciate your answer,
    Thank you

    Hi,
    you will have two options:
    1) OpenDocument: To open the crystal report with an URL using the URL Button in Xcelsius:
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_url_reporting_opendocument_en.pdf
It works only with reports saved on InfoView.
    2) Use Dashboard Builder (Inside InfoView)
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_dashboard_builder_user_guide_en.pdf#page=34
There you can show Xcelsius and Crystal reports next to each other, interaction from Xcelsius to Crystal reports parameters is possible through "content linking"

  • To display drill down values in the same table

    Dear Friends,
Suppose if you apply drill down on one object, it wont appear upper level values of that perticular object. If you want to display all levels of values in the same report during drill down.

From your view I belive that currently you have a structure in Rows containing Shipping and Sales for Current and Last year. Moreover, you have Year in the column and that is the reason you are getting the numbers in two different columns.
My suggestion is like this, remove the KFs from the selection of the structure and keep the name of each of the elements as it is. Remove Year from the Column and include them into selections of the structure elements.
Add the KFs, shipping and Sales into COlumns. Now as you already have restrictions into your selection, your numbers will be restricted in the output, but again here you will have Shipping coming in one column and Sales will be another column.
But you have above mentioned structure, you can include the cell refercing into the query. Overwrite the value of cells at the intersection (Shipping / Current Year) or (Shipping / Last Year) with the adjustant cells which will be (Sales / Current Year) and (Sales / Last Year).
    ______________________Shipping_____Sales
    Shipping (Current Year)______1000
    Sales (Current Year)__________________1000
    Shipping (Last Yera)_________2000
    Sales (Last Year)_____________________5000
After you apply cell referencing, 1000 and 5000 sales will be filled in the empty cells next of shipping next to sales.

  • Drill Down Report to Summary Report Page Navigation

    Hi,
    I need technical input.
I have 1 summary report, which is having two columns i.e. Name, ID.Name having hyperlink which navigates to drill down level report.
How to go back from drill down level report to summary report.
Note : Using IE back button it is not full filling becz whenver user navigates the data in drill down reports
Example : In drill down report i have 200 records where i have traverese to 175 records.Where i have clicked 6 times next level page button, In this scenario where user click on the IE back button it not takes back to summary report rather than it traverse back 150 records.
    Thanks in advances
    Regards,
    Murali

After creating the hyperlink in your ORACLE report you have to do the following
    Here are the instructions
    1. Open Adobe Reader 8.0 (not sure if earlier versions have an internet option.)
    2. Click edit
    3. Click Preferences
    4. Click Internet
    5. Remove check mark for Display PDF in browser
    6. Click ok
    7. Close Adobe Reader
    8. Run your UI
    9. Generate a PDF report
    10. A pop-up window will appear. Check remember and then click ALLOW
    11. Enter username and password (this needs to be done only once to initialize the connection between Adobe and Oracle login app)
    Good luck

  • Show drill down with in same page in Oracle BAM 11g

Is it possible to show drill down report with in same report page?say once i open a report A, user can see only report A.Once i drill down to next level the report page will show report A and next drilled reoprt say report B and like this.

You mean to say you have two different reports like a master summary report and second as detailed report or you are just using bam hierarchichal drilling to drill down to the lower level detail?
BAM driving feature works on the two views in the same report like you have a list view at top of report and a pie chart view at the bottom, then you can pass parameters(like cliking on a row of list will pass parameter to the bottom view) from the top view to the bottom view and depending upon the parameter passed, the bottom view will get updated. In this case, you can see both the views simultaneously on the same page.

  • Drill-Down from several Charts to Same Target

    Hi,
we have built a dashboard with 3 (soon to be 6) column charts and one line chart below. The colum charts represent 6 KPIs aggregated for a year for different warehouses. Each warehouse is a specific series (because we want them to have a individual colors). When the user clicks on a warehouse in one of the column charts, we want the line chart above to show the
For this purpose, we have all column charts store drill-down values to the same two cells:
    - One cell stores the series name (warehouse selected)
    - One cell stores the name of the clicked line chart (we use a single cell with the chart name as source for the first series of each chart. After the first series is selected as the default drill-down, this source and destination seems to be used for every series selected, which might be a bug)
Our problem is, all queries for the charts are loaded at startup. The default drill-downs for all charts are done, and we have a random chart in the drill-down destination. If the user clicks the same chart again, we do not notice this as the value of our target cell does not change. We have tried several solutions for this, but nothing is really satisfactory.
Does any of you have an idea, or a similar dashboard maybe, where the drill-down of several charts (preferably with several series per chart) is stored into a single target chart?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sebastian

    Hi Sebastian,
You cannot have drill downs from different charts to the same target.
As per your scenario you have 3 column charts with warehouses displaying their respective 3 KPI's values. I believe you would have created a series each for available warehouses. If you have selected drill down on load for all the column charts with one single target then at load all the three column charts will try to place the destination of their selected series(based on warehouse selected) to the same target.
And also as you mentioned when the user tries to select the same chart again the target doesn't change, the reason is the same as all the charts are trying to put the destination of the series in the same cell.
Instead of doing it this way, what you could do is to name the series of all column charts the same and have the series name put into one cell. Then based on this series name you can lookup the data for that warehouse and display it in the line chart.
Here again the user has to select the same warehouse in all the three column charts else it wont work.
    Hope this was useful =]

  • Drill Down on one page (as opposed to two)

Can a drill-down be done on one page, rather than two? I'd like to create a simple report with counts and have those counts be hyperlinks. When the hyperlink is clicked, I'd like to show the detail that make up those counts.
Hope this simple question makes sense.
    Thanks!
    Steve

    Sergio,
Thanks for the reply - I do appreciate it. I guess what really confuses me then is how to create a region (I'm assuming my page would be constructed of two regions - one that shows summary data with hyperlinks, and one that will show dynamic detail - based on which item they want to run details for) that can be hidden and shown? I have this problem on another page I'm working on - I just haven't figured out how to hide a region until a submit button or hyperlink is pressed?
    Hope this makes sense.
    Thanks!

  • Drill Down information -  not shown in another tab, no navigation

Issue with Drill Down in Crystal Report Viewer 2008:
when clicking on summarized data, detailed data is shown, but it canu2019t be navigated if it has many records in more than 1 page.
Reason? seem's that the navigation logic is for the report itself (parent-summary), without taking into account this hidden data, even if it is visible after clicking.
    Any clues?

  • How to Avoid Printing the data twice when the sub report has drill down?

    Hello,
I have a sub report that has drill down which is placed in report footer. When i run the report sub report displays the data but when i tried to drill down it displays the same data again. After that i can able to drill down on sub report. Is there any way to avoid
    printing the same data twice.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If the subreport you're referring to does not grow in size and it does not span multiple pages and you know the size of it, here's what you can do to stop drilling into subreports :
    1) Create a text object as large as the subreport (perhaps bigger than it) and fill it with spaces or new lines
    2) Place it 'over' the subreport such that it covers the entire area occupied by the subreport
    3) The subreport at all times should be smaller than the text object in all dimensions
Now, when you hover the mouse over the subreport, there isn't any magnifying glass for you to drill down into.
If the subreport has further drill-down functionality, then this isn't for you! Because, it just wouldn't allow you click on any objects in the subreport because of the text object eclipsing it. This is the only workaround I know at this point in time and I know a lot of users are looking for this.
I would suggest that you log this as an Enhancement Request at http://ideas.sap.com for our developers to have a look into this.
And finally, I also found an old forum post where Jamie has suggested a way to get this working on the Business Objects Environment. Give it a shot, if that's where the reports are eventually run.
    How to disable subreport view
    Hope this helps!

  • Using selected items from drop-down list in rest of page

    Hi,
I hope I'm able to describe clearly what's the problem.
So I'm implementing a form for the moment. It contains a drop-down list. The user has to select one item from it and as a result another drop-down list on the same page needs to be filled with a couple of options. I wanna do this without refreshing the page, cos else I have to retrieve all the values from boxes that were allready filled in. Is it possible?
    Greetings,
    Raf

This cn be done with javascript. But you need to cache the data on first load of your jsp.

  • Drill-down to other oracle applicaitons

    Hi!
I am new to HTML DB. Is there a way to drill down other other oracle application pages (with different application frameworks, ie OA Framework) from a HTML DB Report?
    Regards,
    Shahin

    Shahin,
When you situate a link on a report line, the link is available to click on and when you do so you'll go wherever it leads. However, there is no automatic linkage between your application and other applications, whether the supporting technologies are common or disparate, beyond that which you deliberately plan for and implement, for example, in the area of authentication, session management, reciprocal awareness of application cookies, and inter-application navigation. But without doing anything special in these areas, you could provide a link to an Oracle apps page in your HTML DB report. When the link is clicked, the user might have to authenticate and when they're finished with the app, they might have to use browser window/navigation controls to continue using the HTML DB app, but that might meet your requirements.
