[Enterprise App] - How to push app out if user cancels update

I am using Mac OS X Lion Server's Profile Manager to push updates out to my iPad app users.
When the user is prompted, "The server is about to update the app blahblahblah" he or she is given the choice to Update or Cancel.
If the user presses "Cancel" there doesn't appear to be a way to push the app back out, even using Lion Server's "Update" function for the device.
How do I do this?
Thanks!
D

Update:
I should have clarified that the App (as well as said theoretical device) is associated with a Device Group profile.
It does seem as if this might be a bug in Profile Manager. Profile Manager is aware that the device refused the app update, but using the Update function on the device doesn't properly sync the app back to the device.
Looks like the best way to handle this is to add the app to the profile for the device itself (which I don't otherwise use); have the user accept the app; then it's safe to remove it from the Device Profile so long as the device and app remain associated with the Device Group profile.

  • Pushing Enterprise App to different user or goup

We have setup Mac OS X Server as part of our iPAD deployment through profile manager.
We are trying to push our enterprise app to different user through profile manager, which has different version.
Like Version 1.1 to one user or group and 1.2 to another user or 1.3 to our testing ipad.
For some reason MDM only sees all version as one application and start updating all ipads as soon as we upload the .ipa file.
It erase the old version and keep the new one.AS we want to keep both.
App has same bundle id from our developer team.
Please help is there any work around to overcome this situation?
    Thanks

PM only keeps one version of the app
Once you update, all users groups etc get whatever version you've updated to
You might need to create a second app with a different name etc for testing

  • My server is sending SPAM - how do I find out which user(s) are sending it?

I just received a notice from my ISP that some SPAM was sent by my email server. He included samples of the spam. Unfortunately I can't find any info in the spam to tie it to an IP number that would help me find if one of my users is infected.
I think I have the SMTP set so that it can only be used with authentication. We have had this set up for some time now (over two years at least) and this is our first instance.
I'm concerned that one of my users on a PC is infected and using their smtp authentication to send this stuff.
Any advice on where to go from here?
I have included the results of postconf -n to see if I have any configuration problems.
    Thanks.

  • How do I find out the user name on my iPad?

Apparently I have two accounts on my iPad.
    1) When I tried to sync my purchases from the iTunes Store from my iPad to my (brand new) iMac I got a message that 18 of my 40 couldn't be synced. I needed to authorize my computer. Well, I only have one account, or so I thought.
    2) When I tried to sync my "info" (address book, etc) I got the message, "the information on the iPad is synced with another user account". That IS news to me.
I did try logging out and in with my three email accounts but nothing. I really don't know. I was looking through the settings pane on the iPad trying to find information on who this mysterious account is. Any suggestions? I c o u l d delete everything but I'd rather not. I'd like to learn how to remedy the situation instead of take the easy way out.
    Cheers,

I had similar problem and found out eventually I had an old account under an email long since gone. Try to remember any old email addresses you might have had another ITunes account associated with.

  • How do I lock out outside users

I went through the beginning set-up but how do I make sure the WEP is on and working? Please HELP!!!

A few things you can do to ensure WEP is on and working, and also to keep others out:
First off, if you go to your Network system preference pane, double-click on "AirPort' when "Show: Network Status" is visible. Click on the "AirPort" tab, and you should see "By default, join: Automatic". Click the pulldown menu and select "Perferred Network". You should now see a field with your perferred networks.
Go one by one and click the "-" button to delete them all. Click the "Apply Now" button, and turn AirPort off from your menu bar. When you turn it back on, you will now no longer automatically connect to your network. When you try and connect again, you should be prompted to re-enter your password. This shows that WEP is working.
If you, however, selected to save your AirPort password in your Keychain, you may need to delete that preference (Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access).
You have two options to, essentially, make sure no one but you goes on your wireless network: Closed Network and Access Control. A closed network means that your network name will not show up in your AirPort monitor. The upside to this is that no one who doesn't know your network exists can access your network. The downside is that anyone you want to connect to your network must type in your network name exactly, including your WEP/WPA password, if turned on.
Access Control allows you to control who can go on your network and who can't. This is specific to MAC addresses. The upside to this is that if someone who isn't on your control list tries to access your network, they will receive an error and not be able to connect. The downside to this is that to allow someone who isn't on your control list to connect to your network, you have to enter their MAC address manually.
Both of these features can be found using the AirPort Admin Utility.
Remember: Overall, wireless networks are pretty secure as long as you have at least a password preventing unwanted users on your network. However, no security is perfect.
    Hope that helps.

  • I just installed Mozilla Firefox 3.6. This is the first time have have installed Firefox. My problem is I no longer have the screen which lists which plugins need updating and researching. How can I find out which plugins need updating or researching?

After installation it told me to update or research several plugins. I updated Silverlight and JAVA. I was instructed to shut down and restart my computer to test the JAVA installation. I did this and the installation is fine. At this point I no longer had the screen with the list of plugins that need updating or researching.

THis is probably the page you saw.

You can also access it from the Firefox menu by clicking "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins" and then clicking the Find Updates button at the bottom.

  • Update Apps don't clear from Update list

After updating an app in iOS7 my iPhone 5 still shows the updated app in the Update listing, but with an Open status.  How do I clean out the Update list after all updates have been successfully applied?

It appears that this is by design!
With iOS 7, you are no longer a slave to the constant need to update your apps. John McCain should be totally happy.
With this new automatic update feature, though, it might be nice to see what’s been updated lately. To do that, it’s just a quick trip into the guts of iOS 7. Here’s how.
To figure out what’s been updated, as well as when it was last updated, you need travel no further than the App Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Tap the App Store icon on your Home screen, and then hit the Updates button in the lower right-hand corner. You’ll then see apps that have been updated, sorted by the date they were updated. Pretty neat, huh?
You may see some apps that have not yet been updated. You might have automatic updates turned off. To turn it on, navigate to your Settings app, tap on iTunes & App Store, and then toggle Updates to ON.
You may need to wait a bit for the updates to start happening, but now you’ll get your apps updated without any input on your part.

It makes the license available decrease. So, how can i find out the user ID that i previously deleted? Or any method to retrieve the correct number of license originally. ?

  • How to find out the user from the Jobs queue in Report server

    Hello All!
I have a doubt about finding out the user from the scheduled jobs queue. Say I go ahead and schedule a report on Reports Server how can I find out the user name. When I view the jobs using showjobs I could see that the DBMS_JOBS table has a column under "Job Owner". But it invariantly shows it is "rwuser". So is there a way to find out which user has scheduled which job?

    USER_ADDRS
    USER_ADDR
    USER_ADDRP

i think you need email address .
you can use this Tcode : su01d
and give the user name and excute it

  • How to find out which user has the permission to execute startsap ?

    Hi All
How do I find out which user has the permission to execute the startsap and stopsap? Do I control the permission on those script using windows standard authorization? For example: only allow certain user have the read and write permission?
    Thank you.!
    Vincent Lo

Well to me this is really weird question..
<b>noone un-authorized should have access to OS on your system</b>
If this is valid you do not need to solve problems who can and who cannot start/stop SAP, because if you want to prevent some users from shutting down the SAP you have really hard job to do - there are many ways how to kill the SAP (for example killing relevant process from task manager, killing of database, messing with services etc.) - yes, this is harmful way of stopping SAP, but we are talking about attack, right? I would contact some Windows specialist to help you disable all the ways how to harm the running SAP. But still after that - there are many files that can be modified/deleted so SAP will crash after restart - you need to protect them too, etc.
In case you take the first assumption as granted (and you really limit access to this server) you do not need to worry who can stop or start SAP - at the other hand it may be handy to be able to start/stop SAP from other users - for this you can run the stop/start script "under different user".
But to answer the question - to me this is question just of access control (but really never tried that myself):
<a href="http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/c6413717-511e-42bd-bd81-82431afe4b2a1033.mspx">Permit or restrict access to a snap-in for a domain</a> (or see other related links down there on this page)
Please award points for useful answers.

How can I  find out whether USER-EXIT is active or not ?
I set a break-point at these points and nothing happens
if I want save my daocument ???
    Why
    PERFORM USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT.

    Ilhan

    Hi Ilhan
The easiest way, I guess, is by going to transaction SMOD, sticking in your enhancement name and pressing the test button.
When placing breakpoints, don't use <b>Breakpoints > Breakpoint at > Statement...</b> and enter
    PERFORM USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT
because you won't get any hits since the function module names are stored dynamically.
Rather use <b>Breakpoints > Breakpoint at > Function Module...</b> and enter
    USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT
for a better chance of hitting the breakpoint.
