Equium A100-549: Blue Screen error during Recovery CD installation

Hey,
I recently purchased a Toshiba laptop, everything worked perfectly until my laptop was attacked. I got rid of the virus and went to reformat due to lots of problems occurring. The main one being a error has accursed and "Blah Blah" program needs to close. Also i kept getting loads of errors.
http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm
Them types.
Now then the Toshiba reformatting disk said simply put the disk into the CD drive and turn off. I did this, great. The toshiba disk said press F12 upon starting and click run the CD. The CD fires up and gets half way thro reformatting.
I suddenly get a blue screen error. I thought oh well ill reboot and carry on. This is where the problem started. Because i was half way thro deleting/reinstalling windows i was missing some files. I go to reinstall or try to use the Toshiba CD I get a blue screen error.
0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
(Click to consult the online Win XP Resource Kit article, or see Windows 2000 Professional Resource Kit, p. 1548.)
Requested data was not in memory. An invalid system memory address was referenced. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop message, as may other hardware problems (e.g., incorrect SCSI termination or a flawed PCI card).
Any ideas what i can do? I don't want to send the laptop back to Toshiba to fix however im thinking this is the only way out.
Please if repplying try to keep technical lanuage to a minnium. Many thanks, Dan.

Hi
Its very strange because the installation from the Toshiba recovery CD should works properly and without any Blue screen messages.
Usually if the BSOD appears if there is a serious software problem or something wrong with the hardware.
I dont think that the software on the recovery CD could be corrupt.
Did you try to install the OS from original Microsoft Windows CD? It would be very interesting to know if the blue screen will also appear.
However, I think your notebook is new and the warranty is valid. In my opinion you should ask the Toshiba service partner for the help because the guys could start the diagnostic test and could locate the fault.

I bought this laptop a month ago and I have a serious problem with 3d applications, 3ds max and video games. I receive a blue screen saying
    Error message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER
    nv4_disp.dll
    STOP: 0x000000EA (0x8408E6B8, 0x88D33F60, 0xBAF7BCBC, 0x00000001)
(hope i noted down correctly) and it says something about "that this device caught in an infinite loop)
I downloaded the latest drivers for my nvidia display Forceware 84.68 (GeForce Go 7300, 512ram)from Toshiba but nothing changed. Any suggestions ? What is the problem? the performance is really good until the blue screen appears, so i don't see why this happens...
The laptop came with windows xp media center edition.
    Thanks in advance.

Did you ever get an answer? When i took my laptop home, the first thing i did once it was setup was test various 3d programs, because i bought it to do my 3d work on as well as having something mobile for work. I got that stop error, called toshiba and was told to uninstall and reinstall the graphics driver. Sounded like a fob but i did it anyway, and it had no effect. It seems like there's nothing i can do as Nvidia says they don't support it, it's a toshiba problem, and toshiba swears it can't be their fault.
I used to see it on my desktop (before it went to computer heaven) until i updated the driver (a new one came out), and then i never got it again. From what toshiba tech support told me, it sounds like they won't be updating the driver for the go 7300 as it's regarded as too old? I'm pretty disappointed as my search of reviews of the product never revealed this flaw.
One person who i talked to advised me to disable Hardware Acceleration, but wihout that i might as well saved money and gotten a cheapy graphics card. The price difference between a notebook with this card and one with the onboard intel type was huge.
The first notebook i bought had a faulty dvd drive and i returned it for this one. I cringe at the thought of calling toshiba again and having them tell me to return it to them as if it was a hardware failure, when it sounds like a poorly written driver is causing the STOP.

  • Blue Screen Error during starting Windows Server 2008 R2 (VM on Hyper-v WinSvr2012) Using a Physical to Virtual (P2V) VHDX.

    Hi There,
I'm trying to migrate one of my physical Windows Server 2008 R2 to Virtual Environment (Hyper-V on WinSvr2012).
(The original physical machine had multiple partitions on the windows HDD and 2 other boot able OSs where installed on 2 of those partitions ...) So anyhow,  After heaps of trouble shooting and fixing the boot records, it finally started booting the
Windows but when it got to loading C:\windows\System32\Drivers\Classpnp.sys
and it crashed, a blue screen poped up saying "A Problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer ... ) and then system got rebooted automatically.
I have tried chkdsk, also tried copying a new classpnp.sys to replace the old one but no hope. I don't think is not a damage file issue. Not sure, but it is probably related to changing the HDD devices or SCSI/IDE controllers?
    Any idea?

    1. You have placed your problem in wrong forum. Address your problem to Server forum instead.
    2. I do not think it is liable configuration. I have not heard about migration of multiboot HDD. Try to split it. Pay attention to better preparation. I would expect separate target VM.

  • Error during recovery -- Windows installation cannot proceed

I have a Satellite A355-S6925, and I tried to reset my computer by pressing 0.  Now I'm getting this error.
The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error.  Windows installation cannot proceed.  To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, then restart the installation.
Now what?  If I click OK, it just ends up back at the same error.

Never mind, I got it.  I just held 0 again to start it over.

  • Blue Screen error message after using Rescue and Recovery.

Good morning - I unfortunately had to use the IBM Rescue and Recovery feature to restore my factory settings.  However, now my computer is giving me a blue screen error during the startup process.  Unfortunately it is not on the screen long enough for me to get too much information from it, but I have been able to get win22n51.sys as being some sort of error message.  If I start the computer in safe mode it will load without the error.  If I use the safe mode plus networking it gives the error.  So I'm assuming it has something to do with the network drivers?
I would appreciate any ideas you all have for resolving/further diagnosing this problem.
    Thank you!

    Hello,
Perhaps this Lenovo knowledgebase article, "XP Crash: System may hang or restart with a previous version of the Intel PRO 2200BG Mini PCI adapte..." will be of help to you in resolving the problem?

  • Blue Screen Error on Satellite A100-920 (PSAA9)

    Hi
I had a blue screen error during normal use and after restart, Windows suggested updating the BIOS, so I updated it with the latest version (5.10). The next day, I got another blue screen and on restart, Windows suggested I update my display drivers, which I did (to ver. 8.241)... I have an ATI Radeon X1400 GPU. After doing that, the computer crashed every time it loaded windows, with a popup about services.exe telling me the computer would turn off in 60 seconds.
I assumed this was related to the display driver, so I replaced the drivers with an earlier-dated version (8.241-034065C). After I did this, it seemed to work and I could use the computer fine for a bit, even play games such as GTA but i am starting to get the blue screens again, usually just when opening folders, etc and not when running graphics-heavy applications. The problem definitely goes away when I disable my display drivers, but that's not much of a solution.
I turned off the reboot on error setting and this is the information from the blue screen of death:
    *** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005,0xEE6DF5E9,0xBAD2F99C,0x00000000)
    *** system32:huy32.sys - Address EE6DF5E9 base at EE6DD000, Datestamp 45abe717
Does anyone have any idea how I can sort this problem, it's driving me crazy!
I have downloaded the Omega drivers for the card, but am slow to install them as I hear they can cause overheating and I think ATI/Toshiba should be able to provide me with a solution without me having to use third party drivers.

I have Network Associates (McAfee) v. Enterprise 8. I ran a full virus scan with this and windows defender and a worm stinger utility and another microsoft app whose name I forget... all came up clean.
I tried the omega drivers out of frustration and they cause services.exe to terminate.
Could it possibly be a BIOS issue? I'm not sure how likely it is, since the computer definitely works with the display adapter enabled and will usually crash (BSOD) after anything from a few mins to a few hours with it enabled. I seem to be getting two types of reply from microsoft on restart, one saying there is a general driver fault and one saying there is a display driver fault and suggesting updating the display drivers.

  • Blue Screen error using Boot Camp when installing XP on the MacBook Pro

I have been trying to install Windows XP Professional (with SP2) on my MacBook and I keep encountering blue screen errors during the install. I successfully create the Windows partition with Boot Camp (v2.0) and then Windows install begins. However, during the setup process it hangs and then eventually throws an error showing a blue screen. There has been a different error each time I've tried to install. I've booted in OSX and then deleted the Windows partition through Boot Camp and then attempted the process from the beginning five separate times and each time I get an error during the initial install phase.
Its not a matter of the installation CD because i borrowed 3 differnt copies from some friends and i still have the same issues.
Once, I managed to actually start windows XP however it was full of errors probably as parts of it weren't properly installed due to the the blue screens that made me reboot several times.
Am I the only one having this problem??
Is this a matter of the hardware? Can you think of any possible solution?
(I used NTFS did everything propperly I'm 100% sure)(I tried FAT as well)(still nothing)
    PLEASE HELP

Can you read and write from your optical drive? I would have it checked by burning something to it and seeing if it can be read.
I have noted a link, with some information that may be helpful, for you to check out.

I would repair permissions before your next attempt too.
If this fails, I would contact Apple.

  • Blue Screen Error on Equium A100-549

    Hi,
I took home a laptop that faced a blue screen error whenever it was starting up. I was provided with the essential components and did a format using the recovery CD. Once it was complete, I took out the recovery CD as instructed then clicked exit. The black window said format complete and the PC switched off. When I try turn it on an orange light flashes on one of the LEDs and the PC doesn't switch on. Most of the text was in Chinese while it was working too (the owner's Chinese). I would appreciate some assistance.
    Thank you very much.

    Hi
According to your description I suppose that the LED flashes all the time if the AC adaptor was connected. Am I right?
I think there is a hardware malfunction and the LED provide an blinking code.
Unfortunately, I dont think that you can solve this problem by yourself.
In my opinion a technician should check the notebook. The service guys are able to read the code and could locate the fault.

  • Blue screen error (BSOD) during and after installation of Windows 7

I had to reinstall Windows 7 via the recovery partition. During the installation I kept getting Blue screen errors and even now I am still getting BSOD within minutes. I have no problem in safe mode.
My laptop is a Satellite C650D-12C. I wanted to update BIOS but I can't in safe mode. What should I do next?

Recovery image saved on HDD is tested so everything should be OK with recovery image installation.
What you can try is to use Microsoft installation disc to see if the same will happen again.
If yes, Im afraid you need professional help with this. Notebook has probably valid warranty so the service guys should check this.
    Have you created recovery DVD?
BTW: I think BIOS update is not solution. Recovery installation must work with this original BIOS version.

  • Recovery Problem - Blue Screen error (STOP: 0x00008086)

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite laptop and need to recover back to original state. I do not have Recovery Disks, however, I have followed the Toshiba 'How to' instructions (F8 then select Repair your Computer) it show the Windows progress bar then goes to a black screen for a while then I get a Blue Screen error (STOP: 0x00008086).
Is there any way to get around this?

    Hi
If the HDD recovery does not work then you need the recovery disk.
    Here you can order this.

  • Equium A100-549 wont boot properly

On the other day, my Equium A100-549 suddenly couldn't be booted. When the power is ON, there is no anything coming out on the screen (totally dark!). I have noticed the hard derive's light is not on, though the other lights are on.
I tried to boot with the recovery CD, but nothing came out, even F12 or "C" was pressed following the power on press.
I am suspecting that there would be a malfunction of the hard drive, but no any experience to judge this.
It would very appreciated for any advice.
    Cheers.
    Ning

    I'm sure it's not a HDD malfunction.
If the HDD would malfunction, then you would receive an error message that the OS cannot be booted up or something like that.
If you don't see anything on the display and if the Toshiba splash screen does not appear too, then I??ve got a bad news for you buddy.
In most cases the motherboard fault causes such issue. :(
But this is only a suggestion and maybe you are a lucky guy and a cheaper part instead of mobo could be faulty.
The ASP can answer such questions... therefore my recommendation is to contact the authorized service provider in your country and to ask for the notebook check.
    Hope the best...
    Best regards

  • Re: Equium A210-1AS - Blue screen and can't start it

My computer was working fine, i shut it down, the next time i start up it shows the windows loading screen, then for a second a blue screen flashes by, it restarts and repeats, i shut it down and started tapping F8 untill the advanced boot options comes up, safemode ect... none of them work and all lead to the blue screen, if i select the repair option at the top "Repair Your Computer" it begins to load with a vista background and cursor and then shows the error "The installed program cannot start. click OK to turn off the computer."
in Advanced Boot Options i try "Disable automatic restart on system failure" and the blue screen stays up so i can see it, it shows a usual blue screen error, reading:
    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
    STOP: 0X000000ED (0X85DDA600, 0XC000009C, 0X0000000, 0X0000000)
I do not have a recovery CD as i believe there is a recovery partition, but i don't know how to access this-
    I am using Equium A210-1AS
    Part Number : PSAFJE-005005KS
    Windows vista 32bit
    Thanks,
I know know the recovery partition is accessed theough "Repare your computer" but just shows "The installed program cannot start. click OK to turn off the computer." :/
    null

    Hello
In my opinion the case is clear: If you cant start the HDDrecovery feature (btw, its not a recovery partition!!!) using Repair my Computer option, you need the Toshiba recovery disk to reinstall it and get factory settings back.
Im wondering that you dont have a recovery disk. You didnt create it? So you didnt read the user manual but this should always be done before you do something with computers.
Anyway, you can order a new recovery disk here:

  • Satellite A300D-1EI - blue screen error - display drivers had failed

I 've bought my laptop a month ago.
Everything is working great except two "blue screen" errors caused by the graphics card.
Both were when the laptop was connected with TV through S-video port.
First was when the laptop display turned off after 15 minutes while watching a movie, on resume said that display drivers had failed and then I got the blue screen. Then I updated the display drivers from ATI's website and set the laptop display not to turn off.
All were ok with no problems, until last night when I got another message that display drivers had failed followed by a blue screen.
I am wondering if this is a driver's problem or is something wrong with my graphics card.
    System Info:
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T8400 @ 2.26 GHz
    Memory (RAM): 3.00 GB
System Type: 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium
Display Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470

So long you use ATI driver from ATI support page there is no possibility to say anything about it.
This driver is not tested and Toshiba cannot offer any help about it.
So what you can do is to install OS again using recovery media and see what will happen in the future. Please test it intensively with clean preinstalled operating system. Don't install anything that can have some negative influence to this game or additional applications, codecs or something similar.
Test it please and let us know if the problem persists.
When you want to watch movies on TV at first switch to the TV and then start DVD player.

The drive i a sandisk cruzer with u3. Wondering if anyone has experience with this or knows of a solution - uninstalling u3 is not ideal.
[updated 2008-11-04] I've done some quick tests to try to isolate what's causing the problem. I tried another flash drive (with u3) and the same problem occurred. However when I disable the u3 launcher the problem does not occur.

  • Satellite P20-771: Blue screen error message after OS reinstalling

    I have a laptop Satellite P20-771 / Pentium 4 3.40GHz (800/HTT) / XP Home/ 17' with nVidia Geo5700 driver.
As I had some problems with software, and I reinstalled everything using the provided CDs. Unfortunately the computer keeps malfunctioning giving me blue screen errors, that are due (this comes out when I sumbit the error to Microsoft) to device drivers. I updated everything (I hope) from the Toshiba page, but I am not an expert and I am worried that I missed something or that something has not been loaded in the right order or that the setting are incorrect.
Thank in advance for your help
    Roberto

    Hello
I have also P20 (red one) and have never had any problem after using provided recovery media. According to your posting there must be two possible reasons for blue screen:
    1. you have installed some additional software that causes bluescreen or
    2. there is some hardware component responsible for that (new memory module or maybe some external device connected to the unit)
Sorry but I dont see any other reason. On this way it is not easy to give precise answer and we can just speculate why this happen.
