Error in ni visa control out for usb in labview 2009

Hi,
I am using labview 2009 in which i have made a vi which communicates with a pic controller through USB interface.
the vi is working fine in labview 8.6. I tried it in two PCs. but when i run that vi in a PC with labview 2009 then the VISA CONTROL OUT.vi gives error "0xBFFF003E : Could not perform operation because of i o error.". while the control in.vi works fine in both the labview versions and any other PC that i tried.
I have run the application in total of 4 PCs with same set of cards/interfaces. two of them having labview 8.6 are running fine and giving no error but other two with labview 2009 are giving error.
and it doesn't stop here.... i searched in the vi and did some experiment and found that when i give Request value input to control out.vi as "0x36 "(as required by my PIC program) then it is giving error but when i give other value such as " 0x35 or 34 or 55"(used for other purpose) then it is not giving error.
Can it be a PIC programming problem? (i dont think so as everything is fine in other PC with LV 8.6)
I have already explored the ni forum for this error solution but could not find helpful.
Can anyone solve my problem?

I installed labview 8.6 in that machine and made a small program with only 3 vis (visa open session, visa close session and visa usb control out.vi) which is working in LV 8.6 platform.
Sorry the above statement is not correct actually.
When i run the program in LV 8.6 it giving that same error but this time it is not displayed as pop up window. so i could not judge that error was still there.

You should be able to use this document's Digital Output section to see how to modify your VI:
Transition from Traditional NI-DAQ to NI-DAQmx in LabVIEW
It looks like the rest of your code can stay intact if you just replace your Traditional DAQ VIs with DAQmx VIs.

Where can I find VI Description & usage for VIs in Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\vi.lib\variable

In the the said folder are many VIs. They are all part of the NI_Variable.lvlib. However there is no help or description (context help just shows the terminals and names) for many of these VIs. Where can you find more 'help' on these VIs, the block diagram is password protected.

If there is no detailed help in the LabVIEW help, or on ni.com, you will probably need to ask about specific VIs for more detailed information. I would first search the LabVIEW help and the website, however.

How can I compare more than two VIs at a same time in labview 2009

How can I compare more than two VIs at the same time. I am an Lab Engineer I have to check assignments submitted by students and I want to know how many of them are copied from each other. Labview compare VI can only compare two VI at a time while I want to check about 30 VIs at same time.

I'm not aware of a tool to compare multiple VIs. If you don't find anything, consider posting this to the LabVIEW Idea Exchange to expose this idea directly to NI R&D.

Has anyone had troubles with VISA(GPIB) control and using USB?

I am having trouble controlling a GPIB machine using VISA controls. I am using a USB GPIB cable and the software. But I get errors when I try to use the Intstrument drivers (ex HP4194A) VISA control. If I change to GPIB commands it works fine. Am I calling the unit wrong? Not sure how to get it to work.

I tried that and I get the following error
in NI spy Status 0xBFFF00A6
error out -1073807194
with IDN? I don't get the equipment info, but get some hex code.

USB device name not shown in VISA control

Dear All,
I'm trying to control a lighting controller unit which used as a configurable power supply for a LED light panel.
The model is TMS Lite TMS-LC-15-4CH-A1.
It is not a popular device i guess so it doesn't have a labview driver like Agilent, GwInSTEK etc.
As usual i install the usb driver and demo software then i'm able to control the device using demo software.
Then i open my labview 2012 and select a VISA open, i created a VISA control and i expect the device ID to be shown for me to select. (Just like what i usually do for most of the agilent devices).
However this time it does not shown.
I'm stuck and i really hope someone can help.

Is it possible that the demo software you got to work isn't releasing the COM port resource? Have you tried rebooting the computer, and then looking in MAX and the VISA control for the COM port? Doing this after running the demo software may prevent it from being found if the demo software doesn't release the resource.

VISA is primarily used to communicate with instruments via GPIB/TCP-IP/Serial/USB. In order to use easily VISA with an instrument over USB the instrument must adhere to the USBTMC spec. A camera is not likely to have this. Otherwise you have to use USB RAW, and that requires detailed knowledge of the data that is transmitted by the instrument. Manufacturers rarely give this information out. Normally they will provide a DLL to communicate with the instrument.
Thus, in your case, VISA is not going to be an appropriate API to use for a USB camera.
Out of curiosity, what prompted this question?

Yes this is what I do, but still receive "Insufficient privileges to write to that location". So I am forced to use normal file system to be able to continue.
After that I run into the current problem saying OMS configuration failed (see details....) and I try:

Visa Control grayed out when executable used with Run-time Engine

When I run an executable on a machine with only the Run-time Engine the Visa Control for Com Ports is grayed out. I'm guessing that I am missing a library, but do not know which one.

You need to install the VISA run-time. If you are just using VISA for serial communication, then there is an option on the app builder (Installer Settings>Advanced) for Serial Port Support. This will add a much smaller version of the VISA run-time engine to the installer you create. If you are using GPIB, etc., you have to install the hardware driver (i.e. NI-GPIB) and the full VISA run-time engine.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I'm guessing this error is out of the Coding Block check for Controlling.. ie the function call COBL_EX_CODINGBLOCK_CHECK.. put a break-point inside this function call & verify if any settings are missing..

Does anyone have problems with their mac having a Medium-write error? Mine is totally out of hand... I have wasted countless CDs, I've purchased the Mac CDs, and I have tried to minimize the burn speed... The problem continues, and I need this for work.

My mac keeps saying medium-write error, and it's become out of hand. I've done all the suggested things to prevent it, by buying apple CDs, minimizing the burn speed, and restarting my computer... I need to burn CDs for my job, and I am a firm apple supporter... This is just out of control it took me 90 mins to finally burn a CD, because I had to go through 10 other CDs... HELP.

I doubt they're any better than anything else.
I may have an Apple CD-R around here somewhere...

It does not matter what I plug in to the USB post, the results is the same ...
U use external hard drives, memory sticks (new and my old memory sticks), I also use an external cd / dvd writer LG Portable Super Multy Drive
They all run for ± 1 min then it loose contact and I get error messages like, error code -8062 or PowerPC applications are no longer supported..... etc

Hello,
I am running a process that currently catches an exception from a partnerlink. When the exception is caught I send an email and the process exits. When I submit a request from the BPEL console, I have to wait until the JTA timeout before the page returns. However, the instance completes successfully and I receive the email before the timeout happens. This is what I see in the logs. When I look at the audit and activity flow, all of the activities were timestamped prior to the exception being thrown. Has anyone seen this behavior or know what is going on. Is there a problem sending email in a catch or catchAll block?

There is no issue the reason why it times out is because you don't have a reply back to the client in your catch all.
If you look at your process you will see that the defaul reply is in the main scope. When the catch all is invoked this reply is by passed, therefore no reply is sent.
PLease a reply in your catch all back to the client and it will work.

No control line for line item - error while posting bd to accounting

Hi all,
Billing document showing err "no control line for line item" while posting to accounting doc.Sales document is complete no in completion logs.
Previous errr: g/l missing for line item" in order incompletion after maintaining company code for customer, then refresh the g/l missing for line item is no more logs and showing the error "no control line for line item" while posting bd to accts.

Hello Anush,
if the company data of the payer was not created when the sales order has been created, then the system could not create the correct records in table VBREVK. Once the company data has been maintained the VBREVK records could be corrected by re-saving the sales, but only if no billing document exists.
In your case you already created the billing document.
Please try these step:
1. reverse billing document
2. run VA02 add a blank char to PO number, save
3. create new billing document
