External callers unable to join conference calls

Scenario:  A conference call is set up using the scheduler.  Lync users are able to join the conference calls.  Users from outside PSTN are unable to join the call.  They get to the attendant, and are told they are being joined to the
conference, then get a message "Sorry, I can't seem to connect you to your meeting right now.  Goodbye." and the call disconnects.
Looking at call traces, I see the following error messages in the CAAServer log:

The trunks are configured with REFER off and MediaBypass Off.
We have recently moved to a direct SIP trunk from a vendor on Microsoft's Certified list.
Lync version is 2010, with the latest CUs applied.  All other calling appears to be working correctly.  The certificate on the servers are using the SHA1 algorithm (I have seen some similar issues discussed if this was not the case.)
At this point, I have reached the end of my immediate troubleshooting skills with this system.  Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what might be going on here?
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
Please check if the default gateway associated to the Mediation Server is up or not.
Please check if Media traffic on the Gateway be blocked with the issue of wrong encryption. Make sure it is using SRTP (not RTP). If you use RTP, please change it and then test again.

  • External callers cannot connect to conference call

Hello to anyone that can help. The situation I have is that we switched to SIP trunk direct connect to our Mediation server and since have not been able to connect PSTN calls to a conference call. The person dials in and is told they are being connected
and then a few seconds later they are told Sorry I can't seem to connect you to the conference. This worked before the phone vendor change. The new phone vendor is telling me that everything looks okay on their end and their Lync server is not having this
issue. They are citing the reason for the call failure is because our Lync server is sending a call re-invite even though nothing about the call has changed. I have seen this in the pcap and in snooper. The lync server connects the call, and then sends a re-invite
when it tries to connect the external call to the conf call. The reason for the failure is a 100 trying then a 503 from the vendor's gateway. This appears to be normal behavior, but the vendor states that when their Lync server connects a conf call it does
not send a re-invite to the gateway.
The environment is Lync server 2013 Fe and Mediation server configured with two network interfaces. One to the SIP provider and another to our internal network. We also have an edge server. Previous to the change we were using our own SBC connected to two
PRIs for PSTN connectivity. I have decommissioned the paths for the old pstn gateway, but I need it in place for a door phone that we have. The dial plan and voice policy all are pointed to the new pstn gateway. Everything else in Lync works. I can call a
user form a conf call, but they cannot call in. I have seen other people mentioning using snooper to look at the S4 component logs. I am doing that now, but if anyone has any other advice I would appreciate it. The issue appears to be that our Lync server
is sending a re-invite when one is not anticipated and I do not know how to stop it. Refer is turned off.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    1.  Check if the Media Gateway is certified by Microsoft with the help of the link below:
         http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dn788945
    2.  Check if there are any error message on Mediation Server when the issue happen next time.
    3.  Double check dialin plan on Lync Server Control Panel, make sure all dialin plan are updated.

  • Unable to make conference call + calls dropping with iPhone 6? :(

I have an iPhone 6 and i keep experiencing my phone calls randomly dropping out on me. I would sometimes hear a beeping noise and then a 'call failed' message would appear on the screen. Other times the call would just cut off and the screen would go back to the caller information or the home screen. Second problem is that i cannot create a conference call.  Please help!

    Hi ,
To make the conference call, click here for information.
The dropped calls, is this the one area?
Do you have any problems with texts?
    Thanks.

  • Lync 2013 Android Client - Intermittently unable to join conference

    Hi
I've just finished installing Lync 2013 on our network (single Front End, Single Edge, Reverse Proxy Server and Office Web Apps Server).
Everything works fine currently, with one exception:
When a user tries to join a meeting from the Lync 2013 client on Android (Lollipop), the call generally sits there "connecting..." before it fails to connect with a message of "Can't connect the call".
Sometimes when rejoin is pressed it will connect, but most of the time it fails.
Testing on a Windows Phone client (and Full/Basic Lync 2013 desktop client and Windows 8.1 App)  it works every time
Is it possible this is a Lollipop compatibility issue or does Android require something that the other devices and clients don't?
    Thanks for any suggestions
    Andy

    Hi Zahoor
    Thanks for the response
Although you suggest it's not a compatibility issue, other devices seem to connect fine on the same account and same wifi, so I'm still tending towards a hardware / os  compatibility issue.
I have now tested on a (very old) Samsung Galaxy S (i9000) running Cyanogenmod 11 (KitKat).  This works absolutely fine every time.
The device I'm currently seeing issues with is a Nexus 5 running Lollipop.
As I said they're both on the same account and same wifi.  Wifi is strong (sitting by the router), internet is a decent speed (150Mbps) and they are external clients.
When I'm back in the office I'll try some other devices to see if they have any problems.I've had a quick look through the logs and couldn't see anything that stood out, but I'll investigate again after seeing if the other devices work.
    Cheers

  • Join conference via Lync call rather than Call Me At

We have deployed Lync Server 2013 and are just beginning to deploy it in small doses to portions of the organization.  We are using a combination of Lync 2010 and 2013 for clients.  This post is regarding the Lync 2013 client.
We use Lync with Cisco telephony via Remote Call Control.  We do have PC-to-PC calling enabled in addition to RCC (the Telephony setting in Lync Control Panel on the user accounts is "Remote Call Control").  We are not using Enterprise
    Voice.
After deploying Lync as simply an IM + telephony client, we have begun to focus on rolling out the web conferencing functionality.  In doing so, we have noticed strange behavior which I describe below.
Let us assume that someone other than me creates web conference by selecting two people, including me, in their Lync contacts list in the client, right clicks, and selects "Start a conference all" and then chooses "Lync call".  I
see a Lync toast notification appear, inviting me to a conference.  It says the conference organizer's name and says "Conference Call".  If I click the toast to accept the conference, my Cisco telephone extension immediately begins to ring.
In the meantime, in the Lync conference in the client I see "Join Conference Call" and "Other".  If I answer answer my telephone extension or push the Join Conference Call button, I am successfully joined to the Lync audio conference
and can speak with anyone else that joined the conference, whether they are using Lync audio or Cisco telephony.
The problem is that there are cases where we want to do a video conference.  I am aware that can only be done if using Lync audio rather than the Cisco telephony.  I can disconnect from the conference call by hanging up my Cisco extension.
When I do so, the Lync conference in the client shows a notification that gives me the option to rejoin the conference.  The "Rejoin" button has a down arrow, and if I expand it I can select "Rejoin using Lync Call" and if I do that
I can now see others' webcams and can share my own webcam with the conference.
My question is: how can I elect to join the conference in the first place with a Lync call rather than having the Lync conference bridge dial my Cisco extension?  There does not seem to be a way to do this that we can get to work.  For instance,
I mentioned that after I have clicked the Lync toast notification after being added to the conference and my Cisco phone begins ringing that I see the options "Join Conference Call" and "Other" in Lync client.  If I open the Other
options, I see "Join using Lync Call" as an option.  If I select that option, my Cisco phone answers the call and I am joined to the Lync audio conference with my Cisco phone and not Lync audio.
Please note that I already checked the Phone section in the Lync 2013 client options and the box "Before I join meetings, ask which audio device I want to use" is checked and the "Join meeting audio" drop-down box is set to "Lync".

Sorry, I misread your question and now see that I did not pre-emptively answer it.  I just tested it and unchecked the box "Before I join meetings, ask which audio device I want to use" and made sure "Join meeting audio" was set to "Lync".  Even
after doing so, the behavior is the same:  the Cisco phone automatically rings and any action to join the conference results in the Cisco phone extension being picked up.
Basically, it seems that if you use that "Start a Conference Call" option from the Lync contacts list, the Lync preferences set in the recipients' Lync clients are ignored.  If you schedule a Lync conference via Outlook or people use the Lync meeting
URL in their Internet browser, it does respect the preferences correctly.  It seems like it might be a bug.
I would be interested if any other Lync Server 2013 users with Lync client 2013 and using RCC could repeat my tests and see if they have the same issue.

    Hey vattokutraj,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
This issue can be resolved by your network service provider.  I would suggest getting a new SIM card from airtel.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Unable to split up conference call on iPhone5

When i am on a conference call and i want to disconnect one of the callers, my only option is to disconnect the conference call all together!!! I called verizon wireless and they said "verizon removed that feature"!!! This is really frustrating and annoying!!!! when are they going to reactivate that feature again???? If nokias or sony ericsons from the 1990's were able to split up a conference call why can't a futuristic iPhone do that??? Also if i am on conference call and want to speak on one of the parties privately, i am unable to do that either!!!

This solution worked for me PERFECTLY.
If for some reason you can not pick up the calls:
System-> Settings-> Customization-> Manage notificaciones-> Here is a section of "disabled" check InCallUI is on (green tick)
Now I can use the phone normally.
Mr_O thank you very much for the solution.

  • External Callers occasionally get "Sorry, I didn't get that. Please enter a Conference ID and then press #"

Cisco Phone System with Lync Server 2013 CU4
I now have two instances where a recurring meeting of 17 callers where some external callers get:
They dialed the number and get the response “Welcome to the Audio Conferencing Center.  Please enter a conference ID followed by #”
They typed the conference code, it waited about 15 seconds then replied with “Sorry, I didn’t get that.  Please enter a Conference ID and then press #”
this lasts about 10 minutes, then folks can get into the conference.
This audio file matches what occurs if you call the Conferencing Center and then do not press any buttons.  That makes me think that DTMF are not arriving from the Cell Phones.  This is a weekly meeting that works most of the time.
Any ideas where I should look?

    Hi,
Did the issue happen only for this Lync meeting or for all Lync meetings? Please create another recurring meeting with the same 17 callers to test if the issue happen again.
It may the issue of because the PSTN Conference ID mapping is orphaned in your SQL database. Therefore, Lync Server 2013 cannot find the Conference ID.
You can refer to the link about how to repair the issue below:

  • MeetMe with external callers

Is it possible for external callers to join a meetme conference without DID numbers on CME?   Our internal meetme works just fine.
    Thanks

Unfortunatley the external caller can't dial the meetme number since there are no DID's (there is no receptionist either) However, when the AA picks up I was hoping to have the external caller dial the meetme extension at that time.  The AA bombs out and says it is an invalid number.  Any other ideas?

  • Conference calls not connecting/dropping

i am having issues using my conference calling feature on my iphone. The second and or third call gets dropped about 30 seconds into the call. Is this morelikely a ATT issue or an iphone issue?

I as well. 2nd caller get's hung up on when trying to conf to the 1st caller.
No options for releasing callers, or holding all but 1 for a private conf, then re-joining, etc.
My Droid does a way better job!
    What gives Apple/Verizon - what/when's the fix?
