Error logging on to Pantone Tech Support

Every time I try to log on to Pantone's technical support page I get this:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method stdClass::convertToCookie() in /cgi-bin/pantone.cfg/scripts/euf/application/rightnow/optimized_includes.php on line 320
What is wrong?

  • OWB 10gR2 Does not support DML Error Logging

I've just had this confirmed by support.
So Oracle's key ETL tool does not support 10gR2s key ETL feature DML Logging.
So far set based loads on large volume databases you are going to find yourself being tripped over into row by row processing.
    I find this staggering.
    Has anyone else found this?

Oracle has come back to us saying that
"DML error logging feature is not supported for distributed DML."

  • Error Message - hope forum can help Adobe Tech Support BLOWS

When opening Acrobat Pro 8.2.1 the following error message pops up
" A serious error has been detected and Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro cannot continue"
"Please reinstall the application and try again"
Where to I go from here?  Tech support kept me on hold for 40 min - spoke to two people who took my info and email put me on hold and finally disconected me.  Adobe customer support is a shameful excuse for assistance - thier website is only a few steps behind that.

  • Does Adobe have a tech support contact for Flash on browsers?

I am looking how to escalate to Adobe Tech Support but paying 29 bux an hour for some recruited college Grad that knows to little doesnt suit me.
Bought an HP Quad and it had Win7 home so poorly installed, configured, overloaded with junk, would not backup, when it did backup and create a repair disk they wouldnt restore.  HP's preloaded Win7 build both IE8 and Firefox were crashing with both BSOD and Browsers not responding and dying. Firefox never responds to anything, Microsoft indicates is an add on problem but I think it can be a flash issue although it occurs much more on Wiin7 (ANY Version) for 32 or 64 bit.  I have been screwing with this for a month screaming at Microsoft and Mozilla but its a waste of time.
Microsoft forums are polluted for Win7 browser BSOD and Browser halting then crashing posts, there answer is disable add-ons.  I cant surf the net without add ons so that is a stupid reponse of finger pointing, giving appearance that Msoft, Adobe and Mozilla dont communicate.  No company will take ownership and drive the issue to find the root cause and where ever that cause is make them fix it, Msfot, Adobe of Firefox.   so what do ya do?
The HP PC with horrible preload of win7 finally died and killed the build but Microsoft was equally useless in helping me repair that preloaded junk even though the OS is theres.    I BOUGHT real disks because HP couldnt support the mess - HP couldnt support chewing food let alone the mess they place on PC's with 90% asian parts with old drivers.   Eleven escaltions starting on DAY 1 of ownership of a Pavilion.  Hundreds of crash dump error reports sent to Firefox has still gone unresponsed, as they employ the 5th ammendment ,method of silence without support and Msoft remove all add on is laughable but proves HP. Firefox and MicroSoft wont assume responsibilty.
This sucks as all three gloat and boast about a HIGH levels of support and awards won for support but it is all myth, and laughably a lie but I still want it repaired.   28 years in IT - retired I feel qualififed to make the observation.
I never attempted to contact Adobe but I get redirected after seeing the warning about 39 bucks an hour to answer a phone for a freeware add-on.
Does anyone know of have a escalation path to a real person at adobe or department beause tthis site redirects from the ASK Adobe Support link meaning I cant even mail a question to then,  Already a BAD sign but the driver is free, but they wrote, and millions are having issue so where is there support -  Why bother writing  the addon if people cant even ask a question.
So does any know if they support the flash add-on without charging?     a Glitch they might want to know about is flash 10.0.0.1 shows in Win7 Event logs as version 0.0.0.1 and I have logs showing that an addon report from the DEP (Data Execution Service) saw an add-on go to a non executalbe memory region whenthe only add-on I have is flash.
Google for IE8 Browser Crash 566,500, Win7 Browser crash 1,500,000,  Firefox crashing 587,000, Firefox flash crash 1,420,000, Adobe flash crash 1,820,000,   are 4,615,500 google posts found for one issue and I know there are more than that failing but Im sick of the whole thing so adobe is my last gasp.   Please respond if you have a fix or path to escalate to adobe.
    Thanks.
What a mess that no company so far stands up willing to take ownership of this just to find the root cause.

I don't have a definitive answer, but I would guess you won't find a tech support service dedicated to the Flash Player since it is free software and customers apparently have problems getting tech support for the products they buy.  But here are a couple of things worth considering.

  • Snow Leopard fails to install - Tech Support and Genius Bar can't fix it

I am having an exceedingly difficult time installing Snow Leopard. I have tried everything I can think of and tech support AND the Genius Bar have failed me so far.
    The Details:
Every time I install SL it starts off well but sometime between 18 minutes remaining and 6 minutes remaining it fails. I get an error message that says there was an error that prevented installation. Looking in the installer log gives me a little more information. It usually has 15 or so errors, the last of which is always a very long line saying some package failed to install/unpack/be copied. The odd thing is that the file name is different every time.
    So far I have tried:
    Repairing the disk and installing
Installing from a different install DVD
Installing from external hard drive at the Genius Bar
Installing using RAM borrowed from the Genius Bar
Wiping the HD completely. I erased all my partitions and tried to install on a completely blank hard drive with a single HFS+ partition
I can only think of a few things that can cause the install to fail: DVD, optical drive, RAM, files on HDD, and HDD hardware. I think I've eliminated all those possibilities except HDD hardware. Changing that on a MacBook isn't trivial and I don't have one handy. Also I would think a HDD problem, or any hardware problem, would cause all sorts of errors and with the exception of this the machine has no serious problems and apps crash only occasionally. I've had no system crashes for as long as I can remember.
I have a Time Machine back up and have successfully restored my old Leopard System onto the MacBook (twice now) so at least I have the option to just give up on SL if I want to. As an aside, restoring from TM went well but not perfectly. Next time I install an OS I will be making a disk image backup. Does anyone else have any ideas? If you solve this problem I'll be eternally grateful and very impressed.
    Thanks in advance
    Jay

I'm sorry. I should have answered when you asked about RAM the first time. I have 2GB. I have tried installing with that, and I tried installing with RAM at the Genius Bar. I don't know how much the guy used at the Genius Bar.
Last night I restored from time machine so I currently have Leopard installed on the machine. After the restoration my email archive is little strange, I had to re-authorize iTunes and various other annoyances pop up but it runs without any problems.

  • Frustrated - Multiple issues with Fios TV/DVR - need advice on dealing with tech support

I have been a Verizon Fios customer since Feb. 20th (all of two and a half weeks).  I signed up for my bundle on-line around 11am on the 20th, and had a technician out for install within a few hours on the SAME day.  I thought that was impressive - and I was looking forward to having a more reliable and fast internet connection than I had been experiencing with Brighthouse.
The technician who installed was very friendly, and although he had some issues (apparently, there was a Verizon box in this house before us, but someone ripped it off the wall, so they had to run new wire all the way out to the street) the install went pretty quickly and smoothly.
The first few days went along without a problem, and the internet was great.  Some of the functionality of the DVR was less than I'd hoped for, but some of the other features were great.  I had a glitch trying to set up my online account, but I used the online chat feature to work with tech support and she was able to correct the issue.  We noticed a couple times in the evenings that the TV would pixelate - but it only happened a few times and was very brief.
On Sunday the 26th, our real issues started.  The live TV started freezing, then having a liquid-like pixelation problem, sometimes no sound.  We tried to watch a recorded show from our DVR list and received error messages stating that we didn't have DVR.  We called Verizon tech support and a very rude person reset the box several times and apparently even reinitialized the box and the result was that the box wouldn't even turn on anymore.  He said that he'd have a new box shipped out to us and that it would arrive by Tuesday or Wednesday.  My husband got on the phone at that point and suggested to him that since we were brand new customers (less than a week) and that since we had service installed on the very same day that we ordered it online, that certainly they could have someone bring us a new box on Monday morning.  The technician told us that he would transfer us to the billing department because we could probably just cancel the service.  We were both dumbfounded.  Especially considering that he had been rude from the minute he took our call, and while we were obviously frustrated, we were never rude.  We were eventually transferred to someone in billing who said she had never heard of such a thing and that she could not help us unless we wanted to cancel.  While this was going on, I had unplugged the box again, let it sit for several minutes, then plugged it back in - and the tv worked.  And the DVR worked. We assumed that maybe something the tech support guy did had worked after all.  Well, it worked until the next morning.  We had error messages saying we had no DVR.  A reboot of the box worked again.  After work, in the evening, it turned out that scheduled shows didn't record.  So, we called tech support again and asked for our new box.  We were told we'd have it by Thursday.
New box arrived Thursday and we set it up that evening.  Went through trying to get all of our recordings set up again and finally sat down to watch tv.  I switched to Showtime (which we are subscribed to in our package) and received an error that the channel was not available, press B to troubleshoot or call tech support with this code.  Pressed B, went through the steps and the channel came back.  Then, proceeded on to HBO, also part of our subscription - and we received the same error.  We pressed B and this time going through the steps did NOT correct - so we called tech support.  After working with the girl for over an hour, she finally determined that we needed to be switched to billing to have them remove our HBO package and then put it back on and that should correct the problem.  So, while we were waiting for billing to come on the line, we started flipping channels again.  Now, channels that had previously worked were now showing the error that the channel was unavailable - even non HD, non premium channels.  When the billing girl got on the phone, she said there was really nothing she could do with that being the case and that downgrading our package and re-upgrading it would do nothing - that we needed technical support.  She got us on the line with a different tech support person who said that we were obviously having signal related issues and that we needed a tech to come out to look at the wiring.  He scheduled an appointment for us for Friday.  That call took over 2 hours.
On Friday, the tech came out and spent time checking all of the wires coming in to the house - he said we had multiple splitters on lines that didn't need splitters and that this was likely causing a signal disruption and was probably the cause of the failure on both boxes.  He removed some of the splitters and apparently streamlined some of the wiring.  We still had the original box and the new box.  He hooked up each box and they both worked - all of our premium channels worked, DVR was good, etc. We boxed up the old box to send back, kept the new box and had tv that worked just fine for a few hours... then we started having the channel not available issues again.  And, now - we were also getting messages saying that we weren't subscribed to a channel - and this would range from HBO all the way to a non HD standard tv channel.  A reboot will work and restore function - for a while.  However - scheduled shows aren't recording - or record for 7 seconds and stop.  Or record for a while, then have a 20 minute gap in the middle where it's frozen, etc.  This has been going on since a few hours after the technician left Friday evening.  And, I have to say - when the tech left Friday - everhything seemed fine.  He had tested the signal strength - seemed completely thorough and was very nice.  I don't think he could have known, at that time, that the problem wasn't fixed.
We have not called back to tech support yet.  We're busy with our work and our lives and we're also frustrated.  I know it will take another several hours and don't have much faith that there is any resolution.  It seems to me that we probably need the whole house completely rewired - brand new - start over.  I'm thinking there's a bad wire in there somewhere.
This morning with my coffee before work, I tried to watch a tv show in my DVR list that apparently didn't record properly - no surprise (it froze and skipped over half the show).  So, I went to On Demand and found the show. (Without Bay News 9, I'm kind of lost with morning coffee, so I need a show of some kind)  It started to play and was going along just fine, till I received a CableCARD  (tm) Pairing Information is not available message.  I tried the auto fix in the menu, rebooted, etc.  It worked for a few minutes, then stopped again.  At one point, I got an error saying the set top box lost video due to a network connection failure.  Great, does that mean my internet is going bad too?? While looking around in the menu function, I clicked on the self diagnostics feature.  It filled in all the information, as I'd seen it do before - except when it got to the package description.  This time, instead of Ultimate HD, HBO, VOD, etc., etc (like I'd seen before). it told me that my package is: Arabic, Armenian, ART (Arabic), Extreme HD, HBO, Prime & Ultimate HD, Prime HD, RA, RAI (Italian), etc., etc.  Huh???  Really???
So, I'm not sure now what the deal is - would a signal issue cause my subscription package to change?  Do I get on the phone with someone at tech support for another few hours?  Are they going to send yet another box?  Are they going to come re-wire the whole house?  Is it worth it?  This is really ridiculous.  Do I cancel and go back to Brighthouse with my tail between my legs?  At least with them, I knew that my internet connection would be wicked slow at certain times of the day, but at least I knew it was coming and could expect it - and I could at least count on my tv and dvr recording my shows.
When I logged into verizon to vent on this forum, my account said that it was unable to access my DVR.  When I clicked on manage my DVR, it just says Bad Gateway.  Not a great start to our relationship, Verizon.
I really need some advice.  Should I stay or should I go?  And, if I stay - what is the best way for me to explain this to tech support so they will do the right thing and fix this?  And, what is "this" anyway?  Bad box, bad wiring?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Replied to private message with all information including name, address, phone number and account number.  Thank you.

  • How do I speak with someone from tech support for a issue??????

I have tried many times to download the correct software for my HP OfficeJet 7410 printer. I always get a error message. "THE SYSTEM CAN NOT FIND THE FILE SPECIFIED". ("C:\Users\R61\AppData\Local\Temp\7z611S7\Setup\..\Setup\Blocksysus...) What is that???. Their wesite is of no value to help me. In frustration, then I tried to buy the driver software. Again, they could not help. I used to be able to print. Using their website, I was able to test print and test scan. All is well with that, so why can I not print? I have two other computers that are connected and print fine. My laptop will not print. It used too. Why are my downloads of the correct software not allowing the install of software?

    JDMAN
The problem is likely one having to do with a previous installation failure or a minor corruption - a misplaced instruction, a bad link, something in the File System on the computer that is not where it belongs.
Regardless, the issue is not likely the fault of the Full Feature Software.  That does not mean the computer is bad, it means that there is situation present on the computer that the normal installation program cannot handle.  Programs are smart, but there is a limit to what can be done during a standard installation.

Option - Install from the Device Manager
This is an alternate method to install the Driver that may be useful under some conditions. In the context of this overall procedure, it is necessary to have at least downloaded the software from the Printer’s support pages (so that the software package is located somewhere on the computer).

  • An infuriating exchange with tech support

Since Verizon seems to have no higher tier than this to register concerns about service, I'll air my grievance here.
I few days ago, I began to have trouble logging in to servers hosted by a well known web hosting company. I've been logging in to these servers several times a week for more than a year. I figured that the problem was at the server end, so rather than calling the web host tech support, I just went about my other business, figuring that they'd probably notice something askew and fix it within a day or so. But, on the following day, I had the same problem.
I did all the usual stuff at my end, as in trying a different browser, clearing the caches on both browsers, trying a different computer and yet another browser, powering everything down and reseating all the cabling connections... all the usual things. Occasionally, I was able to log on for a few minutes, then the connection would time out or I'd get a "can't find server" error message as I would move from one task to another.
I checked with some team members that work on that web site with me (not Verizon customers), and none of them was experiencing the kinds of difficulty I was having (and yes, we all use the same login credentials). I called the web host and they said they were not aware of any problem at their end. After a fairly thorough discussion of the problem, they said it sounded like a problem with my isp. That would be Verizon.
Ok, so I call Verizon tech support, and I get this very nice gentleman who tried to help me. We went over the whole history of the problem, and even got the web host tech on a conference call. No joy. This goes on for a couple of hours, and as we all know, at a certain point you're actually going backwards in terms of troubleshooting. We reached that point. But that's not the infuriating part.
Things started to unravel when our attempt to create a new network connection failed. Lost my original network connection in the process, too, which gave me some consternation, but I managed to get it back after a few mumbled curses. On hold for awhile, and then the nice gentleman comes back and starts to talk about the fact that I'm running an airport extreme as a router for some of my equipment. It's actually a redundancy but it's definitely not the problem, since the machine I normally run doesn't even use that particular network connection. I'm a little frazzled at this point and do not appreciate this detour.
My time is not entirely without value, and during this troubleshooting session I received an email message from a client that needed me to address a task for them immediately. I told the nice Verizon gentleman that we didn't seem to be making any progress, I had work that needed to be done rather urgently, and asked if we could take a breather for awhile and attack the problem later with a fresh outlook. He asked me to hold while he spoke to his supervisor. Ok, I go on hold again.
After a few minutes he comes back and starts talking about my terms of service not allowing me to run an exchange server... which has nothing to do with me, and nothing to do with my problem. I find it troubling that after being on the phone with this gentleman for more than 2 hours, he comes up with something completely irrelevent to talk about, but you know when they start referring to your terms of service, they're trying to absolve themselves of responsibility. He might have had better luck if he'd said the terms of service did not guarantee access to a particular web site or service. It does in fact say that, but you know they only bring that up when they have no clue how to solve your issue, and they're done trying to help you.
That infuriated me. If you can't help me, fine fine fine, but don't keep me on the phone for 2 hours, doing increasingly absurd tasks, and then have some supervisor (whose name is purported to be {edited for privacy} Jimenez, and this call center is ostensibly based in Costa Rica) go rooting through the TOS to find an excuse not to deal with it any more.
I told him the nice gentleman that I know he tried to help me but that we'd run out of road, and that although that was frustrating, I wouldn't have been so annoyed if Mr. Jimenez (if that is indeed his name) hadn't suggested that TOS gambit... which wasn't even the correct TOS gambit.
So I'm now back at square one, and seriously considering other options for an isp. I'll continue to look for answers at this end, but I can't really use a service that can't establish and/or maintain a connection to a very common web hosting service (it's a top-of-the-line company, not Fred's super discount web sites or anything) that I need to access on a near daily basis. What I really don't understand is, what's changed in the last few days? Nothing has changed at my place.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent. I'm now going to look for an address for Verizon Corporate... sometimes they can goose people to find solutions to intransigent problems when no one else can. If anybody has the least clue of what this problem might be, please respond. And wish me luck!

  • All Airport dropouts: CALL APPLE TECH SUPPORT NOW!!!

I am using an Airport card in my iMac to connect wirelessly to the internet. My wireless signal has been unreliable since I bought this computer in November. I've tried new router settings, upgrading firmware, even bought a new router. I have spent hours on the phone with Apple Technical Support, have taken my computer to two different Apple stores for diagnosis and repair and am on my second erase and re-install. I told my latest tech guy that this seemed like a pretty wide spread problem with all the messages on these boards, but, according to him, it's really only a tiny fraction of all of the business Apple does. I find it to be one of the most disruptive and infuriating glitches that I've experienced because there is no good fix for it and because Apple clearly doesn't care to figure out what the problem is. I was even the one that suggested to my tech guy that I send him my log to try and see where the problem lies. Why has no one ever looked at my log! Yesterday's tech guy finally agreed to replace my computer. I'm not sure I want one. My eMac still works fine. Maybe I'll just sell the new one. Anyone want a new in box 20" iMac?

I have some information you can pass on to Apple Tech support, if you ever contact them again.
iWeb 1.0, from what I have heard, generally connected just fine, but 1.1 and 1.1.1 did not for many people, myself included.
My own publishing problem turns out to have been because I run a Squid Caching Proxy in my basement. I was fortunate enough to discover why iWeb stopped publishing. My experience is documented here: http://www.untergeek.com/?p=675
Having perused many of the "publishing error" -type posts in this forum, I can tell you that many have discovered that they are able to upload via dial-up or from another site via a different ISP. This leads me to believe that some ISPs block these new HTTP methods, causing iWeb publishing to fail. (The HTTP methods are ACL and DMMKPATH).
So the short version is that iWeb isn't at fault, per se, but rather that the disconnect is between the new HTTP methods and some ISPs performing some sort of filtering. I imagine that Apple's developers had no idea that these new methods could or would be filtered in this fashion.
Perhaps when they find out that this is occurring, they'll make a non-filtered work-around.

  • Apple Tech Support and the Publish Fiasco

This publishing issue has been something I have fought with from the moment that iWeb was released. It recurs every few weeks, and either resolves its self, or in the most extreme case the last time this ocurred, I had to delete my entire site from my iDisk manually, and spend 10 hours, and repeated attempts republishing.
I had contacted Apple Tech support, and gotten no satisfaction. They escalated the call some weeks ago. I was supposed to hear from an engineer and never did. That is what prompted me to go the extreme route of actually deleting my entire 860 MByte site and starting over.
I installed the iWeb update this morning, thinking that this problem would be solved. It was not. Looking around on this discussion board, I see an awful lot of similar comments. This has made me all the angrier since this is an issue that has been there since day 1, and not been resolved.
I very angrily called Apple technical support, and because I had reported this case multiple times in the past, I was escalated to a higher level support. I have been on the phone with Apple for the past two hours. The engineer ended up taking an extensive report from me. We tried several of the recommended procedures: check privileges on .mac, alter .mac allocation sizes, delete the assets.plist in the domain file, etc. to no avail. Finally stumped, the engineer sent me a program to actually capture a bunch of logs from my machine, as well as a network traceroute, in an effort to see what is going on network-wise in communicating with .Mac servers. He has promised to get back to me later in the week.
I STRONGLY recommend that everyone having issues with this get on the horn to Apple tech support, and immediately demand that the issue be escalated to the higher-level support engineers, especially if you have already attempted the various solutions offered here. If they are bombarded with support calls and people offering to dump logs and send to them, they will resolve this issue sooner than later (hopefully).

  • Help with Web Server error log entries.

I'm having trouble turning off logging of messages from the iAS plugin to
the Web Server error log. It seems to be logging "Info" class messages to
    the logs.
    For example:
    [24/Oct/2001:11:38:57] info ( 514): gxrequest.cpp:gxrequest() reports: End
    req /NASApp/wapp/index.jsp
    [24/Oct/2001:11:39:02] info ( 514): gxrequest.cpp:gxrequest() reports: End
    req /NASApp/wapp/PageController
    [24/Oct/2001:11:39:02] info ( 514): gxrequest.cpp:gxrequest() reports: End
    req /NASApp/wapp/PageController
    [24/Oct/2001:15:40:21] info ( 792): gxrequest.cpp:gxrequest() reports: End
    req /NASApp/fortune/fortune
Tech support just says "uh try this this this..." and hasn't been able to
stop the logging. They won't even confirm it's a problem (logging info
    messages to error logs...).
Has anyone else seen this or been able to stop it?
    Thanks,

These entries normally do not get shown. Make sure you turn off
    debugmode.
run kregedit and make sure iPlanet\Application Server\6.0\CCS0\HTTPAPI
    is set to 0
