End of project markers

Hi
i read some of the post here regarding this and I believe i need to hit option-z then find the purple triangle. Problem is, i only see blue triangles. Is this the same?
I have a 8sec track which i cropped till it's 3sec. When I export it out, the removed part is gone (good) but it is now replaced by silence; the track remains at 8sec.

I see the ribbon now, but when i "export song to disk" the track is still 8 secs long. Anyway, what i did was i "send song to itunes", then the track becomes 3 secs, like what i adjusted the yellow ribbon to.

  • Error -049 again while trying to publish / end the project... make a .mov file

    Facts:
    Lion, Internal 1TB Hard disk, over 600 gigs free, all data on the HD internal.
    45min video, about 20gb of data, music included from itunes and i photo.
    When clicking on ending project it takes 15 hours and the error 49 occurs. Can not publish the video ?!?
    I just want my video saved in one file in hd (as it was shoot) for burning on dvd and watching on my tv.
    What is this error... I am not the only one.. Can they fix it please...?

    If you are going to burn a DVD, which plays back at a size smaller than HD, you probably want to output to the Large size. Try this:
    Go to Share Menu > Share to Media Browser (choose Large Size) > then when it finishes the export quit iMovie
    Open iDVD then click on the Media Button, then the Movies button, and look for your project name in the Media browser window listed under the iMovie star icon. Drag that project into your iDVD Project window and burn the DVD. Large size while it is smaller than HD is much closer in size to the final DVD frame size, which is something like 720x480 pixels wide and tall. Try Share to Media Browser at Large size and see if you still get the Error -49.

  • Audio cutting out at the end of projects.

    I upgraded to iLife 09 (iMovie 09)
    I have encountered this problem for the second time and I can't figure it out. I am pretty good at figuring things out so I am confident this is some kind of glitch. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue or possibly a resolution.
    After doing a bunch of editing on a new project the original audio from the video cuts out towards the end of the movie. This happens when you preview or export the project however the music files and sound effects work fine. The other odd thing is that if you pause the project and restart it (only in preview mode) using the space bar the original audio works fine.
    This issue has been going on for a while and it is preventing me from publishing my self proclaimed masterpieces.
    Can anyone help?

    Well I hope that is the not the case half of my project is at 75% (the presets are 25, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800). Heh... I wonder if they are aware of this issue? I will let you know once I edit the project and see if it plays... It is gonna take a while If I want this to be watchable lol.... Is there an easier way to match up music?

    The system should be setup with Accrual Method on Receipt (not on period end).
    On PO shipments of Goods line type you may enable the check box - Accrue on Receipt. This is mandatory for Inventory destination and a default for Expense destination.
    When goods arrived from the supplier you enter a receipt transaction. That receipt transaction will get accounted and sent to SLA and GL.
    The process PRC: Interface Supplier Cost have several parameters. You can select to interface PO Receipts transactions into Projects Costing. You would select to interface invoices as well. The system will check if the receipt transaction has been interfaced to PJC. If so, only AP variances will be imported from AP to PJC. If the receipt transaction has not been interfaced to Projects, then the entire AP invoice will be imported.
    Another option is to always interface receipt transactions to Projects, and from AP to always interface only the variances, regardless if the receipt transaction has been already imported or not.

  • Problem setting project end point (can't access the end point marker)

    I can't seem to set my project end point because the slider control that adjusts the spacing of the measures is obstructing my pointer from being able to click on the end point marker. Any hints as to how I can move the coation of this slider control so that I can access the end point marker with my pointer?

    THe End-of-Project Marker doesn't change at all. What you see is a change of the Mouse Pointer.
    This is called a "Click Zone" where the Mouse Pointer changes to different shapes when moving over or click on an object or an area in the window.
    Here the Mouse Pointer changes to "Trim Tool" or "Resize Tool".

    It is the same Tool wne you move the Mouse Pointer of the right edge of a Region to resize its length.

  • Remote Control settings for Markers

    The user manual for Studio Pro 4 states that Remote Control settings for Markers will override all other settings while that part of the track or story plays.
    This however, is not the case- In my project the track & story settings for Remote Control>Menu are actually overriding marker Remote Control>Menu settings, & I really need the marker functions to take precedence over other functions.
    Any idea how I can make this happen?

    As Jake said - I am not seeing this behaviour either.
    If you clear all end jumps from chapter markers and place the markers into stories then you set the menu call for the story. This can be different to the track and depending on which you are playing the menu call for that item will take precedence.
    Of course, if you really want to make it bullet proof then you could point the menu call to a script. Assuming that no matter which story you are in, or how you got to the marker in the track, the following script will always return you to a specific button on a menu for the marker that you have just played

    Jump Menuname, [GPRM0]
    SPRM7 is a system parameter that checks which marker has just played. The first line of the script loads the value of this into a memory slot called GPRM0. The second line operates a jump to your menu - I assume there is only one menu here - and using a conditional GPRM based button jump, the value of GPRM0 fills in the value of the button to go to. This saves writing out lines of code for each possible button.
    If you have lots of menus then this script can be adapted very easily to cope with that, or you can set up other scripts to identify which menu you have come from so as you know which to go back to.
    However, before any of this I would want to know why you are not getting the expected behaviour on our project - my guess is that there is going to be a menu call set into a chapter marker which is over-riding the track or story menu call. If you have end jumps on markers, or menu calls on markers, remove them.

  • Monitoring of materials used in projects

    hi,
    we use projects for construction projects..
    at start of projects, we have list of all materials needed for the project (from estimating department)
    during the project, materials and qty have changes due to variations and wrong estimates
    at the end of project, the actual materials used is different from initial estimates..
    now what i need is how to best maintain/monitor/track the materials at the beginning, during and after the project in terms of variance and change in materials and quantities..
    any input would be appreciated..

    I understand your response on the plan version, but rather than a plan version, have you considered a project version.
    I have used this technique before when I want a snapshot of the project at the time of release so that I can compare changes to the dates at time of approval (effectively my baseline) against the current scheduled dates as the version dates would not be able to be changed or rescheduled.
    I did not have material ordered from projects so I cannot say whether the material/price is also captured in the version snapshot.
    You may need to develop custom reports to read the project version that is stored to compare against the current active/operating version.

  • VBA - Setting Custom Fields For Sub-Projects Using a Master File

    I was wondering if anyone had any experience or could provide some help with a Macro to set the Custom Fields in Sub-Project Files directly from the Macro. I had this macro working in the past with Project 2007, but it has been a couple years and I am struggling
    to resolve an error. I am currently running Project 2010 with SP2. I intend to use this Macro in our Server 2010 environment, however at this time, I'm testing locally on my desktop.
    Scenario.
    I have a Master File with 2 sub-project (Project A, and Project B) inserted. While working in the Master File, I create a custom field title "TEAM Lookup". While in the Master File and without having to individually go and open, edit, save, and
    close each sub-project, push the custom field down to the project files.
    ERROR: Currently, the Macro will run and I can step through the lines of code until line 12 where I'm asking Project to use the organizer to shift the newly created custom field from the Master File to a sub-project. The line appears to
    populate correctly, but instead of continuing through the loop, an error is caught (ID - 1101 - "The File (Master File) was not found")
    Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    SGBlaine,
    Project VBA can get rather fussy about some things so you just have to find out what it wants and then adjust your code accordingly. The following will work:
    Note the tweaks to the custfield variable and to the MASTER and source project names. Also when working with strings in VBA it is a good idea to eliminate at least one little gotcha, the need for exact capitalization. Therefore I always add the Option Compare
    Text statement. In your macro it won't make any difference since you do not directly create a string value, but it's good practice to have the option.

  • Closed Project Window Stays Open

    I have one project out of three where this is a problem.  I can end the project but the window does not close.
    I am using Captivate 4 and I have gone to preferences and changed end of project to be Close Project. Even at that, the last slide wants to keep going. I want it to freeze so it can be read. I put a button on it to stop the slide and then had to put a dummy slide at the back to close the project once the viewer hits the Close button.
    On the other projects, I can just let the slide fade out. Why does the window stay open? Is there a solution? I could not find this listed in the forum but was sure this was an issue in versions 2 and 3 as well.

    Indeed, that is the new behaviour. You have to make a selection, before closing the window.
    The new GarageBand does not quit, when closing the main application window. This way you faster switch between projects. You do not have to quit and relaunch.
    If you want GarageBand to quit, use the quit command ⌘Q instead of closing the main window.

  • Markers in the Timeline Sequence

    Hi,
    I am now cutting again on FCP Studio and discovering how great the program is once again. While there are things AVID does better, I do find FCP has grown so well in the last few years. good to be back.
    This brings me to the subject of markers - and there use within FCP.
    Now I'm used to locators on an AVID (please bear with me), which allows an editor to mark the timeline sequences as well as the clips. Nothing different in FCP.
    However I have noticed that an editor can mark the Sequence timeline and leave notes for themself or for future work such as scoring e.g.
    But this isn't the same for clips.
    Yes, markers can be added to a clip with readable info but only at the capture stage.
    If you were to add a marker after that stage, the marker is just a position tool and nothing more. In fact, a dialog box can be brought up and info added but then with NO WAY to read it.
    how strange.
    As an editor, being able to add markers to clips during the editing process would greatly help. notes for cutting, or dialog snippets would help aswell.
    Timeline markers do not help since we recut all the time and the markers don't move unless they are done so manually. It isn't feasible to ask an editor to move hundreds of these things.
    So unless someone has a great work around, I'd love to see Apple add this functionality to FCP.
    Any thoughts anyone?

    If you mark up a clip in the Viewer, and then drag that clip into the timeline, the markers will be there. As long as that sequence is in the same project. If you drag the clip onto a sequence that is in ANOTHER project, markers are are still there...BUT, when you match frame, you match frame to the clip on the drive, NOT the clip in the browser of the other project, thus the markers will not show up in the Viewer.
    In a way it makes sense WHY it happens...because clips dragged into one project cannot find the original in another project with a keystroke. Thus a small drawback to the multiple project workflow.

  • Project 2010 timeline

    I am trying to print out a timeline between specific dates only.  I have set the dates in the print settings, set the paper size and orientation, all the normal things, but timeline still will only print the whole period from start of project to end
    of project.  This then leaves me with only being able to select the specfic pages I want.  The problem is that where the timeline I set up would fit on one page only, it now covers 3 pages, 1/2 of one page and about 1/2 the third page.  If I
    set it to print on a specific number of pages, it prints the whole time line again onthat number of pages.
    Is there a setting I am missing to be able to print timeline between dates, in the same way as I can print a Gantt chart only between specifc dates?

    Thank you for the clarification of your question.  I tried what you are asking about with the same results you are getting.  I also would like to see the ability to have a date range filter applied to this view.  Since none is available
    and the dates when printing do not affect the print selection, I think your only choice is to remove what you do not want printed from the view. 
    When clicked in the Timeline View the Existing Tasks button will allow you to refine what is displayed in the view.  You might consider creating a customized field which indicates sections of your project.  Then remove all tasks shown in the Timeline
    View, filter your tasks by project section or date range, select those tasks and add them to the Timeline View. 
    I hope this helps. I believe you have run into a capability restriction in the software but this work around might do the trick for you.

  • Working with Forte Projects

    In my workspace called Parent, I have created a project called Logger.prd and have specified the Project Directory as Parent/Logger/Debug. The Project Type is User Makefile Application. The Makefile Target directory is specified as ./ (dot-slash) to be relative to the Project Directory. After saving the project, I go to the Build tool which shows the correct target directory, and I define a macro for this target.
    At this point the target builds fine, in the correct directory.
    Now, I derive a new workspace from Parent called Child. It has the same directory structure, thus has a directory called Child/Logger/Debug. I copied Parent/Logger/Debug/Logger.prd to Child/Logger/Debug. Then I Open the project Child/Logger/Debug/Logger.prd and change it's Project Directory to Child/Logger/Debug, select APPLY and save the project. I go the the Build tool which shows the correct target directory (Child/Logger/Debug), and I define the macro for this target.
    At this point the target builds fine, in the correct directory (Child/Logger/Debug)
    Now it get messy.
    I close the current project and open the project Parent/Logger/Debug/Logger.prd.
    At this point, if I go to the Build tool, it shows the incorrect target directory.....It shows Child/Logger/Debug instead of Parent/Logger/Debug. If I build the target now, it will write to the wrong directory.
    If I select Project->Edit Project, it shows the corrector project directory (Parent/Logger/Debug). If I select APPLY, the Build Tool will now show the correct target directory (Parent/Logger/Debug), However, it lost the macro previously defined to the target.
    What is going on with the Build tool and it's target directory? After loading a project, Workshop should use that project directory for the Build Tools Target directory.....it's associated with and defined by the project.
    This worked correctly with Workshop 5. With the Workshop 5 worksets, we could a workset in one directory, hit the build hammer, and it build to the correct directory. Then we could load a different workset by the same name in a different Workspace, and with one button, build to the correct directory.
    So why with FORTE, do we have to go back and APPLY the Project Directory so it is reflected correctly by BUILD, but then have to re-add the macros? A one-step process, is now a 5-step process, which if you are not careful, could wipe out the executables in the wrond workspace...

    Welcome to the forum.
    What do you mean by "shell merge" other than merged webhelp?
    Merged webhelp merges at runtime so at the authoring end each
    project is unique which means the RH reports relate to just one
    project. No way I know of getting RH to report across the whole
    merge.
    If you are using source control, you don't need merged
    webhelp to allow different authors to work on different topics. The
    rationale for merged webhelp would be delivering different output
    combinations to different end users.
    Bring all the projects into one though could be interesting
    if there are cross project links as their relationship would
    change.
    If it ain't broke, don't fix it seems like good advice.

  • Blank Page at the end of the report

    In my report i did not have any pagebreak or section break.
    But some times i am getting extra blank page at the bottom of the report .

    Hi,
    It is very probable that you are have unncessary space somewhere before the end of your template.
    Use Ctrl+Shift+* to show the end of line markers and remove the unnecessary spaces in your
    template then run again the view report.

    to the skin.swf of the appropriate file. To no avail. The next
    project will not open. Thinking that perhaps it was because
    Captivate 3 publishes to a new file, I dumped all of the out put
    files into one big folder. This did not work either. I am stumped
    and would greatly appreciate some help.

    I am using Captivate 3, creating linked projects to use for
    training. If I publish using Flash 7, I get the following error as
    it attempts to open the next project:
    Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation.
    The following local application on your computer or network:
    D:\\TCStart.swf
    is trying to communicate with the Internet-enabled location:
    D:\\TCStart.htm
    To let this application communicate with the Internet, click
    Settings.
    You must restart the application after changing the
    settings.
    Ok. I don't get this because MY settings are correct but
    anyone accessing the project gets these.
    So, I tried it using Flash 9 setting. When linking two or
    more projects together, it just stops at the end of the first one
    and doesn't continue.
    Any suggestions?
