business process in sd module starts from pre sales activities & ends in billing or payment collection....... pls tell the answer....

Hello,
It depends upon the business process of the client. some time it will be like
Inquiry --> Quotation --> Sales order --> Delivery --> Goods Issue --> Invoice --> Payment.
But in some of the cases enquiry may not be there in the process, and even some cases quotation too and these both are not madatory.
In SD point of view we are only bothered upto invoice, but the process end once we receive the payment.

  • BPM Process not able to start from NWA

    Hi,
I have downloaded and installed  the trial version of NWDS and CE ehp1 server from SDN.
The server is up and running. I am able to create the sample BPM process and build and deploy in the server.
In order to start the process, if i open NWA and check in Configuration Management, the Process and Tasks tab is missing.
I checked in other tabs I could not find this. I reinstalled the server once again, then also same problem.
Please help me to overcome this problem.
    Regards,
    Krishnaveni.

    Hi Krishnaveni
The tab goes missing if your installation fails.
After the installation of server did u get a successfully installed message? I think your installation might have given a small error pop up, still server runs , but the last 2-3 steps in installation goes missing.
Copy all your installation files in to the system in which you are installing and then re install.

    Dear Vivek,
<b>AcceleratedSAP (ASAP)</b> is SAP's standard implementation methodology. It contains the Roadmap, a step-by-step guide that incorporates experience from many years of implementing R/3. Along with that, AcceleratedSAP contains a multitude of tools, accelerators and useful information to assist all team members in implementing R/3. Quality checks are incorporated at the end of each phase to easily monitor deliverables and critical success factors. ASAP is delivered as a PC-based package, so that - if required - an implementation project can begin prior to having an R/3 System installed.
AcceleratedSAP (ASAP): A comprehensive solution for the introduction of the R/3 System in your enterprise. ASAP and most of its tools can be used independently of an R/3 installation.
The tools available for AcceleratedSAP are:
The <b>Project Estimator</b>, an internal SAP tool which enables SAP consultants to accurately gauge the required resources, the costs and the time frame of implementation. The Project Estimator takes into account the project scope and several project and risk factors.
The <b>Concept Check Tool</b>, a tool enabling you to carry out quality checks on the project preparation, technical infrastructure and R/3 configuration settings. This is done mainly during the first two implementation phases of the R/3 project. In this way you are alerted to potential data volume and configuration conflicts that could lead to performance issues if not addressed.
The <b>Implementation Assistant</b>: The ASAP navigation tool that accompanies you through the five phases of implementation down to the task level. It includes a description and a detailed "how-to" for each task in the Roadmap. Along with that, many tools, templates and documents are hyperlinked to the task. The Implementation Assistant contains the following elements:
<b>ASAP Implementation Roadmap</b> and <b>Project Plan</b>. The Roadmap contains the five phases, from which you can drill down into work packages, activities and tasks. The Project Plan contains three components, a budget plan, a resource plan and a work plan. These are explained in more detail in the next chapter.
The ASAP Roadmap is the successor of the R/3-based Procedure Model, which was used until Rel. 3.1 in R/3 implementation projects.
<b>Knowledge Corner</b>, containing tips and tricks for configuration from consultants, detailed documentation on SAP’s implementation services, information on technical tools, as well as simplification guidebooks and R/3 Customizing wizards.
<b>Question and Answer Database (Q&Adb)</b>. Using the R/3 Reference Model structure, the Q&Adb is used to assist in gathering requirements for business processes, conversions, reports, interfaces, enhancements and authorizations. The database provides useful questionnaires to help you define the process needs and also serves as a repository for all this information. Since it is a database, it allows for flexible reporting. The business requirements generated from the Q&Adb are collectively known as the Business Blueprint.
<b>Business Process Master List</b>, to manage configuration, testing and the creation of end user documentation. The Business Process Master List is linked to pre-written Business Process Procedures (BPPs), detailled end-user documentation for R/3 transactions.
<b>Issues Database</b>: supporting project management, this database supports the entering, monitoring and managing of issues that come up during the project.

  • JCAPS 5.1.1 Java Collaborations in eInsight Business Process

We currently use JCAPS version 5.1.1. We use Java Collaborations (jcd) services embedded on eInsight Business process(bp) to complete a business process.
    Question:
Java Exception from a collaboration (jcd) is received by business process (bp) only if I have an output specified for that collaboration. Please let me know if this is a bug or a feature.

Consider that we have a JCD with input and output defined. When we drag this JCD service to eInsight business process canvas, bp creates 3 business attributes (ie 1-input, 2-output and 3-JavaException). We can use a named exception handler and use 3-JavaException attribute to handle exceptions from JCD Service.
Consider that we have a JCD with input (Like a One-Way service) defined. When we drag this JCD service to eInsight business process canvas, bp creates only 1 business attribute (ie 1- input). JCD service is capable of throwing an exception. How do we catch/handle this exception?
    Thanks,

  • Solution Directory--Business process --Check in /Out option

    Dear Friends,
I am working in Solution directory (t.code: DSWP). I have created one maintenance project. In this maintenance project i have maintained the following business process.
    1. Sale Order Processing
    2. Production Order Processing.
These two business processes are currently running in my R/3 production process.
In SOLAR01 , "admin" tab i have assigned project team member as "ZSRAGHU" for business process 'Sale Order Processing"
Like the same way, for business process "Production order Processing" i have assigned the project team member as "ZSRAO".
In SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN t.code, i have checked in the box "Restrict changes to nodes in project to assigned team members" so that only assigned team member can edit the business process.
Now i have assigned this maintenance project to my Solution. (The name of my Solution is "TEST")
As per the help.sap.com document, if the business process has been "checked Out" from Solution directory by the project lead, then only the team mmeber can edit the process in SOLR01.
    Am i right?
But in my system, the team members are possible to edit the business process (In SOLAR01..."Structure" tab) before the business process are being "Checked Out" from Solution directory.
I want to restrict this option to my team members.
    My requirement is:
If the Business process been "Checked out" in Solution, then only the team member can able to edit the business process in SOLAR01 otherwise i can not preserve my production business process....
Please guide me to achive this & will be very much rewarded.
    Note:
In "SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN" under "Scope" tab, check in the box "Edit structures" will NOT help to map this requirement as all aware.
    Regards
    Senthil

    Dear Senthil,
By Business Process 'Check Out', I hope you are talking of the 'Document' attached at Process level and not the Process itself, as in the structure.
I can understand your frustration about the indicator "Restrict changes to nodes in project to assigned team members" not working.
As mentioned in the online help, did you try to work your way through Authorisation Object "AI_SA_TAB" ?
Is it due to some other authorisation that users have, which 'supersedes' this authorisation object ? Did you check any SAP Note for this object ?
If nothing else works, can you try to introduce a 'Custom Status' and use the following IMG setting to restrict it by users:
SAP Solution Manager -> Configuration -> Scenario-Specific Settings -> Cross-scenario Settings -> Document Management -> Status for Documents -> Assign Status Values for Read Authorisation
This may be a workaround !

I am tying to illustrate a general sales scenario  as under:
--> INQUIRY (Optional - can be captured in SAP)
--> Qutation (Optional - can be prepared in SAP)
         <b><u>Quotation if accepted</u></b>
--> Receive confirmation of Order / Purchase order from Customer.
--> Create Sales Order in SAP (Reference of PO can be made in text field in Sales Order).
--> Create Delivery in SAP (Based on availablity of stock)
--> Pick / Pack (Optional in SAP)
--> Post Goods Issue in change mode of Delivery in SAP once material is ready to be despatched.
--> Invoice / Bill the Customer in SAP
         <b><u>Quotation if rejected</u></b>
--> Further Negotiate if possible & try to convert the Quotation to sales order.
         <b><u>Quotation if finally reject</u></b>
--> No further processing to sales order.

  • Sales Forum Mandate - Business Process Topics

    Hello All,
I would like to inform you of the mandate of this forum.  We are looking to build a knowledge base on business process oriented questions as they relate to sales.  So the questions posed should somehow relate to a business issue and should not be a purely technical issue.
For example, please do not post threads about implementation issues, customizing, BAPIs, etc.  These types of questions will be better answered in CRM General and Framework forum.
You can ask questions here about how new and old functionality in CRM supports the business processes you have at your company.
Thank-you for respecting the mandate of the forum.

    Hi Kimmo,
I wouldn't use process steps to refine processes. This is incompatible to SAP implementation content coming from BPR (Business Process Repository). But a good idea would be to copy the main business process e.g. "Sales order processing" into two new processes on the same level, e.g. "Sales order processing by manual input" (variation1) or "Sales order processing by incoming interface" (variation2). Then you can use the Compare Button on the variations to see if any changes have been on the main business process and copy them to the variations. This minimizes the effort to keep track of changes after creating the variations. When you run transaction SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE on that project these changes even get flagged. Mostly this function is used to upgrade against BPR or a template project but it works also for copies inside a project e.g. to model variations.

    Hi Matt,
Check the following in your process:
    - If you have gateways in your process, ensure that all the paths have conditions and atleast 1 default path for gateway is set
    - Check for Process Administrator assignment and TaskLevel/Lane level potential owners are assigned
    - Check for the i/o mapping of tasks
    - Check the Problem View for th errors.

  • Undeploying the BPM project from Oracle Business Process Workspace

    Hi all,
I am facing problem in deploying the project to Oracle Business Process Workspace, I had some issues while deploying the project for the first time, and now when i am again trying to deploy the same project, it is giving the error "*Deployment failed, Module already exists on server*".
is there any way i can deploy the project or delete the existing project from workspace and then redeploy the project ?
    IDE used : Jdeveloper 11.1.5
    Server used : Weblogic 10.3
Please guide me in this as soon as possible.
    Thanks and Regards
    Debarati

    Hi
    1. Yes, from EM Console, first Undeploy the Workflow Project that you can find under SOA -> soa_infra -> default node.
    2. Then expand Application Deployments -> Look for the UI Project (that has taskforms etc) and make sure to select it and Undeploy this also.
    3. Now comes, what and how exactly are you deploying your SOA/BPM application. Any SOA/BPM application will have one Workflow project (atleast) and one or more UI Projects (for each user task). Also there may be some other utility projects or EJB projects. Now to deploy the entire application you have couple of options. Just select your Workflow project and deploy and during this time, it will list out all UI Projects and you can check all of them. Also for Workflow you can check one check box to overwrite any existing versions like 1.0. In this way you will have full Workflow deployed and all UI Projects also deployed. Once you do this, you cannot again deploy just the UI Project. Thats when you get these errors like already deployed etc. Now disadvantage here is, if you just make only UI changes, you cannot deploy only UI Project since it is already deployed as part of full app. So you had to again deploy Workflow project and check all ui projects also. this means all your existing workflow instances will become stale (redeploy of workflow makes all old tasks stale).
    4. Another and more ideal standard way is, first deploy just the Workflow project and DO NOT check any UI Projects. Then from the Application Level, deploy the entire application that includes all the UI Project and any other Projects. Just select your application, properties and deployment section. And see the projects included in the application. Make sure you DO NOT check the workflow project. But check all other projects like UI or any other project. In this way, any changes you make to UI or EJBs, just deploy the application. Your workflow is still the same old. Bottom line, Workflow Project is created as a SAR (SOA Archive) which is like a jar file. And entire application is deployed like an EAR file. So you will have 2 files for deployment to any other Env where you do not have like JDev.
For now, follow first 2 steps, to undeploy all the stuff you have. Then you should be able to redeploy using one of the above options.
    Thanks
    Ravi Jegga
