EBS: Posting on account to Customer  through search string

We are attempting an on account posting to the customer account based on the customer name in the bank statement. The configuration looks as follows.
1. Posting rule reflects the setting for posting area 1 and 2. For the second posting area the credit account is blank with posting key 15 and posting type 3
TL04, 1, 40, BANK,                        50, BANK TRANSITORY, SA, 1
TL04, 2, 40, BANK TRANSITORY, 15, (BLANK),                    DZ, 3
2. The search string maps the customer name to customer number
3. The search string use looks as below
BDC Account type = 3
BDC Field name = RF05A-NEWKO
BDC Field Value = Customer number (as mapped to the search string)
4. No interpretation algorithm is used both in search string and in assignment of exterrnal transaction types to posting rules
The second posting to customer cannot be created and it is not able to use the customer number defined n the search string. The value * is passed and goes in error log. Please share your inputs.

  • EBS Auto Subledger posting - Search String

    Hi
    Can any one give some detail on how. EBS - Search string config work.
    requirement is that on customer is paying in a single payment for different invoices.
    all the invoice numbers are quoted in the FINSTA, can we make FINSTA work to automatch all the invoice numbers coming in Bank statement through Search string or in some other way.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Kalyan

    Kalyan,
    For your scenario, the search string configuration won't work. Search string is usually meant to change the assignment of transaction code, cost center, profit center, etc a bit different than the configuration.
    For your situation, you need to make use of user-exits, wherein you can search for open items which can be cleared based on your specified criteria.
    Enhancement FEB00001 available in standard SAP can be made use of for your purposes.

  • Issue With Similar Search Strings in EBS

    Hi Everybody, I'm experiencing some issue regarding a Search String that I have, the config is very similar, the only difference between one and the other is that there's a specific posting rule for one particular account.
    EG: Search String 1: (^)ACCOUNT TRANSFER TRSF TO( |$)
          Search String 2:(^)ACCOUNT TRANSFER TRSF TO 1111111111( |$)
    (Where 1111111111 is the bank account)
    Same Extenral transaction, NTRF, Same house bank and account id. Same Comapny also
    But when executing a Statement with the 1st one it works fine, but when runing the 2nd one it does not use any of them(it takes the Posting rule set for NTRF in the EBS configuration).
    I've tested it in the SS test and it takes the right posting rule.
    If you have any clue on this I'll really appreciate it.
    Regards
    Luciano

  • Bank statement search string for posting rule 2

    Hello,
    I created a search string (also activated) for clearing sub legder account. Folowing are the combinations i tried:
    1) ###(.| )#######
    2) (^| )###(.| )#######( |$)
    3) ###.#######
    Open document reference text on header normally carries  3digits followed by a dot and then seven digits. For example:
    123.1234567.  I also want to include 123 1234567 (sometimes it appears like this in bank statement) but the system should intrepret it as 123.1234567.
    I think above string acheived this when i did a TEST (button) next mapping screen on the same screen.
    I uploaded the bank statement and then went to another config where you do simulation for a bank statement (uploaded). There the system checks for first three digits only and the document found coloumn is blank (because it checks only first three digits and there are too many probable customers in partner's field).
    Posting rule - algorithm is  no 21
    search string - algorithm is no 21
    mapping field in search string - i tried with bland and without blank (###.#######) it is all same.
    How to make the system check 3+7 digits with dot? and why it checking only first three digits. Can some help?

    I got an issue with Duplicated invoices.

    2. the duplicated invoices are not there in the Data base. When we try to check in SE16N VBRK we are getting Document does not exist problem.
    Now the issue is to find out how it is happened and we need to reverse the accounting entries posted to duplicated invoices.
    My Analysis:
    SAP Notes OSS 12934-Duplicated Invoices, 152051. These are not helping
    Could any body help me on this issue.
    Best Regards

    Hi,
    Thanks for Response.
    Critical thing is that the accounting documents exist for those invoices which are not in data base now.
    We can able to see the invoice number in FBL5N but the invoice is not there in SAP data base.
    As Invoices posted to accounting the customer receivables doubled for one delivery and 4 times for other.
    When we try to check form accounting document also but the system throwing error document does not exist.
    Hello Raghu,
    I checked in Short dump no system messages exist.

  • Using Search Strings

    Dears
    We have a scenario where bank is using NTRF both for check and Bank Transfer. Only way to distinguish that it is check is that immediately after External Transaction the check number is of 6 character otherwise it is Bank Transfer. In the EBS configuration with each External Transaction we can assign only one Posting Rule and algorithm.
    We come to know that through search strings we can change the posting rule and algoritham. We went to many answer on net to work on search strings but so far nothing successful. Can someone guide us how to use it.
    Thanks

    Hi Expert,
    Please refer to the below link which will help in configuring Search Strings for your scenario.

  • Search string for 3 digit check number?

    For electronic bank statement,uploading file contains 3-digit check number eg;416
    but in FCHI-Check lots we defined six-digit check numbers.
    so system is not able match the check nos. as they are different, and auto reco is not happening.
    we have gone through search strings documentation but
    we dont know what to enter in search strings configuration.
    Kindly help me what to enter for 3 digit check no?
    Edited by: KUMAR on Dec 2, 2008 1:35 PM

    You'll first need to create search strings to "find" the check numbers in the note to payee information.  Then when you set up the search string use, you'll assign a mapping prefix of "000000" to format the check numbers with the leading zeros so they are 6-digits long.
    To set up the search string, you'll need to look at the note to payee information at the text either before or after the check numbers.  Let's say, for example, that the word "CHECK" always preceeds the check numbers in the note to payee:
    CHECK 456
    or
    CHECK 1234
    Because you have some check numbers coming through the bank statement as 3 digits and some as 4 digits, I'm thinking you'll need to set up two search strings, one with search string value "CHECK ###" and the following mapping:
    C ->
    H ->
    E ->
    C ->
    K ->
       ->
    -> #
    -> #
    -> #
    And the second with search string "CHECK ####" and the following mapping:
    C ->
    H ->
    E ->
    C ->
    K ->
       ->
    -> #
    -> #
    -> #
    -> #
    In the search string use, you assign each search string to the relevant company code, house bank and account ID. You can also leave these fields blank, in which case the search strings will be relevant for all company codes, house banks and accounts IDs.  You'll also need to populate the interpretation algorithm with the same algorithm that you assigned in the Global EBS config for the external transaction for checks.  The target field should be Check-/DME Reference-/Assignment number.  Fill in the mapping prefix with 000000 - and be sure to check the Active indicator.  If you are on ECC 6.0, you will also have fields for external transaction and +- (these fields may also be available in ECC 5.0 - but I know they are not available in 4.7 or prior).  If you see these fields, you can fill them in to further limit when the search string is used - for example, only for Negative transactions or only for Negative transactions with a particular external transaction value.
    Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Regards,
    Shannon

  • EBS posting to clear customer open items - Function not working?

    Hello SAPers
    I have an issue I just canu2019t seem to resolve! We are receiving MT940 statements and receive customer invoice reference details with field: 86 as follows:
    :61:090910C1500,00FOSB1000270 //100909050      0        035315
    :86:DEPOSIT
    Remitter:1000270 MISSION AUSTRALIA   Ref:1200000017
    Immediately following the BTC FOSB the bank quotes the customer number however I am not using this as standard SAP should identify the customer by document number within the note to payee field?
    I am using a 2 step process in posting to the clearing account and customer. Config as follows:
    Pst Type 1
    40     Bank
    50     Clearing
    Pst type 2
    40     Clearing
    15     BLANK          DZ     3      15
    I have also set up a string to look for the documents ^(12########)$. When we load the statement the first posting is successful however the second does not post to the customer or clear based on the invoice reference. I am using algorithm 020. The error that occurs is F5 102 Customer does not exist in company code xxxx. It actually does exist in the company code.
    I have loaded the EBS to the buffer and simulated the search on BELNR and it picks up the document?
    I am sure this is standard and a CMOD is not required on this type of functionality? What have I not done to allow posting to the customer based on document number or to post on account where it is not cleared?
    Any assistance on this issue is appreciated? Thanks in advance.

  • EBS - Posting Area 2 no longer determines Account type & GL account

    Hello all,
    I'm looking for some help/advise on Electronic bank statement processing.  I suspect this has been caused by upgrade to EHP6, but I have not found any notes to help me.
    Relating to inter-company payments.
    We have an issue where posting area 2 is no longer determining the Account symbol & account type based on a search string, which results in error message F5 263 - difference too large for clearing.
    This then means the team have to manually post process these items, where as before this was automatic, obviously they are not happy.
    The search string is still working as I can see the correct internal transaction has been determined when reviewing the item in FEBA that should have posted automatically.
    Prior to the payment coming through on the bank statement the finance team post a DZ customer clearing document with credit entry posted to a sub GL bank account, this document quotes the payment document number in the XBLNR reference field.
    Through debug I have found that POST_INTERFACE_CLEARING is not receiving the GL account or the Account type when it gets to the FB05 screen to search for the related item to clear in the sub GL.
    Anybody else encountered this & found a way to fix it?
    Thank you
    Steve

    Hi Raghav,
    Thanks for the advice, I had found this note during my search but I'm not convinced it is the answer.
    Our search string rule is set to use All interpretation algorithms & I've run the bank statement with the ranges for BELNR & XBLNR specified.  I don't want to have a GL tolerance & posting to an alternative account as that changes the business process & would require a new GL account for this purpose.
    I just want it to behave like it did before EHP6.

  • Using EBS search strings to allocate a customer profit center

    Hi All,
    I am using IHC for my incoming payments. I use substitution for profit centers in customer orders, I would like the EBS to automatically deposit into the customer's account using the same profit center used when creating the customer orders. I have been researching on the use of search string, whoever am failing to see how to set this up.
    Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Godhelp

    Hi Shannon,
    Thanks for your response.  Here are the results of my latest test.
    I set the algorithms in both the transaction mapping and the search string allocation to "021".  FEBSTS did not find the imbedded reference numbers.
    I left the algorithms in the transaction mapping at "021", but added "000" to the search string allocation (so that both "000" and "021" were active there).  FEBSTS did execute the search strings and returned the reference numbers.
    Unless there is some magic somewhere or I am really misunderstanding something, all of my tests are telling me that the simulation (and presumably the live program) will NOT execute the search strings properly unless "000" is active in the search string functionality, and that means the document retrieval must be done in the user exit.
    This may be part of why SAP recommends that one does not use MT940, but one must deal with what one has.

  • Failing Search String in EBS through IDOC

    Dear All,
    we upload our EBS through idoc processing of type finsta. The problem is that for a particular bank theres a search string attached which will replace the posting rule if a certain but fix narration (say "Trf 66852")  is received in note to payee field apart from the fixed external transaction code. The problem is that, in the idoc segment, though i am putting the same fixed narration as Trf66852 however the posting rule is not replacing. I am not able to determine even if the search string is working. I tried checking in EBSTS but apart from two blank lines nothing much is appearing. If anyone ever come across this issue pls share your experience.
    best regds
    Subha

    Hi Subha,
    The Notes to payee updates from FINSTA IDoc should work.
    1. If you want to know if the configured search string is working or not, you can simulate it in OTPM, where the  search strings are defined in the search string definition > Simulation. You need to entry the text from bank in Simulation and click on test.
    2. Secondly, you can check in table FEBRE where the notes to Payee fields are updated.

  • How to get the SharePoint user context available in custom federated search connector?

    Hi,
    I'm investigating the possibilities for developing a federated search connector for SharePoint 2013 Online. This should allow us to search a customer's database through our custom developed application (both on premise). We intend to develop
    an remote federated search connector (using OpenSearch protocol) and configure a result source in SharePoint for that connector.
    The problem I'm struggling with is that I want different search results from this ressult source based on the permissions of the user that is executing the search. The admin should find a lot because he has permissions on certain items in the custom
    application. The employee should find just a few because he has no permissions on certain items in the custom application. We developed the custom application ourselveds and the search in that application is taking permissions into account: it doesn't
    return results if a user doesn't have sufficient permissions. That part works just fine.
    However, to be able to use that, the remote federated search connector must be able to identify the user that is executing the search in SharePoint Online. So: how do I get the SharePoint user context in the remote federated search connector?
    I know I can configure the replacement token {User.Name} in the result source configuration, but that gives me the name of the user only. This is insufficient to get an identity, principal, token or whatever, that let's me log in into our custom
    application.
    I also know that in a provider hosted app, user context is passed through from SharePoint and is known within the remote app. But since result sources need fixed (or anonymous) credentials configuration for connecting to the remote federated search connector,
    all users will be using the same credentials. This makes me assume these credentials are for securing communication and cannot be used within the execution of the search within the remote federated search connector.
    At the moment, I'm stuck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Ruud.

    Hi,
    Per my knowledge, we cannot get the SharePoint user context available in custom federated search connector with other methods.

  • Electronic Bank Statement Search Strings Customer Item Clearing

    I have configured EBS and I am trying to clear open items from customer accounts using Search Strings.
    I have mapped the customer account on the bank statement to the SAP customer account. For example, Victor Osagie is mapped to account 1400036.
    When I process transactions with exactly the same note to payee as above, open items in the customer account clear. However, when the note to payee field changes for example to Victor Osagie 110000000. The customer is recognised but the item is not cleared from the customer account.
    The statement format is BAI and we are using the BAI processor.
    How can I manipulate the search strings to allow the clearing of items like this?
