E6 - Mail for Exchange-invalid credentials

Hi, need some help....
After configuring my nokia E6 for Exchange mail I keep receiving a message "mail for exchange-invalid credentials". I've checked all my credentials en configuration: they are correct.  I have tried the configurations on a Nokia E72 and that works perfect. Is this a known error or is there a setting I'm missing. Our company server is an Windows Small Buniness Server 2008.
I updated the firmware to version 025.007. That dit not help.

I'm also struggling to setup Exchange on my E71.
I'm currently looking to do software updates (I'm using software 211) and hoping the problems go away in the new cell software.
I put in all the settings, and it just fails to connect, yet, when we check our logs (Linux) we can see the phone making connection.

  • Is the N97 Mail for Exchange or MfE 'provisionable...

Background info:  I used to carry two phones, the N95 and the E51.  Before MfE 2.0 came out, MfE was not installable on the N95 (or any N series phones).  So I bought the E51 so that I can use MfE to have my corporate mail pushed to me.  Today, I'm the proud owner of the N97, with MfE 2.9.176 installed.  No more carrying 2 phones, and everything is synchronizing just fine.
Last week, my company announced a new policy regarding mobile devices.  Soon, they will enforce new security policies as available in Exchange 2003 SP2.   This really got me worried, because I spent quite a lot of money in investing in the N97!
We all know that Nokia states that only the E series devices fully support all security policies of Exchange servers.  (Nokia calls this 'provisionable' versus 'non-provisionable' devices.)  But here's the kicker.  In the Mail for Exchange Guide for Administrators (http://nds1.nokia.com/phones/files/guides/MfE_admin_guide_140709.pdf), in chapter 2, section 2, part 1 titled "Are your devices 'provisionable'?", it states the following:
    Eseries devices are provisionable
Nseries devices previous to S60 3.0 Feature Pack 2 (FP2) are not provisionable
Nseries devices after S60 3.0 FP2 may be provisionable
Supported devices not designated Eseries or Nseries may or may not be provisionable.
Well, that is kind of some good news.  But it left out key information regarding my N97, specifically S60 5.0.  Does anyone know if the N97 can be categorized together with those Nseries devices "after 3.0 FP2"?  Or can anyone identify specifically what security policies/features are provisionable in the N97 device?  This is important because I need to make the case with the IT management to put me in the exception list, if at all possible.  But I don't want to stir up anything until I know exactly what can or cannot be done with the N97.  This will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you very much.

Not only is Nokia's myriad of different web sites each requiring its own login credentials, they also have a myriad of places to go get software.  I have always thought that http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com will have all the latest enterprise software coming from Nokia, but no, that is not the case.  It turns out that http://europe.nokia.com/get-support-and-software/download-software/mail-for-exchange is the place to get the latest version.  Just select your device, and it'll give you the download link for the latest.
Just so you know, even http://www.businesssoftware.nokia.com doesn't have N97 listed as a device yet.
I really hope Nokia takes this consistency issue seriously just like how they're working on the consolidation of logins...

  • Mail for Exchange 3.0.50 - doesn' t sync Gmail any...

I have been using successfully Mail for Exchange v. 2.9.158 on my Nokia N95-1 to access Gmail and Google Calendar. Yesterday I have upgraded to Mail for Exchange v.3.0.50 and now I am facing the following problems: 1.When running Full Resync Mail for Exchange has forced the set storage destination for message to be changed from Memory Card to Phone Memory When I tried to make Full Resync with Mail for Exchange it at the end it forced to switch from using Memory card for storing messages to Phone memory. According message has been displayed stating that Memory card can not be used to store emails and therefore it switched to Phone memory. However at that moment there was enough extra space on both kinds of memories , and that one on Memory card was larger than available space on Phone Memory. I do not want to use Phone memory to store my emails as N95 Phone memory is so small. So then after Mail for Exchange finished a synchronization cycle I have switched again to Memory card option as a destination of all my messages - and Mail for Exchange has created MfE on Memory card too. I made few attempts, by disabling Email sync and then running Full Resync again, the result was the same/ After that I started to experience problem with synchronization that I never had with version 2.9.158. 2. Synchronization of email except starting Full Sync and few cycles afterward doesn't work anymore and provides on each synchronization cycle an error message "sync failed. If that continues please contact your administrator". When I switch storage to Phone Memory, however, evn with such message sync work. When I switch storage to Memory Card then after sync cycle there are all IMAP folders in place but all empty. My configuration setting now set as following: Connection Exchange Server: m.google.com Secure Connection: Yes Access Point: DTAC-Internet Sync while roaming: No Use default port: Yes * Credentials Username: [my email] Password: [my password] Domain: [empty] *Sync schedule: Peak sync schedule: Every 15 minutes Off-peak sync schedule: Every 15 minutes Peak start time: 08:00 Peak end time: 17:00 Peak days Mo. UP!
I have absolutely the same trouble.
When I sync gmail for the first time everything goes clear. After that I CAN recieve NEW mail on my phone on next syncs. I mean NEW is the mail, that haven't been read before with any other client.
But if I read this mail on other client, say in browser, the synchronization doesn't work anymore. I recieve no mails from that point.
    Regards.
P.S. went back to 2.9.158, everything works well

  • Mail For Exchange - Interesting and Challenging Pr...

    Hi all,
We've been running Mail For Exchange in our organisation for around 6 months now without a problem. And now we have a problem I cannot seem to father out. Searched forums, checked and double checked things and no further, so I post on here hoping one of you guru's can assist!
We have 5 offices - all of which have their own Exchange Server. Users in each office all use MfE. Our biggest office (Glasgow) has 3 Exchange Servers due to the size - so that is 8 Exchange Servers in total.
We use a Front End Exchange Server at our data centre (set up with a Verisign SSL Certificate) and backend Exchange Servers at each of our sites.
    So far so good :-)
All of a sudden, one of the Glasgow Servers has stopped allowing Mobile Phones to receive their e-mail. The other two Glasgow servers are fine and dandy, as are the rest of the offices - so the FE/BE setup must be fine.
Concentrating now on the server that is not working, I have went through every Permission setting on IIS and cross checked it with some articles on the internet. Everything fine. I have even cross checked the settings with working Exchange Servers in our organisation - again everything fine.
If I look on the IIS logs on the Front End server, I get an error 500.
If I look on the logs on the Mobile Phone, I get HTTP error code = 500 / Internal Server Error 500.
    Now the interesting part.
Following diagnostics on here and other sites, the first thing i do is browse to http://servername/oma on the Phone's browser. I put in my credentials and get in fine. So that would mean no certificate errors and the path to the BE mailbox works fine.
I can browse to affected users mailboxes on the PC side using OMA and Webmail - so again no issues with comms between FE and BE.
The issue is just MfE connecting to one server in our organisation.
I've been working on this for 2 weeks now, and I have to admit i am struggling what to look at next.
I've ripped out the Exchange bits on IIS, re-started the System Attendant Service and reconfigured the permissions. Nothing.
I've reset the Nokia and installed MfE 2.7. Same - nothing.
As i say, it is just one server affected. Everything else is fine. To make things worse, the server affected is the one which my mailbox is on, along with some of the senior directors.
Does anyone have any ideas what so ever? I'm sitting here with my fingers crossed.
    Regards,
    Colin.

seems like there are no Exchange server administrators in the forum, retro... sorry. I would love to help, though, but I'm just another MfE user.

  • Setting up Mail for Exchange with a Go3 key

I work at a company where in order to access the OWA login screen from the web, I have to first go through a webvpn login screen, which makes me generate a random number from a device on my keychain (Go3 key) to enter into the webvpn login screen. Then, I am taken to the OWA login screen where I can login using my normal network credentials.
Can Mail for Exchange on my Nokia E61 be set up with this type of access?

Sorry, I cannot think of a way of doing this.
I assume it is an SSL VPN gateway you use?

If anyone could help me I'd be very grateful. I have searched the web for hours to try and find a solution to my problem and have an ongoing support call with Nokia support but they haven't been able to help me.
My problem is that when I try a manual sync of mail for exchange 2.5.5 (or 2.5.3) on a Nokia 6124 I get the following error:

    Hi,
The Server Name should be "mail.domainname.co.uk". I'm not telling you to drop the .com/co.uk from the Server Name! Just drop the '/exchange' from the Server Name.
Try accessing this via the IE. I mean the whole qualified name "http://mail.domainname.co.uk/exchange". It should prompt u for a User ID and Password? The try logging in by prefixing the User ID with the domainname\UserID and then a valid password.
What is the domain name that you require? Keep this as the Domain name in the MFE.
E.g You logged in as hello-dom\robstoves and then a valid password, then the Domain Name in MFE would be simply "hello-dom"
Hope this hasn't confused u even further
    Give it a try.

  • Mail for exchange settings on N97

I have a N97 which mail for exchange was working happily on, synchronizing mail, contact's and calendar. The world was a good place!
The screen broke and  needed replacing on my N97 and  I have set up mail for exchange again. Now when it downloads mail, it downloads all of the other outlook folders inside my inbox as well as my inbox. It never used to do this and indeed this is not what I want.
How can I get my N97 to just download the inbox rather than all of the folders within the inbox on outlook. There must be some settings either on the phone or in outlook which defines what is synced.

Maybe you had earlier Mail for Exchange v2.9 in use and after setting it up again, you have got the latest MfE 3.0 version. The new MfE 3.0 version has as a new feature the possibility to view the outlook subfolders. These are, however, not automatically synced unless you subscribe to them. The unsubscribed folders show the mark (x) in front of the folder name. After you subscribe to a folder, the (x) mark will disappear from the folder name.

  • Mail For Exchange - Compatability/Downloads menu i...

    Using N79
    SW 31.002.205.4.
Up until this morning running MfE 2.9.158. Just been offerred 2.9.160 via App.Update. Post install check indicates this has been available for months - why the delay in pushing it through to App.Update?
MfE 2.9.160 still not fixed old issue of being unable to open MfE settings following phone restart - why not? - threads dating back to 1st quarter 2009! but this one explains the issue precisely:
    /t5/Messaging-Email-and-Browsing/Mail-for-Exchange-corrupted/m-p/603626/highlight/true#M21922
It's the only app on my phone that cannot be routinely opened - not good.
Notwithstanding this idiosyncrasy email syncing is more hit than miss but  falls way short of my iPod touch which is 100% rock solid regarding Exchange compatability. Does Nokia want Exchange Server based customers- my guess is not enough. Generally speaking if I notice emails hitting my iPod but not my N79 it's time for a  phone restart.  But that  kills the ability to open MfE settings So it's back to a re-install.
    If the above isn't bad enough Nokia has just made it worse.  This "current" link from the N79 support page is dead;
    http://businesssoftware.nokia.com/mail_for_exchange_downloads.php
and after much dead-ending find that the Ovi Store now contains MfE - no problem with that it makes sense to consolidate. But no mention of N79 being supported by the latest greatest MfE and Ovi only lists 3.0 as supporting FP1 phones - so wht about FP2?
Is my N series phone supported anymore - I've got no idea.
Wake up Nokia it's 2010 not 1990 - we shouldn't have to put  up with this **bleep** in basic functionality.
Judging by lack of action over the past 12 months have no hope Nokia will put this right but that my dear Nokia is how you lose customers to your rivals Apple and RIM. Pull your finger out.

I'm hoping this fix works for me long term and post as is.
Multiple phone calls to Nokia Tier 1 and 2 phone support heavily supplemented by some determined Google searching led me to the following solution.
First off the bad news. To fix the MfE issue requires a hard reset of the device. There's no way around this so resign yourself to it early.
The good news however is you can dramatically reduce the time needed to return your device back to its pre-reset condition by backing up your device using Ovi Suite. Forget to do this and you'll be re-installing your apps one at a time.
My issue was made more difficult because the usual hard re-set code (*#7370 #) would not reset the device i.e. full recovery of phone memory, complete wiping of contacts etc. Ignoring Nokia's advice to return the phone for repair! I turned up an alternative method which achieved the hard re-set I was seeking.
    As follows:
Hold these three keys down - *, 3 and green accept call - whie the phone is off, then power on keeping them depressed until the Nokia logo plays.
On the N79 this involves an usual amount of manual dexterity but nevertheless worked where the re-set code failed. Hopefully this won't be necessary for most users.
Once re-set you will be presented with the Set up menu as per a new phone.
With a fully recovered phone memory you can now restore your earlier backup via Ovi Suite, which for me did 90% of the work needed to get my phone back to its earlier personalised condition. I took the opportunity of checking for any programme updates of essential apps and updated as necessary. Re-installation of Speed Dial settings and permitted Bluetooth devices amongst other items was required but all in all all my data and file structure was faithfully restored first time around.
I am now running MfE 3.0 (actually 2.09.208 - see initial thread posting ) which Nokia support advise is not supported  for the N79 -  given the varying level of advice received I'm prepared to run with my own view that it works fine. If you wish to play safe you should be running 2.9.160.
I have re-booted the phone multiples times over the last two days and on only one occasion (which I'm going to pretend never happened) MfE has been rock solid. In addition Ovi Maps which had stopped opening - and was fundamentally what set me off down the road of a hard re-set - is now working perfectly.
I'm hoping this cures the irritating MfE problem long term pending Nokia sorting out whether they even support the N79 any longer as far as MfE is concerned.
As a sign off I will just say for my purposes the N79 is the best smartphone I've ever owned and supplemented with an iPod Touch is a fantastic work/play combination. If you are allowed tethering on your contract I contend Walking Hot Spot is THE killer app and so confident am I of my choice of phone I've just bought a second N79, at a much reduced price, which I'm going to use as a backup/extension to my existing N79 when it dies and goes to heaven.
Hope this post saves someone else some timeand effort.

  • Problem with Mail For Exchange over Nokia E7-00 (a...

Hi, I have a problem with my nokia E7-00 (Symbian Anna).
Until recently it worked fine with my terminal synchronization with GMAIL via Mail For Exchange.
I synchronized the mail (including folders / labels I have on my account), address book and calendar.
Suddenly, this synchronization does not work anymore, the mail is no longer recovered, the calendar does not show appointments and contacts are no longer synchronized.
Trying to send an email that works perfectly, but the mail is not saved in Sent folder on my nokia e7-00, also if I search on the remote server is a contact I found it perfectly.
In practice it seems that something in the synchronization mechanism does not work.
Do you have ideas on how to fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    MP

You may try rebooting the device to check if it works. If this did not help, you will have to re-setup outlook account on your device to get it worked.
Hope, this can resolve your issue.

  • Problem with mail for exchange after update on E72...

    Hi everyone,
I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing  a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
Can anybody suggest a way out.
    Thanks
    Anil

It could be a problem if you're using your network's connections...
I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...
Could be worth checking with them to make sure it's supported.

  • Calendar sync problem with Mail for Exchange

I have troubles syncing my calendar with Mail for Exchange.
I've configured MfE the same way I did on my N8-00 and it worked perfectly there. On my new N9 it just syncs Mail and the ToDo list of from the Exchange Server. Any suggestions what I am doing wrong?
Also, when I remove my MfE settings, the Calendars still are in the Calendar App. How can I delete them?

    Hi,
There could be some problem with the contact sync, because you had synched with MFE . Remove the existing sync for Mail for exchange and then try creating a new sync and then check, That should maybe solve the issue.
I had mfe configured and then removed and now then i sync with the Address book and Ical. Seems to be working fine for me, just that i use a N95.
Hopefully it fixes, let me know the outcome.
    Cheers

  • N9 after PR 1.2 update - Mail for Exchange is sync...

I have a problem with my N9 Meego after 1.2 update. I have mail for exchange account talking with exchange 2010 server and sync works just just fine with calendar and e-mail. Contacts on otherhand doens`t work. It says its bringing contact like 78 from mail for exchange but when its done you can`t see any.
i have done my account again many times but still contacts aren`t working. Should I do some hardreset but does that uninstall PR 1.2 update?
Help is needed or any ideas what could be done?
    -mika

Hey mate,  As far as I am aware there is no going back from PR 1.2, so you could try hardreset without concern of loosing this update.  Keep in mind you are likely to lose data, so make sure you back it up first.
I am sure of this, as I have tried to go back to PR 1.1 to get my mail exchange to work and even with trying to flash the device "downgrade disallowed" comes up and prevents me getting rid of the PR 1.2
You are luckier than me, I can't get mail, calender or contacts.  I am so annoyed that I accepted the update.  I am hoping that Nokia take note of this and fix the mail exchange in a new update
