Either itunes isnt working properly or im just stupid!

So i tried creating a ringtone on itunes 8 but its def not working. I could pick which part of the song i wanted. However, when i was finished, i didnt see a "create ringtone" or anything. All i saw was "preview" and half of the word "cancel" (im assuming-it was cut off). I dont have a slide bar to move over or anything. What in the world is the problem?!
I tried uninstalling and installing but I still have this problem. Please help!!
(I also had the same issue when I first installed Itunes and wanted to register my iphone but couldnt continue because it cut off near Cancel?

I recently got a new computer. It has vista, which I was a little worried about because of all the problems it has had with iTunes and what not. I figured those problems would be worked out by now, but to my disma there are still problems. Well atleast with my computer. I have tried everything to get my library from my old computer to my new one and it still has not worked. I have tried to follow the directions online to manually manage my music. I have put my music as a folder on my iPod. I have reinstalled iTunes three times. I have downloaded a third party software to try to transfer them. I have also tried to call the support line but they suggested I post a question. So here it goes. Does anyone know why iTunes will not take all of my music in any way shape or form? I have authorized the computer, although most of my music has not been obtained 100% legally so that doesnt really do me any good anyway. I have gone into my preferences and changed a bunch of stuff. I have tried everything sort of putting all my 1000+ songs onto cds. So if anyone has had iTunes mess up this bad and you have figured out why please enlighted me. Thank you

Can I install the online version rather than using my dvd? it successfully installed (up to a point) that way, it just wont accept my serial number for some reason. my dvd isnt working properly.

If it gets far enough to reject your serial number, it won't help to download it. It must have installed ok.
What is the message you get (DON'T tell us the serial number!!)?
Does it mention a "qualifying product" by any chance?

I can't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 8. I tried everything and iTunes is NOT compatible with Windows 8. There is either an iTunes issue or a Microsoft issue.

I finally got it to work right. Some files and folders (iTunes video files, etc) were referenced to my iTunes account, I copied from my backup (external) Hard Drive to my system Hard Drive. The only thing that can keep me from accessing my wish list for some time is a very heavy Internet traffic via iTunes players to iTunes Store. So everything is now NORMAL.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

Try to force quit the mail app
Double tap the home button. When you see the app previews on the screen scroll sideways if needed to get the preview in question on the screen. Flick that preview up and off the screen to close the app. Single tap the home button or home screen preview to exit the mode.
Failing that, go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars and remove your account info then put it back in and see if that works

I have a HP Pavilion dm1-2150so with Windows 7.
My Synaptic Touchpad isnt working properly. It is shaking and moving around and I have to use a mouse to use the computer. I downloaded the driver updates recommended on the HP site but then the Touchpad didnt work at all.

What exactly happened?
would you notice a mechanical issue with the button?
if its a hardware issue and your under the warranty, you could have the device be repaired or replace as long as there is no accidental damage and liquid damage.
you can always do a restore to isolate it from being a software issue

My lap top wont import pictures from auto play. it keeps saying there is a file error and a device connected to the computer isnt working properly. i have tried going into the internal storage to copy and paste the pictures but this wont work either.

I have decided to dedicate this thread to the wonderful errors of Lion OSX. Each time I find a huge problem with Lion I will make note of it here.
Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

ITunes not working properly with HP running Vista home premier

My Ipod touch works fine on my windows XP pro system but does not sync photos and podcasts from my other computer at home: new HP Multimedia system running Vista Home Premier. It goes through all the motions but will only add a few photos from a file and they are partially corrupt. Many times it won't add any selected photos. Same with podcasts, they won't sync to the ipod. Have tried various USB ports.

well, it is easy. i just wish it to sync in a manner that i do not get frustrated with it. it just does not like to sync when i open up itunes on desktop to update apps when they have updates. i have got to revert to plugging in the phone and ipad for it to sync and update apps. if you read through the whole thing you would have found it out. all i am saying is that itunes 10.6.1 and ios 5.1 have bugs and issues that make it hard for a iphone and ipad user to sync and update apps. itunes is slow to open with windows 7 as well as i did not mention that before but i have mentioned it in my other forum posts.

ITunes Not working Properly/Not Syncing on Network properly

For weeks and weeks now on my Computer iTunes will not see or recognize my iPhone 4S and my iPad 3. When I try to sync by opening iTunes on desktop and then wake up pho ad iPad it does not see it and will not show them in iTunes no matter what I do. I have reset network, forget network, renew lease on wifi network and shut down both and turned back on and nothing has worked!!! I have reported this many times as well in the past. It is like Apple themselves have changed the way iTunes suyncs with the phone and ipad when trying to sync to make updates on apps.I am at wits end!!! Since they did the update to 10.6.1 it has been a pain in the you know what to sync to update apps.I got to plug both in to computer for them to sync and update apps or update apps from the iphoor ipad itself. Please Apple or someone who knows what needs to be fixed please fix it it is very aggrevating it has been weeks like this and I would have thoughht that Apple would have gotten the hint when I have seen others complain about this as well. It is from what I see most of the time it is with Windows 7 computers that have this syncing connectivity issue but I do see it happen in Wndows Vista as well as I have both operating systems here with 2 iphones, 1 iphone 4s logged in to windows vista when updating apps and the other which is windows 7 and it has ipad 3 and iphone 4s attached to it to sync when updates to apps become available. I hope some can make sense of all this and help or get apple to fix the issue finally!!!!
