Exit Variable selction screen validation

Hi experts,
I have a 2 variables in the selection screen one for material and other for vendor . when both are empty i need to show the selection screen again, If any one is entered then i need to show the report.
I used the FM  CALL FUNCTION 'RRMS_MESSAGE_HANDLING'
                       EXPORTING
                        i_type  = 'E'
                        i_msgv1 = text-020
                        i_langu = sy-langu.
                       EXIT.
in the Step 2, but i am not getting the selection screen again the report gets executed.
Please provide the solution for this.
Thanks in advance
Sai

Hi,
When both are empty then Error message is possible .
But for any one,I think this is not possible. To bring the selection screen back after error message you  need to have the mandatory fields ( which ever is left blank )
but if u make both as Mandatory you need to enter the value in both .
If you make either as optional then that Field if left blank will no give u selection screen back...
I think there can b a workaround... dont know works there or not
Make both as Mandatory then check
If material is filled by user then for  vendor , you can populate all values ( default complete range )
and If vendor is filled by user then for  material ,you can populate all values ( default complete range as per your possible Data )
Just give a try
Hope this helps..

  • Customer Exit Variable Period 000 is not valid in financial year variant Z2

    Hi all,
I am trying to get the week number from a particular posting period. But I get this error when I execute the Query:
    Error Group
    RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Message
SYST: Period 000 is not valid in financial year variant Z2
I checked in "FIRST_DAY_IN_PERIOD_GET" FM and it is not accpting period 000 for PERIV Z2. It works fine for all other periods.
Does anyone have an idea on this?
    Thanks.

    Simon,
So do you think that there is a problem in my Query restrictions? You ask me to restrict from 0 - 12, but this period is calculated based on the SY_DATUM in a cust. exit variable. And this period is being used to pull week number. So, do I need to change the code?
But I already have another query which is similar to this, only ready for input options are missing in the new one. The older one is working fine but the I have problem with this.
    Any more ideas?
    Thanks!!

  • How to run the variable exit without calling the variable selection screen?

    Hi all
I have a query with 2 variables 0P_PRQUA (Previous Calendar Quarter (SAP Exit)) and ZCCDAT02.
ZCCDAT02 is a Key Date variable that is derived based on the last day of the quarter that is entered in 0P_PRQUA. The exit code works correctly when calling up the variable screen and ZCCDAT02 is derived properly.
The problem is that 0P_PRQUA is set to "Can be changed in query navigation". So if the user changes the value of the quarter the exit is not triggered and the value of ZCCDAT02 does not change.
Is it possible to trigger the exit or is there another way to do it? Ideas would be appreciated. I am trying to create a Web Template with a Dropbox box for the Quarter.
Query is written in BW 3.X.

    Hi guys
Just to restate the requirement. I want the user to be able to change the value of the variable, WITHOUT calling the variable selection screen.
I want the user to be able to change the value of the quarter by using a dropdown box from within the web template. Once that is selected I want the value of ZCCDAT02 to be derived from the new value of the quarter.

  • WAD Variable screen not displaying when using a customer exit variable

    Hello,
I have a query which has 3 variables, one of which is of type customer exit and gets populated with a default value.
When I run this query on the web from within BEX it works fine, however when I run it within any BI7 web template the variable screen does not pop up. Of course if I remove or change the offending customer exit variable the variable screen pops up.
I have switched the display variable check-box to on, and it still doesn't work.
Is this a 'feature' of BI7?
    Many thanks
    Sarah

Fixed it myself by tweaking the URL....
Added &VARIABLE_SCREEN=X to the end of the url and the variable screen now pops up. Its not an ideal solution but it works.
    Anyone have any better ideas?

  • BI 7 Bex Query - User exit variables after variable screen re-processed

User exit variables are not re-calculated after the variable screen is called up to re-run report with a new selection.  Is there some way to force the user exit variables to change?   I am aware of note 1064273 but this doesn't seem to help in these circumstances.
    Example:
My Bex Query uses OI_FYPER for a static characteristic selection and  I have defined a customer exit formula variable which uses the values in OI_FYPER.
All works fine when the query is run first time but if the user calls up the variable screen to change the selection and re-run the query, the customer exit formula variable is not re-calculated (customer exit is called but only with ISTEP = 3).
Software version is NS2004S (BI 7.0)  SPS10, BI ABAP SP11, BI JAVA SP10, BI Front End Package 1401 rel 354.

  • Error with a customer exit variable

I have a customer exit variable in a characteristic (0fiscyear). Also I have a manual input variable on the characteristic 0fiscper. The customer exit collects the four digits of the year that the user introduces a screen for the characteristic 0fiscper. Collect the value correctly and in the development system does not give error, but in the production system said that "the value 2008 (for example) is not valid for 0fiscyear characteristic". The two systems are at the same level of patches and queries are identical. Any idea why this error??

  • Customer Exit variable of Query not working in View

    Hi,
I have a customer exit variable in my query to calculate the last 6 month period on Calendar month. I have used 0CMONTH for the same and then using offset of 6 on its value range to get it.
Now, I have many views based on this query, which should ideally be having the same filter condition for the calendar month, but it is not happening. Although, it is working fine for the query! The views do not seem to be catching the selection correct.

    Hi there,
As far as I Know, yes they exist. The only difference here, is that you build a query with a selection screen, and  you execute the query with some selection parameters, and therefore all customer exit variables, offsets, etc, will be read and changed at the runtime execution of the query, and you can rearrange your query visualization drilling down free char., making filters, etc. and storing that visualization in a view.
If you save your view and execute it afterwards, you'll get the same selection parameters to input, the same offsets, etc, that you have with the query, but with a visualization stored by you.
So that should have been working.
    Diogo.

  • Customer Exit Variable not working in BO-Webi Report

    Hi All,
I have created a universe based on Bex Query.
Bex query consists of a customer exit variable on Calendar year/month where in it will populate current calendar year month by default while executing the query. It works fine while executing in SAP BI Bex Analyser.
I have created a universe based on the query. For Calender year/Month i got L00, L01, LOV values in universe.
Based on the universe I have created a Webi report. I did not specify calendar year/month as query filters. While directly executing the Webi report, I get the calendar year/month variable screen. But the value for it not populated based on customer Exit code written in BI.
What has to be done to get the customer exit values in variable screen.
    Thanks for your understanding.
    -- Selva

Since you have customer exit variable in your bex query, it will be like a global filter in your universe.
Execute the webi report and check whether you are getting only current month data.

  • Customer Exit variable in BEX Query

    Hello Guys,
I need to write a custmer exit variable in which the requirement is user is provided with input selection of Posting Period, and user wants the output as sum (cumulative) of 0 i.e start to the period provided by user input.
Consider a scenario, if user puts 06 as posting period in selection screen then keyfigure should sum all the values from 00 to 06.
Now, I need to write the customer exit for this.
Can anyone suggest me the same?
your inputs will be heavily appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Saurabh

    Hi ,
Here V1 refers to the selection variables used for user input as posting period .
You can use the following code in CMOD :
read table i_t_var_range into loc_var_range with key vnam = 'V1'.
        if sy-subrc = 0.
          WA_PERIOD = LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW - 6
"    If WA_PERIOD <= 6  " Take this condition in to consideration while using the code
      "  Endif .
           l_s_range-low  = WA_PERIOD
          l_s_range-sign = 'I'.
          l_s_range-opt  = 'BT'.
        l_s_range-high =  LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW
          append l_s_range TO e_t_range.
        else.
        endif.
    Hope it helps .

  • Customer exit variable in Report designer

    Hello,
I have created one Customer Exit variable ( variable ready for input) for one of the characteristics in a query. However, when i execute this query in Report designer, the selection variable is not appearing. It is just taking the variable value from Exit, eventhough the variable is ready for input.
Is it  a standard behavior or am i missing anything ?
    Ravi

    Hello,
First check your variable is included in the report desinger or not
if it is included in Filters, use the T-code RSRT2 and execute. You should get a variable screen.
    Debug your query here.
    Hope it is useful.

  • Concatination of Two dates in customer exit Variable

    HI Expert ,
I am writting customer Exit Variable to get Records from user entered Dates .
Eg. In Variable Screen of Bex report i have 2 Variable LYDate & TY Date both of them are As "Mutiple Single Value" & "Mendetory".
If we give LYDATE and TYDATE Date range as,
    LYDate - 01/2013 - 06/2013
    TYDate - 01/2014 - 12/2014
So I need ABAP Code which will get Value Range from 01/2013 from LYDATE and 12/2014 From TY DATE . So Query will Get data for 01/2013 TO 12/2014 (2 Years Data).
ZCALYEAR (Cusomer Exit)  = LYDATE (01/2013)  TO TY DATE(12/2104).
Please provide step by step ABAP Code to Achiev above issue. Points for Sure...
    Thanks,
    GB

    Hi,
Some code like this will solve your issue:
    CASE I_VNAM.
       WHEN 'NEWVARIABLE'.
       IF I_STEP = 2.
READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE WITH KEY VNAM = 'LYDate'.
          If sy-subrc =0.
              CONCATENATE LOC_VAR_RANGE-LOW(4) INTO L_S_RANGE-LOW.
READ TABLE I_T_VAR_RANGE INTO LOC_VAR_RANGE WITH KEY VNAM = 'TYDate'.
              If sy-subrc =0.
                   CONCATENATE LOC_VAR_RANGE-HIGH(4) INTO L_S_RANGE-HIGH.
                   L_S_RANGE-SIGN = 'I'.
                   L_S_RANGE-OPT = 'EQ'.
              APPEND L_S_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.
            endif.

  • Check user entry in Customer Exit Variable in i_step2

    Hi Folks,
at the moment I'm facing a challenging problem. In an BW Query i have a Customer Exit defined as "not ready for Input" to catch the Variable in I_Step = 2 and fill by a certain algorithm. When i change the CE Variable to "Inputready", the user can enter values, but i have no chance to react on these values as i_step = 2 will not b reached during execution- And this behaviour is correct. BUT is there any chance to Check user entries in an Customer Exit variable and change this somehow in des code?
    Thanks for all replies.
    BR,
    Maik

    Hi there,
It is possibel depending on what you wish to accomplish.
You can create two variables for the same characteristic.
The first is an input ready variable for the user to enter the data and the second is a not input ready variable CE where you can in step 2 process the data entered from the variable ready for input.
You can than fill the CE variable with any data, but you will have the variable restricted by the two variables (the ready for input and the CE).
But for validating you could throw an error message based on the variable input ready.

  • Help needed in Customer exit variable

    Hi Experts,
We have a scenario as below.
User enters fiscal year period.Based on the fiscal year period, entire year will be selected.
    Row would contains
0fiscper3(Fiscal months from Jan to Dec)
Column contains Amount(Actual or Forecast)--There is a restricted keyfigure on amount. If value type=60 then forecast
and value type=10 then actual amount
If the user enters 002.2010 then it should give Actual values ie value type=10 for 001.2010 and 002.2010.For all values greater than 002.2010, it should give forecast values(value type=60)
    Report Format.
    Jan----
Actual Value(value type=10 in the column for amount)
    Feb----
Actual Value(value type=10 in the column for amount)
    Mar----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Apr----

    Nov----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
    Dec----
Forecast Value(value type=60 in the column for amount)
I know that i have to create a customer exit variable for value type
But in this scenario.the value for value type may change in each row based on fisper3(month).
How can i obtain such a scenario in the customer exit
    Your help will be appreciated.

Edited by: senoy laxman on Feb 15, 2010 6:42 AM

    Hi Senoy,
you have to create two customer exit variables for fiscal year period(0fiscper) as given below.
    1. for actual values (value type=10), coding in cmod such that showing values less than and equal to user input values.
    2. for forecasting values(value type=60,)coding such that showing values greating than user input values.
use the first varible in the first selction and the second varible in the second selection in the given below structure(use the structure in rows)
use the fiscal period user input varible in the third selection in the given structure below.
    structure
selection - (Actual)-restrict with value 20 and first customer exit variable .
selection -(Forecast)-restrict with value type 60 and second customer exit variable.
    Selection - 0fiscper
Add the key figure 0Amount in the columns or in rows(in the selection of second structure) as per your requirment.
    hope this helps you.
