Extraction of 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_11_VAITM

Experts,
We have new BI system and connected to ECC.
I have activated the captioned DataSources in RSA5 and can see them in RSA6. In LBWE, I have activated the MC11VA0HDR and MC11VA0ITM by changing the Inactive on right side to active. Then filled the setup tables using TCode - OLI7BW which can be checked in NPRT and it shows 29 records. RSA3 also shows records for the datasources. Tables MC11VA0HDRSETUP and MC11VA0ITMSETUP shows 116 records .... so looks ECC side everything is okay.
Replicating dataSources in BI, migrated with Export option and created InfoPackage to load data to PSA as INIT ..... it says No data available. Connection should be fine as master data can be extracted successfully.
Can you comment why it is unable to extract data when it is available in ECC.

Diagnosis
No IDocs could be sent to BI using RFC.
System Response
There are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of BI.
Further analysis:
Check the TRFC log.
You can access this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".
Error handling:
If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is fully connected to BI. In particular, check the authorizations of the background user in the source system.
No data available
Diagnosis
The data request was a full update.
In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not
contain any data.
System Response
Info IDoc received with status 8.
Procedure
Check the data basis in the source system.

Hi ,
Please see the log details of the background job in SM37.It seems that your job is completed successfully,but if you see the logs you could able to find whether the background job extracted any records or not. It will give you the no of records extracted by this extractor in the log details.If the extractor extracted records ,then it might be the problem of connection.
Also use tcode SU01 and then goto 'Logon Data' screen to see whether the user is locked or not. If the user is locked ,it will give you the message. But i don't think it is a root-cause ,anyway just check it .

I'm working on a project under BW 7.0 release. Actually,I'm facing a problem between standard 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_11_VAITM (IS and DS). I activated both of them from BC (IS and DS), but the IS is under 3.5 release and DS under 7.0 release. The problem is how I can take either IS from 3.5 to 7.0 or DS from 7.0 to 3.5 in order to have both objects in the same release, so that I can create a transter rule between them.
I really appreciate help any help you can give me.

Try T code se16 in BI..give table name RSOSFIELDMAP..next give OLTP source as 2LIS_11_VAHDR( Ur data source) in IOBJNM filed give ur respective target field name. This will give u the corresponding source field name....hope this helps

Extraction from logistics and different ecc tables

I want to get the data from 2lis_11_vahdr and 2lis_11_vaitm and also from tables of too1,tvakt,vbkd,knvI,VBKD,KONP.So
Please let me know how many datasources I have to create and on what basis I have to make join...or how we can make relations. or is there any alternative to do.

Hi,
Have you received your technical specs?
if yes then please read them and find the required data sources.
Number of data sources is not the main important. But we need to get all fields into bw side(targets) as per your needs.
First find the existing data sources based on your tables - too1,tvakt,vbkd,knvI,VBKD,KONP.
After that cors check what fields you want as per needs and later do the test at RSA3 for standard or cusotm data sources.
Late implement bw data flow at bw side.
T001 - is company code table. so you can use comp code master data sources to load data into bw side.
TVAK - its sales doc type table. so you can explore LO Data sources which name starts with 2LIS_11*
About tables and relations - please check with ABAP TEeam or functional team. You my get more help about them.

2lis_11_vahdr and extraction in PSA

Hi experts,
I'm finding some problems in a delta extraction with 2lis_11_vahdr datasource ito PSA in BW 7.0
The delta extracted the same orders many times, although their fields never change.
There are many records deleting (with the ROCANCEL field set to 'X') and writing the same order with the same values.
Ex.

The problem is that the PSA table contains may unuseful records, wasting disk space.

My next question is: admitting that a modification has been done on that order, is it normal that the datasource extracts it also if none of its fields have been modified ?

2lis_11_vascl and 2lis_11_vaitm delta issues

Hi ALL,
I am pulling data from Sales order datasources like 2lis_11_vahdr, 2lis_11_vaitm, 2lis_11_vascl, 2lis_11_vasti and 2lis_11_vasth.
I have some problem with standard extractor of 2lis_11_vascl and 2lis_11_vaitm of not capturing the delta properly. I am currently analysing the issue.
Could any one please clear my below doubts.
1. When ever there is a change to schedule line 2lis_11_vascl to a sales order - does the header and item level also come as a delta?.
2. Secondly i find the delta is correctly captured in Item status datasource 2lis_11_vasti whereas i am missing many documents in item level details datasource 2lis_11_vaitm. Have any one faced this issue. Really finding it difficult to debug the standard extractor.
I could sense that i am missing documents in item level only for a particular item category(Third part order).
It would be great if anyone could explain the above two questions to clear my doubt.

                                2AF_SD_SLS_1 with data. Extraction records are generated for the sales order event.
2LIS_11_V_SCL : This DataSource provides the BW with data from the Sales area and supplies the key figure Open Order
                              Quantity in the InfoSource 2AF_SD_SLS_2 with data. Extraction records are generated for the sales order
                               and delivery events.

How to extract the size and date from a given file

Hi,
I want to extract the size and date of a file (it can be either a video, audio or text file) that the user points to the location of. But I am not sure how. Does Java have an api that can do this? If not is there some other way of doing this? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Have a look at java.io.File, specifically
public long lastModified()
This format returned (I find) is nasty, so then use java.util.Date (or java.sql.Date, look the same on the surface to me) to format it.

All the values of cost value and sale values are getting stored in bseg-wrbtr field .
How to identify them uniquely.
Or there is another way to find the sale and cost values.

Hi Mave!
Normally there is no condition change, when something is sold.
But sales price depends on sales conditions (not only price, but also surcharges, discounts, taxes - if customized).
Nevertheless, after selling you have a invoice document, where correct values <i>should</i> be stored (see VBRP fields mentioned above). If here is a problem, then customizing of price determination is in question, not a programming of user-exits with MARD selection for costs (or some other tries to get a price).
When you specify your requirements more in detail, you might get better answers - but currently only general hints are possible ('see in invioce / G/L accounts').

How to use SELECT statement to extract KNA1-NAME1 and KNB1-ZSABE

In building table I_KNA1 in form f_extract_data, an additional select statement is needed to select and append datafrom (KNA1 and KNB1) to existing I_KNA1
In form f_extract_data table i_kna1 is populated with data from zd_kna101.(where ZD_KNA101 is a view of KNA1, KNB1 and KNBK. It's a joint of these three tables.) This will take care of all customers with KNBK-BANKL and KNBK-BANLN populated. But this does not include new customers created in SAP CRM (no KNBK records). Therefore a separate SELECT statement is needed to extract KNA1-NAME1 and KNB1-ZSABE for customers created in SAP CRM(the customers who do do not have BANKL and BANKN). These selected records are then need to be appended to I_KNA1. It's possible that new selection statement might extract records that are already in existing I_KNA1 table. IF this is the case, right after the append, sort I_KNA1 and remove duplicate records.

I would suggest using the join on KUNNR. Maybe something like this.

Can someone please recommend a method of extraction from BSAS and BSIS to BW.Is there a standard datasource available for this or do we have to do it through Generic extraction?

Hi Priya,
To avoid the complexity of converting XML's to Idocs without XI or ABAP programming you can easily go for the LSMW uploading.
I know your company does not want to use the LSMW process.However if you are trying with the XML ports for the XML to Idoc convertion it will further involve extensive coding and complexities.
On the other hand you can extract MDM data in simple Excel format and then use LSMW with simple mappings and conversion to upload this master data in ECC without much difficulty.
As to work with the MDM and ECC system data transfer avoiding both XI and Lsmw as the data transfer tools will make your scenario more complex and error prone with ofcourse the extra time factor involved.

         2LIS_02_ITM purchasing datasource brings GR, IR value, quantity and amount only base on Process Key.
        Anyone know how to extract Downpayment (Prepayment) and Payment documents to the BW of the data?

           Do you know the name of the datasource for those Downpayment and payment?
            Also how can I check for the EKBE-VGABE (Transaction Type/Event) from R/3 on BW? The value of Transaction Type/Event will say if the VGABE if the amount is IR, GR, Downpayment and payment.

Hi Kalyani,
We normally go for View or infoset when the data to be fetched in BW is distributed in different tables in SAP R/3.
Had the data been available in one table we can easily build our datasource on that table but if there are more tables then its not possible to do it without Views or Infosets. You can use Function Modules to build your datasource in case it involves complex logic to figure out the data from various tables.
Depending upon the table relationships we create view and include various fields from these tables in that view. Same is with the Infosets, you can have more flexible options like Outer Join, left outer Join etc.

I am trying to read data from more than one file at once. The files are different types e.g. one is a text file one is an xml file like so, StudentInformation.txt, CollegeInformation.xml. The files are all stored in one place, in this case on the D drive of
a local computer. I am trying to locate any files in the D drive with a file extension of .txt or of .xml (there may be more than two of these files in the future, so I'm trying to allow for that). Then I want to open all of these files, extract the information
and output all the information in one display window. I want all the information from these two or more files to be displayed together in the display window.
Here is the code so far. It is throwing up errors.
