Email not connecting

I have been away travelling for a few days and three days ago, my iPad (iOS 8.2) failed to connect to my two email providers.
Now I am home, and although the device indicates 'connected' (and I can get my emails on my home PC using the same ISP),
I cannot get any emails from
the two providers on my iPad. I guess (?) I must have changed a setting somewhere.
I have tried rebooting the device, without success.  Any suggestion
where I should start, please?
iPad shows the wifi logo in top left of screen.
I have a gmail app which fails to download emails.
I also have two email accounts  via the Apple 'Mail' app. neither of these will download either - if I attempt to 'send' an email
it stays in the outbox and is not sent.
Chrome will connect to the internet.
Safari will NOT connect to the internet
BBC IPlayer will not connect
FaceTime will not connect

Welcome to the discussions board!
I would recommend to uninstall your email accounts from your device, then perform a "Soft reset" which will delete your mailbox settings, then reinstall your mailbox and try to sync again.
To perform the reset just type *#7780# (security code 12345) on your keyboard, this action will not delete anything except your email settings.

    No one seems to be hearing what Big Q is saying.
    He can pair his iPhone to his Macbook, but cannot CONNECT. He's NOT asking for alternative solutions, like Wi Fi.
    I am able to both pair and connect my one one Macbook to my other one, but I can only pair but not connect my iPhone or iPad to either Macbook. So I have the same problem. But I can pair and connect my Macbooks to other Bluetooth devices, like my ancient Nokia cellfone, or my Bluetooth HP printer.
    It's irrelavent that I can instead use a direct USB cable or Wi Fi between my Macbooks and my iPhone/iPad - why can't I use Bluetooth? If Apple does not allow Bluetooth between it's Macbooks and other Mac devices, then why have Bluetooth at all? Does my iPhone have Bluetooth only so that I can pair and connect to my my non Apple mobile handsfree car kit, or communicate easily with the dreaded Apple enemy Samsung, or what?
    Make no mistake , I am a diehard Apple fan, but this Bluetooth non compatibility issue appears shortsighted and seemingly pointless. Why does Apple not just say why they created the non compatibility, or have a message on the Bluetooth setup programme which simply and clearly says "don't bother wasting hours of your time trying to pair and connect your iPhone to your Macbook, because we don't allow that anymore, reason being that............"?
    As a first time user of this Forum I am surprised at the intolerant and highhanded tone of some of the replies  to what is a legitimate question, that is obviously plagueing many, many other Apple users.

    I keep getting an error that the server will not connect.  I deleted the account and tried to re establish, but will not finish the process.Help

    to this godaddyhelp.com and put in the search "gdform" I did and
    this code for a gd.aspform so I copied it and pasted it in my code
    in dreamweaver and tried to use their form with gd.asp in the
    action field and that did not work? When I push submit a "Page can
    not be found error" (the white 404 page) comes up and it does not
    submit it to the email which I have set in my server for my emails
    to go through. But they told me to use asp yes. Do ya think you can

    after the upgrade all my e-mails (gmail, exchange, hotmail...) it keeps saying that is connecting and nothing happens, the new email are not being downloaded.
    I tried through 3G as well as the wifi , the same problem
    I reset the network connection, and it seems it worked for that moment, and then after that it goes back to connecting.
    is there anyone out there who has a solution

  • ICloud email not connecting.

    Hi,
    I am unable to send/recieve any @mac.com emails through Apple Mail, my iPhone, and through iCloud.com. I have, long ago, transitioned to iCloud since we were first allowed and just ran into this problem.
    I have two accounts set up through Apple Mail, my @mac address and an Exchange email for my work. The Exchange account is able to send/receive through Apple Mail, my iPhone and through the Exchange web site. No problems with the Exchange account
    My @mac address is unable to connect to the server. The last email I recieved was about 5 hours ago at 5:22 am PDT. I first noticed it on my iPhone when it kept asking me to enter my password. Then when I launched Apple Mail on my desktop I get a dialog box asking me to enter password for the .Mac Account. It also says that the MobileMe IMAP server "p99-imap.mail.me.com" rejected the pasord for my account. When I enter the password, the same dialog box pops up.
    However, I am able to sign into iCloud.com and check my calendar, address book, Find My iPhone and iWork. But I cannot connect to Mail through iCloud.com. It tries to load the mail page but returns a dialog saying that it cannot and asks whether or not I want to send a report to Apple.
    I have tried changing my password thru the My Apple ID support page and I am still having this problem. I can access all iCloud services except for Apple Mail.
    Can anyone help? Thanks for taking the time.

    I'm having the same. Cannot read mail on Icloud.com, it gives me an error (í'll try to post it here), and on Macbooks, iphones, macpros is giving "wrong login or password".  Tried to connect from anoter WiFi network, even from 3G. Nothing. All services shown OK on icloud service page.

  • Email not connecting on 3G - one account is not showing up in accounts

    I just got my iPhone and I set up three email accounts. They were all working fine, then I noticed they weren't getting any new mail and the little connection wheel at the bottom just went around endlessly.
    I tried turning one account on and then off in the settings, but that seems to have just made it disappear from the list of available email accounts in mail/accounts.
    I have WiFi off because I wasn't in an area with any WiFi.
    I admit, coming from a blackberry, it is severe withdrawal to have no email working at all, and no phone support or easy fix (the next Genius bar appt here is in 3 days- AND I have to go to a store to fix problems).
    UNLESS- you have a great idea? Please, any help appreciated.

  • Can anyone help - my mail on my ipad will not connect to the server. My internet access is fine. How can I get my email to connect to the server?

    My ipad will not connect tot he server when trying to access my mail. This has been happening since last Sunday. Some have said it is due to the latest software update. I am able to connect to the internet.
    I am not having this issue on iPhone.
    I checked all the settings, the wireless router in my house and at work.
    I have completed a hard reset of the device.
    I had our IT guy at work look at it.
    He said to contact Apple....
    Any thoughts?

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.     Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

    Since 29/10/2012 my iphone 4s and more recently my ipad 3 will not connect to the server when trying to access my email account. All I get is an error message saying that 'cannot get mail, connection to the server failed' I hadnt changed any settings it just happened. I have since done a complete re-boot on the ipad but to no avail. Anybody got any suggestions?

    No. Everything was working fine and then it wasn't. I hadn't changed any settings or switched either one off. When the phone stopped working properly I ignored it because I always have my ipad with me but that just sopped working properly and now I am stuffed. I have tried most solutions suggested on here even wiping the ipad clean and re-booting. I did this exactly the same way as when I first got it but still no joy. The same with the phone.

    I cannot synch movies to my iPad.  This has worked for me in the past.  I keep getting an error message that I am not connected to the internet.  Yet, I certainly am.  How else could I post this message.  I can listen to music clips from the iTunes store, fetch my email, and read current newspapers on the internet.  I restarted both my iMac and my Ipad and that didnot help. 

    I completely understand what is happening. I know that you are connected to the Internet. I made the suggestion because I have seen it work in similar circumstances. The Apple iTunes servers can be a bit fussy about things and sometimes rebooting the router clears up this miscommunication between iTunes and your network.
    Have you tried signing into your account and then try to sync again. Go to Store>View Account. You will have to enter your password. Then try to sync again. Or try signing out completely in Store>Sign out. Quit iTunes, sign in again and then try to sync again.
    Sometimes refreshing settings will help clear up weird problems.

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you are getting a connection error when trying to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 printer.
    Please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. I have included a link to another post that has the steps with screen shots on how to do this. Don’t worry that the screen shots are for a Photosmart 7510, the steps are the same.
