Early Contract Cancellation

With the iPhone 4S to be released shortly, I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Verizon, and AT&T, but I'm on Verizon, so... cancelling contracts early, as AT7T did when the iPhone 4 was released.
Anyone know anything?

You want to switch from Verizon to ATT?
If so, contact Verizon about what your early contract termination fee would be. You can ask this without cancelling your contract, which you would not want to do until getting signed up with ATT. If you do this before getting signed up with ATT, you won't be able to port your number from Verizon to ATT. Signing up with ATT will cancel your Verizon contract - ATT will take care of porting your number from Verizon to ATT. Verizon will send you a final bill including your early contract termination fee.

  • Refund my $90 early contract cancellation fee... I do not remember agreeing to it!

    I was told that I agreed to a $90 early termination fee when I was re-negotiating my lost discounts on February 4th.  I'm old.  I do not remember that, nor would I have agreed to it...I would have switched to Cox.  This is a case where you say I agreed and I'm not going to dispute it... don't bore me with restating that.  I don't remember it and I'm the customer...remember?  After 1 1/2 hour of my life, that I won't get back, on the phone trying to credit that amount back to my account, and refusing at all levels, they hung up on me.  I think Verizon is the worst vendor my wife and I have to deal with.  Deception and bait and switch is your business model.  All we want is for them to match another provider in our area, give us a 10 year contract, and leave us alone.  I can't even look at the company logo without getting sick.  For now, we just want that $90 credited to our account and I'll deal with you again next year.  If you don't do it, we'll spend whatever life energy we have left going viral with your deception of these two old AARP members.  Hell, we may not live 10 more years.  Are you listening and hearing us???????????

    Couple of comments:
    1) This is mainly a user supported board.
    2) No provider will give a 10 year contract.
    3) Just about every provider is going to have an early cancellation fee in exchange for a contract. It happens for TV, cell phone even alternate electrical or natural gas contracts.
    4) You should have received info on Terms and Conditions when you signed up again. No one ever reads them yet they complain when they don't like them.
    5) I thought you typically get 30 days to cancel a contract from Verizon. Not sure how long it has been for you.

  • Early contract cancellation charges can anyone tel...

    I am moving abroad and need to cancel some of my BT contract. The 12 month contract for unlimited Infinity 1 £10/month and line rental with evening weekend calls started 22nd December. I will need to end contract around 1st September. I paid 12 months line rental up front for I think £159.84. I understand that I will owe a reduced monthly charge for line rental for the remainder of the 12 months and be due to pay something for the remainder of the Infinity1 plus a cessation charge of £30. Will any credit be given for the up front line rental payment and what will the other cancellation charges be?

    Here are the cancellation charges.

  • Early contract termination charges

    Can you please clarify the charges for early contract termination and where they are listed T+Cs.....  I recently added emobile to my existing broadband package only to recieve a 40 euro service charge in my bill..... When I questioned this I was informed that this is the "norm" , something that was not explained to me in the outset. Despite expressing my concern reference this charge eircom inform me that they will have to listen to the contract call ( ten days it wil take) and that I can not speak to the person for whom I spoke to originally. I was also infomed of a 150euro early cancellation charge although I have been a customer for 10 years. Initially it was explained that the reason for the charge was due to me changing to e-fibre, a produt that is not available in my area...... Finally, as I am not allowed to speak to the person who set up the contract , can I request a recording of the "set up" telephone call

    I was informed by a team member yesterday that the reason for the long delay 10 to 15 days that eircom needs to deal with a complaint is not due to the high volume of complaints but its because they have to "trace" down my original call and this takes quite a while because they have to go through thousands of calls to check my original call..... When I asked to speak to the original guy who took my call ( I gave his name etc) I was informed that I could not speak with him because he works in sales and not aftersales which I am now a part of........ customer service eh!!!!!!!!!! I have also not signed up for diret debit but eircom continue to use direct debit information which i supplied to them ten years ago...... They wont let me chang it and say that I will be charged if it "bounches" back........ I paid in full manually this morning......... Still awaiting feedback from eircom ref original points raised and guess what? you cannot verbally speak to someone in the complaints department...... Just waiting for another competitor to provide broadband in this remote part of the country!!!!

  • F.M or Table to get contract cancellation date in CRM

    Hi,
      Can you please let me know, where contract cancellation date would be available or stored n table or FM..
    I have header GUID of contract, to which table or FM need to pass to get contract cancellation date.
    crm_order_read function module is also not able to give the cancellation date.
    Regards
    Badari

    HI using this methods u can create dynamic internal tables,
      CALL METHOD CL_ALV_TABLE_CREATE=>CREATE_DYNAMIC_TABLE
        EXPORTING
          IT_FIELDCATALOG = FIELD_CATALOG
        IMPORTING
          EP_TABLE        = GFINAL.
      ASSIGN GFINAL->* TO <GFINAL>.
      CREATE DATA WFINAL LIKE LINE OF <GFINAL>.
      ASSIGN WFINAL->* TO <WFINAL>.
    Please let me know once the requirement clearly , is the fm or Method importing parameter is internal table , corresponding to that
    internal table you need to fetch data from data base.
    In general , field symbols holds some memory in memory area , I think just like pointers in C language , this holds address only , there we dynamically assign some structure .
    Let me know once if u not cleared ,
    Regards

  • Contract Cancellation Time Frame

  • Contract Cancellation and Penalty Charges

    I have recently received the letter from BT informing me of the impending price rise for line rental etc. I have generally been happy with BT but I'm now finding their basic price structure prohibitively expensive, so took the decision to move my business elsewhere.
    I contacted BT last week only to discover that I was tied to a automatically renewing 12 month contract that doesn't end until next March which would cost me over £40 to terminate early. My issue is that I received no notice from BT that the contract was renewing before the anniversary and there is nothing on the regular bills or the account section of the website stating this date. BT assure me letter were sent but it seems a common theme that these don't always arrive. According to BT's T&C's these letters should arrive in plenty of time to cancel if required. I understand that this price change may also be viewed as a material change in the contract I hold and so should allow cancellation without penalty.
    I raised a complaint to this effect as I feel these are extremely sharp business practices and generally unfair. I was told by the person raising the complaint it was basically a waste of time as these issues are regularly turned down. I received a call this afternoon stating the complaints dept was happy with the situation and would not be acting further.
    From what I understand Ofcom has already reviewed this situation and next month Penalty charges are being slashed. Please could somebody let me know how I escalate my complaint to Ofcom and also if there is an exact date when these reduced penalties come into effect?
    Rant over. Many thanks.
    Rob

    I can't believe this. I had exactly the same issue and looking at the date on your post, on the same day! My paper bill didn't arrive this month, it was due yesterday, today I received a call saying I had to pay my bill, so I checked online and noticed that the discount of my contract wasn't there.  I called them and they said they renewed my contract without my concent, neither my letter nor by phone. Like you they said a letter was issued, but I never got that letter because I had to complain from day one signing with BT, and I was desperate to get to the end of the contract. The person who picked up my call is some other part of the world, said I HAD to fulfill my contract whether i signed it or not. Obviously, they know nothing about consumers rights.
    I'm not sure how to deal with the situation now because I'm not going to pay for a contract that I didn't agree to, neither will I pay for contract that increased in value, and a contracted that was set before the letter changing the line rental.
    I'll keep an eye on this thread in hopes that someone has an answer for us. I'm sorry this has happened to you, but I'm glad in a way that my complaint is not the only one.

  • Change from BB to Android data plan - contract cancellation fee?

    Just wondering if anyone has experience with the following:
    I have a Blackberry (with data plan) that expires in July 2011 but want to upgrade to an Android LTE phone (I am eligible for NE2).  Since I will have to technically change plans from a BB data plan to a regular/LTE data plan, does that constitute an early termination of my contract and therefore be liable for early termination fees?  Sounds silly since I'm renewing for exactly the same thing but when I try to buy the phone and change plans online it seems to indicate that I'll have to pay this termination fee.
    Thanks!

    If you are just upgrading your BB to an Android(i.e. the Android phone being activated on the same phone # that the BB is currently on), then no, there will not be any EFT. You will have to sign a new 2yr contract to get the discounted pricing from Verizon and will be subject to an ETF if you cancel your line before your new 2yr contract is up.

  • Early contract renewal.  VZW won't budge!

    So I recently got a new job which has me on the road a lot, so the need for a BB/smartphone is a must now.  However, I still have a few months til my upgrade date, and simply cannot afford to pay $500+ for a new phone.  After a few calls, even going so far as to threaten cancellation, and ask for my termination fee, I've given up w/VZW. $$$ is everything, customer loyalty is nothing.
    Its ashame, as I can remember years back when VZW service was excellent, and willing to go that extra mile for their customers.  Not anymore apparently.   My work offers a better discount w/another carrier, so my decision to switch has been made pretty easy.  Sorry for the rant.  Its just unreal that they won't budge, its only a few months for crying out loud....  :-/

    Why should they let you get a new phone at a subsidized price when you have not completed your end of the contract you signed??? When you get a subsidized phone, they recoup the money through us completing out the two year contract. (Or 20 months)
    If they did what you want then we all could get subsidized devices earlier than required. I have yet to grasp why people feel they deserve something they are not entitled to, then throw the , "I WILL CANCEL THEN" comment in the conversation. You know how many times Verizon, ATT, USCC, TM and the rest have heard it??
    If you cancel they get the money they are deserved based on the contract you signed via the ETF..
    Now that I am done with my rant,  a few questions.
    Are you the Account owner??
    Are you over 12 months into your 2 year contract???
    Is your current base plan $49.99 or more a month (Data and texting addons do not count)
    If you can answer yes to all three, you are eligible for an upgrade. You will get a two year price on the device. You will not be able to use your NE2 discount and you MAY have to pay an add'l $20 for the device. Your contract date end date will be two years from the new activation.This needs to occur at a Corporate store or I think you can call in for the deal.
    Also VZW offers CPO phones at a discounted price wirh a one year warranty.
    Also you could possibly get a used Verizon Branded BB on Ebay. Just be sure to check and see if the ESN is clear.

  • BT contract cancellation

    Does any know how to cancel a BT contract. I advised them on 28th Feb to cancel my contract, sent back my BT hub (checked that hey had received it).  Now all I get from them is a bill every month for line rental and advise that I will be charged extra if I do not pay.  I am unable to phone as I am not in UK at the moment, and now where on there site is there an E mail contact.  It is very fustrating not be able to sort out

    It would seem that you did not make it clear that you wanted to cancel both broadband and landline.

  • BT Contract Cancellation - A potential Dominic Lit...

    Hello everybody, Im new to this but need some help/suggestions.
    Basically, we moved house recently and took out BT's 20mb Broadband and phone. Since joining we are not happy with any of it. The speed is around 5mb which is unnaceptable, were close to our GB useage and they charge a ridiculous amount per GB after this has been used. Added to this, they sent letter to us with the wrong name on the front, the customer service staff are very rude (Including the manager who I have spoken to)
    Anyway....Lets cut to the chase.
    Our service started on the 3rd June and on the 16th June (13 days after) we sent BT an email explaining that we want to end the contract. It says on the contract (which came into effect in March 2011), and I quote;
    "Once we have provided the service, you may tell us to stop providing it at any time by giving us 14 days' written notice"
    It says you may do this via phone, email etc so we emailed them on the 16th and got a call from them on the 17th stating that we cant get out of the contract. I read their terms and conditions only to be passed onto various people including the manager who told us that the terms and conditions do not apply for the broadband. He also kept telling me that it doesnt say that in their terms and conditions when it obviously does, it's in writing on a letter we have received and also on the internet.
    Can anybody advise us what to do next? We have the right to cancel but they are somehow able to lie to us whilst still taking our money. I cant believe how a manager can be so false and be a blatant liar, despite me pointing out the ovbious to him. Its like talking to a brick wall!
    Thanks for reading and hopefully somebody can point us in the right direction.
    Cheers, Rich.

    Thanks for all the replies. Im pleased to say the issue has now been resolved - Well kind of anyway, but were happy with the outcome.
    Basically it was my Mom who took the contract out and she claimed that she was not told about the GB useage during the phonecall with BT. I wasnt sure of this obviously because I wasnt there at the time. The only thing I was so angry about was the fact that they were basically changing the contract agreement themselves even though it is in writing.
    They have investigated our complaint, listened to the phone calls and the BT operator did not tell my Mom about the GB useage so we were in the right.
    They have accepted this and upgraded us to the BT option 3 package for the same price, for a year. We now get unlimited GB useage and unlimited phone calls. The internet speed is still between 5-7mb but I think that is a fair result.
    The only thing left to do now is ask for a letter of apology of the manager "Jon" as he tried to belittle me on the phone stating that what I was saying was infact wrong.
    All in all though, its a fair result and thanks again to everyone on here

  • 2 Year Contract Cancellation

    I want to cancel my 2 year contract, but I started it 2 weeks ago for my 2nd line. Can I cancel it and return the phone with paying the the termination fee?

    Only if you have had the phone for less than 14 days. It also depends on where you purchased in regards to how to setup the return. If it is from a store I would simply take it back. If on the phone or internet I would definitely call first and read the order receipt in its entirety that came in package.

  • Contract Cancelled by BT

    After having my BT Infinity installed at my new house on 28th July my contract was abruptly cancelled for some unknown reason by BT on 29th July. My service was actually moved from my previous address, where I experienced no problems. Since the 29th July I have a frustrating merry-go-round of calls and emails from your various departmemts trying to reinstate my services. And to cap it all I was then charged £63.25 for cancelling my contract.  Its been the most exasperating experience of my life.  I work from home and so having no internet access is a massive inconvenience.  Now I have to wait until 15th August to have my broadband reactivated. Utterly pathetic.
