Edit web address to a one word Hyperlink

Making an old fashion chocolate malt is maybe easier...
But all I want from hours and hours of searching all threads is how to Edit a web address link.
I have fried all remaining brain cells on how to even begin to word it politically correct.
Lets just take this pages address for example:
http://discussions.apple.com/post!default.jspa?forumID=876
Now I want to link to it with a simple one word hyperlink: 'NEWS'
I'll describe what I tried countless times and get opposite results.
I pulled up text edit.
Pasted the address I want to go to.
Control/L- Click to make it a Link.
Control/L-Click to Edit Link.
Drop Down Box appears with Address I want to go to.
I give up from here-- As all efforts to insert one word ( news ) in that box
in an attempt to make the one word 'NEWS' be the new hyperlink address.
Logic has escaped the room.
The thing is I never give up,, but now need therapy read bad.
It's similar to the last circuit card pulled from HAL's Memory, with slurred speech.

You can use old-fashioned HTML:

Editing web addresses in Simple Pass

For some reason, Simple Pass has incorrectly stored one of my web addresses in its database. I can see that the web address that it displays when I want to access that site (via Simple Pass) has too many "w"s following the http login protocol. If I manually type in the correct address and browse to the site, I cannot bring up Simple Pass because it has already stored that site, albeit incorrectly. How can I edit the address that it has incorrectly stored? Also, the splash screen for Simple Pass has a tendency to hang up if I try to open Simple Pass by itself. (I have already performed a BIOS upgrade on this system through the HP Assistant right after I purchased it so I don't think that's the problem).

It is possible that Splash is responding to something other than an internal corruption.
Continuing with the "easy" fixes:
Reset your notebook:
Notebooks- Forced Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues- Sealed Non-Removable Battery
Notebooks - Use Hard Reset to Resolve Hardware and Software Issues - Removable Battery
Boot up the system and check -- can you run Splash?

This is a little far-fetched, but still within the realm of possible issues because Splash does require the input of your fingerprint to validate the database access as soon as the program starts:
Try reinstalling your current Validity Sensor Driver:
Control Panel > icon view > Device Manager > Biometric Devices > Validity Sensor >>
Right-Click on the Validity Sensor driver and "Uninstall" (do NOT delete it)
Restart / Reboot the computer and log in
The driver will resinstall itself as you log in

The next bits you can do now, or, if needed, you can do later; it is up to you. The point here is that there may be something that is interfering with the Splash program. The key is "may be". Yours is an unusual problem, so there is no guarantee that there is any use in poking around at the rest of what the system is doing -- it may be a dead end.
Rogue Programs and Program Hogs:
You can run the Resource Monitor - and leave it running when you bring up the Splash program. See if you notice anything unusual. How will you tell? Not sure, but the Splash may "spike" or hang, or grab 100% of the CPU resource and not really die after the screen disappears... or another program may be running at 100% of CPU and not let the Splash program get enough resource to start properly. Understanding the Resource Monitor is as much art as it is science; it is facinating to those of us who breathe this stuff and it is a convoluted, dismayingly complicated mess to a lot of other people.
Errors and Trouble Spots:
If you think the Resource Monitor is bad, wait until you see the Event Viewer. Hint: If you do not find Splash, then iou might be best served by using the Event "find" tool to search for "simplepass".
Troublesome Companions:
In Windows 8, the Startup programs - that is, those programs that start when the systems boots are easiy accessed from the Task Manager. This is one of the nicer features of Windows 8, in my opinion, and it centralizes much of what the computer is doing, or will do, at a given time. You can restrict the programs that start when the system boots in an attempt to find out if "something" is getting in the way of SimplePass Splash.

You may or may not have the Latest SimplePass. It is possible the version has upgraded since your machine was manufactured and shipped to you.

You do need to run the Validity Sensor Driver for your system:

Select your OS
Drop to Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices
Select the Validity Sensor Driver - if it is newer than the one you have in your Device Manager > Biometric Devices, download and install it.

Be Aware: If you get to this point, you are looking at losing your webcard passwords...
Rules for Success:
Driver ALWAYS installs First, then a reboot
Software installs Second, set up the basics (enroll fingers - at least three), and another reboot
Back up the webcard database
Remove the existing SimplePass softwre with the following:
Fixit -- Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled
Download the latest SimplePass installation package to your notebook; pay attention to where it lands.
Reinstall the Driver
Reboot the computer and log in
Install the Software, set up the basic enrollment, Reboot
Make a backup of your webcards
Export the Webcard Database:
When you have working SimplePass software, Export your Webcards. In the event that you must remove the SimplePass software, your webcard backup can be used (imported) to restore your website login information.
Start SimplePass > Settings > Export NOTE: File will be named *.tsd

Is Spotlights ability to search web content limited to one word searches?

I have my website setup and Spotlight enabled.
I have several thousand pdf documents indexed and would like to be able to search them by "Content" "Contains or equals".
The problem is, that when I search using 2 words that I know are contained in several documents, the results returned are 0, yet searching with 1 word yields plenty of results, I really need to be able to narrow my results down by being able to search for more than 1 word at a time.

This is normal, because some environments have servers with names like intranet. When your DNS returns a plain 404, Firefox then sends the word to your preferred search engine. But if the DNS service sends back its own results page, that preempts the normal behavior.
Perhaps there is an add-on to work around this? I do not recall seeing one, but you can search here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/
For many years the address bar search was called the keyword service, so in addition to other queries, you might search for add-ons related to keywords.

Converting Word to PDF-don't link web addresses

I'm trying to convert a word doc to a pdf using Acrobat XI Standard. The word doc has a hyperlink in one spot and a web address typed out in another spot. The goal I'm looking for is to have the hyperlink carry over into the pdf, and the typed out web address to be non-clickable. The hyperlink does carry over, but the typed out web address is also hyperlinking, but without the hyperlink box. How do I get the pdf to not link the typed out web address? There is no hyperlink box to delete.

That's a setting of the application. You can disable it under Edit - Preferences - General - Create links from URLs.

Can't edit email address

If I forward an email, or reply to all I can't edit the address. If one is incorrect and the email bounces there seems to be no way to edit the address. Am I missing something obvious?

Not quite. I just want to correct an incorrect email address. I had multiple addresses separated with commas but left out one comma. The two addresses were read as one incorrect address and I wanted to simply resend the message but could not add the missing comma.

You are trying to copy a link, it is most likely in a different color such as the words "Microsoft's own forums" in his post. In Word highlight the word or words, control click on them, select Hyperlink, then Edit Hyperlink, then delete the link from the top box. It will then have a button asking if you want to "Remove Link", click on it.

Won't google search when one word is written in address bar.

Previously when I typed one word or more in the address bar, it would do a google search. Now when I enter one word and press enter it takes me to a while page with the following message on it:
502 Bad Gateway
nginx/1.3.7
It does the google search when I type more than one word.

To summarize:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''keyword''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Right-click '''keyword.URL''' and choose Reset. Then test again in the other tab.

Edit Internal Address option system will only hold one Ship to Address loca

When trying to add an new address using Edit Internal Address option system will only hold one Ship to Address location. Each time a new one is added it simply over-writes the existing address instead of creating a second address. Attached screenshots show steps taken and results. Problem is also occurring in SRQ, unsure when this started as we do not use this functionality on a daily basis.

For one location you can maintain more than one address using Edit Internal addresses in SRM web application (SAP_BBP_STAL_ADMINISTRATOR role).
Select Edit Internal addresses --> Select your business partner --> Push create button --> Maintain the address and save. A new address number will be generated.
Maintained addresses will be visible in search help for the requester. One of them can be set as default in PPOMA_BBP attributes.

Clickable Hyperlink for Web Address Link in e-mail

It turns out that you CAN put a clickable hyper link into an e-mail message. Starting from a message (you are not on the web page) go to the relevant web page and select the entire addresss including http and pull that into the clipboard.
On the text of the message body, select Edit and Add Hyperlink from the top menu bar. You will get a dialogue box that asks for the web address. Paste the web address there and Enter. Maybe V 10.5 might be more straight forward?
From the actual web page, Hold down the Apple and Shift keys at the same time and press i. It starts a new blank e-mail message and the web address appears as a blue highlited Hyperlink.
Tech Support showed me No. 1 above.

Generally speaking, the term hyperlink is used for click HERE using HERE for the hidden URL address or link instead of just providing the URL address or link - http://www.apple.com/
As Michael provided, a URL address only or link which requires including http:// does not become active with a Mail.app message until the sending process. When including a URL address only, check the copy of the Sent message. The link will be active.
Hyperlinks in a Mail.app message are active before the message is sent.

Is there a way to add a Hyperlink to ONE WORD in a large group of text?

I am a beginner with adobe muse but I can't seem to find a way to make one word in a group of text a hyperlink. Do I have to make a separate text box then make that a hyperlink? If you're not able to make a single word a hyperlink, you must be selecting the text frame and applying the hyperlink to that. To make a single word hyperlink, click repeatedly on the text frame till you see "Text" in the selection indicator towards the top left of your screen in Muse and are able to select the particular text that you wish to hyperlink. Doing this shouldn't cause the link to change position when exported, you may still want to check if there is a "Link Style" applied to the hyperlink that is causing issues.

I have a paragraph of text coming from the database as a CLOB, and I need to add a hyperlink to one word in the paragraph. I have done this for an entire field, but not one word inside the paragraph. Any ideas on how to do this?
The output file is a PDF. The version of Oracle Reports is 10g.

Without modifying the Table Interface I solved my problem.
Earlier I mentioned that the exceptions were not highlighting when created in BEx. the reason is I gave negative % range -10 to -1000.
But when I changed that range as -1000 to -10, It worked fine. I created the same exceptions for all the 7 queries in BEx. So all those execeptions are automatically highlighted the result in Portal.

How do I save a a web address in more than one bookmark folder?

I often want to store the address of a web address in more than one bookmark folder. Sometimes I know this when I first decide to save the address; other times I find I want to 'copy' an already stored bookmark in a second folder. I've struggled through the Firefox Help on bookmarks to uncover how to accomplish this -- but (as with so many online computer Help sections!) have been unable to find an answer to what is, obviously, a basic question!

You can copy a bookmark from one folder and paste it in another folder to have a copy in more than one folder.

Please hyperlink "For More Information" web addresses.

The "For more information about this update..." web addresses provided at the bottom of product update descriptions are not hyperlinked (see attached). This strikes me as an odd omission and is an annoyance for geeks like me that want to check out the gory details of updates. Seems easy to fix, no?

I would try another cable just in case that is the case of the hotness. However, I suspect a hardware problem with the iPod.
I would contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Unless your iPod is abused, it is covered by the universal Apple 1 year warranty.
