Email - Staying Connected - E71

I am not sure if I am doing this wrong but I have just downloaded Nokia Email and I did set up my Gmail and .Mac. So what I do is go to Email->Option-> Connect and that is how I am connected to my email accounts and for both accounts my Push Mail is working like a charm.  But the problem that I have is when I am in the Email, if i click END Key it automatically disconnects me from the Email so my Push email is not working any longer since I am not connected.  Is there any way I can always be connected to email or End Key can be set to go Back or something else but to disconnect me?

Hi whynot,
If you disconnect your device from the internet by pressing and holding the red phone key on the E71, then no, Nokia Email will not be able to synchronize email until you re-connect to the internet, or until you perform a manual sync within the client (which re-connects your device to the internet).

  • E71 Not staying connected to email for sync/new em...

Hi all. Im new to the E71. One thing i have noticed is that i need to hit the home button to keep myself connected to my email. Ok i can remember that. But sometimes it just disconnects and im not sure why. Completely random as i can see. But i need it to stay connected or to reconnect on its own when i lose service for a min or something. Any ideas for me? Thanks in advance

Firefox Sync stores your Sync credentials in Password Manager, so they're available across restarts.
If you have Firefox set to clear your passwords on exit, then your Sync account credentials have been lost, and you'll have to set up Sync every time you start Firefox. (I hope you saved your Sync Key somewhere!)
In order to have Sync persist across restarts, you need to disable clearing of passwords. I'm also uncertain what the behavior of Sync will be if you clear your history; it should work fine, but I've never tested it myself.

  • N8 stays connected after web browsing/email connec...

I have recently updated to Anna on my Nokia N8, the problem I have is - when I connect and get my emails or browes the web and have completed my connection and close the application the phone still stays connected!! (under the old operating system it auto-disconnected when I had finished.
    1) Is there anywhere that I can set the phone to disconnect when I have finished on the web/email?
    2) At present I have to open up the settings menu, go into connection manager hold my finger on the connection listed and choose disconnect, shurely there must be an easier way to disconnect?

  • IPhone 4 does not stay connected to internet over 3G+

I have an iPhone 4 on the telus network running the latest version of the os 4.3.3. My phone will not stay connected to the Internet most of the time. It looses connection and won't reconnect until I turn on airplane mode and then turn it back off. It also looses connection if I have wifi on and it detects a network but choose not to connect to it. I have restored my phone and it fixed the problem for half a day before it started again. I only have a couple months warranty left, is this covered do you think?

I don't have another phone to try. I took out the sim to check for deffects but it looked fine. Cleaned the sim card with alcohol and cleaned the aim compartment. Phone didn't loose Internet connection all day yesterday, but this morning went to check emails and wouldn't update until I turned airplane mode on then off again.

  • Iphone 4 does not stay connected to my network

Since upgrading to 6.1, my iPhone 4 does not stay connected to my network.  I have to input my password each time I leave my house.  My other devices stay connected, so the issue is with the upgrade.  Has anyone found a way to keep their IPhone connected to their network?  Thanks.

  • HP Officejet 6500A Plus not staying connected to wireless network

Just picked up a HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer - E710n the other week and set it all up and it was working wonderfully. But I noticed after it goes into sleep mode it disconnects from the wireless network and doesn't reconnect.
I will get a overview of how I have it all set up.
I have a DSL modem with a TRENDnet TEW-639GR router connected to it. I have set my router to reserve IP addresses for the computer and printer. That way I can leave the computer and printer wireless IP settings as automatic and they will always get the same IP address. I do this for the wireless network at my parents place as well and it works perfectly with their HP Photosmart C7280.
I also set up the HP ePrintCenter feature on the printer so that I can print by sending the printer an email. When I first set it all up this was working great. I tested it all and it was awesome. When I would log onto the ePrint website it would show as connected and it was all good.
So then what happened was it was all fine then the next day when we want to print something the computer says the printer is offline. I go on the HP ePrintCenter website and it says not connected. I print out a wireless network report page and it says not connected. After I printed that test page, I guess it woke up the printer enough or something as it then connected to the router and printed fine as well as showed up as connected on the ePrintCenter website. So all was good. Then the next day the printer goes to sleep and again it shows as disconnected.
Should it not be staying connected in sleep mode? How will the printer know something is being sent to it and that it should wake up if it is not staying connected?
Any suggestions of what I should change with the settings? I suppose I could try setting the IP settings as static on the printer itself but I shouldn't need to as I set it to static on the router. When it finally does reconnect it does always keep the same IP. If that is what is required I guess I could do that but then what is the point in having an automatic setting if it doesn't work? I would rather have this issue fixed that have to do a work around for it.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
The printer should stay connected to your wireless network after the printer enters the sleep mode.
This is not an expected behavior.
I believe such an issue may be caused due to a signal quality or any conflict as too many broadcust on the same channel.
Please try the following steps in order to better understand the issue:
Follow the Wireless Setup Wizard if your printer currently disconnected
    Enter the Setup menu.
    Enter the Network menu.
    Click Wireless.
    Click Wireless Test Report.
What is the signal quality provided by the report and what channel used to broadcast by your router?
If you may scan and attach the report, it may help to better understand any possible cause.
    Regards,
    Shlomi

Thanks for the quick response. What you have said makes sense but there is no rhyme or reason to he data used. I reset my cellular data counter to zero so both sent and received read zero. I was connected to wifi and let the phone to go into sleep mode. I waited about ten minutes and sent myself the same email four times, each with a 750 kb attachment. It was sent to my .me address so it was push mail on my phone. Sure enough I checked a minute later while bringing the phone out of sleep mode and checked the data. It showed just 10kb sent but 1mb received which just doesn't tally with the 4 x 750kb mails received. It just isn't making sense.
He knows what you asked and has already answered it!
I thought I had read where the iOS4 (or maybe just the iPhone 4) was supposed to be able to keep wifi connections alive while inactive. If the phone is sitting there on a charger with a wifi connection available, why use the 3G?

  • GPRS or Wifi stay connected all the time

I am in a big dilemma. A few days back the GPRS or Wi-Fi connection always connects on its own and stays connected for hours! It used to connect only when required (exchange or Push mail set to synchronize every 30 minutes). It used to connect, check mails and disconnects automatically. But now, it stays on all the time. I checked all my mail connections and they are all set to check mails every 30 minutes. I made sure there are no apps running in the background also.
I called Nokia care and their suggestion is to format the phone and try. But I have so many pics, videos and data that I do not want to format.
A better solution (than hard reset/format) is always welcome.
    Thanks.

Hi Pravin. Although it does not transfer any data, my concern was the connection always being active and battery life getting shortened. Anyways, the connection always being on according to me is a bug.
After I did the factory reset, I came to a conclusion that it was one of the emails that I had configured (5 email accounts + 1 exchange account) and one of the email accounts was hanging this.
It is much better now after a factory reset.

  • Unable to stay connected

I moved to a new city and set up on a new router provided by our cable company.  Everything worked swimmingly through our previous router.  Have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a.  Router is from Hitron Technologies provided through Suddenlink Cable Company.  Running 2 laptops (with 2 versions of Windows - one provided through work on version 7 the other a personal laptop version 8.1) - when I run the printer test page one says the OS Environment is Windows X64 the other says it is Windows NTx86.  I can only get my work laptop (if the printer has gone to sleep or the computer hasn't been turned on for a few hours) to run by running the printer wireless wizard WPA password every time I want to print something.  On the personal laptop I literally have to reinstall the printer drivers and even that didn't work today.  I haven't even tried the two IPADS yet but had in the past been able to get them to print through the HPE email.  Last time I tried to do that it didn't work.  Needless to say I cannot continue to work in this environment and while I've learned more than I ever wanted to know about this by trying various fixes, I am not at all tech savvy.  So I need  a step by step fix.

These settings are for setting up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, keep wireless devices better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.
    1. Set a static IP in the printer (click here) outside the DHCP range of the router (check your manual).
This is for Linksys routers but can be used for all routers. Verify your DHCP range and change this
first if needed. More Wireless Printing help is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
    2. Verify in the printer that 'Auto Off/Sleep' is disabled.  Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by going
to the printers IP address in your browsers address bar, click Settings Tab/Auto Off. Or use the Printer
Assistant, Printer Home Page (EWS). Also check your Printers Properties.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, turn off IPv6 in the printer.
    4. If needed and you assigned a static IP address, try using 8.8.8.8 for the Preferred DNS server and
8.8.4.4 at the Alternate DNS server.
In the router: (Refer to your router manual for information)
    5. Use a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    6. Set router to 20Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on router.
    7. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal) encryption, but you can try ‘mixed’ mode.
    8. Disable WPS and never use it and disable UPnP for the routers security. Nobody can hack your
system now and helps with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, search the web).
    9. If you have a dual band router (2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands), make sure the SSID’s are NOT the same,
they must be different for all bands, even for any Guest networks.
    10. SSID broadcast must be enabled.
    11. Save all settings. Power off both, wait 2 mins.  Power on router wait 2 mins.
    12. Power on printer and verify it reconnects to router.
Windows 7/8/8.1   Is Network Discovery on or off?
Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Advanced sharing settings.
Under Home or Work (current profile) / Network Discovery.
Select "Turn on network discovery" and save changes.

  • IPhone 4 Not Staying Connected to my m1424wr router

my iphone 4 is not staying connected to the m1424wr router.  how do i start the process with FIOS to check the rouret or get it swapped out?

What version of code do you have on the IPHONE?  So, you could be in the middle of downloading email and it will disconnect?  What are you seeing?  The reason I ask is I have had different rev's of Actiontec, different apple devices and never really had a problem outside of some software fixes I've seen.
Do you live in a house or apartment?  Is there interference from other wireless LAN deviecs?

  • I receive emails from an exchange account and from Yahoo the exchange acoount emails stay on my ipad ok but the BTyahoo ones disapear after about 1 hour. Can someone advise on how to stop yhis happening.

I am having problems with my ipad. I receive emails from 2 seperate accounts one exchange account and the other from BTyahoo.
The exchange account emails stay on the ipad but the btyahoo ones disapear after about 1 hour can anyone help.

    To follow-up with this issue:
I ended up performing a security wipe on my device. The security wipe finished, and I was about to reconnect with Exchange when I decided to visit our host's web site to see if they had any articles covering the issues I was experiencing. While they didn't have anything specific, I did find a step-by-step guide to connecting a BB10 device to Exchange... and right there at the end, it said "Do NOT enable memo sync."
I contacted support, and the rep told me that OS 10 has an issue with memo sync and it can cause all sorts of unpredictable behavior. Now, whether or not this is accurate I can say this: So far, the device is not disconnecting and reconnecting like it was before. Problem is, is this a result of not enabling memo sync, or is this a result of the security wipe?
I may have overlooked it, but I don't recall reading anything about that anywhere else. I'm tempted to try re-enabling the memo sync to see if everything blows up again. At least that way I can see for myself if the memo sync is a real issue. Of course, perhaps it's an issue with SherWeb (our host) specifically. Hm...
Anyway, for those that were interested, and for those that may come along in the future with a similar situation, the strange behavior that I first reported is no longer happening. I just don't know if it was a result of a security wipe or a result of not enabling memo sync with Exchange.

  • Stay connected plan for staff connect plna

    Hi,
i'm very frustrated with my recent customer service experience.
I have recently purchased a phone under telstra staff connect plan. I want to opt for stay connected package like other telstra consumers. I aproached telstra store two times and every time they filled a form for stay connected but nothing happened after that. No email confirmation no notification was received. Finally today i approached customer service via phone and they told me that the request has to be made by manager. Unfotunately my manager is on leave and i don't know what to do. I waited 30 mins over phone to speak tyo stay connected team but to no avail.
Can someone please help me putting stay connected plan? Why do i need to bother my manager if its something which i am insuring at my own expense?
Why staff is not seeing stay connected pack while ordering the phone?
Please please help me i shall be highly thankful
    Thank you.

The ability for frontline staff to do much with the connect plans is limited, as they require a special authority only maintained by a couple of teams...
Given that Crowdsupport is mainly a customer-to-customer support method, where most of the contributors are either customers or staff outside of their normal position, you might find the ability to get it sorted limited via CS.
As with Staff discount and certain other things, there is a correct path to arrange it, in the past TSN did have the ability to modify these where TLS did not, otherwise, if you manager is away, do you have a supervisor or another manager whom you are able to talk to during their leave? and I believe it isn't available during the order online, as it is only able to be done instore (or in this case via escalation) in order to meet their requirements legally with product.

Why does my IPhone loss WIFI connection when I leave the room? When other mobile devices stay connected?
I can not send text messages to other IPhones if I do not have wifi or 3G on, the texts are sent as emails.

    Hey Linders1987,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that you are experiencing issues with Wi-Fi on your iPhone 5. The following resource may provide a solution:
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/TS1398
Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected
Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
Check for sources of potential interference.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including
    - previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    - recently used Bluetooth accessories
    - VPN and APN settings

  • My iPod Touch will no longer stay connected to the internet

Right before updating to iOS 6, I was using FaceTime and other various apps that require an internet connection, and they all worked just fine.
After updating to iOS 6, I noticed that things took a much longer time to load, such as Facebook. I then noticed that FaceTime was now extremely laggy, and often disconnected within 30 seconds (note that both sides are using wi-fi, not data plan). Now my iPod won't even stay connected to the internet, it keeps automatically disconnecting itself when I try to use FaceTime and tells me to "Log in" whenever I try to re-connect, only to send me to an apple site that says my search could not be found?

Though I'm not sure what that does, it was off o.O I turned it to auto, I am now able to use FaceTime but my App Store won't load any Categories, let's just hope Apple get's this sortded out soon.
EDIT: For some reason I keep typing "not" instead of "now" T.T
