EhP4-Upgrade: error in phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG

Hi!
I try to execute a EHP4 upgrade for SAP ECC system with EhP Installer.
The programm stopps after several repeat attempts in the the phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG.
The error I get is:

Using phase log file 'KX_CPYORG.LOG'.
Kernel is replicated from D:\usr\sap\GE6\SYS\exe\nuc\NTAMD64.

How can I solve this problem?

Hi
Don't know if it is still relevant (or even the same issue) but I had a similar problem with a file ##f not found directly after a mention of "reading dbclient.lst" in the log, and I fixed it by opening dbclient.lst in notepad and saving it again as ANSI. The original was Unicode and I noticed some other .lst file was ANSI. Hope this helps.

Iam in the process of installing EHP-4, i am unable to find the dowload locations for EHP-4.
Can anyone help me in downloading these packages for ECC6.0. Currently i dont have Solution Manager 7.0 to download these packages from Maintenance Optimizer.

The problem here is its an unicode System - ever was! and there is no path D:\usr\sap\BIL\SYS\exe\ nuc \NTAMD64 but a D:\usr\sap\BIL\SYS\exe\ uc \NTAMD64
The Systems' profile parameter OS_UNICODE says: "uc". DIR_CT_RUN says "D:\usr\sap\BIL\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64"
So why does the EHPI think this is a Non-Unicode system?
Any ideas?

When i check the files "BIL_DVEBMGS00_BILBO.PPR" and "START_DVEBMGS00_BILBO.PPR" from the EHPI directory D:\usr\sap\EHPI\abap\log\ i do find entries like

and
2 OS_UNICODE User: SAP: nuc
But the question remains. Where does it take these ones from? The System profiles do not refer to "nuc" anywhere but always to "uc".

Thanks for the information. /dev/shm was 100% full. now, the issue is solved after deleting its contents. and we have finished with EHP4 upgrade.
After upgrade, SAP_AP component still showing as 700
SAP_AP - 700 - 0015 - SAPKNA7015 -SAP Application Platform
Can we delete old tablespace PSAPSR3700, it is showing as 0% used in brspace at present.
Also while trying to move some datafiles using brtools after upgrade we are getting following error,

We are installing the EHP4 on a ERP 6.0 EHP4 ready ABAP system. ( MSCS
Installation)
We are using SAP EHP INSTALLER 7.00 .( latest version)
However , while in extraction phase we are getting following
error "evere error(s) occured in phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG!
Last error code set: Failed to copy 1 files, check 'KX_CPYORG.LOG' for
details"
We have checked that user SIDADM user has full rights over the
directory "
SAPGCP\sapmnt\GCP\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64"
Please advice where to look for errors and how to resolve them. Just an information i DID NOT stopped any services on both of nodes , as its an MSCS installation and i am running ehpi tool at server on which CI was installed and running the tool from CI /usr/sap/sid/ehpi directory.
There is no error in KX_CPYORG.log file .

In my case, it cannot overwrite some files, i could found it in the log.

EHP6 - Severe error(s) occurred in phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG!

Hi All,
We are at the "extraction" stage of our EHP6 upgrade for pre-prod system, this serves as rehearsal for the execution of the same upgrade in production system.
However, SUM is stopped due to below error.
SUM - EXTRACTION phase stops at PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG, showing the error message below:
Severe error occurred in phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG!
Last error code set is: Failed to copy 1 files, check 'KX_CPYORG.LOG' for details
And checking from log, it shows "4EETQ399 Source file 'exe_syb.lst' missing!". This file doesn't exist anywhere in the system. Also, checking from logs of previous EHP6 upgrade in our DEV and QAS systems, this file doesn't exist. And instead of "exe_syb.lst", what has been copied from previous upgrades is 'exe_db6.lst'. We are at HP-UX and DB6.

Kindly share 'KX_CPYORG.LOG files for analysis.Meanwhile try to patch the kernel with latest available at SMP and recheck for permissions and ownerships under kernel directory.

Hi,
Upgrade tool is trying to start the system but system is not coming up. Try to start system manually and see if system comes up or not. If not then check logs in work directory for why system is not coming up.

We are on SUSELinux 10 SP2
Oracle 10.4 and
I am in the process of applying EhP4 on top of my ECC 6.0 SR3 server and i m in the Extraction roadmap step and at a phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG which gives me the following error

The issue is resolved and i did the following
1) Cancelled the Ehp4 installation
2) Deleted EHPI directory
3) Downloaded latest EhPI (which is released on 1 Oct)
4) Restarted the EhP4 installation
5) Changed the icmbnd file permissions in the source directory to 777 and owner to SIDadm
6) Copied it manually with the same permissions into the target exe directory (ehp4/EHPI/abap/exe)
7) After the phase reset the file permissions back to original in the source directory (/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run)
Only one good suggestion is download the latest EhP installer

EHP4 upgrade Error - phase MAIN_SHDINST/RUN_RSVWSCPY were negative

Currently I am doing EHP4 upgrade on Oracle 10g with Sun Solaris 5.10 , During preprocessing phase ( The EhP Installation program builds the shadow system from the original one.)
I am getting following error

I performed what you mentioned, I execute "Create_SHDDBCON" function module on SE37... but I didn´t continue this execution because I´m not sure what I have to fill in that parameters: DBUSER ; DBPASS and CONENV. You recommended some values to that fields/parameters... but where you have been seeking this values/information? How you know that?

EHP4 upgrade -- Error at loading stack file

Hi guys,
I have come across an error while upgrading to EHP4, after making a stack file from solution manager maintainance optimiser, I got the error of "no access to solution manager then I gave the path of stack file and it worked. Now it has sever error : Stack file is invalid. (stack release 2005_1_700 < source release 2008_1_700). Thats because after installing EHP4 ready the level of ST-PI is 2008_1_700 and the solution manager is calculating it 2005_1_700.
Any sugestions on it....

the sahdow system is running fine, the rfc is also connected but now it has error on phase MAIN_SHDRUN/ALTNTAB_FILL.

EhP4-Upgrade: Errors in DDIC_ACTIVATION

Hi!
I am hanging in DDIC:ACTIVATION phase of EHP4-Upgrade due to following errors:
Table RNWP_ARRIVAL_LIST cannot be activated
Table RNWP_DEPARTURE_LIST cannot be activated
Table RNWP_OCCUPANCY_LIST cannot be activated
When I go to SE11 and execute the check I get:
Field DWS_OPEN_TASK_ICON in Tabelle RNWP_ARRIVAL_LIST comes double (please check)
Field DWS_OPEN_WORK_ICON in Tabelle RNWP_ARRIVAL_LIST comes double (please check)
Fiels DWS_PROFESSIONS in Tabelle RNWP_ARRIVAL_LIST comes double (please check)
The other error is:
View V_FBN_T74HB cannot be activated
(W- Field SPRAS is a language field. Check usage in key )
(W- Search help J_7LE01_F4 not inherited: Basis field J_7LE01-LAND1 missing in view )
(W- Field name DECIMAL is reserved (Do not use structure as include in DB table) )

Hi Richa,
DDIC Activation errors should be fixed in Shadow system and not in the original system.
As Sunny said you can ignore the above errors but if i were you i would ask my Development team to look into this issue.
To fix this issue in shadow system you have to unlock the shadow system by using the below command
Go to the bin directory (/usr/sap/SID/upg/abab/bin) and issue the command ./SAPup unlockshd SID and login to client 000
of the shadow system and open the client and from SE06 set the system as Modifiable.After fixing the above error lock the
client and the shadow system ./SAPup lockshd SID and rerun ACT_UPG phase and check the log file to see if the above error
is fixed.

Check that all files .SAR and .CAR is uncar in EPSINBOX, uncar any file manually that not found in EPSINBOX and try again phase.
Other option is that restart EHPI and ensure that all package .SAR and .CAR is in download directory and that this files are OK.

I have started my upgrade from ERP EHP4 to EHP5.
During phase PreProcessing - the phase MAIN_SHDRUN/DDIC_UPG fails for the following reason :

This issue is caused by misconfigured parameters for Oracle. The main
ones are the parameters: PROCESSES and SESSIONS.

I checked the table status. There were no database tables.
This is my second upgrade of EHP7. At first time , I choosed 'Starard' mode.
At this time I choosed 'Single System'.
I activated one table(/BA1/F4_RELEASE) and repeated phase , then passed its table.
But there are almost 1,300 talbes.
Is this bug of 'Single System' mode ?
Or is there any solution?
My configuraion is
OS: WIndows 2008 R2
DB: SQL Server 2008 R2
CPU: 2
memory: 16GB
