Fill a "select options" from a direct input.

Hi there
my new need is this, into a report I call a transaction (FMMC) and I'd like to fill a multiple selection into a select option (belnr) , there is a way to do only an execution of this "batch" or I have to launch the transaction for every document I have to release ?

I know why U get empty data.
In Program U should follow the rules:
U'd better data a variant typed the function parameters's type.
for example:
in your program the parameter: stlal = '1'
U'd better like follow:
Data l_stlal type STKO-STLAL
l_stlal = '01'. *Attention: '1' <> '01'.
stlal = l_stlal.
in this way U may have less mistake
and the parameter MTNRV
U should use material convernt : "CONVERSION_EXIT_MATN1_INPUT" to change material into internal types before U put into function's parameter.
why se37 has no problem? because In se37, the data you filled was be processed before use

Update a select-option From Table

I'm originally a C++ developer trying to learn ABAP.
I want to append values to a select-option from a table if another select-option is specified. I wrote some code that I believe will work but looks very inefficient to me. Any advice on how to streamline this process would appreciated.
The following is pseudo code and I left out some tweaks for simplicity and understanding but the basic idea is there. I want to add selection criteria to a select-option based upon a second select option (that may or may not be provided) table lookup.
Example:
DATA: groups TYPE table3.
SELECT-OPTIONS:
     s_accountNo FOR table1-accountNo,
     s_accountGroupNo FOR table2-accountGroupNo.
**** get the Account Groups that meet the selection criteria.
START-OF-SELECTION
     SELECT * INTO TABLE groups
          FROM table3
          WHERE accountGroupNo IN s_accountGroupNo.
**** Remove duplicate accounts from the Account Groups
SORT groups BY accountNo.
DELETE ADJACENT DUPLICATES FROM groups COMPARING accountNo.

     APPEND groups-accountNo TO s_accountNo.

The actual selection is fairly complicated from my point of view. I wrote the accountNo example to make things less confusing for me as much as anyone else, not to hide anything. I also didn't expect this amount of feedback, though it is appreciated.

Currently there is a select option for tknum and I am attempting (successfully with my change shown above, though as many have pointed out I may be misusing the intended functionality) to add another select-option for s_pickno which is a field of a custom table that has pickno as one of it's unique keys and tknum as another of it's fields. The idea is to be able to take a pickno and use it to find all the tknum's associated and then use them in the select statement above as well as any tknum's provided as initial input by the user. If there is a better method than modifying the s_tknum selection I'm open to feedback.

Selection Options feature for variable input in BEx in 7.0 version

Hi All,
We are currently in EHP1 BI 701 software version. We have queries in both 3.x and 7.0 version. The variable screen that we get when we execute the report in 3.x and 7.0 is different.
We have selection options in 3.x (We can copy and paste values (non sequential) from an excel sheet for example during variable input) but I'm not seeing the same in 7.0 queries.
Please suggest if it's a configuration/software issue or i'm missing something here.

I would like to inform you that you will not get the same button as in 3.x . But when you open the F4 screen and then you have
to click on the More Button.
Two ways you can copies:
To past from clipboard follow these steps:
1. Click on the u201CMore >>u201D button.
2. Click on the right box to set the focus.
3. Ctrl + V.
To import from a txt file follow these steps:
1. Click on the u201CMore >>u201D button.
2. Right click on the right box and choose u201CUpload selectionsu201D option.
3. Select the txt you want to import.
All the values will be copied on the Right Pane.

Assigning Data-Type Select-Option from Report to Method

How can I solve the following task smart? Its a quiet simple task. In my Report Ive some Select-Option-Data-Types and I want to assign this data-type an Abpab-Object-Method. Is it possible to do this in a smart fashion. Ive fight with the Abap-Syntax und at the end Ive found a tricky way of assigning the Select-Option parameter to the Abap-Object-Method.

How to get dynamic select options from logical database?

Hi,
in one of my extended reports (means - overwritten standard SAP functionality in Z-namespace) I'm using LDB 'DDF'. I've been requested to validate some of the dynamic selection options (for example - field HKONT at Document level) and to split the logic depending on the particular value(s).
Tracking what is happened in the LDB program I found that this select option is added as dynamic WHERE clause to the SELECT statement - in a way:
WHERE bukrs = p_burks AND ... AND
(where_tab)
Is there a way to get values of these LDB dynamic select options into my report and if yes - how?

Get Selection options from one view to another view

Hi Experts,
I am using two views, first view it shows basic list of records based on selection options criteria , here I used component WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS . Then if we click on any record in first view then it opens popup window with record relevant information. Here I want to get selection option values while editing record values.
Initially I used context node for one value, for that just I created node and attribute then bind to table then I used with method get_static_attributes_table( ) in second view.
But I need all values to be used in second view.
Please could you suggest, is there another way to get values into second view?

Hello BBC,
you can access the SELECT_OPTION component usage in second view and then you retrieve the selection fields and its corresponding range table. In this case the component usage instance will be shared across the application unless you explictly delete the component usage.

Firefox won't let me select options from drop down menus, on the previous version nor on the current 4.0 version that I just downloaded.

If I am on a site and trying to get information etc, and I have to choose from a drop down menu of any kind, Firefox won't let me choose anything. I can't answer the next question regarding This Happened because I can't select from your drop down.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Set parameter id for select-options to fill more than one value

FROM MY CUSTOM PROGRAM I AM CALLING A TRANSACTION CODE. IN MY REPORT I WANT TO SELECT MORE THAN ONE RECORD AND TO CALL THE TRANSACTION BY PASSING THE SELECTED VALUES TO THE SELECT-OPTIONS OF THE TRANSACTION.
IF IT IS A PARAMETER I CAN WRITE SET PARAMETER STATEMENT FOR ONE VALUE AND EASILY CALL THE TRANSACTION. BUT I WANT TO FILL THE SELECT-OPTIONS OF THE TCODE.
CAN ANYBODY PLEASE PROVIDE ME THE LOGIC HOW TO FILL THE SELECT-OPTIONS FROM MY REPORT FOR CALLING THE TRANSACTION.

Call the Report directly using:
(First declare the Ranges)
ranges : R_matnr for mara-matnr.

Value help for select-option not filling selection field

I'm having some problems with a value help on a select-option. I've managed to get the value help displaying the correct values but for some reason can't get it to populate the selection field after I've selected a record.
I have the following call:
wd_this->m_handler->add_selection_field(
                      i_id = 'SHORT_D'
                      i_description = 'Program'
                      it_result = lt_range_table
                      i_read_only = read_only
                      i_value_help_type = IF_WD_VALUE_HELP_HANDLER=>CO_PREFIX_SEARCHHELP
                      i_value_help_id = 'ZPROGSTUDY' ).
where ZPROGSTUDY is a new search help I've set up with an exit to retrieve the values.
Any ideas ? Thanks.

The code you have is OK. I copied your code into a test program and it worked as expected.
I used a search help where the possible values are populated in the search help exit, exactly as in your case. The only time it did not work was when read_only = X, but that is obvious also from a visual point of view since the input field is greyed out in that case. The popup also tells you is in RO mode...
Does your SHLP work when you test it from SE11? Returns values?
SAP provides a lot of WD4A sample code, see for example component WDR_TEST_SELECT_OPTIONS look for
select-option fields > special cases > input helps > Non field-specific input help using search help

Writing direction in select options

I want to change the writing direction of a select options from right to left TO Left to right.
here in the image, in Inspection lot no., direction is from right to left.
i want to change it to left to right.

Subscreen with Select-Options called from At Selection Screen event

Dear friends,
I'm trying to call a subscreen that contains a select-options, from an 'at selection screen' event, in a report program, but without sucess.
Here's go what I'm doing:
I declared a selection-screen as subscreen in my main program, and I'm calling it from a module-pool subscreen area, to make the module-pool select-options magic.
In my main report program, I have a customized status GUI with a new toolbar button and I'm handling it at the 'at selection screen' event.
What I need to do is to call the subscreen that contains the select-options when this new customized button get pressed, but when It happens, the select-option selections pop-up doesn't appear.
If I call the subscreen from the 'start-of-selection' event, it goes fine, just don't work from the 'at selection screen'.
Any ideas on how can I do it?

i think you should try something like this:
at selection screen.
if condition handled ....
show_popup = 'X'.
endif.
at selection screen output.
if show_popup EQ 'X.
call subscreen
endif.

When I select 'Options' I am presented with an empty window; I have used FF from its inception migrating from Netscape. I am using FF 32.3.

When I select 'Options' from the tools menu the resultant box is completely empty I am using FF 32.3 on Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. I prefer the pull-down menu system.
