Export/import of Project: Master Image Not Found? No Referenced Files

I am using Snow Leopard and latest Aperture. I just exported a project from my Macbook and imported it on my iMac. All 200 images indicate that the Master Image Not Found and have the yellow triangle with the exclamation point.
I have read about problems using Referenced files. These are not Referenced.
What am I missing? Is this not the preferred way to move projects from machine to machine?
Thanks for any help...
Tom

Tony -
Just to close the loop. I discovered that some new RAM in the MBP was not good (it was OK, then didn't turn on - after a near heart attack, I tried taking out the new RAM and it was fixed!). It may be that the project export was corrupted by the bad RAM. I also disconnected the firewire drive, so that may also have contributed (even though the drive was not directly involved in any of the transfers).
So I'm marking this 'Solved'.
Thanks for your interest and help!

  • Master image not found

    Dear,
I am facing the following problem in Aperture. In only one of my many folders (and all the albums in that folder), all the pictures have a yellow triangle with an exclamation point in it ... when i try to openany of these pictures to make adjustments Aperture is showing a pop up box with the following message "The selected master image is either offline or not found. Please reconnect it and try again". When I then right click on that same picture and select "Locate referenced file" the system is showing a path to a Finder folder where the related file is not present.
I am puzzled ... if these pictures are not in my system how come I can still see them (though not adjust, print or export them) in Aperture. Is there another to retrace/restore them?
    Thanks
    Thibault

    ==========image.svg ends ===============

    Hi,
it is indeed bug in SVG Converter from Production Suite. The correct behavior is to add the referenced image into fxz archive, so that the file is self contained and does not depend on other files somewhere on a file system. I filed [http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-8794|http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-8794]
As a workaround you may insert the file IMG_2921_t.jpg manually into the fxz archive and change the url in the content.fxd entry so that is will look like this: image: Image { url: "IMG_2921_t.jpg" } . The fxz files are normal zip files, just with different extension.
Sorry for inconvenience and thanks for finding this issue.
    Regards,
    Pavel

  • Externally edited image not stored with referenced files?

When I open an image in the external editor, do my work in PS, and then save, the new file is located in the Aperture Library even though the master for the image is a referenced file. Is there any way to change this so the new images will be placed in the same folder as the referenced images? Thanks...gary
mac book, G5 dual   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I'm afraid for the moment you have to do it manually by selecting the image and going to File/Relocate Master.
We should have and option in Aperture to allow us to have ALL the images in an external location.

  • Managed image not found

I was doing a relocate originals to get the masters out of my vault and into a backed up system.   After it was "done", there is one file that says "image not found".  However, I can find the image file.  How can I get Aperture to not see it as a managed image (that isn't in its vault) and instead to be a referenced image where I can point it to the file?
    Thanks in advance,

The message in the vault panel can be misleading. It will also count files in the Photo Stream. Are you using Photo Stream?
If Aperture relocated your images, you will be able to use the command "File > Show in Finder". Try that on some files in the project in question. If aperture still has the file indexed as "managed", the Show in Finder should be grayed out.
If your files are truely managed, you will see them in the Library package. Ctrl-click the Aperture library and use the command "Show Package Contents". Open the folder "Masters" and navigate to the subfolder of the date, when you imported the project. Managed originals should be stored there.

Ah-ha! Yes, it's PhotoStream well, 155 of them are. The reast are in various sub-folders under Masters but they aren't the master files (those are definitely disk outside of the Library) and they are very small - <100k and the ones I've looked at are 720x540 whereas the originals were either 2048x1536 (iPhone 4S) or 3888x2592 (CanonEOS400D) so I don't know where they've come from The only clue is that the pixel size is the size of Std Def TV (UK PAL).
I take it that PhotoStream images are Managed and can't be Referenced? Any idea where the others may have come from? I take it that it wouldn't be wise to go deleting them!!

  • Image Not Found in Aperture

I just imported over 1,000 images into Aperture from a photo shoot. The first 680+ images imported fine. The rest appear as images in Aperture but when I try to make Adjustments I get the message "Image Not Found." I used "Show Package Contents" on the iPhoto Library and see that the first 680+ RAW files are located in the appropriate Masters folder. Apparently not all of the images were copied from the memory card; maybe I dismounted the CF card before all the processing was completed. I've tried repairing the database and the images are still not in the library. Ideally I would simply copy the missing RAW files into the Masters folder where they belong but it sounds manipulating files in the finder after using "Show Package Contents" is a bad thing to do. The missing files are located on the CF card, which I think is where the iPhoto library thinks they are located. I have since copied them to a folder on my hard disk.
My iPhoto library is located in the Pictures folder. I'm not using Referenced images but the badge image on the missing files indicates that "The referenced image’s master has not been found," a yellow triangle with a right arrow above it. Any suggestions for how to get the missing images into the iPhoto library?

The missing files are located on the CF card, which I think is where the iPhoto library thinks they are located. I have since copied them to a folder on my hard disk.
Then insert the card again, but do not import again.
Are the originals still reported as missing?
If not, select all images that are showing a problem and use the command "File > Consolidate Originals".
When prompted, select to "Copy", not "to move". This will write the originals into the Aperture library.

  • "Image not found" message

Whilst downloading pictures from a flash card I got a warning message saying that the device had been disconnected, and that my pictures hadn't been downloaded. I hadn't actually deliberately disconnected the card, but I had moved my computer and the connection has previously been rather sensitive to movement. The pictures I was trying to download couldn't be found on the card, and weren't in the Aperture album I was downloading to. However, when I opened the Trash they seemed to be in there. I dragged them to the relevant album. However, when I actually tried to open the images for editing, I got a message saying "Image not found". When I look at the thumbnails there is some sort of little icon in the bottom right corner, as you can see in the screenshot below. Have my images been lost? Can I get them back? I don't quite understand what has happened.

I ran this and it turned out that the master files were still on the flash memory card, even though they hadn't shown up in the original index following my download failure.
    Hello David,
So you got your images back ? Great!
the difference between 'referenced' and 'managed' Library. What are these?
Aperture has two methods to store the original master image files.
Managed Masters, the default: Aperture stores the master image files inside the library package in a folder called "Masters". References masters are advantageous for small libraries - the masters are well protected, they are included in the vault backup, you can move your library by drag and drop.
Referenced Masters: You chose a location for the master image files outside the library, and Aperture references the masters. It will be up to you to remember where your masters are and to ensure that they are neiter modified, moved, or deleted. Referenced Libraries are used for large libraries, if you cannot keep the whole library on the system drive. Then the thing to do is to store the masters on an external volume and only to keep the library and good quality previews on your system volume.
You create a referenced library either on Import with the "Store Files" drop down menu in the "Aperture Library" brick by setting this to "In their current location" or to anfolder outside Aperture, or you use the "relocate masters" command from the "File" menu to move master image files somewhere else.

  • Master images not available in Aperture 3

    Hi,
I recently bought a 27" iMac. I moved all my data and apps from my 20" iMac.
All my image folders are present, and my photos are in there (Canon raw).
Aperture shows my photos in the correct library, but when I try to export them as jpgs, I get an error, something like "master images not locatable".
Anyone know how to fix this?
    Cheers

"I assume in transferring my data to the new iMac, the hard drive name has changed or something."
Corrrectamundo! I'm guessing you are right.
The library is trying to find the masters at the old location. You need to use the "Relocate Masters" command, under "File".
Under "Photos" (left tab), select all images, then do the Relocate Masters. You should then get a listing of all photos that are disconnected from the masters. Now point to the location where they actually are and do a reconnection. You may have to do this for all top-level projects.

you are not setting the classpath but the path, and they should both be written in capitals, PATH and CLASSPATH.
The classpath contains directories and jar files that contain the classes that need to be "visible" to your applications. The servlet classes are part of the file servlet-api.jar, which you can find in your tomcat directory, more specifically the common/lib sub directory.
I would expect your classpath to look something like this:
    .;d:\program files\tomcat\common\lib\servlet-api.jar
You may also want to add the directory in which you are storing your projects, I don't know how you are building your applications.
You seem to be very new to this, so I would suggest you give this a read:

I've creted wallet by command :
    alter system set encryption key identified by "sdsdsdsds";
After that i can close and reopen this wallet , it's ok. But i can't create crypted tablaspace :
CREATE TABLESPACE RMD DATAFILE '/oradata/orcl/TDE.dbf' SIZE 600M
AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 100M MAXSIZE 2000M
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL UNIFORM SIZE 64K ENCRYPTION USING 'AES256' DEFAULT STORAGE (ENCRYPT);
i've got an error ORA-28374: typed master key not found in wallet
    My wallet looks like :
    Requested Certificates:
    Subject: CN=oracle
    User Certificates:
    Oracle Secret Store entries:
    ORACLE.SECURITY.DB.ENCRYPTION.ASSSDSeFDX08Evy6Mco2yhXsAsdsdsdsdsdefdfdfdfddfddfdfdfAAAA
    ORACLE.SECURITY.DB.ENCRYPTION.MASTERKEY
    Trusted Certificates:
As i uderstood there should be also entry like ORACLE.SECURITY.TS.ENCRYPTION. But why this didn't created into wallet by command : alter system set encryption key identified by "sdsdsdsds" ?
    Thanks!

    Hi there,
first, "SQLNET.CRYPTO_SEED = 'KakdlkLAKMXM0000sdsdsadadeffdmsdmdkmdv" is no longer needed, the DB creates a seed itself and ignores this string.
Then, on to TDE ...: These things happen if you had a wallet before, and that wallet was deleted; now if you create a new wallet, the TS MK is missing. Looks like you didn't encrypt any data yet. You might see if you get https://updates.oracle.com/download/8682102.html for your DB version; apply the patch, decrypt all data, cycle through all log files and then create a new wallet. That might work, but I can't promise.
