Error in Query/Report results

Hi
I my report in columns i had a structure with 12 elements each for Month based on Restrictions on Current Cal month variable and Offsets.
So when user executes reports in columns it will be displayed as
MAY2009,JUN2009,JULY2009....DEC2009.
my requirment is to enhance that report so the results in columns which are by month to by month and by week
So In query in columns in included 0CALWEEK under the structure
When i executed the report it is giving me some odd results
For Example:
For Month JUNE2009 in weeks it is displaying 18.2009----52.2009
All the week cell are empty but it is only populating values for the weeks in that months
How can i resolve this
I checked 0CALWEEK advanced settings

Report Error When Getting Report Result

Hi,
I am running a "SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)" report and one of the items is a LOV which has a long list. I get this error.
report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
The query string to be returned is VARCHAR2(32767) and it seems like the LOV is too long.
Any advice? Thanks.

This normally occurs as per the Report category type.
By default the report category type is set to "RPT0". Therefore, when the application is launched, the reporting category type is also sent as URL parameter to the backend system.
Please check if you are using customized reporting category type.
Please check Iview property defined in the portal. Check in the content admin under manager's role > iviews > HCM > LPA reporting > Check here for the scenario that you are using if this is the same.

Opening Excel Report results in 'Errors were detected in File .....'

Dear Professionals,
Ive an Excel report that upon openning produces the following error.
'Errors were detected in file 'T:\Customer .......'
Excel proceeds to strip out the ALL the Query Tables from the report discarding them due to integrity problems as described in the original error.
Query Table 'ExternalData_2' on '[xxxxxx Report - April FY14_v1.12.5.1.xls]SoldTo' was discarded due to integrity problems.
The query tables are connected to an 2010 MSAccess db on a networked drive. The file was created with Excel 2013 on a virgin machine, no add-ins are active. The file is saved in Excel .xls (2003) format.
While the error seems to only make cosmetic changes, the data seems intact. However it is an confidence issue for the end user to encounter such an error as these reports go to external customers.
I've circumvented the error by converting the Listobjects to Ranges prior to saving the file but I'd like to get to the root of the problem please.
Ive looked at disabling the office validation feature, however this is short term local solution that didnt seem to work and not practical going forward.
Also seemingly related, when compiling the report in Excel 2010 it randomly crashes at the point where the .Save method is executed (locally or to network). This crash disappeared when the report was compiled with Excel 2013. I've also not experienced
the crash since the Listobjects were converted to ranges when compiling in Excel 2010.
Any help / pointers would be most appreciated.

Are you using Office 2010 RTM version? If it is trial version or beta version, I suggest upgrading it to the RTM version.

Main Query modification result Report builder crash [Solved]

Hi,
I want to modify main Query of report builder because (it shows two columns which are not generated by query and when I run report it raises error that columns not found) but when I modify the query it result in report builder crash, plz give me any solution, I had experience same issue a month ago and I created new query with all formula columns but this time I have too much CF and CP columns is there any way to drop it from one group to another.

Financial Reporting Exception - Error executing query: java.lang.Arithmetic

Hi all,
I'm using the Financial Reporting Studio 11.1.2.507 to develop a report to a planning application, so i'm using a planning connection to do it. This report involves some calcs and i have sure that is possible generate a divide by zero. But what happen is: I started developing this report using the user admin and no error message was shown. Then when i tryed to acess this report with a user other than the admin user the error occurs: "Error executing query: java.lang.ArithmeticException: / by zerojava.lang.ArithmeticException".
So, have you seen this scenario before?
Could you help me with this issue?
p.s: if i wasn't clear enough, please tell me!

Thanks a lot for your quick response. The error message appears when i acess through the workspace. When I was developing I was acessing with admin user (FR Studio) and now I'm using other user to test the report in the workspace. I've commited a mistake when i thought that the user point of view that I defined when i was developing would be applied over all users. So, when I opened the report with a user other than the admin the error ocurred because the default attributes resulted in a empty resultset or something like that.
Is there a way to define a user point of view (pov) for all user at once?

I think this is something to do with the bex web 0ANALYSIS* objects not being installed in your BW system.
I would try and do the following:
- Goto RSA1 > BI Content > BEx Web Template (BTMP)
- Then double-click on Select Object.
- Highlight all objects that start with 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN
- Click on Transfer Selections, and then Install.
If you can't do the above in prd, do it in DEV, then transport the objects to prd.
After all this, try re-running your queries.

Error executing Query - Workspace report error.

One of our user is getting "5200:Error executing Query" message while running the report in Hyperion Financial reporting workspace,how ever if I run this report with my login on his system I am able to run it.
Could you please put some flash on it what may be the reason behind the same.

Hi, in general the 5200 error means that the user cannot connect to run the report.
What this means is that the user either doesn't have:
- the necessary Workspace permissions, or
- the necessary data source permissions to run the report. This can either be correct essbase permissions or perhaps the report uses a member they do not have access to see.
I think from memory there should be a Details button on the error message which the user sees which should provide more detailed information. Can you confirm and reply back?

FR reports error-5200: Error executing query

I'm working on FR-11.1.1.3.0238 version. i'm facing issues with some of the reports related to planning application db while launching reports in workspace. Where as the reports are opening with out any issues in FR studio and there is no error message recorded in the studio.The error message is recorded in the workspace related log file.
I thought that there might be any pov corruption issue so i ran the ManageUserPov utility as well but there is no luck.
Let me know the cause of this error message and also the resolution for it.

Neeraj,
In the FR report server the settings are as you suggested except the TcpTimedWaitDelay = 60, this setting is set to 30.
The same settings are there in Essbase and Planning servers.
So i would like to know what exactly is all about the setting and the possible cause of the problem. It would be very helpful if i can get the cause.

Error Opening Reports (Cannot find Dimension Scenario, Error executing query: the member null doesn't exist in this application)

Hello,
two of our users get the following error message, when opening two specific reports:
First Report: Cannot find Dimension Scenario.
Second Report: Error executing query: the member null doesn't exist in this application.
Other users can access these reports, and the same users where the problem occurs can access other reports in the same folder.
I set the same rights for me, but i can access the reports without problems.
Somebody encountered the same problem before?

I had the same issue a few weeks ago... not sure how it happened but it was related only with my username.
In order to fix it:
1. I created a report which does not require to select the scenario in advance. Try to use the default data-grid that you get when you first create a report for example.
2. When the user runs the report, try to see if he can see the dimension. Do not use the missing dimension on rows or columns. If he can see the dimension, ask him to select one scenario. This will solve the issue.
3. If he cannot see the dimension, try to change the layout of the report.

Results in Query Builder Differ From Report Results

I've got a report I built in SSRS using an SSAS dataset. The problem is that the results differ between the query builder result set and the actual report. For some reason, when running the actual report, certain rows are being filtered out, but yet those
same rows appear in the result set when validating the query in the query builder.
Here's the result set as it appears in query builder:
...and here are the results of the actual report:
As you can see, 3M and Angie's popcorn are not returned in the report. I have no filters defined on the report at all.
This appears to be happening with other result sets for the same report.
No idea why the results are accurate in query builder and then off in the actual report.
Any help would be appreciated!

The issue may be caused by the data cache. When we preview a report, the report processor runs all the queries for datasets in the report using the current parameter defaults, and saves the results as a local data cache (.rdl.data) file. We can continue
to design our report without incurring the overhead of retrieving this data again if we make no changes to either the report dataset queries or the report parameters. Please to delete the cache (.rdl.data) file try to solve the issue.

Alternative, you can create a similar report to check if the issue is persist.

Error - DRG-51030: wildcard query expansion resulted in too many terms

My searches against a 100 million company names table on org names often result in the following error:
DRG-51030: wildcard query expansion resulted in too many terms
A sample query would be:
select v.* --xref.external_ref_party_id,v.*
from xxx_org_search_x_v vwhere 1 =1
and state_province = 'PA'
and country = 'US'
and city = 'BRYN MAWR'
and catsearch(org_name,'BRYN MAWR AUTO*','CITY=''BRYN MAWR''' ) > 0
I understand that is caused by the presence of the word Auto to which we append a * . (If i remove the auto the search works fine).
My question is - is there a way to limit the query expansion to only , say 100, results that get returned from the index?

Users will always use city or postal code when searching for a name. When I run this query -

is there a way to include and search for the city name along with the org name?

Crystal Reports 10 Error "Unknown Query Engine Error"

Hi guys,
after creating reports with crystal reports 2008 fails,because there's no 64-bit runtime version i try to develope my reports now with Crystal Reports 10 (ships with Visual Studio 2008).
I've minimized the complexity to a minimum - a simple console application without SharePoint or something like that. Now i'm getting the error:
"Unknown Query Engine Error"
when i try to set the DataSource for my report. Of course i created a new report file with CR10 to avoid compatibility issues. Every Users has full permissions on the file system...
I'm using the follwing Code Snippets, which are working fine for Crystal 2008 and don't threw an error while compiling in CR10.

Resolution:
This Version of Crystal Reports (Visual Studio 2008 .Net) doesn't want the crdb_adoplus.dll in the GAC. After i uninstall the *.dll the Console Application run without problems. For SharePoint you have to create a custom CAS which should look like this:

Critical: LDAP: query DNS result DNS Hard Error looking up e

I am not having any luck when trying to connect to all 3 of our LDAP Servers...I get this error in the logs:
Critical: LDAP: query DNS result DNS Hard Error looking up MyServer.Mydomain.com (A): NXDomain
It is open through our Firewalls. I don't even see the Test Query reach our Firewalls...any suggestions what I am doing wrong?
We were using Surfcontrol and it worked fine... :?:

In Surfcontrol I put the IP without the DN and the query returns all the users.
In IronPort when I put the IP without the DN and do an Accept query using my email address in the Recipient Address I get the above error.
