Exit application on system shutdown

Hello all
I wrote an application (LV 7.0) using a queued state machine. For the most part elements are enqueued in an event-structure.
As a part of the program I write acquired data into a database (local). This DB is copied to a network-drive when the program is started and regularly finished (using an "Exit"-Button on the front panel). The user often shuts down the system without exiting the program, so the DB is not saved. To avoid this loss of data I use the event "Application Exit?". After enqueueing a "Exit"-element I wait for the "Exit"-Case (which is the same as if the Exit-button was pressed) to be executed. Afterwards SilentShutdown is set True and Discard is set false.
To test this functionality I ran the program an
d shut down the system (WinXP). The program finishes as expected and the DB is copied to the network-drive.
Although the program has finished correctly the system does not shut down and I have to shut it down once more.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

i've seen this behaviour on machines running XP without a LV-installation. does your machine shut down at the first attempt when your app is not running? if not so i would refer to Microsoft.
otherwise:
does LV start any services? check the task manager for running services and applications after your first attempt to shut down the system. maybe you could try to change the shut down timeout settings for applications and services in your registry. i think the default is 60 secs.

Virtual Machine crashing all the time: The previous system shutdown at a certain date was unexpected

Hello,
I've a build node that is constantly crashing and rebooting.
When I go to system event log I'm not able to identify the reasons for such behavior.
For instance regarding the machine latest crash I can see: The previous system shutdown at 10:24:57 on ‎27-‎02-‎2015 was unexpected.
But when I try to find some entry corresponding to that time i see none!

According to the title ,do you mean the host machine will reboot when we start the virtual machine and the virtual machine will crash or just the virtual will reboot ?Have you got a BSOD(Blue screen) ?
Did the issue occur before ?Have you installed any third party software recently ?
Please ensure the host machine has got the latest updates.
I suspect there may be a third party conflicts here.
Please try clean boot to have a troubleshoot .

If the issue occured recently ,we can try to perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous point ot have a check.

I have an application that runs normally in a Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 2003, 64 MB RAM. But when i exit application, the Pocket almost freezes ! Sometimes I need to inicialize Pocket again.
I exit my application this way:

Spool disappears in SP01 after exception raised or exiting application, but remains during LEAVE TO SCREEN '0'.

Hi Experts,
I'm using FMs SSF_OPEN and SSF_CLOSE to display multiple smartforms. After SSF_CLOSE the spool appears in SP01, when I exit the application (exit application and debugger) or raise an exception after FM SSF_CLOSE, the spool disappears from SP01.
But if after SSF_CLOSE, I put SET SCREEN '0'. LEAVE SCREEN - which supposedly should exit the program, the spool is not being deleted from SP01.
My question is, is there any way to commit the spool in SP01 even if I close the application or raise an exception? Should the code "COMMIT WORK", work for this requirement?

Note 1076664 - Program for controlled system shutdown specifies a program, that can help you in this manner (with SP16).
For CRM you should check after you restarted the system again, that the queues are triggered/registered again (SMQR).

System shutdown during support package import

We were importing a BASIS support package in our system. Then for other reasons the system shutdown in the IMPOR_PROPER phase so...the system now is corrupted.
We try to launch the import of support package again from SAP GUI but we can not, a dump is generated everytime.
Are there a posibility of launch the import from operating system to finalice the aplication of package?what are the commands to do that?

I don't think it is possible other than backup restore.
But already you are at worst case..i will suggest you to check the data in PAT01 and PAT03 tables at database level.
And delete all the contents from those tables then retry to login.

How can you change the font size in the application and system headers? I searched the system and finder prefs to no avail. Changing the screen density is not a good option.

I downloaded Tinkertool. Found the font section and increased the size of most selections. The only thing that changed that I can see is the window label. The apple line, bookmarks line, the tool bar in safari are all the same---font size of about 4. Found the finder "show view options" but that didn't seem to change anything either. I'll keep working. Restarted all apps after changes as well.

I am trying as I always do, to import some photos from my SD card, and my Destination panel under Macintosh HD only shows 4 items, Applications, Library, System, and User Information. User Information has no drop down file indicator. Normally it would show my entire picture catalog for me to select from. What has happened to it?

It's not a shell script, it doesn't use a parfile. It's a PL/SQL stored procedure that calls the DBMS_DATAPUMP built-in package directly. At this point, I've pretty much got it memorized and no, no one would be changing it without my knowledge or notice.
I know it's 10% of the correct size because sometimes it actually works. I have even watched it fail when I've run it manually as opposed to running it through the OEM scheduler. It's entertaining actually to watch the dumpfile grow to appox 250MB (the correct size) and then shrink to around 20MB (+/- 50 MB) or so when the process fails and finishes. So yes, I'm pretty sure it's a bug - though I haven't jumped to the conclusion that it's neccessarily an Oracle bug yet.
No I can't share - for the same reason I hesitate to open tickets, this is all happening on a closed set of systems. I can't cut and paste - everything has to go through an approved sanitation process, which is laborious and involves cutting CDs and using sneakernet, especially when Oracle support wants every log file under the sun before they want to try and assist. I can use some disgression to retype but I'm not a glutton for punishment in that regard.
So normally if I can't debug it myself - I'll resort to asking questions on forums like this, hoping to find someone who's experienced a similar error and has a work around before I put myself through the torture of opening an SR. I'll let this ride another day or so before I resort to that.
I do appreciate your suggestions, please don't let my responses make you thing otherwise.

Finish system shutdown with closed lid

The system goes to sleep after a shutdown is issued (press powerbutton and click "Shutdown" ("Ausschalten" in german locale)) and the lid is closed while the system is still busy with the shutdown process.
How can I prevent the "go to sleep" and let the system shutdown cleanly even with the lid closed?
This happens on an iBook G3 (PowerBook4,1) with 10.4.11.

Application file system deleted R12.1.3

Hi,
In one of our development R12.1.3 instance(db 11.2.0.3) application file system got deleted accidentally. Please help us in getting the EBS instance up.
1. We have a backup taken on 27th Oct.(Both database and application )
2. We applied 8/10 patches during this period and couple of rounds of testing.
3. Application file system got deleted accidentally on 4th Nov. No issues on Database node .
I want to continue using the same database and old application file system.
Is it possible !!!!! (as we have applied patches within this period)
Please share your thoughts if it can be done ! ! !

You may restore the application binary files from your backup, and re-apply the patch. So the necessary application level binaries will be re-generated while the necessary coding at the DB level will also be re-applied.
Note: When re-applying an already existing patch it prompts you that the patch has been already applied and do you wish to re-apply. Just say yes and proceed

Application Error, System Error and Error in SXMB_Moni

Dear PI Gurus,
I am kinda new to PI(XI) environment, and my self confused when I try to search failed messages in XI. I saw in Status group, there is Application Error, system Error and Error under SXMB_MONI. And I am wondering what is the different between these errors. Worst to come it all errors, Why we do have this separated errors? Can anyone tell me, what is the difference between this errors?

Many have posted this fix:
Go to System Preferences > Energy Saver > Computer Sleep ... set to anything greater than the 15 min. default setting.

Hi Purshoth, There is a table MODATTR In which you will get all the Customer Exits where Status = 'A'.
for enhancements You can refer to table ENHHEADER table with version A and EnhName = z* or the name space which you use.
