Editing online

Hi,
I have seen a similar question, but I am not sure if that's the answer I was looking for.
We have purchased a subscription online and the person who purchased it said they read something about being able to edit PDFs that have been uploaded onto the cloud.
Is this even possible?
I have tried it myself and there was no editing tools online via adobe to be able to edit the files online.
Let me know,
Cheers

No, it's not, as far as I know. You will need to install Acrobat on your
computer if you want to edit PDF files.

I understand that it is related to the Unicode type of the file. In this case, how do I fix the problem and allow the file to be able to edit online or locally?
    Thanks,
    Kent

HTML from word and other code generators doesn't work fine with online HTML editor.
Only HTML files created using the Online HTML editor will work fine.
    Check help documentation http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e6/62f8cb7afd764e9600360257202bc1/content.htm
"You can use the HTML editor to create or change texts with simple formatting online. This is a ‘what you see is what you get’ editor."
You have to used edit locally in your case.

  • How to implement KM Edit Online feature?

    Hello,
I am creating a web dynpro component that will integrate to KM.  I would like to have the WD application launch the Edit Online context menu feature on a HTML file stored in KM.  I bascially would like to have the user edit the HTML file with no knowledge they entered KM.  Can someone point me in the right direction on how to trigger the Edit Online option?
I have posted this also in the KM forum.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
timestamp is a date and thus cannot be used directly to determine seconds passed. So what you need to do is to build the difference between a saved time stamp and the current time.
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.4.2/docs/api/java/sql/Timestamp.html
So if you have two time stamps, then calling getTime() on each and building the difference gives you a value, which is millisecond. So to get this to an int value you divide it by 1000

  • How to call Portal KM "Edit Online" function from component?

I need to call standard portal "Edit Online" operation from my portal component for some file inside KM "/documents" directory. How can i do it?

Figured it out.  I need to add a reference to the button that will be calling this function outside of the movieClip from INSIDE of it.
    var manualButton:DisplayObject = MovieClip(parent.parent.parent).manualButton;
    manualButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onpauseButton);
was added to movieClip that has the function and the "manualButton" is the name of the button on the outside of the movieClip that will be calling it.
    Thanks anyways!

    Hi Stevan,
I bascially would like to have the user edit the HTML file with no knowledge they entered KM.
What does this mean? Where will the user get the link to edit the HTML file?
Will they get it in an email? as in some notification?
Or they will have a Edit command on the context menu of the resource in KM?
in this case u can create a custom KM Command and there u can call ur application and open
    up the edit view.
Give more details on ur req,
Check this Command: Link to KM folder - does it exsist/workaround

  • How do I set up a page that a user can edit online?

I am setting up a simple website for a restaurant moxibistro.com. The client has asked me to set up a page for her "Weekly Special" She wants to be able to edit this page once a week with a different special. She doesn't have a mac so I'm thinking there has to be an online service that she could use for this page. Is there something that I could just embed the HTML of that page into iWeb and it will update as she changes it.
I was thinking maybe she could use sites.google.com but I don't know if I could embed the page contents into my site or how I would make the theme look consistent.
    Any ideas?

Basically, if your client does not have a Mac then don't use iWeb to create the site. iWeb is Mac only and if a client wishes to make alterations, then they need the domain file.
If your client needs to update on a weekly basis, then why not consider using one of the online website creation packages where you can log in from any Mac or PC. This would be simpler and there are lots out there - Microsoft Office Live or Google or something like http://www.wix.com where you can create a site and use a domain name with it.
Look at the alternatives before using iWeb.

  • Editing online interactive forms using Acrobat XI Pro

Our organization recently purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro in hopes of using it to create and convert many of our forms to electronic format.  We recently tried opening an existing online interactive form to edit it and it says "This form cannot be edited in Acrobat.  Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to edit this form".  Did we purchase the wrong product for what we are trying to do?  I'm in panic mode because we are very new to this type of editing and I hope we didn't purchase the wrong thing.  Any suggestions?

There are two kinds of PDF forms: Acrobat forms and LiveCycle Designer
forms. The latter are actually XML files and can only be edited in
LiveCycle Designer, which used to be bundled with Acrobat Pro but is not
any more. If your forms were created in LCD then you need to purchase that
application as well if you want to edit them.

  • Repository cannot be edited online

    Hi,
Suddenly I'm unable to edit the OBIEE repository online. I get the message "The repository 'AnalyticsWeb' can only be opened as Read-Only. Do you want to open it?" once I try to open it online.
I've restarted the presentation server and the BI server. I still get the message though. Any idea how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I found the solution myself. The rights of the repository file weren't set correctly. Only the owner of the file (biadmin) was able to change the rights of the file . Apparantly another user called amemco tries to read the file when I open it online - but amemco was able to read it due lack of rights.
Anyway, giving amemco the right to read the file got me rid of the error.

  • Edit Online Text File In App?

    Hi Community,
I'm trying to create an ApplescriptObjC application that will essentially act as google docs and will create an interface for me to edit an online text file from anywhere I go with the application. The point of the app is so that I don't have to use ftp to download the file, read it, edit it, and then reupload. Instead, I want to bypass ftp altogether and work solely in the cloud. Is this possible? And if so, how would I go about it? Thanks,
    ~Josh

There are just too many ways to do this - where to begin?
The simplest and most obvious option is WebDAV - enable it in your apache server and you can mount directories on your desktop, create/edit files and they're saved back to your server.
Your'e somewhat vague in your description, though, to know whether that's sufficient. You haven't covered access controls, security, and a myriad of other considerations.
Not least is the purpose of the file, and why just putting it on Google Docs doesn't suffice.

  • Problem in Online Editing

    Hi Team,
I have created one html file in the local system and uploaded in to KM. And i tried editing the file online, but i got the below error.
    System Error
An Exception Occurred during the program Execution.
    Go back and try again.
But in my view there two possibilities this error could have occurred.
    1) file is created in the local system, and uploaded to portal
    2) That html file is not properly created with html tags ( But it opens when i open the html file in IE).
so, i found one document in help.sap.com (You can only use the HTML editor to edit HTML files that you created online. If you edit an HTML file locally, you will not be able to edit it with the HTML editor later on(From help.sap.com - http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e6/62f8cb7afd764e9600360257202bc1/frameset.htm )
But, after i created the file using HTML Editor in portal, if i try to edit the document locally, then i saved it, after i opens the same document in Online Editing it works fine.
Can any one help, what exactly the problem in editing online and how we can overcome this issue.
    Thanks
    Best Regards,
    Manoj K

    Hello Manoj,
I tried the same process of creating file at local system and uploading it in KM documents. When I tried editing that file, I didnt get the error, instead I got the following message.
This HTML file can contain HTML features that the HTML Editor does not support. You may consider editing the source using the Text Editor instead in order to avoid unintended changes that the HTML Editor might cause.
and below the message there were two buttons, HTML editor and Text editor, for editing the document.
It might be because the HTML document created locally are not supported by HTML editor.
you can also check the following link for Mimetype supported in online editing at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a6/181b09bcc7fe4389c8c17d2ad849cc/content.htm
Hope this information is of some use.
PS: HTML file was created using notepad and saved as "test.html".

  • Unable to edit an ASP file in KM content

I have a colleague working on a customer portal where some ASP files were created and stored in the KM content.  The customer is requesting to edit the content of one ASP file (basically, remove one section).  However, when viewing the file in KM content, there is no option to edit it.  This issue happens only to one specific ASP file, while all the other ASP files in the KM content are editable.
According to a previous developer (who has since left the project), the ASP file is a wrapped XLM file.
Hoping to get some help on this issue.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi, Charisse Basilio!
You need to add "text/asp" MIME type to the list of the Online editing types.
    Try to do following:
    1. Find a list of MIME types, see: Content Management - Utilities - Editing - Online Editing.
    2. Add after comma this string:  text/asp. For example:
                   Supported Mime Types for editing: text/plain, text/html, text/xml, text/asp
    3. Save your changes.
    Also, see this [article|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/a6/181b09bcc7fe4389c8c17d2ad849cc/frameset.htm]
    Hope it helps. Mikhail.

  • How to edit and save pdf inside a website

I have multiple users i.e. 200 users on my website and I want to have an editable pdf, which I want each user to edit online and save the information. I can access and edit pdf online in website but it doesn't save the information what user enters. What all I need to do to save the information, user enters? Also, do I need to setup separate pdf for each user, I think yes but how can I setup pdf for each user?

"Edit" how, exactly? Unless you're all working via SharePoint (or something
similar) what you're describing is not going to work.
