Email not received and email delayed

My friends tell me that they have sent messages to me that I have not received. The messages bounce back to the sender.  Some messages get through but are delayed as much as 18 to 36 hours.  Sometimes senders will send a message to my wife and me (both @verizon.net)  and only only one of us will receive it.  The sender with the most problems getting their email to us has a @yahoo.com account.  This has been going on for a few weeks.  The problem is the same whether reading messages on webmail, my computer or my iPhone.  What is the problem and how can it be fixed?

I had been in touch with customer support from east to west coast's and very few supervisors are aware of this. One recent week ago, a high level support person said the servers are too few and they are designing and planing to upgrade them but without any complete date. So, the reply was, maybe a few months or a year.
For the time being, they are throttling email speeds to 1.5 down/1.5 up on webmail at all times and via email client software (outlook etc) it will vary depending on time of day. Faster at night, slower in daytime or business hours.
I believe this is decieving to all customers as I'm sure no one is getting any discount on their Fios Internet billing. I have asked for credits however, trouble tickets need to be generated first to make it easy for billing to verify there is a tech issue filed/pending on your account.  I have at least 100 hours of phone time and loss of capacity when it comes to my work due to very slow email speeds, something I rely on for my business. I really don't want to creat a gmail account that is free but unsupported however, will send and recieve emails perfectly fast. Did I mention that was free?  Verizon is charging a portion of the total ISP fee's for their email and news but can't deliver since September 2012.

    Ok, you can go to Norton's website and look there. But if it is in the bottom right hand corner, you should be able to right click it to disable it. I hate Norton and I do not have norton, but I am sure you can do it that way. I scrapped Norton a long time ago.

    My foolish husband put his apple password on a website. Apple has suspended his account. He is not getting the reset password emails and the security questions are not the ones he used. We live in Malawi where there is no phone support access. How can he contact apple by chat or email (through a different account) to start getting his emails back?

  • N97mini email app does not receive and send emails

    I have installed Nokia email app (build 10.2.0.26 (main)) onto my N97mini. I have setup it up to fetch emails from my gmail and yahoo mail accounts. I also added gadgets to my screen so that I can view incoming emails. It worked before. But now, it stops fetching emails. When I go options->tools->connection info, it always shows offline mode.
    I use several wifi network between home and school. Other app like opera works fine. I can use opera to access my gmail. When I do options->Send/receive, nothing happen. The icon on the top of the email screen is always a circule with a slash. So it means offline mode. I suppose when I click Send/receive it should go online to check emails. But it does not. Very few times, it goes online and checks email by itself. But I have no idea what triggers that.
    The setting is:
    what to sync [Inbox] = sync enabled
    when to sync [days] = 7 days; [hours] = on all day; [disable sync when] = battery at 15%; [Send and receive] = soonest;
    Please advice what do I miss here?

    now my one account works perfectly without any additional changes, but my other one works not.
    it shows that my password or username is wrong then i deleted it, created it new. after typing password and username 10 times right it worked. i got my emails and one minute later the same problem again...
    i really do not understand the problem... i use the same preferences for the other account and it works, and everything worked untill yesterday. seems like it works if the iphone just wants to.

    my provider is gmx. pop account information with my adress and name, server for incomming emails: hostname is pop.gmx.net username and password are correct.

  • I purchased 2 itunes ecards and they were not received and I am unable to edit them.  support is non existent!!  Any ideas how I can cancel these since they weren't received?

    I ordered two itunes cards tonight and my granddaughter didn't receive either of them!
    I was unable to obtain online support of any kind.
    The gift view will not allow me to edit the gift, delte or change it.

    Unfortunately the way to make a union of MC ID numbers and making code if not accepted in any way via the website it is only through Microsoft's support centers. 
    I strongly suggest you contact them, their service and attitude is very good! 
    Slowly try to explain to them what you want to do.

    Sorry you've had this experience.
    Skype isn't responsible for transactions via third party vendors but you have the option of disputing the charge with your financial institution and then seeking an alternative supplier.

  • Mail not receiving and Proxi.app (Griffin Technology)

    If you got Proxi.app (Griffin Technology) installed..Download and install the new Proxi 1.5.4 that came out today.
    It will solve the "*Mail doesn't downloading mails to mailbox*" problem!

    I have this same problem as well. Mail will work fine for a few hours then it will get "stuck" on downloading a message. I never gets unstuck and I can't quit mail or the activity of downloading the mail - thus I have to force quit the app several times a day. It will also occasionally tell me to rebuild the index, which I do, but it only seems to help for a couple of hours until the next message gets stuck while downloading. Mail.app ran fine up until recently.
    The only thing I can think of recently is that I have been on some sites that say "if you visit this site it may damage your computer" - I never downloaded anything... can malware be added to you computer just by visiting a site via the safari browser? I ran a malware/virus scan and it found mostly windows malware/viruses in old archived email attachments. Any ides?
    FWIW: I'm using POP accounts and keeping them on the server for 1 week

  • Reminders colors do not match and syncing delays

    The reminder colors in iOS 7 and iCloud.com do not match. Is this an early bug?
    Also, reminders in iOS 7 do not sync immediately, sometimes. Sometimes I need to turn off the iphone off and on again for something to happen.

    I have been seeing issues with sync on Reminders as well. I have found that opening the Calendar app forces a refresh of the Reminders app as well. For some reason there is a long delay in Reminders syncing and making a call to the serve,r since upgrading to iOS 7. Opening Calendar and then jumping to Reminders has helped. I would also suggest toggling Reminders sync under Settings>iCloud off and on. Much like the Mac version, Reminders and Calendar are linked to one another. If you are a Mac user, opening both apps on the Mac and then hitting Command+R in Calendar will force a refresh of both apps. I am confident these issues will be resolved soon by Apple. A major overhaul like iOS 7 is bound to be ripe with some bugs. Hope this helps.

  • TS2755 I can't receive messages on my iPhone 4?? It will let me send them just not receive, and this happens on text and iMessage. Help anyone?!

    I have a iPhone 4 on contract and every now and then it will stop receiving messages when I am in the middle of a conversation. I don't use iMessage as I sometimes go over the limit of my Internet data. So I stick with SMS. And even when I do try with iMessage I still can't receive messages. I don't know if this is a on fault on the phone but it's a really bad downfall if its common on most iPhones. Don't get me wrong but I love this phone I think it's great but it's annoying when I can't receive messages. And at this moment
    In time I still can't receive them. Been happening for 12 hours now and it's never been this long usually, advice anyone?

    If you are having issues sending or receiving messages from a specific contact (in this case, your wife), you may find this portion of the following article helpful (ignore the numbering):
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact in the Contacts app. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.

  • Fix for VM not received and visual voicemail not showing

    Wanted to share this with all. Easy fix at bottom of this post
    Iphone 4 user.
    My voice mail was not getting through - no tri-tone alert and no sign of the message on visual voice mail screen. Happened over the last 10 days after working properly prior.
    Called Apple Care rep. Lot's of thought, lot's of consultation (10 minutes)
    Advice: take Sim card out and the put it back in and/OR call ATT to address issue.
    OK... I didn't touch the Sim...called ATT. Rep keeps me on 10 minutes! Could almost smell the smoke of her mental processes as she kept saying "OK just one minute" about 30 times and lots of questions for me!
    Finally says she is stumped and gets me to her "2nd level" tech person.
    This person tells me do this simple thing - delete any visual voice mails and then delete all the deleted. Simple as can be. Took 15 seconds. Problem solved.
    AND... she said it's a known issue and that this fix has worked well every time.
    Worked for me and so far I don't have to keep constantly deleting the VM's to keep it working.
    I told her, please tell your fellow reps and please let the Apple reps know this as well. Would have saved me a lot of time.
    So simple...My god.

    oh my gosh. thank you! i was also on the phone with them forever, they recommended everything under the sun and none of it worked. i never would've thought of this but it fixed my problem in about 15 seconds. it's crazy that they don't know about this already!
