Eclipse Confusion: Different project types

I have a JSP project that I'm working on in Eclipse. It's such a pain because I need different project functionality like JSP, JSF, JBossIDE, etc...the problem is that each functionality is part of a different project type.
i.e. When you select File -> New -> Project, there are different project types. Any project can only have one type (or can it?). So if I need multiple functionality within a project, how do I make this happen?
Obviously you wouldn't limit yourself to just one functionality because of the IDE's limitation...
Is it possible to combine multiple projects into one complete project? This seems like such a disgusting and difficult solution...files split apart into different projects just because one uses JSP and another uses JSF and another uses EJB...
How do you deal with this?

Is that possible?
If no,what else solutions can I have for choice to achieve the goal.
Can make against the reservation and do goods movement into different accounting subject.

    Hi anji,
    Good answer,
    GAP ANALYSIS:
The gap analysis is the analysis on what the differences between actual system are and what the customer want to develop.
A through gap analysis will identify the gaps between how the business operates ad its needs against what the package can can't do. For each gap there will be one of three outcomes which must be recorded and auctioned, GAP must be closed and customized software can be developed close the gap, GAP must be closed but software cannot be written therefore a workaround is required, GAP does not need to be closed.
In simple terms: Gap means small cracks. In SAP world. In information technology, gap analysis is the study of the differences between two different information systems or applications( ex; existing system or legacy system with Client and new is SAP), often for the purpose of determining how to get from one state to a new state. A gap is sometimes spoken of as "the space between where we are and where we want to be." Gap analysis is undertaken as a means of bridging that space.
Actual gap analysis is time consuming and it plays vital role in blue print stage.
While implementing the SAP to one company they use ASAP Methodologies to implement it has 5 steps .
    1: project preparation .
    2: Business blue Print .
    3: Realization .
    4: Final preparation .
    5: Golive .
in Business blue print they give AS IS and TOBE that means what are the different requirements are to be made to reach the customer requirement that is called Gap analysys

  • Dynamic link confusing two separate AE compositions in PPro from different projects

I am using CS5 Master Collection for Windows 7 (64 bit) on an HP Pro desktop (Intel core 2 duo, 6Gb RAM). The tower has two hard drives installed (no RAID). CS5 is installed on the original C drive along with the OS, but the working files, footage etc are all on the larger, secondary F drive.
I am working on a DVD project consisting of several seperate PPro projects. Each project has been colour corrected in AE using dynamic linking. Recently two of my projects suddenly became mixed up, by which I mean the video (not the audio) from one AE composition in one project has taken the place of another in another project. The clip remains the same length, but the link apears to be referencing the wrong clip during playback. Interestingly, there are two clips on the track above the affected clip that fade out and in at either end, during the dissolves between clips, the correct footage plays. It is only when the clip plays by itself that the problem occurs. The next clip also has the same error, though the problem only occurs for half the clip and then suddenly corrects itself. Just to be clear, All clips have been rendered, there are no more than two video tracks on the sequence, and I have tried replacing the composition from the asset menu (in which the clip plays back correctly), but the problem remains in the sequence.
I hope that descrition is clear enough. My guess is some kind of file path error in the dynamic link, perhaps due to the separate hard drive. But I really wouldn't know. I'm very pressed for time right now and I'd prefer not to go against workflow and re-edit a new composition in AE, I would also like to understand what is going on in case it happens again.
Any help with ths problem would be appreciated,
    J

Thanks Colin, I tried what you suggested with both the AE Project that it should be referencing and the AE project it is erroneously referencing but both failed to fix the issue. Its as if a hidden clip were laid over the top of the one I want to play. Frustrating.

It's not the comps that are the problem; it's the project file names themselves. You can have all the comps in a project named the same thing, and it'll be fine, but naming projects incrementally is an issue. After Effects includes a versioning function (Save and Increment) that will create a new AE project file with a serial number, e.g. AE Project 01, AE Project 02, etc. This is all well and good if you're just working in After Effects, but Dynamic Link gets confused and will usually start looking at the later project file for comps. That will just create a big mess, as you've found. Changing the names of the project files won't help things relink automatically properly, but it can help you fix things. Make all your DL AE comps offline in your Pr projects, and name your AE projects in a manner that is not serial (give them more random names). Select your offline AE comps, and right-click > Link Media, and point to the new AE project. Things should link up correctly then--but if they don't, you'll just have to remove all the AE comps from your Pr project, reimport the comps from the newly-named AE project, and replace them. It's a pain but it'll probably just keep getting worse if you don't.

  • Resp Person Tab is not coming in CJ20N for a particular project type

    Hi All,
I am unaware of the standard SAP screen in CJ20N but we have a screen in CJ20n wherein we can assign a person / link a person this particular tab is not coming at all for a particular project type (Resp Person) rather a different tab (cust enhancement) is coming but our problem is we have a mass program which works on BDC and hence if the required screens are not there it fails.
Can someone please tell me if there is come config i can check/ maintain for this resp person tab so that it starts coming for all project types.
    Regards
    Anmol Pareek

    Hey Sarang,
Thanks a lot, it was helpful, one more thing though, In Resp Persons tab there is something called Link Employees and my problem is that i have a mass linking program (using BDC) which cannot work if i dont see that screen in my BDC (without changing BDC). The way you have told is in OPUK/ OPUJ check for proj type and see if person responsible is hidden or not. I dont think that is what i am asking because no matter what this person responsible is hidden, but for certain project types Resp Person tab itself is not coming and that is the problem.

  • Retrieve all values from project type when project type combo box is null

    Hi,
We are facing a tight situation here. We have a scenario where we have 2 filter options.
    1) Department ID
    2) Project type
When department ID is selected all the department IDs should be populated in the combo box and the project type combo box should be empty.
Similarly, when project type is selected all the project types should be populated in the combo box and the department ID combo box should be empty.
Then, when more than one value is selected from department ID box and all the values from project type must be retrieved from query level (as per business logic).
How do we do this? Kindly help us with this situation.

    Basically my situation slightly different.
I am trying to do a bulk insert on SQL Server table using prepared statement, during that time i am getting the exception. I am using JDBC-ODBC driver. However, if i do individual record insertion, it is working.
Any idea about this type of problem ?

  • When to use what project type?

    Hi,
I am kind of baffled by the use of Flash Project in Flash Builder 4.
Flex Project is for build RIA\Flex applications with a design view available for creating the GUI.
ActionScript projects allow you to program\debug AS3 code and only when you run the application you get a visual feedback.
    1) But when will I want to use Flash Projects?
The reason I am asking is that I have a project that currently works by running a main swf file that in turn loads additional swf files (Sorry I can't show you a demo), switching the loaded swf every 30 seconds.
I am leaning to use a Flash Project to manage my project. On the other hand, I could move the entire project to Flex and implement the different swfs as different states of the GUI.
    2) What do you think?
Thanks for your help and feedbacks.

You can start reviewing this topic from here
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flashbuilder/using/WS6f97d7caa66ef6eb1e63e3d11b6c4d0d21-7ffb.h tml#WSbde04e3d3e6474c4-63107a8b12642da83ed-8000
I would also want to add some details about my project that cause me to ponder on what project type to use.
    1) My project involves multiple flash\swf files that are loaded during work. I need to manage their creation.
    2) All my swfs are loaded as part of a single application that runs in the backgrounds and loads each swf to display different information.
3)I have many as3 files that I use and would also like to manage them properly.
    4) I would have liked to manage the project under a cvs project, like you can do with Java, so I don't have to do manual backups.
    Any ideas?

  • Requisition has different doc. type NB and item cat

    hi all,
i got one PR from project system account assignment category N  item category standard
but i am converting that pr to subcontracting PO  i am getting following error" _Requisition has different doc. type NB and item cat"_

Hi, I came across an alternative solution to do subcontracting with project stock. From the online documentation:
Subcontracting for Sales Order Stock and Project Stock
    Purpose
Subcontracting is also possible in conjunction with sales order stocks and project stocks. The subcontracting orders are account-assigned to a sales order or a WBS element. Thus, the components are not transferred (using a transfer posting) to the "stock of material provided to vendor" but are directly withdrawn from the sales order stock or the project stock at the time of the goods receipt. The material manufactured is also posted to the sales order stock or to the project stock. The cost of subcontracting is then debited to the sales order or WBS element.
Since the components are not transferred to the "stock of material provided to vendor", we recommend that you use a transfer posting to transfer the provided components to a new storage location (for example, 9999). This enables you to obtain an overview of those stocks that are physically located at the subcontractor. This information is particularly important when you carry out a physical inventory of the sales order stocks and project stocks.
    Features
Withdrawal from Stock of Mat. Provided or Sales Order/Project Stock
For components that are managed in sales order stock or project stock, you can define whether the components are to be withdrawn directly from each sales order/project stock or from the stock of material provided to vendor. You manage this via the dependent requirements indicator for individual customer requirements and collective requirements (MARC-SBDKZ).
You can maintain this indicator in the following places:
in the MRP view of the material master record (MRP 4)
in the explosion types for the BOM item (in Customizing for Production in the step Basic Data -> Bill of Material -> Item Data -> Define explosion types)
Configuring the explosion types has priority over the configuration in Inventory Management.
If the indicator is set at Collective requirements only (2), the materials are withdrawn from the stock of material provided to vendor. If this indicator is set any other way, the system withdraws materials from sales order stock or project stock

    Mario

  • Custom Project types

    Hi All,
Is there anyway to define a custom project type( like implementation, upgrade...) through configuration or BADI.
and what shud we follow to link it to a number range for the maintenance cycle and link this to a subject which will automatically fetch the maintenace cycle of the custom project type.
kindly give your inputs in this.
Also there is one more doubt,
in enterprise edition we were able to link the change request to business processes.... is there any BADI or EXIT or through configuration we can automatically update the transport request for the changes done corresponding to the business process.
    kindly share your inputs
    Thanks and Regards,
    Subhashini.

I don't think you can filter project types on stock CDT New Project Wizard. But you can create (inherit) your own wizard which filters project types, that would be much easier.
For that, use extension point org.eclipse.ui.newWizards and subclass CDTCommonProjectWizard.

  • Different calculation types for one condition

    Dear all,
I'm trying to find out, if it's possible to have a condition (in our case freight condition ZKOP) set up with two different calculation types?
Definition of how it should be:
    - If the order value is below a specific amout, ZKOP is xxx.xx EUR.
    - If the order value is above a specific amount, ZKOP should be calculated as a percentage base of the order value.
Please can you let me know if it's possible and how?
    Thanks in advance.

If the coding is not written correctly, it would definitely affect the system performance.  This is not only for user exit but also will be applicable to routines.  So it makes no difference.
And is not difficult to get an access key to do this development
Not in all cases.  In some projects, getting an Access Key itself is very difficult and it undergoes cumbersome process from client side.  So we have to take a decision on case to case basis whether to go with routine or user exit.

  • Importing confusion re projects

I know this has been discussed, but I remain confused about a basic import question. I know I'm required to import into a project (don't like this, but I understand this is the structure). So I created a project titled "Imports". I know I can then move pics to any album or other project.
However, for many pics, I really don't need them in a specific project, just in my library (perhaps in an album as well that resides in that library). Is my only choice to keep the masters either 1) in that original "Imports" project or 2) to move the master to a different project? Moving to a different project, when I really don't need the pic to be in a project, just leads to the creation of additional unwanted projects.
I feel like I'm missing something basic here, but I guess if I need to, I can just keep "growing" a huge "Imports" project to hold pics that don't belong elsewhere. Thanks!
    13" Macbook; 2gb RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    13" Macbook; 2gb RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Thanks much for the quick responses. I've read the bagelturf info, and although feeling rather dense at the moment, remain confused. I still remain with my original questions. If I try to organize all imported pics by placing them in brown folders (beneath the "Import" project), that doesn't work (a new brown folder doesn't seem to accept pics from the project above it).
So again, the question is how to organize pics once imported into the "imports" project (I realize if it makes sense to import into already existing projects, that's easy). Assuming pics don't really need to be in any other project, does it make sense to just leave them in the "Imports" project? It would seem that would just grow and grow (and yes, I could make an "Imports 2" project so it doesn't get too large, but this just doesn't feel right).
On a very related to note, my initial venture into Aperture was importing my iphoto library (simply using the "Import iphot" command. Doing that, I ended up with my "Library", under which was a blue folder (eg, Vacations), under which were albums (eg., Bryce Canyon). Project did not even seem to appear.... so if everything HAS to be in a project, what project are those pics in?
Sorry to be dense here, but this does seem more confusing than it needs to be!

  • Different File Types to Import - To Conver or not to convert?

I have a project that I am dealing with which is requiring several different file types. Mainly .avi exported from VEGAS and footage ripped from a DVD.
I have heard that it is best to use MPEG Streamclip to convert everything to a DVPro format (I am outputting in SD for broadcast) but wouldn't that just cause more compression?
What is the best way to handle multiple file formats and the best output settings for broadcast when dealing with multiple formats? Thanks!

The Avi's might work OK as they are, but the DVD footage has to go through MPEG streamclip. You might have to do this with the Avi's too, but not always... depends on the codec that was used to capture them in Vegas.
Might try putting the AVI's in Compressor for the conversion if need be, as it might look a bit better in the end. But you've no choice with the files ripped from the DVD.

  • Calling Sub Report which is in Different project

    Hi All,
Can we Call sub Report which is in different project? If so, How? Can you please help me out.
    Thanks
    sush

    Hi susheel1347,
In Reporting Services, when we call a sub report, in the Subreport Properties, we can only select the report in current project (from the drop down list) as a subreport. If we type a report which is in another project, this report can't be found
and it will return the message like below:
So your requirement can't be achieved currently, we suggest you copy that subreport into current project.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
    Best Regards,

CAPS 6 is the company standard for integrating applications so I'm looking to get started converting XML from one format to another.
Which project type is best to use for this scenario?

As John suggested you should properly post this question in an Visual Studio forum:

Visual C++, C#, VB.Net are all running on the DOT.NET enviroment and are different languages that have no difference in functionality.
C and C++ does not run on the DOT.NET platform, but directly on the CPU.
C# does also deals with processes and threads, and you can load DLL's at runtime/compile time if you want.
    C# also have console applications.

  • Changing project types

    Hi,
When building a new Flex project, in the wizard you can
    specify the project type.
I was wondering, is it possible to change this in the same
    project afterwards?
    Thanks

I don't think you can change the project type. You can modify
other setting by going to the project properties.
As a work around - you can delete the project (don't delete
the sources) . And recreate the project with different type using
    the existing sources.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav
