Error message: Exception error within external code

I am getting an error message on running one of my vi's that uses DAQ.mx that causes labview to close it reads:
An exception occurred within the external code called by call library node. This might have corrupted LabVIEW's memory. Save any work to a new location and restart LabVIEW. "VI ......." was stopped at node OX19E4 DAQmx Start Task.vi.
The odd thing is if I put execution highlighting on the vi runs ok and then continues to run OK untill I close Labview and restart it.
Is anybody familiar with this error.

I've never come across this error before but looks to be a problem with the NI-DAQmx driver. As a first step, I would recommend unisntalling the driver and then re-installing (i would also install the latest version 8.0).
Funny how slowing the code down doesn't present the problem. let me know how you get on with the above.

It sounds as if you have a case of memory corruption. Which version of LabVIEW and DAQ (traditonal or DAQmx) are you running and also on which operating system?
would it be possible for you to post your VI on this thread? in some cases there are ways to fix the problem

Error "An exception occurred within the external code..." when stopping LabView

I am having an error "An exception occurred within the external code called by a Call Library Node...", see the attached image, when I am trying to stop LabView. As a result of the error, the tag engine doesn't close normally.
I am using LabView 7.1 with DSC. I read values from a LNS (LON) OPC-server.
Is this a known issue and is there any way to repair it? I haven't noticed any direct consequences because of the error except that when I re-start LabView and the close it again without having first rebooted the computer, tag engine sometimes starts again when it should stop. This is fixed by always rebooting the computer before restarting LabView. I am getting suspicious that there might be some strange behaviour because the error says "it might have corrupted LabView's memory".
For example, sometimes when I have made a copy of an input number field to another, they follow each other's value changes even though there is no connections between them.

Especially in earlier versions of LV these sorts of errors were common if the call wasn't made just right or the parameters were set up incorrectly.
Where did you get the DLL from? Was it written internally or did it come from another vendor?
Try building a DLL call into a very small, simple application. Do you see the same issue?
Are there multiple calls to the same DLL in your code? If so, is there problems with all of them?
Can you track it down to a specific function that you are trying to access that is causing the problem?
Is there any indication of a memory leak?
Finally any additional information you can provide would helpful.

After upgrading to AppWorld 3.1.0.56 error message "Exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" occurs, is there a way to downgrade back to the old version at this point.

RIM is aware of this issue and has yet to resolve it.
One solution is to downgrade your AppWorld.
First, delete what you have at Options > Device > Applications
(or on OS5, Options > Advanced > Applications).

Ssrs report web service to save report as pdf throws error Soap exception unhandeled by user code

I am creating a C# web application to save an SSRS report as a pdf file on my local machine.
I added the ReportService web reference as RS2005 and ReportExecution2005 web reference as RE2005.

I created the following function SaveReport that is called on button click. My report can be accessed on the report server with the following url:

On the Report Manager home page the report link appears as "SAMPLE LETTER".
It is deployed in the DataMgmt folder on the Report Manager.
It uses a data source called "DS Letter" with option "Credentials stored securely in the report server"
My application gets compiled, but I get the following run time error:
Error: Soap exception unhandeled by user code. The item '/DataMgmt/Sample Letter' cannot be found. ---> Microsoft.ReportingService
s.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: The item '/DataMgmt/Sample Letter' cannot be found.
Please check my code and let me know what I can do to run this successfully. Once this is done, I would like to get help with passing a parameter (memberID) to the generate report for that member, through this application.

After reviewing the whole post, I have a question to you. You can access the report via the link, http://myServer/Reports_DEVPROJECT/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fData+Mgmt%2fSample+Letter.
From the URL, I can see that the report is located at: /Data Mgmt/Sample Letter, instead of /DataMgmt/Sample Letter. In addition, I found that the target report is "/DataMgmt/Sample HAP Letter" instead of "/DataMgmt/Sample Letter" as the error described. I
am not sure whether you post out the correct code segment.
Please check the above things on your side, and hope it is helpful to you.

Do you also connect the external USB drive to the AC power as well while you use it ?
Sometimes USB external drive problems are resolved simply by plugging them into the mains power and trying again.

STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1) from EDQ director we have imported the EDQ_CDS,EDQ-REFERENCE DATA & EDQ_HISTORICAl DATA packages sucessfully.
2) Created dnd.param file in SIebel server SDQCOnnector folder.
3) Copied the libdnd.so file to siebsrvr lib directory(32 bit)
3) In dnd.param file we have mentioned the javalib file and instllation directory path(<Siebsrvr roo>/dnd/install)
4) Unzipped the EDQ-Siebel Connector files in dnd/install folder
5) Copied the dnd.properties file in dnd/install directory and modified it accordingly to point to installed EDQ instance.
6) Configured the Siebel components for EDQ integration.
7) Realtime EDQ jobs are running.
8) Create a new Account
Env details are
On : 8.2.2.14 [IP2014] version, Client Functionality
EDQ 11.1.1.7.4
IBM JDK 1.7 32 bit

Reset the SMC, as per > Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Unplug the computer's power cord.
3. Wait fifteen seconds.
4. Attach the computer's power cord.
5. Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
Then zap the PRAM/NVRAM as per > About NVRAM and PRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.

It's probably because of the way the html that's calling the applet is coded, in conjunction with the vendor (Sun or MS) and version of the Plugin/JRE. This will help you ger started with diagnosis:
