Exchange rate upload throuhg Transaction ob08

Hi,
I need to load automatically the exchange rates which are downloaded from company site which are in pounds  every month to transaction ob08
I'm trying to use TBDM to upload exchange rates, and I'm having problems.
I created an excel file according the help information. But when I try to run TBDM, my list and error log file are empty. No error messages, but no results.
I tried saving the file as comma delimited and as tab delimited text file, but neither worked. When I first tried to run TBDM, it wanted me to enter a data provider, so I had to set one up in the Treasury config. Is there other config I need to do? You said something in your message about using Access to make a fixed length file. Apparently I'm missing something.
I am also trying to load through Transaction TBEX but that does work either.
I just want to know from Financials gurus if I am proceeding correctly or not.
I'd really appreciate any hints!

Hi,
This question is very old but when you look for this in Google this is the first page that comes up.
To make your own uploadable table in Excel you need to follow this structure:
Required means that you must fill that field and Empty means that should leave it blank.
The length describes the length of the field. It's very important the length of the field because if you don't use that length then it won't work the upload.
1 Data Class (Fixed value '01') - Length 2 - Required
2 Key 1 FROM currency - Length 20 - Required
3 Key 2 TO currency - Length 20 - Required
4 Category Interest type - Length 15 - Required
5 Date Calculation Date (Format DDMMYYYY) - Length 8 - Required
6 Time Calculation Time (Format HHMMSS) - Length 6 - Empty
7 Value Value of Data - Length 20 - Required (Use dot for decimals not commas)
8 Currency Not applicable - Length 20 - Empty
9 FROM Ratio Translation Ratio from - Length 7 - Required
10 TO Ratio Translation Ratio to - Length 7 - Required
11 Other Not applicable - Length 5 - Empty
12 Status Error status (values 50..99)  - Length 2 - Empty
13 Error message Error message - Length 80 - Empty
In excel you can define the column width with right click in the column. Doing that define every column with the previous length exposed. Fill the required fields.
You should use define every field in "Text" format because numbers like the first one: 01, must be 01 and it won't work with just 1. The same with date, if you have a date like 5012015 it won't work and has to be 8 digits like 05012015 (05.01.2015)
After you define every column width and define the required fields. Remember to delete the headers if you used them.
Finally save the file as .prn (Formated Text Space Delimited) and upload TBDM.
That's it

  • Exchange rate difference in transaction FB05

    Dear experts,
I have a question regarding exchange rate difference in transaction FB05.
Prerequisite:We have implement accounts for the exchange rate difference in OB09.
I try to clear the customer in a billing transfer document in FB05, and I didn't do any manual change about amount during the process.
In the clear document there are three items:
Item PK  Account  Account short text   Tax  Amount(USD)   Amt.in loc.cur.(EUR)
      1   40   111111    cl.acc.b.statem.              33,592.00          24,672.79  EUR
      2   40    222222   bank fees&charges          50.00                1,365.91  EUR
      3   15    333333   customer A                     33,642.00-         26,038.70- EUR
And the correct exchange rate is: Currency USD / EUR
      Exchange rate /1.36150
In this case the exchange rate of “bank fees&charges” is very strange.   And some value of local currency should go to the account for exchange rate gain/loss.
This kind of issue happens occasionally.

Even I have implemented this note in our 4.6C system for account assigned POs, but no luck. Please let me know if are successful.
    Thanks
    Neel

  • Different Exchange Rate between Daily Transactions and Tax Transactions

    Hi All,
I would like to ask abount define Exchange Rate for tax calculation. I set our standard exchange rates (For Daily Transactions) by using exchange rate type 'M'. But I want to calculate the tax element using exchange rate type 'T'. It is because there is a different exchange rate which is used for Daily Transaction and Tax Transactions. Does anyone know a way of doing this in config to separate this exchange rate for tax calculation?
    Thanks for any help,
    John

I think its a bit misleading...The requirement is to post an Invoice with a base taxable amount of  Exchange Rate A and a tax amount of Exchange Rate B. The Base Currency is JPY and the System Currency is SGD. So the Report S_ALR_87012357 should see the amount in SGD there. The Issue is caused by the different exchange rate on the tax amount submitted by the Vendor Invoice.
Example: Vendor Invoice Amount: 926,413.00 JPY, then we created PO to Invoice with Base Currency JPYalso amounted 926,413.00 JPY. However, in the Vendor Invoice Amount, the Tax Chargeable is 923.00 SGD (based on their exchange rate 65.66 JPY per SGD). But our Exchange Rate (System Rate) is 63.49 JPY per SGD. How can we reflect the Tax Amount as 65.66 JPY but still the correct SGD amount is based on the Vendor Original Invoice Exchange Rate 65.66 and not the System Exchange Rate, 63.49 in the same Invoice Creation (MIRO)?

  • Exchange Rate Upload Error

    Hi,
I am getting, "47.2% difference to current exchange rate" error, when I try to upload beyond certain range. The percentage varies depending upon the exchange rate though.
What/Where is this "current exchange rate" SAP is checking from and where should I clear this off.
    You help is appriciated.
    Thanks.

    HI
Please go to SPRO -> Financial Accounting -> Financial Accounting global Settings -> Document -> document header -> Maximum Exchange Rate diff -> Define diff per foreign currency.
See if a tolerance limit has been set here. If yes, then SAP would compare the current valid exchange rate with the one that you are trying to maintain.

  • Exchange Rates Upload .. TBEX

    Hi all,
I have tried using the TBDM in 4.7 without success. The TBEX transaction works perfectly.
    I have several questions:
    1. What is the type of file I should be using? a *.txt, *.dat, *.xls?
    2. When I use a *.txt type of file I get the following error message:
Transfer of rate values = 0 not permitted
I have not found any OSS notes which would explain this error message. My client want to  make it daily job. SO i need to upload them using TBDM. So, Anyone please let me know where am i doing wrong ??
    Thanks

    Programe name : RFTBFF00
In documentation of that programme, Structure details are given. We should follow the character length defined by SAP for each field in the structure. If we are not inputting anyone of those fields (the fields marked as 'E'), we should leave blank space of that character length.

  • Problem with Exchange rate upload using BAPI_EXCHANGERATE_CREATE

    Dear Abaper,
I have a problem using BAPI_EXCHANGERATE_CREATE in my program.
I have a currency pair USD to VND (vietnam) which is 1 : 21025.
Bapi is not allowing the value more than four degits.
it will allow only 4 digits and 5 decimals eg : 9999.99999.   How can i pass this value to the bapi.  My functional consultant created a ratio 1 USD : 100 VND so i am doing 21025/100 and passing the value 210.25 to the BAPI, But bapi internally calculating again and its posting (210.25/100) = 2.1025 which is wrong.
Please halp me how to resolve the issue.  <removed by moderator>

Well, what I meant is this.
You have a scenario where 1 USD is worth 21025 VND.
The BAPI documentation describes the solution when 1 CUR_A is worth 12173.8 CUR_B. That is the same like yours, except the numbers are a bit different.
Following the solution in the BAPI documentation, you should be able to pass the necessary values to the FM... but as I said, I never used it myself, so you'll have to follow that description to see if this indeed will get the result you're after. It should.

  • Exchange rate difference not going to the correct GL account

    Hello,
In the transaction OB09, I have given the GL account 702000 for exchange rate difference realized loss and gain.
I have also maintained the exchange rates in the transaction OB08.
In transaction F-44(clear vendor), I give the foreign curreny(EUR) in the entry screen. When I do a charge off difference, however, I need to enter the amount in local currency(USD) because our bank operates in the local currency. When I do a document simulate, it puts the exchange rate difference into another GL account (703030 - that we have defined for unauthorized deductions) and not the one defined for the exchange rate difference(702000). This does not happen if I enter the amount also in the foreign currency.
Could anyone tell me the reason for this and the correction measures.
Any helpful suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rugmani

    Hello,
The original problem is resolved. The current exchange rate was not getting uploaded to the system and as a result, the old exchange rate was being used. So it was putting the difference into the other account.
That has given rise to another problem. We use the TBEX to upload exchange rates from a centrally maintained spreadsheet. The upload is giving the following errors:
Securities master data EUR do not exist!
Interest rate master data CNY is missing
Suggestions and correction measures will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rugmani

  • Fixed exchange rate in PO vs the exchange rate maintained in OB08

    Dear experts,
When I input a PO in ME21N, I noticed that there is a field letting me to input exchange rate.
And I also know that the exchange rate the system automatically picks is from what we have maintained in OB08.
Can I understand that if we have no value input in ME21N, then the systems picks the exchange rate we setup in OB08 when we post invoice in MIRO?

Let me take an example to check if my understanding is correct.
In a German comapny, one PO is created in USD.
The exchange rate from USD to EUR is already maintained in OB08. I did not tick the fix indicator (not matter I input any rate in PO). The system will pick the rate from OB08 in MIGO and invoice posting, right?
Another scenario, I input the specific exchange rate in PO, and tick the fix indicator. The system will pick the rate from PO for MIGO and invoice posting, right?
Is there any chance we can input differenct exchange rate in GR or invoice from the one we used in PO?

    Hello,
Tcode in R/3 where the exchange rates are maintained is OB08.
Here the rates are uploaded daily/monthly depending on the requirement.
The table to view the exchange rates is TCURR.
Goto SE11 and search for the following tables regarding currencies.
    TCURR - Exchange rates
TCURV - Exchange rate types for currency translation
    TCURC - Currency Codes

Thanks for your reply. I know that it is picking exchange rate type from evaluation type. IT is a structure  Please help how to maintaine this or from where it is taking exchange rate ?

  • Problem with exchange rate GBP/EUR

    Hi everyone,
I have an issue regarding 2 documents that have been posted the same date (31.05.2011) but with different exchange rates.
The first doc is type ZP, posted with exchange rate GBP/EUR=0,88XXX (entry date: 26.05.2011, T.Code: F110)
The second one is type BK, posted with exchange rate GBP/EUR=0,87XXX (entry date: 01.06.2011, T.Code: FB01)
Both documents use the same exchange rate type EURX.
I checked in OBA7,  there is no default value for the field "Exchange rate type for foreign currency docs" in both cases.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance,
    Soumaya

    Hi,
If the exchange rate is maintained in OB08 once a month, and in the meanwhile, if you are trying to post any transaction with foreign currency, the system would pick the last available/maintained rate in the table. For Eg: if the rate is maintained upto 30.04.2011 with 0,88XXX and if you have made a document with ZP with posting date as 31.05.11, the system would pick the rate of 30.04.2011 only as there is no rate maintained as on 31.05.11 on the date of transaction. And later, if you would have maintained the exchange rates for the entire month for the individual day of May, and when you processed a document type BK, the system would have picked the actual rate maintained in OB08 as on 31.05.11 ie 0,87XXX. Hence may be the difference.
Please check whether the above was the scenario with you (by referring to the changes option referred by the experts).
    Regards
    Hari
