Error on Install on JRockit on Solaris SPARC, OS 5.8

ON attempting to install JRockit V5 Release 26.3.0 the JDK, 1.5.06 version for Solaris 64 bit SPARC I encounter the following error (in both console and silent mode)

dl failure on line 748Error: failed /var/tmp/aaaIoaiCj/jre150_06/lib/sparcv9/jrockit/libjvm.so, because ld.so.1: java: fatal: relocation error: file /var/tmp/aaaIoaiCj/jre150_06/lib/sparcv9/jrockit/libjvm.so: symbol _walkcontext: referenced symbol not found

Anyone encountered this. Or ideas as to what I can do to resolve it?

Looks like you are trying to install on Solaris 8 which isn't supported.

DeployWebGate is not created after installing OHS webgate on Solaris sparc

Hi frends,
I am having trouble installing an OHS webgate 11.1.1.5 on Solaris sparc 64 bit. The install goes through OK and everything looks like it works however I don't have deployWebGate folder in webgate/ohs/tools/ so I can't do any configuration.
There are no errors in the install log !

Can you provide the name of the WebGate installation executable that you are running? Also, do you see a "deployWebgate" (lower case "g") directory under webgate/ohs/tools ?

I am trying to install Oracle 10g on Solaris 10 (x86). I did every thing that is given in the Installation manual
created user,group and directories. set all the env variables.
executing the runinstaller it throws error
error in writing to directory /tmp/OraInstall2009-04-06_07-14-09PM.please ensure that this directory is writable and has atleast 69MB of disk space.Installation Cannot continue.+

I have given recursive a+rwx permission to /tmp folder and /tmp has 3.2 GB free space. am i missing some thing??

This is needed to mark the filesystem/directory as temporary.
Sometimes this can cause such problems also

Error while installing Oracle 10g on Solaris 9 x86

Hi all,
I got several error after install oracle 10g. After I run the root.sh. It prompt :
Starting Oracle CSS service under init(1M)
Expecting the CRS daemons to be up within 120 seconds.
Giving up: Oracle CSS stack appears NOT to be running.
and when I start sqlplus, it prompt:
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Intel SVR4 UNIX Error: 2: No such file or directory
and following the error message prompt every minutes.
"oracle: (Oracle CSSD will be run out of init)"
"root: Failure in CSS initialization opening OCR."
I don't think reinstall oracle will solve my problem if I don't figure out what going wrong. Could anyone tell me what I need to do? Thanks very much for helping.

Error when installing Java 6 on solaris

I have downloaded the Java 6 file "jdk-6u14-solaris-i586.sh" and am
having trouble installing the software.
I have created a directory "/export/home/tools/host/jdk1.6.0_14" and
copied the .sh file to it.
Then logged in as "config" or "root"
./jdk-6u14-solaris-i586.sh
Asks me whether or not I accept the license terms - I answer "yes" to
this.
Then it says

I'm not sure with the solaris sparc 64.
but the most common problem with Linux x86_64 which I assume probably similar. that type of error caused by
you have to install glibc-devel-32 bit and libstdc++-devel 32 bit together with your 64 bit. both libraries required by the Oracle to solve the linking problem.

I had installed all the required packages on it. But while installation links the files it gives the error, the output from the install log is :-

Unable to install NMS 4.15p7 on Sparc 10 running Solaris 8

I have try to install NMS 4.15p7 on Sparc 10 which is running Solaris 8 with Recommended patch Dec-04-2001. After installed it and try to start server, there is some error messages related to "libsh.so".

Installing JDS 3 on Solaris 10 SPARC previously running CDE

Does anyone have experience of installing JDS3 on SPARC architectures? Most of the posts seem to relate to x86. I'm having trouble installing JDS3 from the Solaris 6/06 distribution.
I have a jumpstart config which starts with a SUNWCrnet and adds the minimum to provide a CDE with XDM log in. We thought we'd try JDS3 so I've expanded the profile to include all packages in the Sol10 6/06 distribution which are marked as belonging to the GNOME2 or JDS3 categories.
This gives the option for selecting JDS from the login session menu. The desktop comes up ok but then we get error messages:
'Failed to execute child process "xscreensaver" '
Attempting to start any application from any menu results in the following message:
'Cannot launch entry
Details: Text was empty (or contained only white space)'
I can't even open a terminal.
It looks like a major piece of configuration data is missing but I'm not sure where to start looking.
Any help for an old SPARC head gratefully received.

Xscreensaver needs to have both /usr/openwin/bin and /usr/X11/bin in the user's $PATH. Add the line:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/X11/bin
in your .profile and that should do it for you.

OEPE Install for Solaris Sparc 64 bit

We have installed the below @ Sun Solaris 10, Sparc 64 Bit.
Web Logic 10.3.6
SOA 11.1.1.6.0
AIA 11.1.1.6.0
trying to install OSB (Oracle Service Bus) and it asks about the OEPE Install location and gave an error.
INST-07246 -- Enter a Valid value for OEPE Home location..
We have NOT installed OEPE, because it is NOT available for the version and the platform we have.
The OTN doc says as below:
Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.6) + Coherence - Package Installer Size: .99 GB, Check Sum: 3179053739
This download provides a WebLogic Server generic installer. This installer does not include a JVM/JDK or Oracle Enterprise Plug-in for Eclipse, these must be installed separately.
Question(s):
1) Where can I get the OEPE for Solaris 64 bit and SOA 11.1.1.6.0?
2) Any other workaround for the OSB install issue??

I don't think there is a Oracle packaged OEPE for Solaris 64... There is a Linux 64 though, but I don't think that is what you looking for...

What you can do is to install Eclipse for Solaris... and then go to the link above and download a package "OEPE Plugins Only" and apply the plugins to your Eclipse
