Error in asset management config area

Hi
I got error in asset management configuration area error is ASSERTION_FAILED. How to rectify this error, if any one knows please post the solution.

Can you give what you are doing in config and the long error text with error number

New GL Environment - Asset Management - Depreciation Areas

Hi Folks
My client currently is on 4.6C R/3 platform. The asset management configuration for Depreciation Areas is such that the area 01 has been assigned to Local GAAP postings and has Real Time Posting flag set to yes. Area 20 has been assigned to IAS, but without Real Time Posting flag.
Going for New GL, the question is does SAP allow Leading Ledger (0L) to have a depreciation area (20 in our case) which is not configured for real time postings while allowing Non Leading Ledger (say X1) to have a depreciation area (01 in our case) which is configured for real time postings.
If SAP allows this, it is OK, we just migrate as it is.
If not, we need to swap configurations between the two depreciation areas and do a de-facto re implementation of AA module as a precursor to New GL migration.
Also, keeping this issue in mind, would it be better/ advisible to go in for New GL migration sometime middle of a year?
Any thoughts/ experiences/ advice on this situation?

You can use derived depreciation area concept and can post to different ledgers.
One limitation is that the formula which you give is always 60=01-20 and not 20-01. Here 01, 20, 60 are depreciation areas. 60 is the derived depreciation area which is a standrd delivery.
You are not clear whether are you posting to 20 periodically or not? Or it is for only reporting?.
Assuming you are posting in 4.6C and want to continue the same, you can do so by the derived depreciation area.
You may be needing to configure your system for periodical posting (ASKBN) and you need to use FB50L for postings to specific Ledger or ledger groups. If you want to post all the ledgers same value but for the depreciation, you can use the old transactions.
you run your scenario in sand box and test your self before come to a conclusion.
The scenario what you are referring is a standard functionality.

Asset management solution

Hi everyone.
I'm currently outlining and storyboarding a (perhaps overly ambitious) project on modern cosmology. It will consist entirely of found media. I've now gathered about 600 or so images, a very large number of publicly available lectures and interviews (audio from which will be used as the narration), movies and animations and computer simulations, as well as music, of course. All these assets currently live, unprocessed, in different places. The images are in iPhoto, the lectures and movies are in a single folder in an external HD, etc...
After finishing the broad outline of the film and ordering my general concepts into a linear narrative, I expect to hit a bit of a snag. I need a way to manage all of these assets together in the same place, to attach descriptive text to each piece of media, and to organize it all in a way that will let me group different types of media together.
For example, for each lecture (most of which are about an hour long), I'll be taking snippets of audio from different places in the lecture, and editing them into different places in the film. I want to be able to go through each one and extract my chosen snippet and save it somewhere I can annotate it and group it with the relevant images and video.
I have never undertaken a project this big, and the asset management needs are markedly different from my projects in high school where I just dumped everything in FCP's bin and dragged what I needed into the timeline. In order for the narrative to emerge as coherent and well-woven, I'll need a way to assemble and organize and play around with synthesize all these hundreds of disparate pieces of media well before opening Final Cut. Or, perhaps are FCP users who have undertaken a similar project with lots of found media and think that FCP's bin/media manager are robust enough to meet these needs? Unfortunately I can't figure it out for myself just yet because after backing things up with Time Machine for the first time, FCP is now asking me to reenter my serial number which I've (hopefully temporarily) lost and am trying to find.
Anyone have advice? Please let me know if I can clarify anything else about my project and needs.

Monitors Showing 2 and 3 times in Asset Manager

All IBM's we have show 2 and 3 monitors in device manager. I believe it is
caused by the display adapter. There is no way to permanently delete the
monitors. The problem is that because of this all 3 monitors also show in
asset manager. Is there anyway to delete these in asset manager?

Are these monitors being detected with serial numbers?
If so, are they identical serail numbers or different ones?

Fixed asset Write up Error. ABZU(Parallel depreciation area 32 is not poste

Hi Sap Gurus,
      I am running into an error when trying to post a write up via "ABZU". Here is the error message "Parallel depreciation area 32 is not posted". Message no. AA565.
Diagnosis
The asset to be posted does not manage parallel depreciation area 32, or transaction type that you are using is limited to certain depreciation areas, and does not contain depreciation area 32. This is incorrect.
System Response
Posting is rejected.
Procedure
Check the asset and the transaction type.
I tried "Limit Transaction Types to Depreciation Areas" in t-code:OAXE for derpeciation area 01 and 32 but still i am getting the same error. I am using ttype:700. When i look into derpeciation tab in asset master record i have depreciation area 32 is there. Is there any configuration piece i am missing. We are using area 32 as IFRS in group which is copy of 01.
Any help will be appreciate.

Hi,
There are the following reasons:
1) The wrong transaction type is being used. Please verify that you are using transaction type in the 700 series for your write-up.
2) The transaction type is restricted to certain depreciation areas.   In transaction OAXE the transaction type can be restricted to post only to certain areas. If the asset manages a parallel area you have to extend the posting to include the parallel area.
3) The asset was created before you introduced parallel currencies and does not manage the parallel area. In this case, the parallel area must be created on the asset or the values need to be transferred to a new asset that manages the parallel area.
4) Transacion types 600 and 601 can only be used for assets that have a calculation key in their depreciation area that allows no automatic calculation (for example depr key MANU). The unplanned transaction types however can be used with assets that allow automatic calculation.
You also need to verify that there are entries in Table ANLB for the asset in question for the depreciation area.
5) Your company code uses parallel currencies (currency types 10-co.code currency, 50-Index based currency, 30-Group currency...for example). The assets created in this company code must have the depreciation areas for parallel currencies active. You can only do this in activating the depreciation areas with parallel currencies for all the asset classes used in this company code.
Check transaction OAYZ to make sure the areas are activated for all asset classes in the co.code. If not, you will need to       activate these areas and ensure the asset has all areas assigned.

Change fiscal year to 2006 in Asset Management : error in year-end closing

SAP version: 4.0B
Transaction Codes used: Year-end closing AJAB, Fiscal year change AJRW
We are trying to change the fiscal year to 2006 in Asset Management.
I tried to change the fiscal year to 2006 for the company code 0055 using transaction code AJRW. The test run has displayed an error message Fiscal year change in co. code 0055 1 possible only after year-end closing 2004 2.
I have used the transaction code OAAQ to find the out the fiscal year, the closing for depreciation area is successfully performed.
Unfortunately it is still showing 2003 which should have been 2004 for company code 0055.
I tried to close the fiscal year 2004. The test run has completed successfully. I have scheduled the RAJABS00. The program has executed successfully with no errors or warnings.
The closing for depreciation area (Transaction OAAQ) is still showing 2003 for company code 0055, which should have been changed to 2004.
I am new to Asset Management. Can you please give some suggestions on how to fix the problem and change the fiscal year to 2006.

I have used transaction OAAR to check if any area is still open for previous years.
Surprisingly! The areas are closed only till 2003.
Can you please let me know what to do (transaction codes - programs) to close the areas for fiscal year 2004.
I am new to Asset Management. I think you are good in Asset Management. Can you please give some suggestions on how to close the fiscal year 2004.
Can you please let me know if I have to run any other transactions other than closing the areas before running the transaction to close the fiscal year 2004.

I am finding eAM to be pretty interesting in the asset intensive environment. My implementations in shopping mall, metal and plastic manufacturing are quite interesting. It simply depends upon how you configure the system. It is a good package in my opinion

Error during asset transfer: No depr areas for receiving revenue

when I am posting an asset transfer transaction [Inter company transfer with transfer method 2: Net method] and simulating, I am getting an error message stating "No Depr areas for receiving the revenue". Kindly help me solve this error.

I am posting the transfer from with revenue details as NBV from depr area 01, and using the transfer variant as 2 [Net Method]. Still it gives the same error.
I then try posting a manual revenue and again it shows the same error.
Finally, I use No revenue option, and it accepts. do not why this is happening?

Asset Manager Demo v1.1 Error during install

Installing Asset Manager 1.1 to Apex 3.2 on Oracle 11.1.0.6.0
All supporting object scripts run OK except for one.
The error reported is:

Urgently need help! I've read several other Forum messages having a related problem but none having same Install error message.

Errors defining the destination for SQLAssembler inside data-management-config.xml

I am following the LCDS ES sample at
http://localhost:8700/samples/#sqlassembler
for defining a destination inside data-management-config.xml,
there you can define SQL
statements that can be referred to from MXML
I am having the following error:
'Error in SQL for 'fill' in destination 'sql-product'.
Matching pair of # tokens not found'
And the statement it is referring to, from within the
data-management-config.xml file is:

<sql>SELECT * FROM MYTABLE
WHERE SERVER_ID = #SERVER_ID#
</sql>
I do not understand the # syntax, and how can it be used
universally? for example, setting the value of LIMIT, or variables
in WHERE statements

Server Manager error 0x80070422 - Roles and features are not accesible

I cannot view Roles and Features in Server Manager on my Server 2008 R2 box. The error is:
Unexpected error refreshing Server Manager: The service cannot be started, either because it is disbaled or because it has no enabled devices assicaited with it (Exception from HResult: 0x80070422)
I have looked at my services - but don't know what service to look for, everything seems to be in order.

Please try to install Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 directly and check the result. Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2008 R2 includes all the
previous released Windows Updates and hotfixes.
If it does not work, you will need to copy these files from another working Windows Server 2008 R2 system to replace the corrupt ones.
Otherwise, you will need to perform an In-Place upgrade to repair the system.

Error while Asset settlement

as i have transferred last year internal order balance to the new internal order in this year.
and when i was running th Ko88 for AUC to main asset settlemnt it gave me below error.

Diagnosis
According to the specifications for transfer variant 5, depreciation area 02 should be transferred gross. However, the recieving asset 1100 1000008-0 does not manage this depreciation area.
Procedure
Check the transfer variant and the receiving asset.</b>

i have a below complex situation.
user has posted value to IO and they settled it to AUC in last year but they did not settle it to Main asset.
so anyting they have settled to last year to AUC, now it needs to be settled to Main asset but it is not allowing me to do that and shooting me error that ''First settle items from the previous year in the previous year"
so how can i settle AUC amount to main asset which was settled in last year?
please help
