EVM-HD-8FXS problem

In router/gateway 3825 I have a EVM-HD-8FXS/DID card and I want it register with CallManager. I have on CallManager "AALN/S1/SU0/[email protected]", Device type "Cisco MGCP FXS Port" Status:"Rejected". Any idea why is it rejected?

check ur Router if it has following commands
ccm-manager mgcp
ccm-manager config server
ccm-manager config
mgcp
mgcp call-agent 2427 service-type mgcp version 0.1
mgcp dtmf-relay voip codec all mode out-of-band
Verify u have "ccm-manager config"

  • EVM-HD-8FXS/DID as backup

Customer wants 12 pots lines for backup in case the PRI is down. I was thinking of using EVM-HD-8FXS/DID which will give me 8 DIDs and 4 port FXO card or FXO expension module. The question is can I make outbound calls on these lines when configured as DIDs? Is there a better solution?
    Chris

You should be able to use DID trunks (as long as telco provision them as DID trunks) and set all the FXS ports to DID mode. You get 8 base FXS ports on the EVM and you can either add 6 FXO cards or add a 3 FXS/4FXO card or another 8 port FXS port daughter card (expansion module). In DID mode, you wont get any dialtone (much like FXO)
I am not sure if DID mode is available on the expansion cards. Also if you mix and match FXS and DID modes you have to take care of impedance settings. Check this link

I dont think you can configure any ports on the EM cards in DID mode. I strongly believe, you are limited to 8 DID ports (base FXS ports)

  • EVM-HD-8FXS/DID EXT MODULE

HOW MANY FXS VOICE PORTS GIVE ME THE EVM-HD-8FXS/DID WITHOUT EM-HDA- EXPANSION MODULES?.
    THANKS.

OK, IF I NEED 8 FXS PORTS AND 6 FXO PORTS, JUST NEED PURCHASE:
    1x EVM-HD-8FXS/DID plus
    1x EM-HDA-6FX0.
    RIGHT?
    Thanks.

  • Problem whit cisco 2921 + EVM-HD-8FXS/DID whit CUCM

    Hello everyone.
I have the following problem that I am not able to resolve. I define a new connection BRI.
I can make calls seamlessly between the Cisco Unified Communications Manager (version: 8.5.1.10000-26) and Cisco 2921 (CISCO2921-V/K9).
But when you receive calls from BRI Cisco receives the call but the Cisco Unified Communications Manager does not tranfere for Ext
And I can not understand why. In other BRI interfaces do not have this problem.
This configuration here that I'm using.

  • Configuring a EVM-HDA-6FXO for power failure

I want to add a EVM-HDA-6FXO to an exsiting EVM-HDA-8FXS/DID so if power goes out I can still have the FXO ports provide dial tone to the FXS ports.
Two emergency lines NPA-NXX-1000 comes in as a FXO and goes out a FXS port.
Can this be done. And does it work if the power is off to the router.

The FXO expansion module supports a power failure port that connects directly to the central office (CO) in case of failure.

  • Trunk lines

    Hi All ,
Just a quick one, i need to connect 32 Analog trunk lines to a PABX and 4 PRI's to the PSTN. any Suggestions on which Cards i could use on the ISR to achieve this
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
from the PBX point of view, trunk lines are FXO, that is, analog lines that normally go to the pstn. This means the voice gateway will need FXS ports.
If this is your requirement, be aware that the integration may suffer of problems, for example you will not be able to give DID to the PBX.
    Anyway, considering the density, the minimum you can use is a 2821 with EVM-HD-8FXS/DID + 2 x EM-HDA-8FXS, 2 x VIC-4FXS, 2 x VWIC2-2T1E1, 1 x PVDM2-32.
Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!

  • Unregistered FXS port in CME

I'm having trouble getting one of my clients' analog endpoints to register in CME.  There are at least another dozen SCCP analog devices configured and they all seem to work fine.  According to the debugs inbound calls are routing appropriately but because the SCCP endpoint isn't registered the port isn't ringing.  I seem to have spare DSPs for the port to use.  Any ideas?  They're running 12.4(22)T and the analog connectivity is provided by an EVM-HD-8FXS/DID with EM-HDA-8FXS daughter cards.

    Hi Phil,
Try removing all your stcapp configuration and just create a dial-peer voice pots XXX and place the port command in it, along with the extension number.
    example.
    dial-peer voice pots 999100
    description # Analogue Phone 1 #
    destination-pattern 2566$
    port 1/0/1
As long as your translation patterns are correct an imcoming call will ring the analogue device connected to port 1/0/1
stcapp allows analogue ports to be regsitered to a call control server, Ive only seen this with CUCM, and with failover to SRST/CME in both cases you do have to add extra commands. But give the above a try and should be right to make and receive calls.
    Cheers
    Ben

  • AIM-CUE and CCME

Good day, we have a new CCME 3845 Router including VIC2-4FXO,NM-HD-2V,EVM-HD-8FXS/DID,EM-HDA-6FXO modules, this will be used for our new project. Is it possible that the CCME Router will work well on IP Phones even without the AIM-CUE, because that is the only remaining device that need to install on the Router and we want to install now the Router at the Site while we are waiting for the AIM-CUE to arrive the IP Phones should work. Thanks and I will wait for your reply.

    Hi Mahmoud,
You should be fine to get started without the AIM-CUE. This will only prevent the setup of the Voicemail potion of the install :)

  • Maximum 3845 voice card capacity?

    Hello,
I am trying to build a 3845 of the following spec.with the configurator tool.
    in the NM slots:
    2x EVM-HD-8FXS/DID each with 2x EM3-HDA-8FXS/DID
    2x NM-HD-2V each with 2x VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE
    in the HWIC slots:
    1x VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE
    1x HWIC-4ESW
I specify IOS upgrade to S384RSPSK9-12424T so that the EM3-HDA is supported.
But when I finally click check configuration, it says there are only 4 HWIC slots available in CISCO3800, it doesn't appear to take into account that 4 of them are going into the NM-HD-2V modules.
    Is this a configurator bug?
Now someone has told me that the 3845 doesn't support 2x EVM-HD-8FXS/DID each with 2x EM3-HDA-8FXS/DID as well.
    Is this true or not?
    HELP!
    Paul

I thought that the VG224/248 were non-preferred (going end-of-life) as the newer routers (28xx,38xx,29xx,39xx) have absorbed the functionality into their capability.
Customer wants to remain on analog handsets and TDM for voice, so VOIP is not an option.
Unfortunately, I have a requirement to interface to 8 ISDN BRI user devices, BRI is an essential component. I am using E1 for the PSTN trunking.
So, pushing the envelope or not, does anyone know if a 3845 can give me 48x analog voice ports, 8x BRI ports, 1x E1 port and 4x Ethernet switch ports? If so, what modules do I need to achieve this?

  • FAX Analog line for the Router

    Hi NetPro.
May i know that if i have 22 numbers of FAX Analog lines which i module should i add on into the router ? and how many ports which can fullfill the 22 lines of FAX Analog lines.
    example : EVM-HD-8FXS/DID ... etc
    Thanks
    Regards,
    Kitten

Are you connecting 22 analog faxes (FXS), or are you connected to 22 analog POTS lines (FXO)?
EVM can only do 16 max FXS or 8 max FXS + 6 max FXO.
    which router do you have?

    Hello All,
I would like to repurpose an old 3845 WAN router we have here at work to support FXS channels, but I'm not 100% sure on what cards would get me the most channels. I've read in the 3845 product sheet that it can support 88 FXS ports, but the highest density card I can seem to find only supports 8 FXS ports, the EVM-HD-8FXS/DID. Could anyone tell me what combination of cards would get me up to 32-64 FXS channels?
This router already has a PVDM2-64 module and is running "C3845-ADVENTERPRISEK9-M 12.4.(15)T3" for its image.

    Hi Zach,
The 3845 supports 2 EVM modules.

  • 20 Analog Trunks on CME 2911

    Hi guys.
We have a current requirement that has the following specifications.
Minimum of 20 Analog trunks, 1 x E1 PRI ISDN trunk, with SIP license (60 licenses), with IVR, call data recording
I have configured a 2911 with the appropriate licenses in CCW. But, how can I come up with a solution for 20 analog trunks? I am not yet familiar with this.
    Thanks in advance.

    EVM-HD-8FXS/DID                               High density voice/fax extension module -8 FXS/DID
    EVM-HD-8FXS/DID
The Cisco High-Density Extension Module for voice and fax
has 8 FXS and DID ports. Individual ports on the basebo
    ard
module can be configured for FXS or DID signaling. Adj
acent ports should share the same configuration to avoid i
    mpedance
setting conflicts. A change to the impedance setting for o
ne port, changes the setting on the adjacent port. Pair
    ed ports are: 0
    and 1; 2 and 3; 4 and 5; 6 and 7.
An on-premises FXS interface connects directly to a standar
d telephone, fax machine, or similar device and supplies
    ring,
voltage, and dial tone. Signaling support available in
FXS mode includes loop-start and ground-start. DID tru
    nks from the
central office can be connected to the Cisco High-Density E
xtension Module baseboard for off-premises connections.
Signaling support available in DID mode includes immedi
ate, delay dial, and wink start.
Users plug in up to two expansion modules in any combina
tion to increase the voice and fax capacity of the Cisco Hi
    gh-
    Density Extension Module baseboard.
    or
    EM3-HDA-8FXS/DID                             8-port voice/fax expansion module-FXS/DID
    EM3-HDA-8FXS/DID
This 8-port FXS/DID Voice and Fax Expansion Module pro
vides on-premises FXS signaling to connect directly to a sta
    ndard
telephone, fax machine, or similar device and supplies ri
ng, voltage, and dial tone. Signaling support availabl
    e in FXS mode
includes loop-start and ground-start. This expansion modu
le also works with the Cisco High-Density Analog Voice an
    d Fax
    Network Module (part number NM-HDA-4FXS).
DID trunks from the central office can be connected to t
he Cisco Voice and Fax Expansion Module for off-premises
connections. Signaling support available in DID mode incl
udes immediate, delay dial, and wink start. It support
    s up to eight
ports in DID mode, both expansion slots combined (with ei
ght DIDs on EVM baseboard, up to 16 DIDs maximum).
Additionally, it supports robust front end protection.

  • Looking to add more BRI Lines

    Hello
I'm looking to upgrade a Cisco 2921 system to add additional BRI lines.
The base system is a C2921-CME-SRST/K9 bundel (that has a PVDM3-32)
The existing HWIC slots contain two VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE modules, and one VIC3-4FXS/DID module.
(That's two 2-port BRI modules, and one 4port voice/fax module)
Currently, there are 3 BRI lines coming in, and 2nd port on second module is shutdown (according to cisco specs).
What should I be looking at if we want to add 3 more lines and incorporate conferencing? (as there are issues with conferencing now - possibly due to DSP availability?)
Can we add more modules? Should we replace the 2 port BRI modules with 4 port ones? Do we need to add more PVDMs?
    Thanks in advance.

Beware the four port BRI modules (HWIC-4B-S/T) as they only support data and not voice.
There is a module which may be of use at the URL below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/modules/ps3115/product_data_sheet0900aecd8016c1c6_ps5855_Products_Data_Sheet.html
The basic module (EVM-HD-8FXS/DID) provides 8 FXS/DID ports and it can accomodate two expansion cards. There is a four port BRI expansion module available (EM-4BRI-NT/TE) so this card could potentially give you 8 x FXS/DID and 8 x ISDN BRI.
It was originally designed for the 2800 routers and needs an adapter (SM-NM-ADPTR) for use in the 2900 series. It is also old so may be due an End of Sale notice soon.
The card does not provide any DSP resources so you may need to add extra PVDM3 resources to your 2900.
As mentioned by Jonathan I would have a think before commiting to lots of BRI circuits. PRI or SIP is likely to be more cost effective in the longer term.

  • EVM-8FXS/DID

    Hello,
I have a 2821 with a EVM-8FXS/DID installed on EVM slot with a blackbox panel, i have also conected a analog phone on port 7 (voice port 2/0/7) that is working fine, i also have conected a phone in por 0,1,2,3,4,5 but the phone does not work, i tryed to swith the phones but the problem seems to be related with port's 0,1,2,3,4,5.
With show voice port summary I can see tha the port goes off-hook
    Can someone help me

What is the P/N for for blackbox patch panel you are using?
