Fields in active DSO table.

Why it shows the field name as /BIC/ZIOBJ(for custom InfoObject)?
Due to that...error is occurring in reporting.
How can i fix this? Pls guide me.

Hi,
All the Z infoobjects will have filed name starting with /bic/ .
Try using standard Infoobject 0CP_GROUP if it meets your requiremtn(lenght and datatype) .
But how does this causes error in report ?
I seriously doubt this is the cause of any error you are facing .
Can you let us know what error you are facing excatly .

Data mising in few fields while activating DSO

Folks,
Here is a situation.
I am loading GL line Items into a DSO. In the transformation, I have written a End routine to read into another DSO and fill some custom fields.
After DTP, I see these new fields populated in the New Data table for the GL DSO. Once I activate and Look into the active table contents, The data in the Custom fields populated by the end routine is missing.
I thing I am missing something here. Can anyone help.
In a nutshell, I see the data in New Data Table and after activation the information which is populated by end routine is missing in the Active Data table.

Hi Sam
When you write a end routine, by default, only fields that have a rule in the transformation are transferred from the end routine.
There is a button in your transformation close to the end routine button which will change the behavior of the end routine. Set it to all target fields.
As a result, fields that are only filled in the end routine are updated and are not lost.
This should solve your problem

DSO activation: Data in new data table but missing in active data table?

we use an end routine in transformation to populate a data field in DSO.
it works as we can see the value populated in new data table.
when we activate (activation) DSO, we see the value is deleted from this data field.
why?
this data field is set as an characteristic info obj in the data field portion of the DSO.
we are using 2004s, I forget to check the SP level.

Are these key fields in 'Direct Update' DSO table in BW on HANA (BW740SP7) correct?

Pls see below for a very strange behaviour of all active tables of type 'Direct Update' DSO in our system.
Is this a bug or is this somehow supposed to be like this (i.e. a feature)?

DSO upload and no data in Active data table

Hi Experts,
I have a strange problem.I have loaded data to DSO from DS in BI7. It has the further uplaod to cube.I have activated the DSO and it went sucessfull and had Request ID generated. It has added and transfer records available like 150000 records as I have done full upload. strangly I cannot see any data in Active data table.
Pls advise how can I check the data I am doing some mistake.I have data mart status for this DSO. the deletion of the DSO and reloading could that create the data not visible in DSO even after activation

Hi,
I believe this got something to do with the display setting.. After displaying the data, get into the settings menu and look for Layout option --> display --> see if there is any default setting applied.. change this setting to something else.. create a setting with all the columns dragged & dropped.. These are the options you can try..
If this did not resolve.. please try displaying the data from SE16 transaction and post us the results..

Error while loading to active data table in DSO

please help me in resolving the issue with active data table . when i am activating the new data table the job gets cancelled with message as 'Error when assigning SID: Action VAL_SID_CONVERT table OCALMONTH'.

Hi,
In the displaying error message tab of ODS activation, you will get error message and invalid value for the 0CALMONTH will be displayed. Search the NEW TABLE of ODS with the same value, identify the error records.
If you have PSA in the flow, delete (w/o making the status RED), correct data in PSA and reconstruct the data.
If you don't have PSA, you have to delete by making red, reload through PSA correcting the erroneous data in PSA.

Data lost after activating DSO

Hello,
I have a Problem with Standard DSO. We load data in the standard DSO and in the transformation is an end routine to fill an specific field Bpartner with the Bpartner number from antoher DSO. After the load In the DSO table new data is everything okay (Bpartner filled from the other DSO) but when I'm activating that DSO in the table active data Bpartner is empty. Has anyone a solution/explanation for this problem?

In the Transformation, set the BPARTNER to a constant value and leave that value. This will then cause the activation to move the BPARTNER that's entered in the End Routne to populate on the Active table during activation.

Regarding Field Missing in Dso Transformation

I am facing the issue like
In Datasouce to DSO transformation i can see the 55 objects in DSO table, and in DSO to Cube Transformation i can see 54 fields in DSO table, one field is missing , the object 0TXTSH(short discription) is mapped to field 0TXZ01in DS to DSO transformation.
so How can i get the field in DSO to Cube transformation.??
any settings have to be change???

Please identify the object and check it whether it is an attribute or a characteristic, if it is attribute only disable that option then check it.

Error While Activating the Table

i have created a table name ZEMPLOY11 in ABAP Dictionary containing fields Client [NUM] Carieer [NUM] Firstname [CHAR] and Surname [CHAR] and save it . when i activated this table it shows and error Mesage "Errors occurred during activation". kindly help me out
i have created few more tables and faceing the same problem

Hi Ammad,
Could you please paste the error what you are getting so that we can help you in a bettre way, I think most probably you haven't assign a key variable while creating the table, so in the screen where you have mentioned the fiels Client NUM Carieer NUM Firstname CHAR and Surname CHAR ,mark client and carrioer as key fields, then try to activate it after setting the technical setting of the table.
Hope now you will able to activate your tables.

Filling Data fields of a DSO in End Routine

Hi Everyone,
The data fields of a DSO contains 2 key figures and a characteristic.
In the End routine of the transformation, i have assigned constant values for the infoobjects in the data field.
After executing the DTP, if I check in the New Table of the DSO, these constant values are present. But when I activate the DSO, the values for key figures gets initialised and the values for the characterisitic becomes empty (NULL).
Is it not possible to assign values for the infoobjects in the data field? If so, why is this limitation?

Uma,
To populate any field in the end routine, you have to assign some constant in the transformation first and then re-populate them using the end routine.
Sometimes if you dont assign any constant in transformation, the values remain initial and even after you write a code fo that field, it is not populated in the end routine.
All you have to do is assign constant 0 to the key figures you are populating in the end routine and run the DTP again.

Key fields and data fields in a DSO ??

i have a question regarding key fields and data fields in a Standard DSO...
i am using 2 datasources to build a open sales report 2LIS_11_VASTH and 2LIS_11_VASTI i am pulling in data from these 2 data sources to a DSO and i am wondering what infoobjects should be in the key fields and data fields .....does this reflect back to table VBUK and VBUP tables and does the key field in the DSO have to be the key fields in VBUK and VBUP tables ???? or what really should be included as key fields and data fields ????

If you look at the various SD tables, VBELN and POSNR are commonly used as the document number and document line item.
For VBAP and VBUP, it's referring to the Sales Order Line Item with the columns VBELN and POSNR as the key for both tables. However, if you look at the LIPS table, which is the Delivery Line Item table, it too has VBELN and POSNR as the key. Likewise, the VTTP table, which is the Shipment Line Item table, also has VBELN and POSNR as the key.
While using RSOSFIELDMAP as a map is a fairly good "rule of thumb", it still needs to be used with a level of skepticism.

BDCDATA-PROGRAM-----> this field describes the module pool program name which we are used for vaidating and updating the data.
BDCDATA-DYNPRO----
> this field describes the currently active screen.
BDCDATA-DYNBEGIN-------> this field describes the default or initial screen.
BDCDATA-FNAM----
> this field describes the field name which we are used in validations.
BDCDATA-FVAL----
> this field describes the field value which we are used in validations.
by using the above table we perfome the mapping logic in BDC for validating and updating the legacy system data.

Direct link between SES to activity in tables?

hello all
is there a way to have a direct link between a Service entry sheet and its activities in tables?
so far, the only link we found is the following:
table ESSR enter SES number: get package number and enter it in table ESLL. this will give me a sub package which I can enter in the package number by running a search on table ESLL again.
can i get this process by making only one link instead of twice?

lets see: service entry sheets have activity lines.
the SES is in table ESSR while the activity lines are in table ESLL.
in order to make the link between the SES and its own activity lines, I use the package number from table ESSR but, this package number, is NOT a direct link.
meaning: the steps I follow are like this:
1) enter SES number in table ESSR and get Package number
2) enter package number in table ESLL and get SUB package number
3) enter SUB package number in field package number in table ESLL: this will give me finally the activities related to the SES.
what I want, is a direct link: SES, package number, activity (or any direct link is fine)

Error on activating the table "DB length of the key of table too large"

Hi Experts,
I am getting the error while activating my table PSM_REQ_BO_ELM_NAME. Activation error log is as follows
"DB length of the key of table PSM_REQ_BO_ELM_NAME is too large (>900)"..
I have a table which has 4 filed as key one with char 6 and rest 3 with char 120 each.
Could you please help me to get rid of this error.

When ever we create a table in Data dictionary, a corresponding database table will be created in Data base server. For the primary key we maintained in Data Dictionary, another data base table will be created seperately where as the table length should not exceed some limit set by the Administrator.
So, Reduce the length of the primary key in the table by deleting the field as key field/ reducing the size of the field.
In your case, maintain the primary key field length not more than 400.
***Length if the Primary key should not exceed 120. other wise performance will be low while fetching the data.
