E61i - 2GB Memory card showing as 242MB, not full ...

I have put a new Sandisk 2GB Memory card into my E61i. It only shows up as 242MB. I reformatted it with the phone with no success at accessing a full 2GB. What is going on? Did I miss something?

I do not know. Brand new, and no friends with similar connection.
I did call the company I bought it from and they sent me a second card. It reports exactly the same amount of memory. Maybe it is an incompatible brand? I don't know. I just want the memory to work. My original thought was that maybe it was just not able to read it all in one go, but this really made no sense since Nokia says it is 2GB compatible. hmmm.

    Hi taiwo22,
Not enough free space on disk C
Does the above said line says that you dont have enough memory on your phone's C: memory?  You may have sufficient memory on your memory card, but do you have enough memory on your phone ???
What exactly you are doing ???

  • Memory card in Nokia 7373 not showing

I have had a memory card in my nokia 7373 for some time and all has been fine. However, recently my daughter had the phone and someone pinched the sim card and it was dropped on the floor. Now no memory cards will work in the phone. I have put it in the pc and all the ringtones etc are still there, i have even bought a brand new memory card but it just will not show up at all.
    Can anyone help at all????
    Cheers

If no cards will work then the phone must have been damaged when it was dropped.

  • 2GB SD card shows only 1GB after formatting

I've formatted 2GB flash card using this utility. After this operation card had a strange file system, so I've foramtted the card using windows utility and card is visible as 1GB flash card.
How can I foramt this card as 2GB?

I have found some information that to solve this issue, you need the Toshiba SD Memory Card Format Utility V2.1.0.0. If you use an older version of the Toshiba SD Memory Card Format Utility and you format a 2GB SD card, this leads to a formatted 1GB SD card.
    Solution:
    1. Uninstall the old version of Toshiba SD Memory Card Format Utility from your computer
    2. Download the Toshiba SD Memory Card Format Utility V2.1.0.0
    3. Install Toshiba SD Memory Card Format Utility V2.1.0.0

  • Why does some images saved on memory card show up as a little icon with lightning bolt through it

I been saving images on memory card.. well as of lately some images have a icon with a lightening bolt on it..and images are lost

There is a problem with the SD card.  Reboot your phone and see if the problem comes back. If the problem comes back un-mount and remove the card and see if a computer can read the card.  If the computer can read it then move all the photos to the computer then reformat the card in the phone. Put the reformatted card back in the phone and take a picture.  If the problem persists then the card is corrupted in some way.  This is more common than you would think especially if you have a galaxy S3 and use SanDisk cards. I would try a new card from a different manufacturer.

  • Zen 4GB - ID3 tags on songs on memory card showing up as chinese/gibber

Any of the music on my Zen 4gb flash player itself can show the ID tags without any problem.
But, if I put that same music on my SD card and put it into my Zen player and play the music, it shows up as a combination of chinese characters and gibberish.
I've tried formatting the card into different file systems and nothing seems to work. The file names of the songs show up correctly, it's just that the ID3 tags are somehow corrupted.
    Any ideas?
EDIT - For some reason, random songs stored on the SD card ARE showing their correct ID3 tags. I've compared one file to the next and I can see no rhyme or reason.

I have the same problem with files on the card.
    Player:Creative ZEN, Version .2.0e, RAM 8GB
Card: SanDisk UltraII SDHC 5MB/s 4GB
So, if anybody has an idea how to solve this, I also would appreciate this.

  • My scroll bar dissapears when my firefox screen isn't maximized - how do I make it show up when not full screen?

This just happened spontaneously yesterday - did I press some strange shortcut to make this happen? How do I get my scroll bar back when not in full screen?
    Please help!

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and scroll bar fall off at the bottom.<br />
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.<br />

  • Viewing photos from memory card (n97)

i have photos on my memory card but when i put it in my fone my photos dnt show up any ideas?
my tones on the memory card show up

You can not in iPhoto - it is NOT a photo viewer - it is a database program and ONLY works with photos that have been imported into it
Use a photo viewing program to view the photos where ever they are - preview should work if your camera mounts to the desktop - if it does not mount then you will have to import them either to iPhoto or to the desktop (use image capture) to view them at all

  • My latest mystery USB 2gb memory not recognized

Just today when I plugged in a 2GB memory card dongle that used to work perfectly - my Macbook 13 won't recognise that anything has been plugged in. The device lights up but nothing appears on the desktop or in the Hard Drive root as a removable drive the way it used to.
I can't access it. Does anyone know why it would behave like this.
I've not told it to ignore any usb plugins. In fact the last thing I plugged in about a week ago was an EYE TV digital Freeview tuner which worked perfectly and I properly closed that and removed it when I shut down.
Why would it not read from the San Disk USB stick suddenly ?
I can't solve this one without help.
    Hope someone can
    Plado

I'll just go and mark this as answered because your help is indirectly very useful.
But what I actually did to solve it was I tried a reboot but no luck.
Then I went back to carry out a full Software Update which I had refused a few days ago because it asked to update at a time very inconvenient to me and I didn't want the interruption.
So I did a software update while looking for an alternative USB memory card. And after the update was complete and the system rebooted the USB was back to recognizing anything I plugged in including the Memory card that had failed.
The bad thing though is that once again the Software Update has prevented SAFARI from running and I've got to download it again and reinstall it. What IS going on with this Macbook Leopard system? It seems full of utterly ridiculous bugs that Mac have no business letting something in this messy state out on the market.
I'm sorry to be ranting like this but the average user would be constantly on the Support Line trying to solve problems that keep making the thing get stuck.
I have to say I am by now very unimpressed with the Apple Mac OS X and I am going to have to severely restrict my use of the machine because it just isn't versatile or well enough sorted compared with Microsoft Windows.
    Thanks for you input.
I think it's solved so I will mark the question closed but I still have to go and get this stalled Corrupted Safari back working again. What a bore!

  • N78 asking to remove memory card

Hi there, i have bought my N78 just one month ago and find it amazing for almost every aspect except that it has a problem with the memory card. The fist time i turned on the phone, i have no notice that the Nokia microSD 2gb memory card was inserted as there wasn't any icon in the screen. So as i removed it and put it back in, the card was recognized but after a while the phone showed me a message asking to "remove memory card and press ok".
I replaced the original Nokia card with a Sandisk card and still have the same problem, which is quite annoying because it is a brand new phone and i can't count with the memory card to store any information because after a while the card icon dissapears of the screen and it is like i have no memory card inserted in the phone.
    Any clue?? Thank you

There were a few similar issues with cards in other phones in the past - I thought Nokia had ironed these out, but maybe with the N78 still being quite new ..
I guess the most common issue was that the card wasn't formatted correctly. The way around is to format the card in the phone.
Another issue was that the firmware wasn't designed to work with larger volume cards. I'd be very surprised if this was the issue as 2GB cards have been around for ages, however it might be worth checking if you have the latest firmware. To do this you need to use the "Update phone software" option in PC Suite. This will install a newer version of the firmware is there is one available.
If neither of these helps, I guess you could try a factory reset. Not sure how that would help, but you never know.
NB: be sure and backup (and preferably synch) your phone before you attempt to update firmware or reset the phone as both of these erase everything in phone memory.
Have to say, the N78 I used didn't have any problems with it's 2GB card. It was SIM-free, though and SIM-free phones tend to be a lot less problem-prone than network-specific phones.

  • Moving files from Memory Card to Phone Memory on N...

    Hi everyone
i have put 8 small trimmed down MP3 files onto my Nokia N95, they are to be used for certain people on my CONTACT list
i sent them from my PC via Bluetooth to the N95 with no problems, they were then saved onto the 2GB Memory card
how do i then move each MP3 from the memory card to the actual phone memory, i take its best to do this as it takes longer to access the MP3`s when they are on the memory card to be used as ringtones?
or should i just leave the MP3`s on the memory card?
also, how do i select an MP3 and then assign it to ALL the individual contacts that i need to in 1 go instead of opening each contact and individually adding an MP3 to each one?
i have forgotten how to do it!
i reset my phone last night with the holding down of the Green, * and 3 buttons
i did this because my phone kept restarting about 3 - 4 times per day by itself, i dont have any applications on my phone or anything, not sure if its safe to put too many things onto the N95 internal memory, i dont wany anymore restarts!!Message Edited by waynester on 05-May-200702:44 PM

First of all if size of your mp3 was a concer then you should have used the Music Manager in PC Suite to convert them to aac as they would be super small in size.
Next use File Manager to move from the card to the phone. Better to sva eringtones on the phone or you would lose the 'link' everytime you take your card out.
Two ways to set the ringtone for everyone. First would be to set it in your profile. And the other would be to set it to Groups... and the last one, each contact at a time.

  • Files deleted on memory card

    Hi,
I just got a Nokia N73 and a 2GB memory card. One day i took the sim card out and put it in another phone and then back into my N73. First the phone asked for time and date information and then i saw that all my files on the memory card was gone? I repeated the operation again later, but it did not happen again. Is this a problem with this phone? I had y-browser installed...is this application known to cause problems like this?

Yes, the memory card seemed to be the problem. It's a TwinMOS card which is a brand that I have used many times before, so it was just bad luck. I traded in my card for a new one that seems to be working better. Things that seemed to slow down when i used the previous card suddenly works great Never owned a Symbian phone before so didn't know how good i was supposed to work
