Exit variable restriction

hi gurus
I use exit variable in one planning level, in the exit coding, multiple single values (multiple "EQ") are exported as result, however the restriction is at most 9999 single values are allowed in the data structure, is there any possibility to extend this restriction, for example 999999? I know the performance maybe slowed down, but first of all I need solution to fulfill my functionality.
any hints are highly appreciated.
Patrick

Hello Ravi
thanks for your reply, my business requirement is quite complicated, I will explain as follows:
we have two rows in the cube,
CharA/CharB/CharC/KfigD
10001/X/01/100    --->  (row 1 - for process 1)
10001/#/#/200     --->  (row 2 - for process 2)
We also have two separate processes on row 1 and row 2, and those processes are controlled by two different departments, both rows cannot lock each other, hence, different values of CharB and CharC is solution for that.
In process 1, depends on the business logic, row 1 may be reposted to
CharA/CharB/CharC/KfigD
10001/X/02/100
or be reposted to
CharA/CharB/CharC/KfigD
10001/X/03/100
let's assume process 1 repost row 1 to
CharA/CharB/CharC/KfigD
10001/X/02/100    ---> (row 1' )
Meanwhile, process 2 never changes values of CharB and CharC, but it needs to know the latest status of process 1, i.e. for process 2, there is a variable and a layout, the variable is for user selection of CharC, if user select value "03" of Char C(to know the latest status of process 1), then there is no any rows in layout, if user select value "02" of CharC, then one row appears in the layout.
Because CharC always equals to "#" in process 2, we cannot use variable of CharC in the level of the layout( otherwise, the layout always select no rows for process 1), therefore, I define an exit variable of CharA for the level(meanwhile the package) which the layout belongs to, then use function module "UPC_DATA_READ" to read the latest data of process 1 which reponds to user selection of variable of CharC in process 2, then collect values of CharA into the exit variable, since CharA is the linkage of process 1 and process 2, finally, layout in process 2 can read real-time status of process 1.
However, the exit variable only supports 9999 single values, but CharA of row 1 can extend to 10000+ which fulfills the condition like CharC = "02", in this case, my solution is defeated, for my first willing, it's better for me to extend the restriction of 9999
sorry for the complex logic, but I urgently hope to solve the problem.

  • Default value of BeX customer Exit variable not Displayed in WeBI??

    Hello Experts,
We are stuck with a problem where WeBI report is created on top of BeX query and we are not able to see the default value of Bex Customer exit variable in WeBI run. Here is the complete scenario:
    1. One restricted KF is created in BeX, restricted with Customer exit variable on net Due date. And this variable is mandatory, ready for input, and Default value in calculated is user exit as current Week's Monday.
    2. So, by default KF data should be restricted to Monday of current week, if user does not change this value.
    3. Now, WeBI report is created on top of this Bex query, and all is working fine, i.e. we are getting variable as Prompt in WeBI, but Default value is not shown while Running the Webi Report.
So, need your inputs on the same, if default values from BeX in WeBI is supported or not? If yes, why this is happening, and how to resolve it?
Please notice, the restrcition is in KF only, it is not a separate restrcition on Net Due date in Filter area or in Defualt area of BeX
and we are on SAP BW 7.1 and BOXI 3.1 SP4.

  • How to select several values from a user exit variable in a planning folder

    Hello,
I have created a user exit variable for limiting the values only to which the user need to access.
For a simulation part, it is then necessary for him to select several values from these values (not only one, and not all)
But It seems in this case the user has only two possibilities :
    - keep all the values without any restriction
    - restrain the selection to only one value.
It seems possible for the user to access to a multiple choice window, but this possibility doesn't seems to work : in all tests we did, only the first value was taken into account by BPS.
If this method is not good do you know an other manner to permit the user to choice several values amongst a set of pre-selected  (because the original set is too important) values ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Mayank,
Thanks for your response, but I don't think it corresponds to my problem.
I my case, I use a user exit variable to filter some data. It seems BPS offers the possibility to the user to select several values amongts the pre-selected values presented by the user exit variable, but it doesn't work. We can use a popup in which we enters the required values, but in final, only the first value is taken into account.
I don't know if it is due to a BPS bug or if it is not a good solution in regard to BPS philosophy. In this case, the concerned caracteristic isn't in the header but in lead columns.
I must present a solution to my client next monday, so I have not enough time to open an OSS message.
An alternate solution should be interesting too.
My need is to present to a user a selection of values amongst all values from an infoobject (the user exit variable seemed to be a good solution) and the user must have the possibility to select some values amongst these as filter.

  • Current Workday SAP EXIT variable not aligned with correct work days

    Hello,
I am trying to use the Current Workday variable within a report so that the data will only be refreshed when the calendar day is Monday - Friday. Users look at this report every day, but when they get the report on Monday we would like for the date to be restricted to the previous Friday, and then switch back to Monday's date when they view the report on Tuesday. In order to do this we have placed the Current Workday variable from the Calendar Date characteristic with an offset of negative 1, but it is showing Sunday's date when they look at the report on Monday.
    My questions are:
-Does this variable use the factory calendar that can define the work days?
-If so, which Factory calendar does it use? I have gone to the Tcode SCAL but I can see there are many different factory calendars and I have no idea which calendar this variable pertains to. I have also transferred the global settings for the factory calendar from the source system, and I see no change within the variable.
-How can I see the program name behind this SAP Exit variable? My thinking is that I could at least look at the code to see if perhaps I can find out the factory calendar ID the variable refers to from there.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Until this is fixed I have to manually adjust this report every Monday and Tuesday morning!! Not ideal.

    Hi Kelly,
I am not sure whether this can be done by an SAP Exit variable.
But you may try this using a Customer exit variable by using the Function module DATE_COMPUTE_DAY.
The function module "DATE_COMPUTE_DAY" will return the day by 1 to 7 when you input date.
Monday : System will return value = 1
Tuesday : System will return value = 2
Wednesday : System will return value = 3
Thursday : System will return value = 4
Friday : System will return value = 5
Saturday : System will return value = 6
Sunday : System will return value = 7
So input sy-datum to this FM and find the number of day. If it is Monday, the number will be 1.
If output is 1, then offset date by -3 to that of Friday, else offset by -1 to previous day.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Hari

  • Customer Exit Variable Period 000 is not valid in financial year variant Z2

    Hi all,
I am trying to get the week number from a particular posting period. But I get this error when I execute the Query:
    Error Group
    RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Message
SYST: Period 000 is not valid in financial year variant Z2
I checked in "FIRST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET" FM and it is not accpting period 000 for PERIV Z2. It works fine for all other periods.
Does anyone have an idea on this?
    Thanks.

    Simon,
So do you think that there is a problem in my Query restrictions? You ask me to restrict from 0 - 12, but this period is calculated based on the SY_DATUM in a cust. exit variable. And this period is being used to pull week number. So, do I need to change the code?
But I already have another query which is similar to this, only ready for input options are missing in the new one. The older one is working fine but the I have problem with this.
    Any more ideas?
    Thanks!!

  • Customer Exit Variable in cell definition in BEx

    Hi,
I have defined a query with a Structure in Row and Key Figures in column.
The result of query should look like this:
Fiscal/Year Period | Quantity per month | Quantity cumulative
    011.2010 (Variable Offset Value -3) | 5 | 5
    012.2010 (Variable Offset Value -2) | 6 | 11
    001.2011 (Variable Offset Value -1) | 7 | 7
    002.2011 (Variable Single Value, Manual Input) | 8 | 15
"Quantity cumulative" is defined as follows:
    Quantity cumulative (002.2011) = Quantity 001.2011 + Quantity 002.2011
    Quantity cumulative (001.2011) = Quantity 001.2011
    Quantity cumulative (012.2010) = Quantity 011.2010 + Quantity 012.2010
    Quantity cumulative (011.2010) = Quantity 011.2010
"Fiscal/Year Period" and "Quantity per month" are OK. But I have problem to define the key figrue "Quantity cumulative".
I have defined a Customer Exit Variable on Reference Characteristic "Fiscal/Year Period". Moreover I have also defined cell definition to define each individual cell for key figrue "Quantity cumulative" restricted by Customer Exit Variable.
The Quantity cumulative (002.2011) and Quantity cumulative (001.2011) are calculated correct. But it doesn't work for 012.2010 and 011.2010 (because of previous year).
I would be helpful if you can give some hints.
    Thanks

    Hi,
try to use this trick with an IF condition in you customer exit. Calling 'var1' the manual input of:
    data: month_difference TYPE N.
    month_difference = 'var1'+4(3) - 4.
    IF month_difference >= 0.
DO the classic code which you have already used.
    ELSE month_difference < 0.
DO the replace concatenating manually 'var1'(4) and the single month.
    ENDIF.
    Hope it helps.
    Best regards.

  • Using Formula Variable in Customer Exit variable

    Hi,
I want to assign valuees of 2 Formula Variables to one cstomer exit variable based on some Characteristic.
Example. Formula variables are Early and Late. If Early = 3 and Late = 4 , I want to pass value to the Customer Exit variable as Low = 3 and High = 4.
The problem is in I_T_VAR_RANGE there is no value for formula variable in LOW field.
Other variables based on Characteristics have values in this field.
What can I do in this case?
    Regards
    SSS

    SSS,
You can restrict your characteristic with two variables in the value range options of restricting.
One can be used as low and the other can be high.
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks.

  • Check user entry in Customer Exit Variable in i_step2

    Hi Folks,
at the moment I'm facing a challenging problem. In an BW Query i have a Customer Exit defined as "not ready for Input" to catch the Variable in I_Step = 2 and fill by a certain algorithm. When i change the CE Variable to "Inputready", the user can enter values, but i have no chance to react on these values as i_step = 2 will not b reached during execution- And this behaviour is correct. BUT is there any chance to Check user entries in an Customer Exit variable and change this somehow in des code?
    Thanks for all replies.
    BR,
    Maik

    Hi there,
It is possibel depending on what you wish to accomplish.
You can create two variables for the same characteristic.
The first is an input ready variable for the user to enter the data and the second is a not input ready variable CE where you can in step 2 process the data entered from the variable ready for input.
You can than fill the CE variable with any data, but you will have the variable restricted by the two variables (the ready for input and the CE).
But for validating you could throw an error message based on the variable input ready.

  • Help needed in Customer exit variable

    Hi Experts,
We have a scenario as below.
User enters fiscal year period.Based on the fiscal year period, entire year will be selected.
    Row would contains
0fiscper3(Fiscal months from Jan to Dec)
Column contains Amount(Actual or Forecast)--There is a restricted keyfigure on amount. If value type=60 then forecast
and value type=10 then actual amount
If the user enters 002.2010 then it should give Actual values ie value type=10 for 001.2010 and 002.2010.For all values greater than 002.2010, it should give forecast values(value type=60)
    Report Format.
    Jan----
Actual Value(value type=10 in the column for amount)
    Feb----
Actual Value(value type=10 in the column for amount)
    Mar----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Apr----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    May----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Jun----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Jul----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Aug----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Sep----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Oct----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Nov----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Dec----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
I know that i have to create a customer exit variable for value type
But in this scenario.the value for value type may change in each row based on fisper3(month).
How can i obtain such a scenario in the customer exit
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Senoy
Edited by: senoy laxman on Feb 15, 2010 6:42 AM

    Hi Senoy,
you have to create two customer exit variables for fiscal year period(0fiscper) as given below.
    1. for actual values (value type=10), coding in cmod such that showing values less than and equal to user input values.
    2. for forecasting values(value type=60,)coding such that showing values greating than user input values.
use the first varible in the first selction and the second varible in the second selection in the given below structure(use the structure in rows)
use the fiscal period user input varible in the third selection in the given structure below.
    structure
selection - (Actual)-restrict with value 20 and first customer exit variable .
selection -(Forecast)-restrict with value type 60 and second customer exit variable.
    Selection - 0fiscper
Add the key figure 0Amount in the columns or in rows(in the selection of second structure) as per your requirment.
    hope this helps you.

  • How to change a customer exit variable in columns

    Hallo Experts,
i have a query with two columns. In the first column is a customer exit variable, who get filled with the actual calyear. In the second column is the same variable with an offset -1.
When i execute the query, in the first column i can see the year 2007 and in the second column i can see 2006. That´s ok.
Now i want to change the year (dynamically) in a filter 2007 in 2005. The result should be in the first column 2005 and in the second column 2004.
    What can i do?

    Hi Jens,
As I understand the scenario, you have two RKF or selections in column 1 and 2, one is restricted with variable ZYear, the other with the same variable, offset - 1 and variable ZYear provides current year.
I think there is no way to change years dynamically in a filter, but you could solve the issue by refreshing the query and overwrite default value provided by customer exit.
To achieve this, please change variable and check 'Ready for input' in change dialog..
If this shouldn't work, please let me know details a variable definition and customer exit.
    Have a nice w/e

  • Problem with customer exit variable that is input ready as well

    Hello all,
I'm facing an issue with a customer exit variable that again has been defined as input ready. I'm not sure why it is working incorrectly and I#m wondering if this is a bug or if I do s.th. stupid.
The problem is that in the exit program ZXRSRU01 this varibale does not go into the program code I have prepared for this variable. I have added entry points for all three i_step values 1,2,3, but the code will never be touched and in debugging I can see that it simply pypasses the code for this variable.
I have tried to enter a value or to leave it blank, no difference.
When I run another test by just using a customer exit variable w/o input ready capability, then I have no issue, the exit does exactly what I have coded.
Does this mean, that a customer exit variable along with input readiness dows not work ?????
You may ask why I need this variable. Well, my intention is to use the input value of this variable A to derive other values for a complete different variable B. Afterwards I want to erase the input given into variable A to have it blank.
    Any comments are appreciated
    Thanks

    Hi Heiko,
I assume A & B variables are defined on different Characteristics. If you wish to derive B based on A, you can create the Query Characteristic Restriction on B & have a dummy RKF restricted on A whose processing is by Manual Input; where processing of B is by Customer Exit. In istep 2 you can check for B, read A & derive B. There would not be a need to blank out A since the Query would not be restricted on A - you can hide the dummy RKF from showing in the output. Just a thought.

  • Drill Down and customer Exit variable

Hello together and A Happy New Year!
Please help me with the following topic:
I have a query with 4 selections(fields) in the columns.
In the first selection (F1) I have resctricion to Posting Period via Period to (a user entry variable).
In F2 I have restriction to Posting Period via Period to cust (customer exit based on value of V1 - introduced by the user)
In F3 I have restriction to PP via Period from, Period to (between: user entry variables)
In F4 restriction to PP fia Period from cust, Period to cust (between: customer exit variables)
In the query, if I select in the selection screen Period from 1 and Period to 3, for example, when I make the drill down, only  3 (Period to) is displayed instead of 1, 2 and 3.
If in the query designer I remove from the columns F1 and F2, then the drill down is working properly (having intervals in the other fields: F3 and F4).
Do you have any idea why drill down is not working properly with all 4 fields in the columns?
    Thank you,

  • BPS User Exit Variable based on Planning Package Selection

    Hi,
I'm implementing a SAP BW-BPS planning layout to be integrated into the CRM we user interface.
Most of the characteristic selections come from the CRM fields that need to be filled by the user when creates a trade promotion.
The charcteristic selections work (as standard) just if in the planning level I flag "Selection in Package", then in package these selections are dinamically defined from what the user select in the CRM fields at runtime.
My problem is that I have to build a BPS User Exit variable to filter, in the planning level, the proper Planning Area based on the CRM Sales Organization value.
The characteristic CRM Sales Organization belongs to whose chararcteristic the value is determined dinamically in the planning package.
Is it possible for a BPS user exit variable, set in the planning level, to catch the value of a characteristic selection made at planning package?
    Many thanks for your help.
    Alessandro

    Hi Indu,
    Many thanks for your answer.
I have already took a look at the document posted by you but I didn't find the solution to my problem.
This because i have to create a user exit variable that need to get the value of the characteristic selection in package.
I mean in the planning level I will have the user exit variable that restrict the planning area and, his function module, need to read, at runtime, what is the value of the characteristic CRM Sales Organization restricted in package by CRM.
So I don't have any idea to which BPS internal table I have referred to in my funcion module to catch the value of the CRM Sales Organization dinamically filtered by CRM.
    Many thanks,
    Alessandro

This ZPD_YEAR_DAY variable is the user exit variable.

    Hi!
I am following up to this post to see if there is something I am missing.
We have bex query with user exit variable and webi bi4sp04.4
In bex the user exit variable works correctly, in webi, it is ignored  (the webi results are not filtered as they are in bex web results)
I have tried moving the variable to the char restrictions and removed ready for input - so there are now no prompts in bex query.
I have reviewed note 1611185 as well as other info on restrictions of BICS and webi, but cannot find a clear answer if bex user exit variables are supported in BI4 clients or not.
