Was thinking about getting the E4200 but I really so no difference from the E3000 router which I have. Has anyone switched from the E3000 to the E4200 and noticed a difference in the network?

business process in sd module starts from pre sales activities & ends in billing or payment collection....... pls tell the answer....

    Hello,
It depends upon the business process of the client. some time it will be like
Inquiry --> Quotation --> Sales order --> Delivery --> Goods Issue --> Invoice --> Payment.
But in some of the cases enquiry may not be there in the process, and even some cases quotation too and these both are not madatory.
In SD point of view we are only bothered upto invoice, but the process end once we receive the payment.

  • What is the difficulty that you face as a Pre Sales consulant fresh into sales ?

A mostly dull day at Work.
Is SAP Pre Sales is an area which is pretty much superficial ?
Is the fact that it leads into development, installation. set up and customer interaction and project creation activities like the various phases such as preparation, fine tuning and creation, integration and Go Live a reality ?
Are pre sales consultants human beings who are expected to introduce their organizations by identifying potential leads alone ? Or do they even get more opportunistic and assume that this exercise eventually leads to a pre sales consultant having a had to play in further methodology and implementation.
Initially it is very easy when you just have to introduce a customer to a ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and the SAP Business by Design.
You have to just use common and communicative English and don't really worry about the complicated and accompanying jargon / technical terminology that is common when you are working with SAP.
Although you become accustomed to terms like the
    a. Profit Center.
    b. Cost Center.
    c. Deferred Revenue.
    d. Sales Organization.
    e. Service Organization.
The scary part is the onset or coming of related business terminology that is relevant to business scenario creation. As a suggestion I think real time invention of terminology is extremely important though it is equally important to remember key terms that has resulted in successful business implementation and running.
I would like to start with, for example "Business Insight" - Employees discussing over the newspaper be it politics, technology or general know how.
"Stretching your imagination " - Indicating that you are trying too hard and you need to cool down.
"Unresponsive Data Source" - When an employee becomes unresponsive and difficult to manage.
"Pass the buck" - A web source not lacking clarity but crying out for customizing.
Then there is the phenomenon that cannot be explained which is obviously a phase which requires further introspection and study.
Then there comes the requirement where you start assessing business requirement and you respect it when your boss asks you to develop as per the requirement.
As a pre sales consultant it is easy from me to create strategies which will introduce potential customers to Enterprise Resource Planning. The challenge is taking up complex terminology and to be good at it. The use of it will impress the customer enabling the creation of an excellent and communicative environment conducive to business growth, a vital ingredient to help build relationships.
As an organization I know my company requires leads to generate revenue. The more the merrier is definitely the run of the mill.
Does one do a PhD on presales communication and therefore acquire clear cut and flamboyant convincing interpersonal soft skills or do you develop the same as you grow along with the organization ? these are the questions running in my mind. Can you still play coy when the time is ripe. The order of the day is that you cannot and should not.
Assuming that the flow of cash is purely market dependent how does one base assumptions, arrange grammar, work with intuition, develop customer skills, listen to your managers, maintain alertness to ensure the same.
Certainly these are the more important and critical questions, requiring the same level of expertise.
Now I must be certain and assume thereby accumulating customer confidence.
I remember as a kid having to deal with conflicting scenarios and create write up's. You did better once you started doing it more often. your confidence levels started growing. Well this was the start given to me right from school.
I now realize that working at a new organization is also the same. You learn. Rewards
I know are also based on how well you learn apart from dedication and sincerity which comes with love for the work that you do.
I also believe that pre sales is an art when you have successfully convinced the customer.
Getting the customer, explaining business scenarios, emphasizing on dignity, telling the truth about organizations currently running ERP and generating huge turnovers are definitely good illustrations to start with.
It is easy when you have generated a good rapport with customer in meetings. There now comes the opportunity to create more leads and build rapport and extend existing relationships.
When talking to a potential lead if I say Demand Planning it is important to answer who is going to be handling the process as well as educate the vendor on the same. To keep him informed on the process enables him the comfort of knowing when and how to conduct demand planning runs ensuring a good and beneficial yield as well as a view into when the particular process must be carried forth including the handling of the same and how to schedule the same - although demand planning as a term may suggest only demand planning.
Obviously, it is this intelligence that is going to make the difference ..............

  • Sales Inquiry

    Hi all,
I am working on a research project on implementing Multi-agents into a SAP R/3 system using abap.
I am new to abap and want to know a few things.
I have taken a small business transaction of creating a sales inquiry.
I am trying to display VBAK table using selection-screen statments. for eg:
    tables: VBAK.
    selection-screen begin of line.
    selection-screen comment (33) text-001.
    parameters: 001 like VBAK-VBELN.
    selection-screen comment (33) text-002.
    parameters: 002 like VBAK-vkorg.
    selection-screen end of line.
it is giving me error which says: the field "002" cannot be changed. -
<b>Please let me know if this is the right approach to access the tables and insert data into them.</b>
    Thanks,
    Apurv.

    Jawle,
    That was about the parameter.
You can use SELECT statements to fetch the data into internal tables. <b> You should never update / insert / delete of the tables in SAP.</b> There are some BAPI's that will be provided, you should do any updation only using those.

  • Is it possible to mandatory a field(Sales Lead Name) in Sales Inquiry

    Hi,
I have a scenario like when sales dept creating a sales Inquiry they want  that a field is to be mandatory of Sales person name, who is responsible for the sales. They want that with out the Sales person's name it will not allow to create the sales Inquiry.
Now is there any way out from customizing?
    Please through some light
    Thanks in advance,
    Tokan

You can achieve your requirement through partner determination for sales doc header.
To Create Sales Personnel (if you are not using HR module for Sales Personal) in SAP, use Tcode VPE1.
You have to Maintain Partner Determination in SPRO:
IMG - SD - Basic Functions - Partner Determination - Set up Partner Determination
As you can set it up in Sales Order (say, At Header),
Click: -Set up Partner Determination for Sales Document Header
Maintain a Partner Determination procedure ZIN - Inquiry Order.(copy TA - Standard Order)
Make PE-Sales employee as mandatory in ZIN - PE-Sales employee in Partner Function Procedure in Partner Determination procedure.
Now, From Left-hand side tree, click on:
    Partner determination procedure assignment.
Here assign ZIN to your Sales Doc type (Say, IN - Inquiry).
    Again from Left-hand tree, select
    Account groups - Function Assignment
Here, Link all Customer Acct Grps to PE/ VE
Now in Sales Order (T. Code: VA11/ 12), to include Sales Employee:
    Goto --> Header --> Partner
here, in Column Partner. Function: Select VE/ PE as defined for Sales Employee.
    Hope this can assist you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Pre sales query !

    Hi all,
Guys this is not a technical query but i really didnt know whom or where to ask so i am putting this question here for all experts (whom i respect by heart)
Sir how do you guys become expert in pre sales. I mean client can ask anything from anywhere. They can ask me on the fly that how many ports or modules are in 3900 series router ? they can ask me if stacking between 2960s and x is possible ? what about 3560x and 2960x and such. How am i supposed to remember all this stuff ?
I know there are experts here who may know it all but what is the approach for getting such expertise ?
Please guide me guys i will really appreciate your feedback on it.

I suspect a lot of it is read off the Cisco Data sheets on the fly.
That's right, you'll spend a lot of time reading these, so worth bookmarking the common ones in your browser.
Cisco has a configurator within their CCW section. These is very useful, because it lists out all the possible part numbers associated with each product. You still need to do your research, but it's better than nothing. For example, it won't tell you that you only need one VPN license for a HA pair of ASAs. It won't tell you that you'll need a single 1m stack cable and for a large stack of 3750 switches.
There is so much Cisco product information that you can never learn it all. I keep my notes updated and list out key points for the common products. MS OneNote might work well, although I still keep everything in a huge Word doc. If I learn anything new and important, then it gets added. Can be a pain, but it's a great reference. The only downside is that old info must be cross-checked, because things change. For example, features can sometimes drop down the IOS feature sets as time goes by.
Take the most commonly sold products by your partner and build up some good notes on these first. Perhaps create some tables identifying key features, or use columns with tick boxes - i.e. Dual PSU?, stackable?, etc.
Make sure you understand how the part numbers are constructed for your key products. For example, the part number for a common fixed-chassis switch like the 2960 or 3750 will tell you the number of switchports, type of switchports (RJ45/SPF), PoE (none/low/half/full), type of uplinks (RJ45/SFP/both), speed of uplinks (1/10GbE), type of IOS feature set etc etc
Learn the key differences between the IOS feature sets for the most common products. This is important. You don't want any nasty post-sale surprises where the device won't perform a feature requested by the customer. It can be expensive.
Cisco CCDA and CCDP exams will help with any design work.
Cisco Live! 365 videos are good, so worth signing up www.ciscolive365.com
Cisco Design Zone can be useful, but will depend how low-level your pre-sales role will be. Some roles are quite high level.
Learn Visio (or similar) and create a base template to work from - i.e. get all your common icons and components ready, plus your subject box (i.e. title, customer, author, date, internal reference number etc)
Template a nice long list of common caveats to add at the end of your proposal - i.e. customer to schedule network outage window, customer to supply fibre patch leads, customer to make available necessary rack space etc etc etc. Just take out the ones you don't need each time.
Ask colleagues to vet your proposals whilst you're still learning.
There's probably more, but that should help get you started.

    Hi Claudia1950,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
According to the following article on iTunes Store pre-orders, "Most pre-orders will show an expected release date near or below the pre-order button."

  • Pre-sale questions?

    Hi,
since it seems impossible to contact Adobe in any way to get information BEFORE
    buying a product...
I need to know whether Premiere Elements 8 allows you to add subtitles to your
    movies?
I mean REAL subtitles that the user can enable or disable. I'm not at all talking about
free text titles that are imprinted in the video itself.
    Thanks for any help.
    Steve
P.S. if anyone has a pre-sale email address, thanks to let me know.

No, you can not add optional captioning to videos in Premiere Elements.
That's a function of more professional apps, like Encore and DVD Architect Pro.
