    Sounds to me like the file is probably corrupt. If you had hard drive corruption or damage, that could easily result in recovered files not being fully intact. If you were trying to recover accidentally deleted files, it's possible they might have been partially overwritten before recovering. There are never any guarantees with file recovery.
    Without more information on the circumstances that led you to try recovery, it's hard to give advice on what to try from here. You could always try another file recovery tool, like Data Rescue 3. Just be sure you're taking appropriate precautions when doing recovery. See Recovering deleted files.

    I have just bought this ext drive and have been happily transferring photos, suddenly this message appears:

    What does this mean? Is it dead already?

    Please check this!
    Please also start the command prompt console (CMD) and type this:
    f:
    press enter
    dir
    press enter
    Now you should get a list of data stored on the HDD.
    Does it work?
    Thanks so much for your help Jeffrey, I have just used the error check on the ext hard drive and that seems to have fixed it, but I will note your fix in case of future problems.

    Is BlackBerry Link installed in a Windows user account with administrative privileges? If not, could you please try uninstalling it and reinstalling it in this user account? If it is installed in this user account, please have a look at this KB article for more information. • Receive File Adapter - Error in CallSAPAdapter Name not known

    Using xml to File Adapter. Just want to store the xml file somewhere ie on XI Server in folder E:\usr\sap\interface\XMLfiles
    Getting error in Adapter Engine - Exception caught by adapter framework: Object not found in lookup of CallSAPAdapter.
    Delivery of the message to the application using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Object not found in lookup of CallSAPAdapter.: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Object not found in lookup of CallSAPAdapter..

    I can see the Communication Channel in the monitor green.
    Any ideas to find the problem
    thanks,

    I tried changing the communication channel as suggested with no further success. I have viewed the LogViewer on the server in cluster->server->logs defaultTrace.trc and com.sap.xi -> xi.log with no more information available.
    So is it that I cannot do a simple XML send to file receiver and leave its content unchanged?

    Now I have been reading all the documentation available and forum questions in this area but there is a lot of information but not quite for what I am currently trying to do. I need to preserve the xml file as xml for further processing. This is just a resting place for the file as I am trying to cut down a long running (over a day) collect BPM scenario by collecting the files in the directory then triggering the collect scenario to read in the files from this directory and perform all the processing and mapping in one chunk of short time. (But that is another story)
    Any more suggestions appreciated could the SAPCallAdapter not be where I think it is? Does my directory and filename case have to be exact lower and upper case. (I will test this tomorrow)...and let you know if any difference and continue to read the links put on by the other person who answered.
    thanks,

  • V557 File Tansfer Errors... but not every time

    I have been able to browse and transfer files 3 times (and unable countless times). Only once under 10.4.5 then the second time after updating to 10.4.6 and then one more time after deleting preferences (which I cannot re-produce). I have tried rebooting, powering bluetooth, phone, computer off & on, pulling batteries, repairing permissions, etc etc etc. I can successfully pair and connect but when I try to browse files I get one of 2 errors...
    The last operation failed: an unknown error (ffffaa8c) has

    The last operation failed bad request
    Sometimes it will stay connected after the error, other times it will show a connection for about 6 sec then the connection will drop
    I now cannot find any combination of things which will allow me to reconnect.
    I am not trying to sync, only do file transfers for audio and photos
    Any Ideas? Thanks

  • Database connection error ORA-01034 oracle not available

    Hi
    Can some one help me out from this probs. I have a oracle8.15 enterprize edition running on solaris 5.6. It's been running fine since few months from deffent clients. But today its giving ORA-01034 error when i try to connect to database from cliend side. I found that database is up and running and we can access it on server. But from client i am getting the above error. Oracle documentation shows " The operating system variable pointing to the instance is improperly defined".
    I would aprreciate if some body helps out of this problem.
    Thanks in advance
    K. Srinivas

    Hi,
    Oracle uses the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID variables to create a unique shared memory hash key for each instance.
    This problem can happen if your environment variables are set differently when the database is started compared to the user who is getting the error. The error indicates that the executable (sqlplus, svrmgrl) can't find the shared memory segment, which means that the ORACLE_HOME variable is not set correctly somewhere.

  • Files backed up in a DVD not accessible, why?

    I just bought a nice external Iomega DVD burner. Works fine and I was able to back up tons of files. To check that these files were accessible, I also tried to read the DVD on my PC. No problem, files are there, I can open them, perfect.
    Yesterday I tried to check them in my ibook before the major erase/install process I want to do, and I can see the folders and files, BUT when I try to launch any of them, they vanish in the air!!! It seems for a second they will open, but then nothing happens, except they disappear from the Finder. This happens with every single file, .doc, .xls, .jpg, .tiff, .pdf, and so on. Folders remain untouched.
    After some files disappearing, I do Get Info on the specific Folder and it cannot estimate its size. I tried to copy them to my ibook but I can't do it, even if I try to copy an entire folder, it only copies the folder, but there's nothing inside it.
    I tried also to read the DVD in my internal ibook drive and it happens likewise.
    If I get the DVD back to my PC, files are there and I can open them with no problems.
    What is wrong? Any ideas?
    iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9) External Iomega DVD burner
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Carl, thanks for your reply.
    I can drag the file to the desktop but it does not copy it. I also tried copying a whole folder with files inside it but only the folder is copied, but nothing that was inside it is copied. I also tried to open the files directly from the application required in each case, but it doesn't open them (they're greyed out).
    Yes, I need to erase my HD because an update from 10.3.8 to 10.3.9 caused a series of problems I described in other thread. I tried to do the Archive and Install, but a number of applications were already upgraded to 10.3.9 so they don't run anymore. Anyway, that's another story.
    I finally decided to use Roxio to erase the DVD and burn it again. Result: perfect, flawless process and now I can see everything as I should, documents are there, can be opened, and so on.
    I don't have the explanation for the problems, but what is for sure is that the crappy piece of software that Iomega included with the DVD burner was not working fine. It´s called Discribe by Charismac Engineering. The recording session was done under the "Build a Mac HFS" mode, so I supposed this program prepared automatically the DVD and recorded it as it should, but it turned up that it didn't.
    So I solved the problem by means of another software, a good one, and now I'm ready for the Erase and Install.
    Thanks anyway for your interest.
    P.S. This is the link to my other thread where I explain part of my problems with the graphical interface. Besides that, Word stopped working and I also had problems with Quicktime and iDVD and iMovie.

  • Connection object in one method not accessible to another method

    Hi ,
    I have a method init() which contains the following:
    PropagatedDatabaseTransactionService.getInstance().getPropagatedDatabaseTransaction().begin();
              java.sql.Connection connection = PropagatedDatabaseTransactionService.getInstance().getPropagatedDatabaseTransaction().getConnection();
    try {
    Statement stmt = connection.createStatement() ;
    and so on
    I have 2 other methods in which i wish to use the "connection" object and also "stmt". I dont think I can place the connection code outside a method (also it throws an exception).
    How do i change the code so that the other 2 methods can also access the connection to the database?
    Thanks

    Either pass them as parameters or make them into member variables.

  • Connector problem : root not accessible

    I'm running a midlet and i try to get a file text from the computer i'm using with the wireless toolkit.
    But these lines don't work :
    String uri = "file:///c:/testinput.txt";
    InputConnection conn = (InputConnection) Connector.open( uri, Connector.READ );
    When I run it i get the message "is it OK to read your files?", i select yes and then i get an IOException : "Root is not accessible". Do I have to set permissions or something else?
    I am also suspecting MIDlets only being able to get data via http... I hope it's not that.
    I would be sooo happy if you helped me, I have no idea what's going on with this unaccessible root.

    My first guess would be that your mix of Support Package levels is giving you problems.

  • File system error when trying to connect to a network share

    I am trying to set up a BB Curve (9350) to access a network share (Applications/Files/GoTo) and am getting a message "File system error".  It does not ask for user/domain/password.  I have this working on another BB Curve.  When it works, it prompts for User Name, Domain, and Password.  Is there a setting on the BES that allows some phones to access the network, but not others?
    Thank you.
    JerryK

    Sometimes the devices can get pushed additional policies on accident basically, I would call the carrier first so you guys don't get charged for support and have them transfer you over to blackberry tech support.  If you have access to the server and the device they might be able to figure out whats goin on.

  • Statement not accessible error

    Hi, we have upgraded the project from 46c to ecc version.
    In one standard include MV45AFZZ , one statement is added  IMPORT itab1chk FROM MEMORY.
    In MV45AFZB , the value for itab1chk is getting exported.
    In 46c , we r not getting any error when we run the VA01 transaction.
    But in ECC, this transaction going for Dump giving error 'The statement is not accessible ' referring to the statement IMPORT itab1chk FROM MEMORY which is in MV45AFZZ include.
    I tried by adding ID <KEY> to the IMPORT AND EXPORT statement. But still getting same error.
    Can any one please suggest the solution.
    Thanks,
    laks.

    Hi,
    You get this Error normally when you are doing a syntax check on the Includes in which the code lines are not between FORM and ENDFORM.
    I dont think this is a serious error atleast till 4.7 as the system will allow you to activate the Include. May be the ECC is a bit more stringent on this issue.
    I think your problem will be solved if you try to include all the code lines only in the FORM and ENDFORM.

    Mahesh
