Excel 2013 RTD links / macro stopped working

I have a new laptop with Windows 8.1 and Office 2013 that was pulling in data via an RTD link into excel without problems until a couple of days ago. The same system works perfectly with XP and Excel 2010. I reinstalled the application (Prophet
X) that is the source of the data and tried the online repair for Office 2013 with no success. I have confirmed all of the Excel settings are the same on the XP and Windows 8.1 systems. Can you help with ideas on what I should try next?

That's not really a solution, is completely pointless.
I have quite an amount of users that are reporting the same problem regardless of the OS installed but each one has upgraded to Office 2013 and our RTD server application stopped working. Ironically the old DDE is working correctly.
We cannot expect to ask our user to re-install W8.x and all the programs to solve the RTD problem.
Btw code signing had no effect, Uninstalling Office 2013 and installing Office 2010 seems to be the only solution.

Just wondering if you have updated the Function definitions found in the esb32.bas file (found in Hyperion\products\essbase\essbaseclient\api\include)? if the definitions are wrong or you have the wrong version it is likely to crash

When i use my infocus portable projector, the trackpad on my mid 2013 macbook air completely stops working.

i have the new 2013 macbook air and like i stated above, the trackpad on the macbook completely stops working. i cant use it to navigate which forces me to use a wireless mouse to be able to navigate at all. i was wondering why this happens and if there any soulution. the projector is plugged in through usb and im not sure if that might be the problem ?

I wouldn't expect a projector to affect the trackpad like that. Possibly if you go into System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Mouse & Trackpad and uncheck Ignore trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present.

Outlook 2013 - MS Outlook has stopped working... (sending Email)

Hi everyone, this one is extremely frustrating and hoping you can help.
My colleague has Outlook 2013 running on Win7 Pro. There are two different mail account, both Exchange server.
Everything works fine except Sending mail. Every time we attempt to send an Email Outlook crashes with the following error:
"Microsoft Outlook has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
I say every time, but it has occasionally sent Email. Never more than once after starting up Outlook and most often, never.
The accounts work for using OWM. The accounts work fine configured identically on a different PC.
Tried Safe Mode. No help
Uninstalled all AV software. No help
Ran Office Repair (both Quick and Full). No help
Short of completely uninstalling Office, re-installing and recreating the profile from scratch (which I would like to avoid) I'm not sure what else to try!
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

In case there's a corruption in your Outlook Data File, please try to repair the data file(.pst or .ost) and check the result:

If you have setup two different Exchange Accounts in one Profile, please try to remove one from the profile, create a new profile to setup the account.

Dynamic Link Manager Stopped Working - New CC Apps

As I expectedthe new CC apps seem to have issues when installing on systems where the user profile is used elsewhere other than c: drive.
I know this becuase As soon as I created a new user on the c: drive and logged on and launched the apps they worked fine.
I have an SSD for OS and Applications, and a RAID 0 Array for the User profile on Win7
Is there any known fix for this issue?
( Im not willing to change any part of my hard drive configuration to fix compatibillity with these new CC Apps. )
Dissapointed this was not dealt with. Im sure im not the only user who is under the circumstances.

No this had never occured the same way in CS6, Other instances of this have occured with CS6 like not being able to open PSD's in AE. But nothing where the Dynmaic Link manager would stop working.
I realize this issue is caused by my storgae setup becuase as I stated above, when I create a new win7 user and luanched the CC Apps( After Effects, Premirere Pro, Photoshop). they work fine. ( this is becuase the user profile for the user remains on the C: drive)
Where as my main user for my machine differs, in that the user profile exists on my D: drive ( for sake of capacity )
All of the Apps work fine with the new user and user profile on the C: drive, but this is not really an option for me as the SSD im using will not be able to store my large amount of user files ( documents, downloads, appdata, pictures, etc.. )

Why did the "insert link" button stop working?

They've had that stupid "click to insert a link" button on the tool bar for ever. But it did nothing. Then it started working, making markup like this:

Excel 2013 Data From Web not working with SharePoint 2013?

In Excel 2013, on the ribbon select the 'Data' tab and 'From Web' to import data from a web page. Navigate to a SharePoint 2013 site with a table on the home page and you will not see the table import arrow on the table. With SharePoint 2010 you would have.
Any suggestions on a workaround/fix?
One thing to note, in SharePoint 2013 be sure to disable the Minimum Download Strategy feature on the site or you will get script errors in the New Web Query dialog.
Also, I realize this may belong in an Office/Excel forum so I have posted it there also.

According to your description, my understanding is that the Excel table import arrow disappears in the SharePoint 2013 page.
For your issue , I can reproduce your scenario in my SharePoint 2013 environment. It should be caused by the Excel Data connection from web page feature cannot identify the page layout which is
used by SharePoint 2013 . For a workaround, you export the HTML table using jQuery:

Hyper Links suddenly stop working ? So does 'ctrl + T/pad'

Hi everyone,
I hope I can explain this for you to uderstand easy.
I may have 2 or 3 Tabs open and decided to open another, example Amazon. I start to look around and 'say' I want to find a CD cover to make a copy of to paste onto something, I find said CD and then all of a sudden nothing works, no hyper links, zero. The only way I can them to work again is to copy the present page I am on, open a new Tab, paste the link in and all works again ????? But the not the original Tab. Plus if I try the 'ctrl _ T/pad' to open the options you then get ( to then copy subject for one ) nothing, yet I tried this in Google Chrome just to test and see if that works and it does. So what the **** is going on, I have no idea so please can anyone come up with a answer !
I hope I have this clear enough for someone to help.

PS: As I was even writing this everything suddenly stop, could not even 'highlight' some of the text and copy ( cmd + C ) .........

Update on my first message.
I have just tried everything regarding the above on my iMac ( the above problem is on my Macbook Pro' ) and guess what everything works fine ??????
Went to Amazon for example, found a book cover, pressed 'ctrl + click on mouse' and hey presto it worked ( options open - open link in new tab, download link file, copy image etc ).
So can anyone tell me why this does not work on my laptop please !

Premiere Pro to Media Encoder Link mysteriously stopped working

I have CS6 Master Collection on a Windows 7x64 Ultimate HP Z820, 32 GB RAM, Quadro 4000, and have been using it for over a year. I use Premiere Pro and batch Queue to Media Encoder for encoding. The last time I used this workflow for batch was about 130 days ago, and it worked like a charm (like it should). A couple of weeks ago, I was on another project and tried to batch again, just like before, even using some of the same presets (on a 'nothin fancy' timeline) and Pr would create a project file in the TEMP folder after I pressed the Queue button, and AME would launch, and the project would appear in the AME queue. I'd press start, and wait a long time, until finally in the Encorder panel, I'd see "Connecting to Dynamic Link Server...", after several minutes, I'd get the goat, and find an error of "Could not read source file..." in the logs. After verifying the source was indeed there, I decided this was really a dynamic link issue.
Here are a few more data points from things I've tried (also pointing to a dynamic link issue).
(1) Exporting (encoding) directly from Pr works fine (so the headless AME is working)
(2) Importing a Pr Sequence within AME does not work either, I get an error from the Import Premiere Pro Sequence dialog (after a long wait “Connecting to Dynamic Link server…”) that “Connecting to Dynamic Link server failed”.
I do suspect this is a dynamic link issue, but don't know why, or what has changed. I've tried the 'create a new Premiere shortcut in dynamiclink folder' solution found on the forums and Google, but it didn't work. When I first tried that, I did find two shortcuts already there, one for Pr and one for Ae, but BOTH of them pointed to a CS4 folder! I've never owned CS4, and went from CS3 Design Professional to CS6 Master Collection. I also suspect this issue was caused by one of the updates to Pr that occurred within the last 130 days (since the last time I know this functionality worked). I've made not changes to my system during that time.
Kyle suggested that it could be firewall problem blocking the TCP traffic used by dynamic link, but I do not use Windows Firewall, and all of this happens on a single machine, so there should be no TCP traffic across the wire (unless it is communicating with Adobe?). I use Webroot Endpoint Protection, but have received no indication that anything is suspect or has been blocked. Any help from the Adobe engineers would be greatly appreciated.
I'd be willing to assist with troubleshooting on my system, as I've done with Audition in the past, but really don't want to uninstall the suite and go through that again. This should be tracked down by looking at the updates pushed out to CS6 withing the last 130 days. I think there have been two.

I've resolved my problem thanks to post by @gagneh on this forum. It turned out to be the NVidia nView Desktop Manager applet found in the Control Panel. It was enabled, and I believe it has been enabled for a long time. I don't know if something in a recent update broke things, but as soon as I disabled the Desktop Manager, my dynamic link started working again in all aspects. Give it a try. Good luck.

All email links have stopped working from both Windows Mail and Thunderbird. It is probably caused by a recent update to Firefox. How can I sort this?

It was OK until a few days ago but now no links work in either Thunderbird or Windows Mail. I have changed nothing so I can only assume that this is another case of an update changing things without my knowledge.
Links within web pages still work. Firefox is the default browser and we have been using Windows Mail and Thunderbird (gmail and googlemail) for at least a couple of years on this computer.

Dynamic Linking has stopped working in Illustrator CS6 16.0.4

Dynamic linking no longer appears to be working since the new update to 16.0.4. I have it set in the preferences to ask me if I would like to update when a change is made to a document that is dynamically linked to any AI file.
It just simply doesn't work anymore. It used to be if I had placed a photoshop document in AI, and then had to make an adjustment to the photoshop file, and then saved in photoshop, when I went back to AI there would be a box saying "the document has been updated, would you like to apply the changes to this file?" or something to that effect. Now I get no prompt, and no update happens.

BTW - Mac 10.6.8
And yes it is a linked image that was added using the place command. It shows in the links panel as a linked file. I can click on re-link and it will update, but I have to manually click it as opposed to dynamic linking updating automatically.

On Yahoo Mail, the "insert link" function stopped working

For the past few months, the "insert link" function doesn't work properly when trying to insert a link into a message. It inserts the link in the wrong place. For example if i paste the following text into a message:

Jeff
http://mywebsite.com
and then if i highlight the URL, copy it, click the "insert link" icon, and paste the URL, it does something crazy like this:
Regards,http://mywebsite.com Jeff
or it makes the entire 3 lines of text a clickable link, instead of just the URL.
It works fine in Internet Explorer.
Things i've tried in Firefox 26.0:
- disabled all add-ons (then restared browser)
- cleared cache
- cleared all Yahoo cookies
By the way, in Internet Explorer, pasted URLs automatically appear as links in Yahoo Mail without having to click "insert link". I wish Firefox enabled this, because it's very time consuming to manually create lots of links. Any plans for improving this?

My macbook pro HDMI link has stopped working

I have a macboox pro 15 inch and a Panasonic TV which were both communicating happily via ilinks mini dv to HDMI cable. When I plugged in yesterday it was working - touched cable and it wouldn't work. Tried cable in other lap top - still wouldn't work. This morning, I tried another mini dv to hdmi adaptor and hdmi cable I know works and it still won't work.
Any ideas?

From what you describe, a logical possibility is that the problem lies in the TV.

Misaligned Links (Clicking Stops Working)

I have Safari 1.3.1 and after using it for a little while I will always start having trouble with the click area of the links of the page being misaligned. That is, I can no longer click ON the link but I have to click on some undefined area slightly to the right and below the link in order to follow the link. The only solution is to restart Safari. The problem occurs with all sites I visit (nytimes, google, apple, etc.)
Does anyone know what could be causing this? It's enough of a nuisance that I'm using FireFox now.
