DS board profiles
1. In DS Board -- we have DS strategy profile as SAP001 and PP strategy profile as SAP002 and we are running Heuristics like -- schedule sequence, remove backlog etc . These Heuristics have their own strategy settings related to scheduling mode and planning direction- how DS strategy profile or PP strategy profile influences the production planning and scheduling here ?
(a)Taking an example --In PP strategy profile(SAP002), the scheduling mode is -- 'infinite scheduling' while in case of DS strategy profile it is 'find slot'.Heuristic 'remove backlog' has scheduling mode as 'insert operation'. If I run heuristic 'remove backlog' in DS board then what scheduling mode will be chosen by system out of 3 -- Find slot, infinite and insert ?
(b)In case planning directions are different between PP strategy profile, DS strategy profile and the Heuristic being run --then which planning direction will be chosen ?

The DS strategy is used for the following actions: Reschedule, deallocate, interrupt operation, fix, cancel fix, and reschedule using drag and drop.
The PP strategy is used for the following (order processing) functions: create order, create based on templateedit, change quantity and change source of supply.
For DS functions such as scheduling or rescheduling, for example, the system uses the DS strategy profile whereas it uses the PP strategy profile for PP functions such as creating an order or changing an order quantity.

Error while transporting Planning board profiles from Dev to QA
Hi All,
I have created planning board profile by copying an already existing Non-Standard profile.
The Profile is working fine in Dev and i am able to see all the charts and Graphical objects as per the settings in the profile.
But when i transport the profile to QA, it is giving error SAPBARC with text "Illegal number of columns in Chart". I checked what setting have been transported, and found that many of the setting have not been transported for the profile.
Also tried to move all the profiles, thinking, there might be some dependcy among them. But the problem still persists.

Before transporting transformation make sure either of source or target should availble in target system.
suppose you have a transformation between Data source and Data Target, first transport Data source, then transport Transformation along with data target.
Before tansporting Transformation either source or target should be avaialble in QA system..then only transportation will happen smoothly..

I am trying to customize DS board. I need to change the color of Operations based on Setup Group:
Things I have tried so far:
1. Created new DS Board Profile coping SAP001
2. Selected Operations Chart
3. Created Graphical Objects (Field Selection as Setup Group) OPR_DEF_DY_3 copying graphical object OPR_DEF_DY_1
4. Changed color of Graphical Element operation under OPR_DEF_DY_3
5. Went back to Charts - selected Operations Chart
6. Selected Decision Table For Graphical Objects and changed all the conditions to:
If Table (4) Operations
Filed Name as Setup Group
EQ
Compare Val '2821'
Then Graph ID 'OPR_DEF_DY_3'
Some how the DS board is not taking the color from OPR_DEF_DY_3 its taking color from OPR_DEF_DY_1. What ever color is changed in OPR_DEF_DY_1 is getting reflected in operations.
I am looking for Graphical element (ex OPR_DEF_DY_3) selction based on setup group (ex. 2821)

This is standarad SAP feature that order get fixed whenever you schedule it in non working time. This is to avoid moving of order scheduled in non working time into working time by automatic scheduling function.
Only way is you need to unfix it as soon as it is scheduled in non working time.
There are following options-:
1. Through production Planning table you can unfix all the operations scheduled in non working time in mass at one go.
2. You can use user exit APOCDPS1 and restrict orders to be unfixed during production planning run processing step. I mean you need to run function unfix objects in production planning run and through this exit you can select orders scheduled in non working time.
3. You can try useing user exit APOCDPS7 to define subsequent action as unfix order post scheduling order in nonworking time.

DS Planning Board Object Color Change according to Order Type etc.
Hi,
I want to differatiate the colors of the objects on the resource,
according to their certain propertis, for example order type,
But if they have the same status the sytem marks them on the same
color,
I went into the customizing for the BOARD Profile and color adjustments
but there are only certain criteria and I could not decide
which object type to which color,
Does anyone know anything about it?
MehmetSetting up the colour or Order (or actually Operations) can be quite a challenge.
Sugest you use the SAP standard, copy it and then change suitably.
Follow this in SPRO >> APO >> Supply Chain Planning >> PPDS >> DS Planning Board >> Maintain Planning Board Profiles
Here select the appropriate planning board profile, click on Chart. Select appropriate chart - like Operations chart will be a good choice.
Then double-click on the Decision Table for Graphical Objects, check the last mentioned Decision Group and Decisions.
That will have reference to Grpahical Object Id.
Pick up the Graphical Object ID and then double click Grpahical Elements from the left pane. Enter the Graphical Object Id (Planning Board Profile is already chosen).
Select the grpahical elements and click on the Detail button to see the Display Colour.
So if you need to change the Operations based on Order Type like Fixed, Deallocated, Created etc. then change the colour of the graphical object here.

Activity bar not displaying on Project planning board
Dear All,
I am getting one problem related to project planning board. I am working on a system in which when i am trying to run project planning board, its coming but in that gant chart i am not able to see bar for activity. Bar for project definition and wbs coming properly. In tabular form also i can see the activities. But the only problem i am not able to see bar for activity with relationships. I have check almost all configuration related to project planning board profile and also scheduling proflies.
Kindly suggest what can be the reason for the same.

Thanks for reply. I have check all these options but all things are in place. OPT7 setting also right there. Kindly suggest what other setting can affect. In the planning board i can see the activity at left hand side corner with details but in gantt chart where we see bar chart for schdulines there activties are not coming.

Reason for delay on the DS planning board grafic
Dear SAP Fans
Have you done any development on the DS planning board to show reason of the delay of a planned order?
We are implementing PP/DS and this is a hard requirement for the acceptance. The users have another schedule system with this functionality, when an order is delayed you can see the reason in the chart by clicking on the delayed order. When they see the reason they can see all the constraints that prevent the optimizer to schedule the planned order in an early date, for example:
- Order 0001 is delayed to 15.04.2011 because;
- Reason 1: Machine A is unavailable up to 30.03.2011
- Reason 2 : Componente 0001-01 have purchase order scheduled to 15.04.2011
- Reason 3 : PRT is under maintenance up to 10.04.2011
With this information on hand the user can take some actions to antecipate the order in case this order is causing delay on a priority A customer order. For example the actions could be:
- For reason 1, rearrange orders in the machine to schedule the order in an early date.
- For reason 2, negotiate with supplier an early delivery date.
- For reason 3, negotiate with plant maintenance to accelerate it.
Maybe something related to look for the delay log of a specific order.

I had a similar problem with a set up activity when I wanted to change the color of the activity according to the set up group. I changed the settings in the customizing Maintain Planning Board Profiles.
It is very difficult to maintain the decision table for graphical objects.
If you did this recheck the decision table.
Go back to the SAP default settings and check the planning board again.
Are the set up acitvities displayed now?
Then the porblem is with the decision table.

View Setup time in the DS planning board

Restrict SNP orders on PPDS board
Hi Gurus,
When ever I am accessing the Detailed Scheduling board I am able to see both SNP and PPDS planned orders.
I want to see only PPDS orders and not SNP orders.
What settings I have to do to achieve my requirement.

Here, you need to enter a condition for SAP APO Application eg.
IF
Table Name 3 Order
Field Name SAP APO Application
Relat. Operator NE
Compar. Value 4 << SNP
then process to next Decision group.

I cannot give you a complete step by step guide today.
The color of the operations of the orders you mentioned can be changed in the graphical objects of the Detailed Scheduling Planning Board Profile.
1. To carry out the activity, choose one of the following navigation options:
SAP SCM Menu Advanced Planning and Optimization® Production Planning Environment Current Settings Maintain Detailed Scheduling Planning Board Profiles

2. Select the profile SAP001 and choose Copy asu2026
3. Make the following entry:

4. Choose Enter.
5. In the Specify Object to be copied dialog box, select copy all.

10. Select the profile you have created before (e.g. DS001) and double-click on the Chart folder in the Dialog Structure section.

I use a single mixed resource. I do not want to see the SNP Planned Orders on the DS Board. This is in Resource Chart i.e. Chart Number 1.
I tried using the SET/GET Parameter, but it seems this works only for non-resource charts.

Under customisation, ie spro > sap guide > apo > ppds > detailed scheduling > settings for DS board > maintain planning board profiles
select the profile, and click on chart, select chart no 3 ie orders chart, and double click on it, you will get a new screen, click on field selection, pull order category in livecache and you can exclude category for snp planned orders EE.
Please confirm your findings

Error Message while assigning resource to work orders
Hi All,
We have the MRS tool integration with service work orders for scheduling. When we assign the resources with 9 hours as duration there is no error. When we allocate more than 9 hours for some resources, not all, we receive the error message as
" Duration 29,160 S is not a multiple of 15 minutes " . These duration of secs varies when the duration is varied > 9 hours.
We have checked the planning board profile configurations but nothing seems to be visible. In customising we have the following settings,
Time Granularity : 15 mins
Min duraiton of assignments: 15 mins
Automatic Assignment Splits
Min duraiton : 2 hours
Max overtime hours : 2 hours
Max Ratio is % : 75
Can anyone throw some light on this?

The MRS is integrated with Service Order types and the operations are selected for each order then the assignment of hours takes place in MRS.
If the assignment is done for 9 hours then there is no such error. These errors are very specific to some personnel numbers ( not for all ) where the duration is more than 9 hours.
Is there any availability of resources for this operation / job through configuration settings? Why such a question is some resources even when 15 or 20 hours is assigned , no errors exists.

MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) - Automatic splitting and calc. of AA/RU
I'm at a bit of a loss to figure out the cause of this issue I'm having. In our Sandbox if I assign a demand to a resource and the criteria from the Automatic Assignment Split from the Planning Board Profile is met then the demand is automatically split. In addition, the AA and RU columns are automatically updated to take into account the demand that was just assigned. All this in Sandbox is occuring as I expected. However, in our Development box, which is configured the same (the best I can tell), when I assign a demand to a resource that meets the Automatic Assignment Split criteria the demand is not split. Also, the AA and RU does not get calculated, in fact, the RU continually shows 100%. Any ideas where else I might go look?

Gantt chart- How to change the color of time bars of different versions
Hi All,
My Client wants to see all changes in planning schedule. I made different versions of these changes but he also want to see all these changes in gantt chart and in different colors. I tried to change the color in planning board assistant but in this screen (CJ27/ CJ2B). we cannot view all versions together. And if I use CN41, there I cannot change the colors of time bars.
Secondly, we can change colors of times bars of basic dates, forecast dates and actual dates but there is no provision to change the colors of schedule bars of different project versions. Kindly reply-
1. How to see all project versions in CJ27 or How to customise bar chart in cn41 or if we change in SPRO, then how to change graphic profile in project info profile
2. How to change colors of different time bars of different versions.
3. How to mention these legends (meaning of each color in chart) at footer of gantt chart (in print outs)

actually I've created new project planning board profile where planning board assistant is customized but unable to use this profile in CN41. we can change PS info profile in CN41 and that;s why I thought that planning board profile may be assigned somewhere in PS info profile so that changes in planning board assistant will be applied in CN41 through PS info profile. Graphic profile is too complex to understand and not sure if it will help to get colored time bars of projct versions in gantt chart. Still not clear.
Secondly not able to see all versions (snap shots) in gantt chart with different colors of time bars.
I mean planning board screen can be customized but we cannt see different versions here which are possible in CN41, but we cannt customize the gantt chart (time bars) in CN41. Pls help.

Hi Friends,
We have configured PAM with the request as Notifications and other related configuraiton settings as available in SPRO.
But when the request is created through Notification Type MF and the same is triggered in PAM03 - Planning Board Profile but the Y axis nothing is getting displayed.
To add more the Equipments confgiured are not getting displayed in Y axis for scheduling the demand. What more settings need to added.
Can anyone have come across a similar issue during your implementation?
