Emailing Crystal Report in email body as HTML

I'm having a problem sending emails in CR 2008 when the report is displayed as HTML in the body of the email.
This code works in my development environment but it doesn't work in the testing environment when CR 2008 is installed using a .msi with CR merge modules:
ExportOptions crExportOptions = new ExportOptions();
crExportOptions.ExportDestinationType = ExportDestinationType.DiskFile;
crExportOptions.ExportFormatType = ExportFormatType.HTML40;
HTMLFormatOptions htmlOpts = ExportOptions.CreateHTMLFormatOptions();
htmlOpts.HTMLBaseFolderName = tempPath;
htmlOpts.HTMLFileName = fileName;
htmlOpts.HTMLEnableSeparatedPages = false;
htmlOpts.HTMLHasPageNavigator = false;
htmlOpts.UsePageRange = false;
crExportOptions.ExportFormatOptions = htmlOpts;
_reportDocument.Export(crExportOptions);
using (StreamReader r = File.OpenText(tempPath + "\\" + Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(_template.TemplateName) + "\\" + fileName))
     html = r.ReadToEnd();
When _reportDocument.Export(crExportOptions) is called this error is thrown:
Invalid export options.
I'm I doing something wrong with code, or do I need to do change something in my testing environment to get this to work?
Testing Environment:
Windows 2003 Server
2008 CR SP1 Merge Modules
.Net 3.5 SP1
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Since it works on your dev system then it is likely not a code issue. I suspect there is a runtime file difference between your dev and staging system. Use [Modules|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006252802008E/modules.zip] to see if you can spot the difference. You'll need to run this on both systems while your app is running.
On your dev system, go through the procedure of exporting and emailing your report. Then run modules while the app is still running.
On your staging system, go through the same procedure until you get the error. Leave the error on the screen and run modules.
Finally, compare the two mdl log files using modules differences feature.

  • Send Crystal Report by email reading Domino email list

    Hello all,
    Do you know how do I configure Crystal Reports, so that when I address a report to be sent by email, it reads the contacts list in a Domino server (lotus notes)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Cristina.

    As of CR 9 all functionality has changed, database, exporting, API's etc.
    Also, by default the export dll's are not installed. Go into add/remove programs and change CR. Select the modify, or what ever it is called on your OS, and expand the export types and scroll down until you see Lotus Domino...
    Test again
    Thank you

  • How Do I Display HTML Formatted Text From A Data Table In Crystal Reports?

    I'm creating reports in Crystal XI.  The information being displayed in the reports comes from data tables where the text is formatted in HTML.
    I've worked with Crystal Reports enough to know that HTML text pulled from a data table doesn't appear in Crystal the same way it does in a web browser.  Crystal Reports ignores all the tags (...unless I'm missing something...) and just displays the text.
    Someone far more Crystal savy than I (...who I don't have access to...) came up with a Formula Field workaround that tricks Crystal Reports into displaying some basic HTML tags.  Here's that workaround:
    <!--
    stringVar TableName := ;
    TableName := Replace (TableName, "<ul>","<br> <br>");
    TableName := Replace (TableName, "<li>", "<br>   &bull; ");
    TableName := Replace (TableName, "</li>", "");
    TableName := Replace (TableName, "</ul>","<br> <br>");
    TableName := Replace (TableName, "<a", "<u><font color='blue'");
    TableName := Replace (TableName, "</a>", "</font></u>");
    TableName
    -->
    QUESTION - Does any similar workaround exist so I can display an HTML Table in Crystal Reports?  If not, is there any way to display HTML formatted text from a data table in Crystal Reports as it would appear in a web browser?

    Hi Steven,
    To display html text in Crystal Reports follows these steps.
    1. Right click on the field and select Paragraph tab.
    2. Under 'Text Interpretation' select 'HTML Text' and click OK.
    I have tried using the way,but it never works.So reply me if there is any way to solve the issue

  • Ajuda sobre Crystal Reports

    Bom dia!
         Preciso de ajuda para a ferramenta Crystal Reports;
           1º - Antes da migração para versão XI tinhamos duas licenças "Crystal Enterprise               Professional Named User", onde, depois da migração não sabemos como ficou               a parte de licenciamento para Crystal?
                      2º - Tinhamos Base e Relatórios em Crystal que eram usados antes da migração,                      porem quando foi feito o levantamneto para migração nos informaram que               Crystal não era mais usado. Porem hoje nos questionaram como                            migrar/converter o que já temos (Base e Relatórios antigos), para voltar               a usar o Crystal na versão nova?
    Obrigada!

  • Needed a help in Crystal Report

    Dear Experts,
    As am developing a crystal report layout for sales order in which i required a condition field columns that if given parameter say "YES" then Unit price & Row total to be displayed or if the given the parameter value say "NO" then only Remarks to be displayed.
    Here the Unit price & Rowtotal were in two different columns with vertical lines drawn between both. But for the case of "NO" value passed in the parameter then both the column with vertical lines should to be suppressed into one single column as Remarks.
    Is it possible in crystal report, if any body had customized this kind of crystal report please assist me how to do...
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi..
    Take Parameter Field and use Same Parameter in Report Section & Make Fields Suppress on Particular Condition as YES & NO,you can hide fields using Suppress which you can apply on particular field by select that report field>right click and goto format text>Apply Suppress on particular condition of YES & NO

    Many Thanks

    You shouldn't be using the ClickOnce installer to integrate Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 into your VS environment. You should be using the link labeled SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio 2010 - Standard.
    Please elaborate if this doesn't answer your question.

  • Exporting a crystal report as PDF and Attaching to an email via code - Filename Issuses?

    Post Author: alynch
    CA Forum: .NET
    I need to export a crystal report as a pdf and send it out via email.  I have created a subroutine that works but the attached filename come up as "untitled.txt" so the receiving machine believes it is a text file.  If I rename it on the recipients machine to a ".pdf" I can open it with acrobat and it looks OK.  Does anyone know how to rename the file as a pdf prior to sending it out?
    Thank You.

    I have included a copy of the subroutine:
    Dim repdoc As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument()

    Dim ExpOpts As CrystalDecisions.Shared.ExportOptions

  • How to send ALV report by email, in the body of the email?

    Hello friends,
    I need to send a report ALV by email. First, the user wanted it attached as PDF file, but now he wants it in the body of the email.
    Does anybody have any solution?
    P.S.: I am using methods to send the email.
    Thanks in advance.
    Karla.

    Thank you Jan,
    I used the following solution to get the report in HTML code:
    I use submit to export the list to memory
    SUBMIT zsdr006_alv EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY AND RETURN.
    Them I get the list from memory
      CALL FUNCTION 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY'
    Finaly I convert the list to HTML code
      CALL FUNCTION 'WWW_HTML_FROM_LISTOBJECT'
    The problem is when I send the email, it is still not going on the body of the email.
    I tried taking off the attach method, but the email goes blank in the body.
    Actually to SOST the message goes with the HMTL report in the body, just like I need, but when send to any e-mail address, it does not go on the body of the message.
    Does any body could check this out?

    Hi,
    I have added a Crystal Report within the CMC. Before scheduling it, I have specified the Destination as Email and entered  the necessary details. After scheduling it, the Report Instance gives a Failure with Error Message as -
    destination DLL disabled.CrystalEnterprise.Smtp
    How to rectify this?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    go to the CMC and invoke the server list under Servers. Locate the entry for the Crystal Reports Job Server, select it and invoke the context menu using the right mouse button. Select Destination and add Email in the list of the possible delivery options. Configure the connection data for your SMTP server and restart the Crystal Report Job Server.
