Hi,
I have a requirement, such as say, there are two databases having their own employees table. I need to query them both and show them in the UI using the af table tag. Any idea how this can be achieved efficiently please ?

Hi,
Always mention your JDev version. Are you going to make the resultant data as read-only? If yes, you can create a db link pointing to another schema, and then use union all to merge the data in the query of the VO.
Ex:
select col1, col2, col3 from table1
union all
select col1, col2, col3 from table2@db_link_pointing_to_diff_schema

Usually, if two users try to update the same row at the same time, you want the first to commit to succeed, and when the second commits, they should fail with the error that the row was being concurrently updated. They you may want to show them the new row values and give them the opportunity to merge their values with the new row values...

I'm not sure whether I understand your question. If one user changes a record then you would like other users to see those changes. Normally those changes will be visible to other users when they refresh their browser, after the first user has committed changes to the record. I you want to be sure that the same row isn't updated at the same time by to different user, you need to configure some locking (pessimistic locking) - this depends of what technology you use. In EJB3 pessimistic locking is performed by adding a version to every entity object. If you are using ADF, the framework is able to handle either pessimistic or even optimistic locking.
If you want the changed row to be updated in other users browsers without any user interaction by these users, you should take a look at Reverse Ajax (ex. DWR http://ajaxian.com/archives/reverse-ajax-with-dwr) - or Ajax in general. But you will never get a realtime solution, where changes is visible in other users browsers right after each record update.

Downloading songs from two different computers, and not recognizing songs

On my home computer, I downloaded about 40 songs onto my IPod from CDs. Then, I installed the program on my work computer, and purchased four songs from ITunes. When I plug my IPod into my work computer, it is not recognizing the songs I downloaded from my home computer. However, if I plug my IPod into my work computer, I can listen to these four purchased songs, but once I try to listen to them without having it plugged into my work computer, only the songs I downloaded from home are on the IPod.
Has this happened to anyone else who has tried to put songs from two different computers onto their IPod?

Just to elaborate a bit, you need to copy the purchased files and put them on your home computer.
Don't burn them as an audio CD as you will lose quality when you re-import them.
You can use the Shuffle (instead of a CD) to do this

I have two lists. One is for Designations and another is for
Hirings. Designations list holds all available designations and Hiring list has list of hired employees. Data may look like following...

Unfortunatly you didn't mention the expected output. I guess it would be the one line
"www.testing.com"
in that case simply join the two tables.

where v.sa_id=21;I usually avoid distinct/unique whereever possible. This requires the database to do a sort and makes the query slow.

Using aperture from two different accounts and email notifications

I have two issues. The first is that I have setup up two accounts on my iMac but I can't get both to use the same library. Both accounts have the exact same permissions and access.
The second is that I get emails from this forum on every topic/notification and I want to stop it. The notification emails have instructions on how to do this but when I go to "My Subscriptions" there aren't any to delete.

As previously stated you options depend on your Oracle version and platform and the target version and platform for the remote non-Oracle (well in this case mySQL) database.
Oracle replaced HS or Generic Connectiivy with a new name and support module on 11g and maybe in 10g. You can see your manual CD or check the online documentation.
For that matter you need to check to see if the Transparent Gateway product has a mySQL driver.

I want to execute single a VO query multiple times with different parameters and show the results together in a Table at once
In Detail
I have a table to which is associated with a VO.
The VO contains SQL whose WhereClauseParameters need to be dynamically binded.say headerId and lineId
Select ... from ....where headerId = :1 AND lineId = :2
I have to pass these 4 values and show all the results in a single table
headerId lineid
H1 ............... L1
H1 ............... L2
H2 ............... L1
H2 ............... L2
I understand that i need to bind parameters dynamically and exceute the VO.
As i have 4 different set of parameters, the view object will be executed 4 times.
I want to show all the results together in a single table.
How can I do it.

The Columns 5 to 7 are dependent on Combination of Model,Tube,Float and Size.
Hence will this query work properly(without mixing up data from other Pk combination) and will it be efficient?(I Know this is a stupid qst, still double checking..As your solution assumes that each row is unique for Model only..which is not true)

Unfortunately this all seems a little rough around the edges -- for example, I have found updates for AppStore apps on the support.apple.com updates download site, but then when I install them via ARD they don't actually update the software. (The AppStore icons still show as needing the updates, and the version info reports the old version.) The documentation is also vague about which AppleID to use in which circumstance. I think they just haven't finished thinking through the implications of the various procedures and policies upon the various kinds of customers. When we deployed Mountain Lion on the school lab, we made an install usb and went around and installed it on each computer -- and it appears that you are on the honor system as far as paying for all of the licenses that you install. We did! But they appear to have no way to enforce it.
So far, I have only deployed 9 Lion macs in my day job, and our "solution" to the AppStore showing updates problem has been to drag the AppStore icon off of the users' docks so they don't see them!
